I was wondering why Gameloft has a problem with android market bc yesterday I bought a game via my Galaxy Tab and they took it out of my paypal but I never got the game and now I have sent them two emails and have to call them tomorrow and I am like 85% sure this would not have happened with the Android market.
Out of curiosity, did you read the license for the games purchased from their site? You can only re-download a game on the same phone you bought it (and same sim-phone number), and only for 3 years. Not sure if i remember well, but it might even had a limit of how many times you can download a game!
I would never ever buy anything from their site.

Yea, I wasn't going to buy from their website at first, but then I figured I was just being paranoid and bought it, and now I am out $5...Well, I guess thats what I get for trying to buy something from them legitly(if thats even a word...)

Legitimately is what you're after
There is an upper size limit on apps from the marketplace, currently 50MB I believe, by offering applications directly they can bypass this limit. For example, NFS:Shift is roughly 120MB and Asphalt:HD is just on 100MB. I'm pretty sure both download additional data to the SD Card as well.
Other games have a small client and just download a mass of extra data (e.g. that shadow souls or whatever that new RPG game is called that downloads ~1GB of data), so they could adopt that method, presumably they choose not to.
They also probably want a bigger cut of the profits by charging directly, they'd probably have much better exposure in the marketplace though.

Legitimately thats it....
Update with them: They sent me the games that I wanted(spider-man hd, dungeon hunter hd(buy one get one free)) and created me an account after I called them and explained my mistake so it was cool...
Until the bug in the game spider-man hd where it wont load the stage called, "Mystery Infection Strikes City" so I called them and they said to keep spider-man hd on my tablet and they should be issuing an update in a few months and they sent me a free game(hero of Sparta) for all my troubles.
About them on the market: Well that sucks bc if they were on the market they could issue updates faster; but then again since they have different versions for different devices(for some reason) it may get a bit confusing.
FYI NFS installer is around 20mb (smaller for Ashphalt5HD), the 120 MB is the total after downloading the data once in the game.
So that's not a reason for market avoidance (both NFS and Ashphalt are on the market anyway, least here in the UK and also both are available for free in samsung apps regardless).
I downloaded Spiderman of the site, and evertime i try it i get a "this is not an official copy of spiderman" error and it closes, i have tried over wifi, or 3g, and with the SIM i had at the time of purchase in the tab.
I'm not that bothered about the game though, it was one of my vouchers from the samsung pack anyway.

They are starting to add HD games to market. Modern Combat 2 and Asphalt 6 are in there. Hope for more coming.
Yea they rip you off its $2 more than on their website
Asphalt 6 is $4.99 on gameloft and $6.99 on market

Last week the Gameloft site was running a buy one/get one free special. I purchased Asphalt for 4.99 and picked up Avatar for free.
i guess it cost more on market becasue they have to pay google a fee or something
they do the same on itunes $6.99 for new games
So are all the games under Android in Gameloft compatible with our phones? When I'm trying to buy GT Racing, and select p999, everything is grayed out and I cannot proceed with the purchase
If you put you live in india its just 2 bucks

I purchased my games directly from the Gameloft site. In the phone browser, just go to www.gameloft.com, and it should automatically detect the phone that you are using and display the games that are compatible with your phone.
The extra $$ may be associated with the fact they can't make you buy the game again if you switch phones.

crap... how did i miss that?
well it about damn time. I hate when all these companies try to make their own "App Stores".
Come on guys, just put them were we can EASILY get them. Plus at least now they are tied to your account. The bad is that it probably won't work with your next phone anyway. Gameloft games are real picky hence why I don't bother.
Thats why hopefully NVidia can gain some ground to stop all this fragmentation with games. They should make phones using the tried and true method, put whatever CPU in there and just add an NVIDIA GPU so the instructions are the same across the board.
This is why I got the G2x; to support the Android Gaming platform!
I have installed the gameloft games on the sensation and the games are 1/4 screen to low any else have this issue? Touch spots are in the correct place.
me too
i downloaded nova 2 apk online and had the same issue on the cut scenes but not during gameplay. the gameplay was just laggy and the surrounding were loading correctly. only some titles r compatible with the sensation. its because of the screen resolution.
oh.. well, maybe try purchasing legitimate games from them instead of stealing. the 4 Gameloft games I purchased all work flawlessly
While I can agree with purchasing the games legit. I have to say that gameloft tends to tell me my device is unsupported in the same way that hulu + and netflix do but I should be able to run the apps just fine. So occasionally I have to pursue other means to enjoy the content until it is available to me officially. Yes I understand those apps are free but I am more making the point that support for apps and games need to be updated more regularly. I am more than willing to pay to play...

The screen is off because sensation is supported for it yet. I have 5 gameloft games all from their site and they work perfectly. There's a reason that the tailor the games to each device.

I have many cracked Gameloft games for my HD2. I've tested many of them on the Sensation and either they don't work or don't scale properly. You get what you pay for. I would have bought them for my HD2 but stupid Gameloft would never give me a way even though they ran great.
I use the Gameloft wapstore now and it will tell you the games they support for the Sensation. It's not a massive list but it will grow I'm sure. I bought four games from them so far and enjoying each one.
I have 4 games I've purchased from Gameloft's site through the phone.
all work perfect, to scale.
selection is a bit pitiful but atleast we got SOME games for our phones...
by the way, they are having a 2 for 1 sale with the games being only $3. so basically $1.50 a game.
spend the little money and save yourself the headache of non/incorrectly working pirated APKs.
same for me: warez didn't work or fit the screen properly, so I bought the games once the Sensation was supported at Gameloft wapstore, they all work very well
BTW, if some have the same problem: if I try to go to Gameloft wapstore using WIFI, I get an error message ("too many redirections to load the page").
If I go to the same page connected with 3g, it works! So I buy and dowlload the app using 3g then start wifi fir SD datas.
I have Asphalt 6, NOVA, Rainbow 6, Modern Combat 2.
Make sure they are all HD versions and are for our phone/snapdragon-adreno. They are all full screen, no issues so far.
The only game I had an issue with was Gangstar, it's in full screen but off the edge. My favorite game too..
I use cracked versions of some gameloft games, and they are all full screen. (I agree that we shouldn't use illegal copies but from my country I can't purchase anything from gameloft, also, can't access paid apps on market, so for me it is legal)
thanks
Thanks for the input.
So I just switched from a G2 to a senny, I had 4 gameloft games that I bought from the market. I transfered them but only nova works, order and chaos, modern combat, and asphault 6 all give me the not compatible message.
What do I need to do here? Anyone got a link to an hd version of these games?

I've seen a few posts from people with Telcel - Mexico profile info, perhaps a few more without visible profile.
I'd like to know what games come preloaded with the Xperia Play if I get it from Telcel. I'm asking this because my bro might be getting one on monday but the list from some sites say that it comes with Fifa 10/11 and a racing game which I believe it was Asphalt but I can't remember, and out of all the list those 2 are the ones he actually wants. Now on the official carrier's website it says it comes with NFL 11 and no racing game and the other extra titles of course.
Thanks for your time, hoping to get this figured out before the purchase.

Is it going to show up as free when using the Play? market on the browser is showing me Asphalt 6 for $6.99, couldn't find rainbow 6.
Thanks for the quick reply!
For me it was only possible to download Asphalt 6 for free :/
I got it from telcel aprox a month ago
It came with the following preloaded games:
Tetris
Crash Bandicoot
Fifa 10
Madden NFL 11
Bruce Lee
Star Batallion
Spider Man "Total Mayhem" but this one is only a demo (1st level playable only)
Additional when you launch the Xperia play app you will have access to download for free:
Asphalt Adrenaline 6
Also you will be available to download the following games optimized for Xperia play for free but with adds (which will not appear if you turn off you 3G and WiFi)
Age of Zombies
Gun Bros
Guns n Glory
Aporkalypse
Dynamite Fishing
Happy Vikings
The Rainbow Six will not be available for free in Mexico (hell, I think it won't be free for the entire American continent )
If you and your brother are getting this mobile, I can recommend you to purchase the SE MW600 headset and the dock DK300, this will give you guys a more complete xperia xperience
Thanks a lot!
That really helped and tells me exactly what to expect from gaming as soon as we get it.
I'm gonna check on those accessories, are those sold by telcel or somewhere else?

Hi,
That's why we are here, to help each other
I found you can also download the free (adds version) of the following Xperia play optimized games too.
Shark or Die
InfeCCt
also be sure to try them... good times... and don't forget to install emulators
I have tried Nes and Snes emus only.... and it is so much fun!!!
I forgot about the accessories,
I don't think telcel will sell them, maybe on a mall on those accesories huts, but I saw them on Mercado Libre but twice the price I wished to pay, so I made a search and found them and bought them on Amazon... for a great price
$55 for the MW600 (which is great because it can be used as handsfree for making and receiving calls, headphones for Music playing, and FM radio, which is a plus because the PLAY doens't have FM radio )
$25 for the DK300 (it works great... I have mine at work as a charging/showoff station) I'll wait for a cheap one on Ebay or amazon... to buy another one for the house)
If you live close to the US border you can try buy them on Amazon or Ebay.
P.S. I also recommend to get the camera Mod App for xperia play... it allows you to take pictures with the play camera with the R-Button instead of the screen (which was a let-down by SE)
Just got the Camera Mod, it works amazing.
Weird thing is, in the test service camera you take pictures with R too, so it makes me wonder why SE screwed up at the last minute.
age of zombies does not show up as free, just a heads up, loved this game on psp minis, hated how they removed the cigar on the mobile versions, he looked way more 80s movie badass
Oops... My Bad... I guess I got that for free on other site jejeje (MEGAUPLOAD )
Sorry about that... anyway all others are correct
Netorino :
Do you know about the SE promotion for 3 free games... will it ever going to apply in Mexico?
No idea about the 3 free games thing, but I've found a couple sites with a lot of HD games and some of them were Xperia Play-oriented (I guess all the buttons work without having to manually configurating them). So I downloaded almost all of them and saved for later use
If you haven't found them send me a PM or email, same name @gmail.com.

you are correct. Gameloft sucks.
If you have another android device, buy the game on there then look for a hacked apk. I don't support piracy, which is why I suggest buying it first.
Would one not be able to buy it and download it on one device and then copy the apk to the other device?

Typically no, Gameloft games are protected. I've tried backing up .apks and trying them on various devices and they don't work. It says "not an original .apk" and closes out of the app.
I personally disagree with that mode of thing. If I paid of an App, i should get to play it on any of my devices, understanding the risk of it possibly not preforming correctly.

welcome to the crappy company that is gameloft- the company that makes ace games but makes you pay for them each time you play them eg letsgolf- used to be able to play all the holes having only paid for the game once- now they make you pay to play each hole.
gameloft realised they have some desirable games and have decided to rinse their customers for the privilage of playing them- the main reason why i refuse to give the mofo's any of my hard earned..

Its TF version of Let's Golf different than SGS2? In SGS2 is limited as 1 per energy cell and you can sum 6 energy cells. If you want more, you pay, but energy recovers as 1 cell per hour. Its not great, but its not so bad...
Aside from that I also find bad the offer, since TF can only run 4 games from Gameloft and I don't really know why they don't increase that number since Let's Golf for example can run in many other tablets.

ANDROID MARKET LINK
i've been wait a long time for this game ,thanks pal for information ,now on going to download this games
Damn you're fast!
As far as I'm concerned... GTA3 won't be hard to beat from a technical standpoint. It's got status... it's got fame... but it's aged horribly, it's touchpad usage barely exists, and it manages to have very underwhelming performance for a game that looks as bad as it does.

not expecting to much from Gameloft.
I've had a quick play and, as expected, it's buggy as hell. My main gripe is the popup tip windows. I can't find any way of removing them without turning them off completely or exiting to the main menu. Playing is impossible with one of those taking up 2/3 of the screen. Also sometimes steering/moving will continue in a certain direction when not pressing anything. Wheelies/stoppies on bikes can only be done using the accelerometer with the gamepad closed.
Controls are ok but touchpad sucks like in most Gameloft games. D-pad can be used for direction so it's not too bad.
Graphics aren't great, things look a bit blocky and the colours a little washed out. Physics are terrible, vehicles stick to the road no matter what, it's almost impossible to get some air in a car or bike. Vehicle handling is crap in general.
Overall I'm disappointed with this so far, especially given the £5 price tag, but I suppose this is to be expected from Gameloft
Better wait for a price drop then I find the current price too steep. Thanks for the review.
As a side note, I'm currently playing other Gameloft production- Six Guns, which is also a little buggy but still playable. And one does not need to spend a penny on it, if they wish so.
So, this is yet another Gameloft game that looks amazing in pictures & video, but when you actually come to play it...it's boring, frustrating & buggy as hell? I bet it is...

It costs more than the game it's a ripoff of!
I never buy a Gameloft game for more than 99 cents during one of their sales (or the Play store's sales). Based on the bugginess of every single one of their releases, they do not deserve the $6-7 they normally charge.
Sadly, I fell for the Gameloft hype when I first got my Play. Got a few games free, paid 99p for others...and honestly, out of all the games I've played...the only decent one is Asphalt 6. I really enjoyed that. But the other suck big time.
Damn game keeps FC'ing on me so I can't even form any kind of review. I seriously wouldn't be surprised if City of Saints beats gta3 at everything except gta3s fame though.
What I can say is that; on a general note, gameloft desperately needs to learn about compression. This game sucks an obligatory 10MB off the phone, and near 2GB off the card after everything is unpacked. There's games 100x better looking than anything gameloft has ever done that can stay at under 500kb off the phone and under 1GB on SD storage.

They made a 2d version a while back. The SD files are about 1.6GB on the new 3d one.
3d version = https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gameloft.android.ANMP.GloftG4HM
What are you guys talking about? It's a 2mb apk and 800mb sd data less than EA's FIFA 12 they already did better job with compression this time. And I could run the game on first run its kinda slow/laggy with 1Ghz but when I overclocked it to 1.8GHz the game was pretty smooth have to test on 2.0ghz.
Ps. Currently using Xperia Monster Rom from DikeJ with doomkernel v11

That's unpacked.
The APK is ~2MB and the data download is 800MB unpacked... but after it's all said and done, the 800MB unpacks to well over 1.5GB, 10MB of which is sent to the data portion of the game's phone storage install (meaning it can't be moved to SD with the other chunk of SD data).
That's one of the things I hate the most about Gameloft. They aren't considerate of people with low phone storage. Order & Chaos is a really nice game to play on Xperia PLAY; yet they rape your phone's SD card with a huge data installation, then add insult to injury by forcing 19MB into the phone's data portion of phone storage so that it can't be moved to SD without minitool partitioning.

Hmm ok I forgot to mentioning it was the download size anyway I'm just happy that they finally released the android version. Though requires some fixes or more optimization for 1ghz processor. But after gta3 this game's a refreshment. And if you're comparing both then gta3 is much smoother and optimized for XPlay(1ghz) right now.
