[MOD][APP] Camera Modded (Better Quality, etc...) :D

Hello Friends,
Here i am with another mod for u guys which is worth having in every device and ROM....
So First BIG THANX TO rafalense for the post on modifying the camera app....
Thanx to him a lot, without him it was not at all possible...
THIS ONLY WORKS ON STOCK CUSTOM ROMS..... DOESN'T WORK ON CM..... SO DONT TRY IT IF U R ON CM.....
So Changes i have made to the MOD:
audio frequency increased from 16000Hz to 44100Hz
audio channels increased from mono(1 channel) to stereo(2 channel)
superfine quality has been increased heavily
audio bitrate increased to 128kbps AAC
maximum framerate has been increased to 30fps(its variable bitrate so u wont get 30fps everytime)

Just download THIS file and copy it to ur sdcard and reboot to CWM recovery and flash it....
U R DONE....

dude download the zip file and extract it and then open the extracted folder after that connect your phone to the usb (don't go into USB mode) then open the file that has file name install, wait for a sec and then it's done
And I don't know if it works on other ROMs but I'm pretty sure that it will work.

connect ur mobile with the data cable and press "instll" file in the extracted zip and ur done

Camera icon disappears...
Need help!!!!!
When I run the install.bat file My camera app from the phones drawer disappears.
And When I try to launch camera from gallery it force closes.

I am having the same problem. Though I can see the camera app in system via root explorer but there's no camera app in app drawer. So how to make it run now. I have tried it on cm7.1 and 7.2 and got the same problem.

Same problem didnt work in both cm7.1 and cm7.2 removes camera app but on install othee camera app it works

I think the camera app might have got freezer, though I haven't tried this ..but I'm pretty sure that it must have freezer...so use titanium backup or similar app to defrost the app!...

Backup the stock camera.apk before tryin this.....
Installation Procedure :
Downlaod the zip file and xtract it
Connect your Mobile to the computer using Data cable
Click install.bat file in the xtracted folder
Enjoyyy.....

dont try to install it directly... either push it via adb or replace via root explorer or make a zip file and flash it via CWM

try recording a video and compare it with stock video.... u would notice an adverse change

Whipped this up today, I quite like it, enjoy!
Download bootanimation.zip
Download flashable zip
Installation:
- flashable zip: boot into recovery, flash, reboot
- regular zip: just copy it into /system/media using a root browser (I recommend and use ROM Toolbox Pro) after making a backup of your existing bootanimation.zip, and make sure the permissions are rw-r--r--

Post if successful... I tried changing the fps from 30 to 20, re-zipped, but couldn't get it to work at 20 fps.

rpr69, I was able to slow down your bootanimation.zip to 10 fps (instead of 30 fps)... liking the slower rotation. I used Boot Animation Factory on my PC and just recreated a new bootanimation.zip from your pngs... then dropped the 10 fps bootanimation into your flashable zip (attached for anyone interested). Thanks again for this creation.

Android 4.2 Camera & Gallery

Ported Android 4.2 Camera & Gallery never tested yet but maybe you wanted to give this shot.
Or you can download here: Android 4.2 Camera & Gallery
Move to system/app folder in Root Explorer and make sure the set permissions to RW-R-R then reboot.

Edit: I'm using scott 10/22 build everything works except camera sphere. You can rename also ff on system/app/gallery2.apk and gallery4.apk to whatever like gallery2.bak or gallery4.bak to backup your old camera and galery

I'm looking at page-13 of original androidcentral link and read this:

We patched the Camera to stop checking for compatible phones when starting Photo Sphere - it should work on all devices now.

That means that I had to update my zip.
What should be working now is:
1. Panorama.
2. Photosphere. (requires gyroscope?)
3. Photo editing.
4. and the ordinary photo/video stuff.
5. Should work on ALL phones.
That means what doesn't work is:
1. Sphereview
Dev-Host - 4.2Camera_t02.zip - The Ultimate Free File Hosting / File Sharing Service

I believe this is the final version of the apk without to do anything with those lib*.so files mentioned in comment#3 of the post.
UPDATE: I just flashed the zip from the link(after renaming gallery2.apk and galaxy4.apk). It works like charm on my Infuse running scott's 10/27 cm10 build. PhotoSphere is also working(I noticed that phone gets little warm while using that feature, but other than that it's fine).

STEPS for installing Android 4.2 Camera/Gallery(with photosphere)
1. Go to /system/app(use root explorer or similar), rename galaxy4.apk and gallery2.apk to galaxy4.bak and gallery2.bak
2. Download flashable zip

4. Flash the zip you downloaded in step-2
5. Wipe cache and Dalvik cache(in advanced) and Reboot system now
Boom, you will see new camera and gallery app in app drawer. Also, you may notice that lockscreen camera shortcut might now work, no worries, just re-configure it to new camera app in Settings-> Lock Screen-> Slider Shortcut

The photosphere works and to view it after u make one flip or finger from right to left on screen and u see it

It doesn't fully work. If you try to capture a picture in a text or any other app, the option to save the picture doesn't exist. You can re-shoot. But you can't get past the image of the picture you took. It never lets you attach it.

Is there a trick to using this, as in getting a successful sphere photo? I can never seem to get it to render properly, it looks all out of sync

Its not the app most of the functionality relys on your movements, so try to steady your hands as much as possible and try to line up the rectangles the best to you ability

Can't Get Gallery to Open.
I downloaded the files and placed then in the system/app folder. Changed the permissions and the camera works fine, but the gallery doesn't open. When I hit the gallery icon it says "Unfortunately Gallery has stopped." I've tried reinstalling and several other avenues and end up with the same results. Is anyone else having this issue?

I actually did flashed it in my HTC Sensation xl but now cannot get rid of it. As my phone does not see in the root were it is. Also comparing to the HTC cameras it has no quality at all.

I am on scott's Cm10 10/21 build and tried both the original and the patched zip files and I am still having issues with the 720p HD stuttering.

I've been using the Android 4.2 camera for a couple weeks without any problems. Thank you.

Stock Music player needed...

While i was fiddling with some apps through Titanium backup i deliberately wiped stock music player app. I do have a backup(done via Titanium Backup) of the same but i cannot restore it the way i backed it up. Can someone please help me to get the apk file of Samsung Stock music player app... ?
And also the method through which i can install or restore it in working condition ? Any help will be appreciated.
I really liked the sound customizations of stock music player app which is even greater in stock Samsung JB music player app. Someone help me get either ICS or JB Samsung stock music player app which should be compatible with my Galaxy R.

Delete odex file of music player app if exists.
Flash it in recovery. If it doesnt get installed then extract the apk file and install it like normal apk or push it to system/app/ and set permissions.

Use any root explorer (say solid explorer)
Go to root folder -> system -> app
there you will find MusicPlayer.odex file. delete it.

You just need to copy and paste the apk file from your sdcard to system/app folder.
here is about how you set permissions
In this case you need to set permissions as 0644 (-rw-r--r--)
P.S. Flashing the zip file i attached will do everything. Manual procedure is just incase if it doesnt work.

I flashed it through CWM although it plays the song but none of the sound effects are working... and the player itself keep crashing once in a while.
Are you also using the same version of that ? Is this compatible with our SGR?

Yes I am using the same. For me it crashes only when i press 'End' button in options. Else it works flawlessly. For you It is crashing oftenly may be because you didnt delete odex file! Equilizer doesnt works, it is a known bug. Visit this thread.
If you dont like this S3 music player. i can upload stock one also!

SGS3 music player is great. I was using it for a while on ICS.

I wanted that stock player for Equalizer only if it won't work then its of no use to me. I uses Galaxy Tab 2 which has the same music player as SGS3 and i really like its Equalizer very much but i can't use tab for my music needs everywhere, that's why i wanted it in my SGR.
Anyway could u please upload Stock Music player of Galaxy R ?

if you desperately need that music player only, then you need to reflash rom.
else you could also give a try to MiUi Music player. Equilizer works flawlessly and Music player is awesome.

Flashing the ROM is the last thing i'd do coz i'm too lazy to do all that backup and restoration thing. I'd try this Miui player.. thanks for that

Here is logcat
it wasnt mentioned hence i took 2 logcats
1) during pushing file to system only (logcat1) (ignore following if this is sufficient)
2) first one followed by reboot (logcat2)
