It should not be read only unless it is set that way. What are you trying to do? The only thing that should be read only are system files. Use Root explorer or the like to make changes to it.
I didn't move it it just started saying that all of a sudden.

Just flashed this, and I have a set of ringtones I use for ICS...same directory for both android versions but for GB, the tones don't show up.
I restarted multiple times but to no resolve.

They are in your ext. Card. Move them to internal.

They are...I put them in the location where stock sounds are located: /system/media/audio
