[GAME] New Gameloft Games for Android

I was surfing thru gameloft website and notice that there are alot of new games for android ~
Most of it (if not all) are ported from iphone.
I tried searching for more info regarding these games from most android webbys but to no avail. All that came up was Asphalt 5 ~
List of new games available such as:
-N.O.V.A. [Near Orbit Vanguard Alliance]
-Real Soccer 2010
-Tom Clancy's HAWX
-Assassin Creed
-Modern Combat: Sandstorm
-few others

I am hoping someone will do a video review on these games. Wonder it will run well on nexus ~

They certainly look impressive.

Unfortunately Gameloft tend to just port the iphone versions which means poorly optimised code and rubbish performance despite being on a more powerful device

They recently updated zenonia which is sooo smooth now.

hmm... i thought Zenonia is from Gamevil but not Gameloft?

Come to think of it, i don't even have a gameloft game on my phone, i had origan trail at some point. lol.

i am extremely dissatisfied and choose to boycott Gameloft for the same reason as mentioned by one poster above.
to the present day Asphalt 5 runs extremely laggy on Nexus One, hundreds of posters have pointed it out but the devs have to the present day not managed to chunk out one single update.. and that for a $6.99 game.

Bring on RF 2010... And modern combat! Graphics look amazing.
Hopefully Asphalt was just a test in Android waters when it comes to 3d games. They better get it right this time around.
EDIT: Just went to buy Modern Combat: Sandstorm for $4.99. After entering that I have a HTC Google Nexus One, I get a message saying:
"Sorry, Modern Combat: Sandstorm HD+ is not available for your phone at the moment"
However Real Football is available to buy (im pretty sure). I can get to the checkout stage, but I don't think i'll buy it yet.
Hopefully they are on the market soon...

if you downloaded HD+ isn't that the iPad version?

I was sure I was browsing android games, because there was a picture of a Nexus One with an embedded video playing inside it.
I clicked Buy Now straight under it.
Not sure why MCS isn't working and Real Football is...

Were you really laughing out loud while you wrote that? I doubt it.
Ontopic, it's good that Gameloft at least does something for Android. Some guy at Gameloft complained some time ago about the difficulties of making money on Android software. I guess he saw that Android is kicking every other platform's butt, and they want in on the world domination.

Is Asphalt 5 on the link given in the opening post, the same 'laggy' version we all have? Asking because when I click on buy now, I see the name "Asphalt 5 HD+".. Is it different?

I have no idea bro. The info on the web itself is vague. They should at least list the version number.

Has anyone managed to find the free trials of any of their games (Avatar, Assassins Creed etc)?
The demo's look good but they won't send me a link as they say my operator isn't supported.... but i have a sneaky suspicion that they should work for us.

I played them and they do work. I went to the website via the internet on my phone and downloaded it. If you do that they will just send it to you.

yeah some of them work but their resolution and controls for touch screens are ****. wish ea games took up gaming on hd2. they manage to make graphics and controls so good

i already thought about buying N.O.V.A.
that would be so cool xD just need to tell them i have a nexus one.. cause its a nexus one or desire rom

Gameloft HD games coming to Market

They are starting to add HD games to market. Modern Combat 2 and Asphalt 6 are in there. Hope for more coming.

Last week the Gameloft site was running a buy one/get one free special. I purchased Asphalt for 4.99 and picked up Avatar for free.

i guess it cost more on market becasue they have to pay google a fee or something
they do the same on itunes $6.99 for new games

So are all the games under Android in Gameloft compatible with our phones? When I'm trying to buy GT Racing, and select p999, everything is grayed out and I cannot proceed with the purchase

I purchased my games directly from the Gameloft site. In the phone browser, just go to www.gameloft.com, and it should automatically detect the phone that you are using and display the games that are compatible with your phone.

The extra $$ may be associated with the fact they can't make you buy the game again if you switch phones.

crap... how did i miss that?

well it about damn time. I hate when all these companies try to make their own "App Stores".
Come on guys, just put them were we can EASILY get them. Plus at least now they are tied to your account. The bad is that it probably won't work with your next phone anyway. Gameloft games are real picky hence why I don't bother.
Thats why hopefully NVidia can gain some ground to stop all this fragmentation with games. They should make phones using the tried and true method, put whatever CPU in there and just add an NVIDIA GPU so the instructions are the same across the board.
This is why I got the G2x; to support the Android Gaming platform!

[Q] Gameloft games to low

I have installed the gameloft games on the sensation and the games are 1/4 screen to low any else have this issue? Touch spots are in the correct place.

i downloaded nova 2 apk online and had the same issue on the cut scenes but not during gameplay. the gameplay was just laggy and the surrounding were loading correctly. only some titles r compatible with the sensation. its because of the screen resolution.

oh.. well, maybe try purchasing legitimate games from them instead of stealing. the 4 Gameloft games I purchased all work flawlessly

While I can agree with purchasing the games legit. I have to say that gameloft tends to tell me my device is unsupported in the same way that hulu + and netflix do but I should be able to run the apps just fine. So occasionally I have to pursue other means to enjoy the content until it is available to me officially. Yes I understand those apps are free but I am more making the point that support for apps and games need to be updated more regularly. I am more than willing to pay to play...

The screen is off because sensation is supported for it yet. I have 5 gameloft games all from their site and they work perfectly. There's a reason that the tailor the games to each device.

I have many cracked Gameloft games for my HD2. I've tested many of them on the Sensation and either they don't work or don't scale properly. You get what you pay for. I would have bought them for my HD2 but stupid Gameloft would never give me a way even though they ran great.
I use the Gameloft wapstore now and it will tell you the games they support for the Sensation. It's not a massive list but it will grow I'm sure. I bought four games from them so far and enjoying each one.

I have 4 games I've purchased from Gameloft's site through the phone.
all work perfect, to scale.
selection is a bit pitiful but atleast we got SOME games for our phones...
by the way, they are having a 2 for 1 sale with the games being only $3. so basically $1.50 a game.
spend the little money and save yourself the headache of non/incorrectly working pirated APKs.

same for me: warez didn't work or fit the screen properly, so I bought the games once the Sensation was supported at Gameloft wapstore, they all work very well
BTW, if some have the same problem: if I try to go to Gameloft wapstore using WIFI, I get an error message ("too many redirections to load the page").
If I go to the same page connected with 3g, it works! So I buy and dowlload the app using 3g then start wifi fir SD datas.

I have Asphalt 6, NOVA, Rainbow 6, Modern Combat 2.
Make sure they are all HD versions and are for our phone/snapdragon-adreno. They are all full screen, no issues so far.
The only game I had an issue with was Gangstar, it's in full screen but off the edge. My favorite game too..

I use cracked versions of some gameloft games, and they are all full screen. (I agree that we shouldn't use illegal copies but from my country I can't purchase anything from gameloft, also, can't access paid apps on market, so for me it is legal)

So I just switched from a G2 to a senny, I had 4 gameloft games that I bought from the market. I transfered them but only nova works, order and chaos, modern combat, and asphault 6 all give me the not compatible message.
What do I need to do here? Anyone got a link to an hd version of these games?

Alien vs Predator (from Sega) works grea with pad buttons and analogs

mx vs atv reflex works well and just cause 2 does but the volume buttons are used for grapple which can be a bit awkward

Assassins creed brotherhood (I'd expect revelations works too), deus ex & saints row
Now this is where Sony should have always pushed the xperia play - all my mates are jealous now!

You can use a Virtual Private Network

Saints Row 2 works although I get a mouse loading cursor in the middle of the screen the whole time but it's not too distracting

You've missed deus ex from the list - amazing how well these work with a phone!

Assassin's Creed Revelations works except Eagle Sense which requires you to press in the left analog stick (Only needed for some missions)

Delete Online from your phone, and google for the latest version apk (Online is free)
You can actually find the latest apk in the thread named something like "Onlive now supports xperia play controls!", just look for it here it worked for me! Even if i live in sweden ( onlive isn't available in sweden )

You can use a VPN service like Strong VPN to register. Once it is activated, you don't need the VPN, although you need the VPN to buy games/register a credit card. Oddly, it took my non-us credit card when I put my dad's US address as the billing address. Doesn't seem to use address verification. I was able to buy Super Street Fighter IV: AE with my "foreign" non-us card and I got the playpack promo for 30 days free form gamespot. With the playpack 30% discount, AC Brotherhood was $20.99

Can't tell you how excited I was when I heard about this.
Full, new, retail games on my beloved Xperia Play.
Firstly, even on my less than perfect internet connection, the games appear to be work perfect. As far as I can see, there is no noticable button lag at all. That is great!
However, having had a good play of a fair few games though, there are a few problems.
Now these are to be expected, but I didn't really think about them when I head the inital annoucement.
- In a lot of the games the text is a little small to read.
- Controls are a major problem. There simply isn't enough buttons.
- Controls again, a lot of the games don't allow customisation, meaning some functions are inaccessible, and thus, the game unplayable.
- The touch pads are a very poor substitute for an anolog stick. Some games are ok, but most are impossible to control accurately. In fact, I'd rather use the DPAD than the touchpads, though this is an option denied to us in most games.
- All of the above could be solved to a satifactory level by allowing full customisation of controls.
- The onlive app is brilliant, but the text could be somewhat crisper. Looks kind of blurred.
Overall, the games that do work well with the controls work amazingly. Street Fighter for example is great. It is such an amazing thing to be playing these games on a mobile phone. The fact that most games are accompanied by a free trial is definitely something OnLive should be applauded for as it allows us to see what works and what doesn't. I can definitely see myself spending some money in the future!
