Stock from AT&T including OTA update.
It's not working for missed calls, nor sms's, nor anything else.
Mechanically sound, goes red for charging and green when charged.
Yes, it is enabled for those notifications in the settings.
If you have a confirmed solution or very strong hunch, please post it here.
Thanks "in advance" even though I hate saying that.
Umm... I guess try the basics?
clear cache, restart, etc. If all else fails factory reset.
And now, 7 hrs later, it works again .... BUT
So now, the only difference is the phone is fully charged.
But the LED does flash now for missed SMS, call, and missed Email ( note: I have Notification for missed Email disabled, but it still flashes ).
Only problem is it stops flashing in about 1 minute .... so let me now ask, does anybody know how to extend the time the LED flashes?
Seriously, with all the power of these new phones, it's ironic that BB's from 8 years ago had LED notification that worked properly.
But thats about all BB's from 8 years ago did, they flash and give you a messsage. make sure its enabled in your settings and wipe cache, I haven't seen anything on adjusting the time. MIne flashes until I remove notification. Good luck!

I flashed my phone 2 days ago from on spv e650 to wm 6.1 gonzo and yesterday it was working fine (battery life was brilliant even with bluetooth, wifi, and checking for emails over gprs) I charged it last night and this morning the phone told me it was "roaming" with a little triangle beside the gprs logo, i switched it off and back on again and now, every 5 minutes my phone vibrates, theres no alerts on the screen or anything, ive turned all comms off, taken the battery out and back in and stopped my email from refreshing. theres no sound with the vibrate and the phone is not on silent. its driving me crazy, help me
its the vibrating alert script i guess
try removing it from the startup folder.
You have missed a call, or unred SMS/email, or appointment...
Check this first.
On my phone that thing got stucked and would vibrate even if there was no event to vibrate for. I ended up formatting it, but if you know there are no missed calls or anything that you may have missed try to delete all the call logs, and then make a call to the phone and wait until it vibrates past 5 minutes, then view the call to make it stop, and reboot the phone. Maybe it works for you
If you can wait a few days I can cook you a custom ROM based on Dr. G's but without the Notification script and wm5torage wich you will need to install seperately if you use it.
Roland
Thanks guys, as i had only just installed the new rom i decided just to do a hard reset and it fixed it as i wasnt going to lose anything
You just need to remove the script "notify.mscr" from the startup and reboot. That will solve your problem. You don't need to hard reset or flash your phone to stop this.
i had the same thing tomorrow. just turn it off... go to the startmenu->all progs->System folder->Config notification->"disable script"
done!!!!!
I had my OTA update like 29 of july or smth... everything was smooth till two days ago when suddenly i realised that putting my phone on standby mode (closing the screen) made my internet not working.
I use both WiFi in my home and 3g outside. in both situations when my phone goes to stand by it recieves no updates on anything. When I open it then all the messages from heytell or whatsapp come on along with fb notifications etc.
The blue bars of the signal are blue when i open my phone from stand by mode. then they become grey and then blue again. at that time is when i get all my notifications i had lost whilst in stand by mode. This is really frustrating. I reset my phone etc but the problem persists.. i read somewhere that some ppl said turning the cpu to 750mhz makes it keep the signal... in my opinion this is a HUGE problem and it needs to be patched officially.
However i need to say that in stand by mode it still rings for phone calls... I dont know what to make of it and i would appreciate someones help.
Thank you in advance.
Blue bars=connected to Google Services, which would explain why you get all your Google stuff the minute the bars turn to blue. Are you sure you don't have some battery saving app(ie: Juice Defender) running? I have to ask because people overlook things when they start to have issues with their phone.

yeap i dont have anything like that since i already know that it has to do with the voltage of stand by mode. i read it somewhere. unfortunately i installed only the basic stuff from the reset and still it made that problem. :S
Issue 1. my phone shuts off and vibrates every couple of seconds.
Issue 2. Unless I turn on "Disable hardware overlays" my screen flickers
Issue 3. (more recently) I can't sent or receive text, on rare occasions i can get text in and out though.
Issue 4. I also cant send or receive calls. (side issue is I have no sound unless on bluetooth)
What I see on the screen: The ATT text in the status bar is usually not there and neither is the power saving icon is missing too.
What I have done: *#*#4636#*#* I toggled everything and it seems to work for a second but I'm not sure what its supposed to look like.
(currently have the ATT text back annnnd now its gone)
I have also backed up with CWM and did a factory reset with CWM multiple times in the passed few days.
(ATT text came and went again)
If you have any questions please reply. if you can solve or have any tips please reply too. Thanks!
This morning my alarm did not sound. Checked all settings everything was set to on.
Tried to call the phone no sound. Re-booted and everything is now working as it should.
Also 3 times in the last two days the screen has frozen and I have had to reboot the power using the power button.
Has anyone else had these issues?
I am using this as stock with the latest OTA update.
Same issue here.
Everything is working fine, but ~1-2 Times a day the Screen stays black and won't turn on again until a reboot via the power button. But the touch is working, because after the reboot some of the apps on my homescreen are moved (because I moved them while whiping on the black screen). Everything else is fine, CM11S Stock latest, *33R.
Just changed the Gov from "Interactive" to "On Demand", no other Modifications.
Greets, Alex

I have also same problem... Do you get any solution for this ?
Just realize with your post that I have not posted an update......I like a certified dildo, had my phone in 'night' mode from the advanced power menu.... Put back to normal.....issue resolved......I would prefer more notification choices out the box, but that's easily fixed.....
Sent from my A0001 using XDA Free mobile app
Perhaps related to Quiet Hours getting stuck?

Interesting. I've been having the same problem, and this prompted me to take a look at my Quiet Hours setting. On the Quick Settings panel I noticed that the Quiet Hours icon was lit. That was odd, because I was well outside of the quiet hours I had set. When I tapped the icon, it would not change. I had to long press, toggle a setting, and exit back out before the icon started working normally again. Now everything seems to be fine. Hope this helps someone; the problem was driving me nuts!
I too have had this issue! No lights, sound and action
But I solved my problem :=) on my own because I'm Mister Wonderful :>
I reinstalled the quiet hours tile.
Then I went into quiet hours setting and changed hours from 00:00 & 00:00 to 01:00 & 07:00. The latter being outside the current time of day I was working in.
Then I went back to the quiet hours tile and turned it off. Holy Smokes this time it actually worked.
Because the power charger was connected the notification lamp began to burn green again. SMS notification sounds were heard. Even "You got mail" wasn't afairid to stand up to be heard.
Another wonderul day in paradise!
After upgrading to lollipop, I have noticed when recieving a call that sometimes my phone will ring for about 1 second and then stop but continue to vibrate. I am not using any quick cover or anything. This doesnt happen all the time but it does happen quite often. Has anyone else had this problem? I'm completely stock on 5.0 (i have deleted my cache partition and the problem still persists)

No, just the stock tones. I find it happening sometimes with my SMS messages as well but not all the time.
Update: I have since unlocked my bootloader (wiped) and rooted my phone and the problem still persist. Seems like I'm not alone, I have starred this so hopefully someone can see it. https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=81178#makechanges
Anyone have any suggestions that I could try?
update
I had thought I had fixed the problem by re flashing the stock image of lollipop, the problem went away and my phone started to ring again but shortly its back to only vibrating. I noticed that the little vibrate symbol was popping up in the status bar whenever I received a call, even when I turned off the also vibrate for calls option. I then remembered that when I use the volume butler app and set it to my vibrate profile that symbol would also pop up. I uninstalled volume butler and everything seemed to be working fine. Next I Checked the play store for comments regarding the issue and I noticed two things: There was a recent fix "ringtone changing to silent upon first install" and it said that the app was installed onto my device and not requiring an update even though I had just uninstalled it. So I decided to open it up and it was as if I was starting the app for the first time as none of my previous data was in there for testing purposes I decided to set up the same profiles that I had before and try calling my phone and my phone rang like it should, weird. Perhaps I had two versions and that was the one that I originally uninstalled is that even possible?( I could have sworn I had updated it,as it was under the up to date app list) Regardless, I uninstalled it again and everything is still working as it should. Hoping that this was was the culprit I will continue to test my phone and see.
