has anyone tried the new released Galaxy on fire 2 HD (Galaxy Note) version available on samsung apps??
please tell us your opinion on how good it is, especially compared to the iphone counterpart
here's the link in ase someone is tempted

I'm tempted, but keep getting the attached error message when I try to buy it.
A Google search confirms it's due to a lack of available memory but I have over 1GB on the phone, over 5GB internal and over 7GB external free. The game says it's only a 340MB download. How much memory can it possibly need to unpack?
It's very beautiful. Here are the screenshots. I'll compare them to the THD Version tomorrow.
I get the same "not enough memory" message when I easily have enough for the app

THD version has way better graphics (simply by comparing the asteroids). Though after playing for ~30mins or so it runs out of memory and closes. Seems to be an issue with THD version.
I was able to transfer the THD version save files over to the Sammy version though.

I was wondering why Gameloft has a problem with android market bc yesterday I bought a game via my Galaxy Tab and they took it out of my paypal but I never got the game and now I have sent them two emails and have to call them tomorrow and I am like 85% sure this would not have happened with the Android market.
Out of curiosity, did you read the license for the games purchased from their site? You can only re-download a game on the same phone you bought it (and same sim-phone number), and only for 3 years. Not sure if i remember well, but it might even had a limit of how many times you can download a game!
I would never ever buy anything from their site.

Yea, I wasn't going to buy from their website at first, but then I figured I was just being paranoid and bought it, and now I am out $5...Well, I guess thats what I get for trying to buy something from them legitly(if thats even a word...)

Legitimately is what you're after
There is an upper size limit on apps from the marketplace, currently 50MB I believe, by offering applications directly they can bypass this limit. For example, NFS:Shift is roughly 120MB and Asphalt:HD is just on 100MB. I'm pretty sure both download additional data to the SD Card as well.
Other games have a small client and just download a mass of extra data (e.g. that shadow souls or whatever that new RPG game is called that downloads ~1GB of data), so they could adopt that method, presumably they choose not to.
They also probably want a bigger cut of the profits by charging directly, they'd probably have much better exposure in the marketplace though.

Legitimately thats it....
Update with them: They sent me the games that I wanted(spider-man hd, dungeon hunter hd(buy one get one free)) and created me an account after I called them and explained my mistake so it was cool...
Until the bug in the game spider-man hd where it wont load the stage called, "Mystery Infection Strikes City" so I called them and they said to keep spider-man hd on my tablet and they should be issuing an update in a few months and they sent me a free game(hero of Sparta) for all my troubles.
About them on the market: Well that sucks bc if they were on the market they could issue updates faster; but then again since they have different versions for different devices(for some reason) it may get a bit confusing.
FYI NFS installer is around 20mb (smaller for Ashphalt5HD), the 120 MB is the total after downloading the data once in the game.
So that's not a reason for market avoidance (both NFS and Ashphalt are on the market anyway, least here in the UK and also both are available for free in samsung apps regardless).
I downloaded Spiderman of the site, and evertime i try it i get a "this is not an official copy of spiderman" error and it closes, i have tried over wifi, or 3g, and with the SIM i had at the time of purchase in the tab.
I'm not that bothered about the game though, it was one of my vouchers from the samsung pack anyway.

I have installed the gameloft games on the sensation and the games are 1/4 screen to low any else have this issue? Touch spots are in the correct place.
me too
i downloaded nova 2 apk online and had the same issue on the cut scenes but not during gameplay. the gameplay was just laggy and the surrounding were loading correctly. only some titles r compatible with the sensation. its because of the screen resolution.
oh.. well, maybe try purchasing legitimate games from them instead of stealing. the 4 Gameloft games I purchased all work flawlessly
While I can agree with purchasing the games legit. I have to say that gameloft tends to tell me my device is unsupported in the same way that hulu + and netflix do but I should be able to run the apps just fine. So occasionally I have to pursue other means to enjoy the content until it is available to me officially. Yes I understand those apps are free but I am more making the point that support for apps and games need to be updated more regularly. I am more than willing to pay to play...

The screen is off because sensation is supported for it yet. I have 5 gameloft games all from their site and they work perfectly. There's a reason that the tailor the games to each device.

I have many cracked Gameloft games for my HD2. I've tested many of them on the Sensation and either they don't work or don't scale properly. You get what you pay for. I would have bought them for my HD2 but stupid Gameloft would never give me a way even though they ran great.
I use the Gameloft wapstore now and it will tell you the games they support for the Sensation. It's not a massive list but it will grow I'm sure. I bought four games from them so far and enjoying each one.
I have 4 games I've purchased from Gameloft's site through the phone.
all work perfect, to scale.
selection is a bit pitiful but atleast we got SOME games for our phones...
by the way, they are having a 2 for 1 sale with the games being only $3. so basically $1.50 a game.
spend the little money and save yourself the headache of non/incorrectly working pirated APKs.
same for me: warez didn't work or fit the screen properly, so I bought the games once the Sensation was supported at Gameloft wapstore, they all work very well
BTW, if some have the same problem: if I try to go to Gameloft wapstore using WIFI, I get an error message ("too many redirections to load the page").
If I go to the same page connected with 3g, it works! So I buy and dowlload the app using 3g then start wifi fir SD datas.
I have Asphalt 6, NOVA, Rainbow 6, Modern Combat 2.
Make sure they are all HD versions and are for our phone/snapdragon-adreno. They are all full screen, no issues so far.
The only game I had an issue with was Gangstar, it's in full screen but off the edge. My favorite game too..
I use cracked versions of some gameloft games, and they are all full screen. (I agree that we shouldn't use illegal copies but from my country I can't purchase anything from gameloft, also, can't access paid apps on market, so for me it is legal)
thanks
Thanks for the input.
So I just switched from a G2 to a senny, I had 4 gameloft games that I bought from the market. I transfered them but only nova works, order and chaos, modern combat, and asphault 6 all give me the not compatible message.
What do I need to do here? Anyone got a link to an hd version of these games?

I have owned my Atrix 2 for around a week now and im very satisfied with it.
The only issue im seeing is that ALOT of the best games (modern combat, nova, asphalt 6) etc. Are not compatible with this phone.
Is this just because its new and the devs will update their games for it? Or would i have to install a different ROM or something? Answers are appreciated.
Sent from my MB865 using xda premium
I think it has something to do with the cpu/gpu not being compatible with tegra 2 based games.
sent from my Motorola Atrix 2 via Tapatalk
Wow. That sucks. So ill never be able to play Modern Combat or anything even if i installed a different ROM? Sorry, i'm new to Android.

As far as I am aware those games as in Asphalt 6 etc. have Nothing to do with needing a Tegra Processor considering I can play them on my Old MyTouch 4G which I know for a Fact does not have a Tegra Chip and I also never did the thing to make the games Think it has one. They are just Gameloft Games and if you Look at what is pre-loaded on the Phone (Letsgolf 2) is installed which is a Gameloft Game so my assumption is they are still working on optimizing the games for this GPU/CPU Chipset and or they already have and you are loading Out of Date Versions.
---------- Post added at 12:54 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:44 AM ----------
Yea I was right I went straight to Gameloft's Website and tried to get GT Racing Free+ and it is currently Not available for the device so it gives an option below showing which games Are available and the Ones showing that will function on this phone are Uno, N.O.V.A 2 - Near Orbit Vanguard Alliance HD, The Oregon Trail HD, and Spider-Man: Total Mayhem HD.
Thanks so much for your info. So with a little patience you think theyll be optimized for this lovely phone, correct?
And im not loading any out of date versions, at the app store they dont even show up on the list, which means they are not compatible
They should be compatible sooner or later. The PowerVR SGX540 GPU is very common among Android phones (all the Galaxy S phones use it, the new Galaxy Nexus uses it).
Yea I'm pretty sure it is just a matter of getting the phones optimized for the GPU and screen resolutions etc.
We should start a thread with a list of working games.
I have Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Conviction (Gameloft) working with no problems at all on my Atrix 2 :-D
By all means you should in the general section. Go for it!

Any news for compatible games for the Atrix 2?
I also have Captain America working without any problems as well!
I was able to find a working version of Order & Chaos...
good thing too..I was beginning to get the shakes
Does anyone know how and where I can get free HD games for the cm7/webOS? and how does that work with 2 softwares installed? Can someone explain to me..
Thanks
Don't know about FREE HD games, you might be able to get hacked games on the Android side. I have Adrenaline 6 on the Webos side, and it's great.
The separation of the 2 systems probably requires each OS to have it's own installation. The code would be significantly different, I would think. Maybe I'm stating the obvious.
On the android store, I'd recommend getting the amazon app store. They have a free paid app a day. Usually it's a game, too.
I recently got the 7.0 plus as a late Christmas gift. I like the size of the tablet because it is nice and light and goes everywhere. However, I have a few cons that I am wondering if they are deal breakers for me.
The first is the lack of games that can be played on the 7.0 plus. I don't want my tablet to play games all the time but I was hoping to be able to play a few games (like riptide or asphalt6) and this tablet cannot play those types of games.
The second is that some tablet apps don't work on this device and I would guess that is because of the 7 inch size. I was hoping to mainly use the device to read news, magazines and books. I do not care too much about videos because I have a laptop that can handle all HD videos I throw at it.
I'm stuck between size, weight and portability versus games and proper apps. Does anyone know how the Thrive, Transformer or Samsung 8.9 tablet handle these things?
Thanks for any help
Have you tried Chainfire? This may allow you to play the games you mentioned. As far as the other apps are concerned, you may want to contact the developers. They may just need to update the app so it recognizes the 7.0 Plus as a tablet.
Keep in mind, this tablet is relatively new, and my guess is, many issues like this will be resolved in due time.

Agreed chainfire is about your only option right now. With that said the exynos chips are very very good....just give it some more time for the dev community to pick up.

I second what the posters above have already said. Chainfire 3D will allow you to play those games for now, but with time these games will be updated to work with the 7.0 Plus. The same goes for the tablet apps.
To answer your second question, the 8.9, (since it is Tegra 2) can handle everything you have discussed in your post, and it is closest in size to the 7.0 Plus of all of the tablets you have mentioned. If you like the portability of the 7.0 Plus, a move to the Transformer or the Thrive, (especially the Thrive as it is so thick,) will feel a good deal less portable.
My advice, (for what it's worth) would be to get chainfire3D for now to play the games and then stop using it or even get rid of it once the games have been updated for your tablet. The tablet apps will be updated, it will just take a few more weeks. (I seriously doubt it would take more than 3 more weeks for developers to update their apps.) I hope this helps. Have fun with your tablet.

HUH? Riptide works great even without chainfire. Asphalt 6 on the other hand is fairly new and still doesn't support our tablet officially. But there are some workarounds with that. (thanks to chrisrotolo for teaching me )
Well, I haven't really found any tablet optimized app that doesn't work on the GTab+. I think it is compatible with our device but maybe it's not available on your country?

I was messing around with the dpi and find if you change it to 132 if the app has a tablet optimized version it will show properly on the tab. Try it with the IMDB app you'll see what I mean.
Thanks for the responses guys! I tried riptide and it FC'd. I'm in America and the apps I was talking about is thinks like CNN Tablet Edition cannot even be installed. It says it does not recognize my device.
I will have to try chainfire and see how it works! Thanks again for the help
Actually, can anyone help me so I can get the games to work?
