I've been rocking naked since day 1 (May 4th), except for when I go golfing, don't want it bangin' around in the cart. Not a scratch or blemish on it, of course I take extreme care of my phone. I check my pockets and surrounding areas before setting my phone down, and always put it in my pocket with the screen toward my leg. I'm not saying it will remain this way forever, but this phone is too nice to be careless with.

No case or screen protector on mine and it's still in mint condition.

Is it just me, or does the image just leap off the screen when you're caseless? Something about the way the glass rolls off the edges makes the display more vibrant with touchable goodness.
But I'm still using the Incase Smooth when at the gym or anywhere it's going to see a lot of action.

You might scratch up the camera lens on the back. A proper case would protect that. I think there was a post though where someone cut out a circle from a screen protector to fix that issue.

I rock it in the nude. I wouldn't consider a screen protector, since it has the gorilla glass 2, but I would really like a pouch sometime soon. I don't like cases since they add so much bulk, it makes no sense to me to buy such a nice, sleek phone, and then ruin it with a monstrous case. Currently, I'm considering this pouch, but as of now have no HUGE desire to buy it.

Mines naked, every phone I ever had I carried around naked. I only use a case when going out on the dirtbike, amusement parks, etc. Not even a scratch bro

Thanks gentlemen.. I think im gonna go naked for a bit but keep my case on deck also..

Rock mine naked. I agree with the fellow who said why buy a slim sleek phone and add a fat suit to it. Makes no sense. And why buy a phone with the best HD screen and put a cloudy screen protector that will get a thousand more times scratched up than the gorilla glass. However I too baby my phone, as my wife won't buy me a new phone if I screw this one up

Hey guys, just broke my HD2 and switched to the G2 and I'm looking for some cheap but good accesories. What have you guys found and liked so far?
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App
what kind of acessories are you looking for?
Pretty much anything from cases, mounts, etc. To screen protectors, misc. Stuff, etc.
Mainly I'm just learnin the lay of the land for this thing since I was on the pandoras bo...er I mean hd2 for a long time now.

Well if you get am otterbox, it comes with an awesome screen protector.
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA Premium App
I personally like the bodyguardz brand skin for protection.
Currently using the otterbox. Feels great and worth the price but know that you must not take the case on and off repeatedly. Only do it when u need it
Dock wise, go ebay. It's ur best bet
Mounts wise, you'll have to go universal.
That's all i can tell u off the top of my head
Sent from my Desire Z via XDA App
Thanks, ill probably go with an otterbox because I loved the one I used with my iphone back in the day. Unless...does it have that same rubbery finish which makes fuzz and lint stick to it like glue?
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App
it's plastic finish. there is a silicone lining inside that makes life awesome when you need to access your volume control or power button. it also provides cover for open ports (headphones and power) so it's a good thing it's there.
Oh wow that literally sounds perfect. Ill order one this week I think.
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App
Sure, but as i said, once you put the case on, try not to take the case on and off often or you will break a few teeth (on the case) and might scratch your phone if you're not careful.
Sent from my Desire Z via XDA App
Sounds good. Thanks for the input!!
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App
As far as a car mount goes, I tried a cheap one off eBay and it didn't last very long. I found a Bracketron universal mount at Best Buy, well worth the $20. It's lasted me a few months so far, with no signs of breaking.
Case-mate barely there gets my vote. Otterboxes are just overpriced. Also the case-mate is removable without damaging your phone or the case itself.

I had a few other cheap cases in the past that broke on me from taking them on and off, but this one is pretty dam good. Gives good protection and you can take it off no problem with out breaking the clips. It looks just like the case mate but is less then 1/4 the price, overall it does the job and won't hurt the pockets.
Hey i have got the same HTC Desire Z with the same ROM and build number, its locked to vodafone australia though. Have you been able to root that firmware version. I tried the methods on the posts and cyanogen and they dnt seem to work for my version. have you been able to root your version? If so please help

So much for Gorilla Glass..

My phone was just knocked off a coffee table onto a rug...
Must have met up with a grain of sand. I'm going to see that every time I look at the phone now...
Lesson learned? Use screen protector, even if you hate the rubbery feel
(tried my best to get a picture of it... pretty difficult to focus on)
I work in general construction. Meaning, dirt and saw dust is constantly flying around. I messed up in not buying a screen protector, and now the screen has a few hair line scratches that are only visible in certain lighting and at certain angles.
I don't really care though, cause I have SquareTrade insurance.
ahhh man i'm sorry . . mines got a few scratches on it which pisses me off everytime i see them, i don't even get how the screen got scratched. but that's just phones nowdays if you don't get a huge otterbox case stuffs gonna go down =/ F an otterbox case tho what's the point of the slimmest phone if we gotta do that?!
I recently dropped my phone as well with a case on, wasn't much help, the screen got chipped. however after examining it further, it seems that the screen has been treated with a gloss or some kind of finish on top of the glass. This may explain the scratching issue. It's really the gloss or finish that's being scratched off.

So I have been contemplating exchanging this phone for another because the lower plastic rear cover sticks out slightly on one side (was that way out of the box)... and I like my expensive things to be as perfect condition as possible (ironic, right?)
Think this damage to the glass will completely kill my chances of Amazon swapping out the phone?
Idk about amazon but I know T-Mobile wouldn't mention it especially if its not cracked cracked

If you don't like the rubbery feel look up realook screen protectors on amazon you can't even tell they are there had one on my vibrant for 2 years before I got my one s and it still looks ok considering the abuse I put it through. I have one on both my wifes and my one s's and she can't tell it's there either.
Sent from my HTC VLE_U using Tapatalk 2
I had a Vibrant with Gorilla Glass that lasted 2 years without a screen protector and did not have a scratch on it. I thought my new One S would be the same.
Instead, after only 2 days - never having dropped it and with the phone only residing in my pocket (not the same pocket with my keys and change), my One S somehow got a hairline scratch on the screen.
I have since put a screen protector on it - though I much prefer not having one on it. Every time I see the scratch, I still get annoyed.
My advice to anyone considering buying a One S - before you even leave the store, invest in a screen protector.
Geesh.. makes me wonder if Sony's "scratch resistant" glass is actually any more durable..
I wasn't going to place a protector on my One S... but this changed my mind.
That's why you get a screen protector and a shell case right out of the box. If you are that particular about your expensive phone, it is well worth the extra cash. I got a shell case for mine and a screen protector as soon as I got my one s. Also helps resale value later if you have no scratches on it anyplace. X) I love my phone!

From the pictures on the site, the feather looks exactly the same except the bottom part looks like it wraps around a bit further and the top has an extra piece that covers the middle section between the headphone jack and the power button.
Just ordered a feather. Will report back when I get it.

It is almost flush with the camera lens, MAYBE a little bit thicker. If you lay the phone down on its back it definitely does keep the camera lens off the table, there is like a .5mm gap that I can see through. So yes, but not by much.

Got mine today. A bit pricy imo, I try to not spend more than $10 on a case. Keeps the thin profile and the material actually makes the phone easier to grip. I like the fact that the front portion is flushed with the phone(not good for ppl who like putting their phones face down). Probably gonna be switching between this case and the Amzer case. Really liking it.

They don't have a white case and I couldn't decide between buying the gray or the black for my white HOX. Finally settled on getting the gray one (I figured it didn't really matter since I'm planning on having a few cases sitting around to swap as my mood changes).
I've never been a huge fan of any soft plastc/silicone since they are huge dust and hair magnets. I have a jack russell and this thing loves to attract hair and pet dander.

Anyone not running a screen protector?

I jus took off my zag hd bc it felt so damn grippy. And I must say I'm kinda falling in love with this phone all over again. Feels so much more responsive. Someone reassure me that it's ok to go protector less. I have 2 cases to kinda protect it.

USE A SCREEN PROTECTOR!! GORILLA GLASS OR NOT. you'll be sorry when it finally does scratch. dont use zagg i took mine off and used a cheapo ebay one works perfect
I used one with my iPhone 3G and never really liked the rubbery feel. When I got my iPhone 4, I couldn't bear to put anything on that screen. I felt the same way with my HOX. The screen is just too damn nice to cover up with anything. I'm getting some microscratches but they are only visible in direct sunlight, so it doesn't bother me much.
Get a protector. Mine scratched (had it for a month). It wasn't major but keys and phone in same pocket dont go well. Even if you try to avoid it.. eventually it will happen. Small light scratches

This is a good point. If you're going bareback, you need to be more careful. My HOX gets a pocket to itself--nothing else goes in there.
No protector since day-one, little hairlines are all over the screen. They're so innocuous that it has to be off and in the sunlight for me to see, but they're there, and I'm pretty sure it's only going to get worse over the next 8+ months I that I'll have the phone before moving on.
I'm very, VERY picky about scuffs and whatnot, I carry this thing by itself in my pockets and never place it face down, I can only assume the screen has something against expensive dress-slack pockets.
My Evo 4G and Evo 3D both went a year in the same conditions with absolutely none of these little hairline scuffs, and that's the only part about it that really gets me. My Evo 4G screen actually cracked (dropped a PSP on it from only about a foot, but the metal corner hit and it was toast) and I replaced it myself with an OEM screen (fingers were crossed) and even that screen never saw a single scuff mark.
I'm getting one of those full-body clear application things. We'll see how that goes.
*insert obligatory "this has been talked about" post*
Now that it's out of the way. It's seriously a YMMV thing. Absolutely no scratches on my HOX. And absolutely no scratches on my old Skyrocket.
Sporting the otterbox defender with no screen protector and always in clip when not in use.
No screen protector, no case. I HATE screen protectors, they completely ruin the feel of the screen.
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
I don't like cases or screen protectors. They ruin the look and feel of the phone. Cases make it fat, no matter how thin they are. Screen protectors ruin the smooth slick feel of the screen, and remove some visual quality, no matter how good the protector is.
Same with my old Sensation, no protector, but it wasn't scratched.
All it takes is common sense. Don't put the phone in the same pocket as your keys etc...
I never put my phone in my pocket. I use a side pouch.

I didn't use one on my captivate, and didn't have any issues thanks to a case that kept the glass off surfaces. I've got the same thing with this, plus gorilla glass. I'm sure it'll be fine if you're not completely reckless!

I think that some people buy the wrong screen protectors. I can't even tell mine is there and it actually makes it easier for my finger to slide across the screen.

I wanted to see how many people use screen protectors . If they don't will it scratch easily or has anyone have any scratches because I hate my screen protector and I would to use it with out it but I dont wanna have scratches
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
I don't use one, I did on my previous phones. I always hated the way the screen protectors felt compared to the bare glass.
The only scratches I have are from dropping my phone on the street, they are more like little nicks in the screen than
scratches. Now that I already have some, I don't think I'll put a screen protector on. I do have a screen protector that came
with my Otterbox if I feel like putting one on.
I figure that by the time I need a new phone, I'll already have a job and enough money to buy a new phone, so I don't feel like
babying this phone too much.
I've been rockin mine completely naked since release back in may.. hardly any scratches, only noticeable in a well lit area with the screen off at a certain angle. My phone went face first on the cement and slid about 7 inches, and I also dropped mine and I slid across my wood floors and still nothing.
However my buddy has deep scratches that can catch a fingernail. Someone else I know dropped his and the screen cracked from about a foot off the ground..

You should be good as long as you don't put it in your pocket with your keys or anything that can scratch it. Also, remember to lightly get most of the dust off before you wipe off finger prints. That way you won't get any small hairline scratches. If you're careful you should be good without one.

I've always preferred naked.
Having said that I've damaged a few too.
If u want to resell, use a cover for the back and a protector for the screen.
The polycarbonate backing within a few days started to show marking.
The screen has a very feint hairline scratch down the middle, but it hasn't been dropped & I'm very careful with handling it.
I'm yet to find covers or protectors that keep the phone looking good as nude, but if u want it looking good as new u wanna cover it up.

I looked up closest ghost armor retailer and had them install the clear ghost armor on the screen and the black carbon weave armor on the back.
I originally had them put a white one on the back as my X is white, but went back and they changed it to a black one for me at my request. Looks good in white an black.
Cost of two pieces installed was 20 bucks, 5 bucks if I ever need a half replaced for life of phone.

I have never used a screen protector. When I bought my One X I was talked into the Zagg protector from an AT&T employee, It wasn't bad but after it started getting hot here in AZ, I pulled it out of my pocket and the screen protector was slidin around. So I took it off. Havn't bothered to replce it and actualy like it better without.
I have always preferred naked phones.
I have never found a screen protector that doesn't make the phone less responsive or make the screen less crisp.
Looking at your phone wrong can cause the One X screen to scratch. (See the thread in the general section, or just Google One X screen scratch)
Others have recommended the Zagg HD screen protector, but I haven't tried one myself.
