Won't work because it requires elements from the touchwiz framework.

How come? It's a free app so it shouldn't be a problem...
Isn't it only paid apps that are forbidden?
I can't get it onto my phone the normal way because the downloader doesn't work with 4.2.1... It just spins and doesn't give you the option to download.
I'm using SwiftKey Flow beta at the minute but it's no where near ready yet.

I ran into this same problem on my Nexus 4, but I just googled "1.3.5.10176 apk" (latest version), and downloaded the installer from one of those results. Of course you have to be careful not to get fooled by some malware site, but I easily found the apk on a site that's been my hero in the past when looking for such things..

Create custom ROM for android with android

I'm wondering if it's possible to create a custom ROM using my nexus 7. Every guide i found around was either for windows or linux. Can anyone tell me if there is an app to do that or is it impossible and why?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
Well, android is Linux...
U can do simple things like a few code line edits in build props and stuff. I have ported 6 ROMs from my phone with nothing more than a file explorer, so on a sorta simple level, definitely possible

I want to learn to make a custom ROM, so I need all the tools with a simple interface. From your answers I suppose I don't get these features.

[Q] Samsung Music Player

Does anyone know if there is a port of the samaung music player available for the nexus 5? Or any idea if someone could port one maybe? If not does anyone know any music players with similar sound and reverb effects?
I've not seen any ports. These things typically need frameworks.
Try viper4android for quality enhancements and reverb / surround effects

Thanks, i will try that now. Is there anywhere i could find instructions to try so a port of this kind?

Theres a viper thread here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2543796
Towards the end, Andras posted flashable zips.
As for porting, there are no real instructions. Its a very reactive and organic process. Its not really the sort of task just anyone can do. I wouldn't know where to start myself and im quite familiar with building roms

Right thanks it gets quite close, do you know if it would be possible to create a samaung rom the for nexus 5? With all the lib files and all the frameworks

No, you'd have to have the touch wiz framework and that's not going to work on the n5

You have to remember many samsung features can't even be ported to aosp on a samsung device.
There's a thread in somewhere general where someone is working on an entire touchwiz rom port.

Would it be possible to create a touchwiz rom for nexus 5 using a s4 rom on a s2 as a base and pulling apps and frameworks from that?
