Unfortunately, the process com.android.phone has stopped. - HTC Sensation

Pretty much the title. I've been using Virtuous Inquisition 4.0.1 since it was fist released (a very very long time ago). Haven't made any changes, no new flashes, no new apps etc. Out of nowhere I keep getting this message. Pops up every few seconds no matter what I do, restarted, shut down, batter pull etc. Anyone have any idea what's going on?
Thanks in advance

Solved it, wiped the data in contacts storage and it went back to normal. No idea why this worked but it did.
If anyone else has this problem, hope this helps you.

Wifi error/not working Sensation ICS 6.5.1

When I first booted up WiFi worked for about 2 minutes. Found my home network, connected...appeared all was well.
Then suddenly it stopped and now it'll just read Turning Wi-Fi On... indefinitely. Eventually it'll say error.
Originally superwiped before flashing ROM, flashed the suggested radio.
I tried clearing cache and dalvik, didn't help.
My phone hates wifi apparently. Wi-Fi being junk is the reason I rooted in the first place. Was hoping this'd fix it. The fact that it's "intermittent" makes me wonder if it really is a hardware fault.
Any ideas?
Android Version: 4.0.3
Sense: 3.6
Android Revolution 6.5.1 by mike1986
Kernel: 3.0.16 SebastionFM #1
Hboot- 1.27.1100
Radio- 11.22.3504.07_M
Tried a factory restart w/ sim pulled, still nothing.
The odd thing is how it worked at first when I booted up..then stopped functioning alltogether.
I had the EXACT same thing happen to me this morning. I went to bed last night and wifi was working great. This morning when I took it off the charger I noticed that wifi wasn't running. Tried turning it on an it wouldn't turn on. I thought it may be a glitch so I tried restarting. No change. Realized I had fastboot checked so restarted without it. No change.
If I go to the Settings menu under the icon to switch on wifi it says error. When I try and turn it on it has the message about turning on wifi for a few minutes and then the switch turns off. I also noticed that it is draining my battery VERY fast (most likely because it is continually trying to to turn on wifi)
Not sure what happened or what would cause this. I'm running ARHD 6.2.1.
I was planning on upgrading this afternoon after work to 6.5.1. Hopefully this new wifi issue doesn't get in the way of that...
Any help would be appreciated.

You need to update your firmware first!
In ARHD thread Mike1986 states: 3.32.401.x firmware is required! So go to this tread and get the necessary firmware and you wouldn't have any wifi issues.
I'm also running 6.5.1 and have wifi on for almost the entire day without any problems!
Thanks for the reply BioTeck. I can't speak for BrokenWiFi but for me I've been running on 6.2.1 for about 2 weeks no (with the suggested firmware for that version) and haven't had a problem. Then all of the sudden this morning it started having this problem.
Any suggestions on what I can try? This evening I plan on upgrading firmware to latest as well as upgrading to 6.5.1 so I'm hoping that helps but are there any other suggestions I can try?

That's strange indeed!
If I were you I would try to flash the latest version of ARHD 6.5.1 and see how that goes? For me 6.5.1 is rock stable, fast and it feels smooth!

I did update it originally.
I decided to go through again...I just downloaded 3.32.401 from that thread...flashed it, superwiped and installed ROM. Still no dice. It reads all the same as it did before in the "software information" area.
I don't think I could have booted w/o that firmware correct? I'm coming from gingerbread originally...
Am I missing something?
Thanks a ton for helping me, I really really really really appreciate it.
Strange.... Apparently it's an ICS bug and has been posted here!
[09Jan]Turning on Wi-Fi gives an error after flashing hacked Kernel
This seems to happen if you flash the 4.0.1 kernel on a 4.0.3 ROM, make sure you've flashed the correct kernel for your ROM base and cleared both cache and dalivk after flashing.

On the ARHD thread, there seems other to have the same problem. Some of them solved the problem by reflashing. Perhaps you can try that as well and post this problem in ARHD's thread as well...

This happen to me way way long ago, back during the series 3 ARHD. After going through many things, a simple rom reflash fixed it for me.
I was never able to figure out why. I asked around in here and else where and there were some talk of it back then with a few tips for solution, which did not work.
As far as I could tell, that was the only time ever that I flashed a rom without turning off wifi before rebooting into recovery. I have since then diligently turn off wifi before flashing anything. Never encountered the problem again.
P.s. I recalled reading something about how the wifi is stuck on "On", while the rom trying to turn something that's already On, On and errored itself.

Wanted to update on my progress. I solved the issue on my phone:
I was messing around with it today while waiting for a meeting to start and I found where the wifi settings, etc are stored. It ended up being a corrupt/invalid wpa_supplicant.conf file. All I had to do was pull that file out from the directory and turn on wifi and *poof* it worked again. When I turned wifi on it created a new file and everything has been great so far this afternoon.
In case anyone wants to give it a shot who is having wifi issues you can find the wpa_supplicant.conf file in /data/misc/wifi/ directory on your phone. Simply cut/rename the file and put it somewhere else. If you have wifi passwords you want to save, you can open the original file using a text editor and copy the settings over to the new file.
I believe the cause of my issue was actually Titanium Backup. Looking at the last time it backed up my wifi settings was back when I wasn't running ICS yet. Yesterday I did restore an app using it and must have accidentally restored that old backup. Their formats are different from Gingerbread to ICS apparently and it was causing errors.

Unfortunately after reading your latest post, Broken WiFi, I don't know that the fix that worked for me applies to you but just in case --> Are you using (or did you use) Titanium Backup to restore any of your apps? Is it possible you have a corrupt file as well? Obviously you are wiping out that file when you superwipe so I don't think you have the same issue but it is probably worth checking.
Funny, it worked!
I had a feeling the supplicant was the problem..
In my last rom it wouldn't let me touch anything in /data even though I was SU and S-OFF.....
So I'd just delete the one in /system... but it never helped.
Wooooooooooooooooooooooooooohooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
Seriously, I've spent like 15 hours troubleshooting this...reading every thread on the net.
Never thought to try and delete the one in /data in this rom.
THANK YOU so very very much.
I can't post in DEV, but maybe you could let some people know over there that it's a fix.
I copied wpa_supplicant.conf from gb miui and it seems to be working for now, will test it some more..
Sounds like hardware..I had a problem with what turned out to be the battery cover, it has the antennas built in to it.. changed this and was good again. Worked for me..

After deleting the above suggest file, my wifi no longer says "turning on" but says error. If I hit turn on, it reverts back to constantly saying "turning on".

One thing you might try doing is deleting it and then try restarting the phone. That would be the next step I would do. If it doesn't work then you might have to start looking into a hardware or rom issue.
After you try deleting and then restart if that doesn't work I'd back everything up and try flashing your rom again.

I did try to cut/delete/rename the file through ES File Explorer and Super manager but the file doesn't move/delete/rename. Plus for some reason this file is under "/etc/wifi/" instead of "/data/misc/wifi/" /data is an empty folder in my phone. Maybe you are using different explorer?
By the way , I've updated my phone with OTA_PYRAMID_ICS_HTC_Europe_3.32.401.5-1.50.401.1_P_release_246627z7pljztztog0er50. I've deleted the file and restarted many times, Wifi will say OFF or ERROR, i will try to turn it on and the same problem occurs, stuck saying "turning on". I've reflashed rom and firmware many times using different kernels and techniques etc. I can't believe it to be hardware related as everything was fine with version 6.3.1 and firmware 3.30... then updated to 6.5.1 and 3.32.. fine again however a couple of hours later WiFi was off and continued to say "turning on". I'm going to try to downgrade to 6.3.1 and 3.30 again to see if that helps..
I've having the same problem. I updated to firmware 3.32 and ROM ARHD 6.5.1 last Saturday and WiFi seemed to be working until yesterday. Today it won't work at all - I can't make or receive calls and had to move the SIM card to a Blackberry curve so I could get some work done.
Tonight I tried deleting the wifi supplicant file posted earlier and that seems to help for one or two calls then it's back to no calls at all. So then I wiped the cache and devlik cache and tried again. That may have helped, but I'm not sure yet.
I'm starting to see a real trend in these WiFi issues. There have been a lot of threads about it lately. I don't know what is causing the problem though.
I had my WiFi shut off again today with the same issue. The fix I posted earlier worked again but having to do this every few days is not going to be acceptable...
I REALLY am enjoying ics and arhd 6 but I'm afraid between this WiFi problem and the fact that T-Mobile WiFi calling doesnt work I might be going back to gingerbread...

[Q] Phone keeps rebooting on latest CM12 nightly.

Hey guys I have a very annoying problem and I was wondering if anyone could help me. I flashed the latest CM12 Nightly (8th March) today using Cyandelta but since i flashed and rebooted my phone stays on for barely 10 seconds before rebooting again and this is a cycle that my phone has ben going through for the last 2 hours. I tried wiping the cache and Dalvik but the problem is still there, I turned off all connections on my phone (put it in airplane mode) and it still reboots. Any help would be greatly appreciated because there's this girl I was having a really good conversation with but can't now because my phone refuses to stay alive.
Have you tried clean flashing yet? That should be the first thing to do before creating a thread.

I have the same problem after clean instal on the same build after changing my theme. that's realy strange.
edit: I have reinstalled the latest cm build again (clean instal with google apps) and then I switched a theme againe and the first time it worked this time and it rebooted once after changing (that's new I think) and than I rechanged tha theme and it rebooted againe and than it keeps rebooting (it's not a bootloop because it boot up and than always soft reboot again) so it is definitly a bug in the theme engine of the last (20150308 build) I think.

Hi,
I have a Oneplus One that keeps rebooting, it only goes to the home screen for 2 to 3 seconds and then reboots again, so....I am at a loss for what to do. I sent a ticket into to oneplus. I have never done anything to the phone since opening the box, I have only let it do it´s automatic updates when they became available, I don´t even know which cyanogen update it´s on. (bought it July 2014).
P.S I have been reading terms such as "rooted", dirty flash, flash, ect...I have no idea what these things mean so if anyone helps me, you will have to explain step by step. I guess you can call me a "cellphone dummy".
Thanks in advance
On my Samsung GT-I9100, CM12 will reboot when I wake the phone from a lock screen. So I delayed the Sleep to 30min. Not a permanent solution but it gives me time to figure out something to solve the issue once for all.

Lineage OS - problem with wifi and HDR.

Hello everyone.
I have 2 problems with LineageOS on Oneplus One.
First HDR does not work properly. I can not do a photo with HDR enabled.
My another problem is with WIFI. Many times I have lost connection to internet without report, and I must reconnect manually. My phone is connected to router but without internet. It is very annoying problem for me.
I fashed:
lineage-14.1-20170206-nightly-bullhead-signed.zip,
Gapps Android 7.1/Lineage os ARM Pico ( other did not work because of low free space of disk. I have 50 gb free. Weird )
Latest Super Su.zip
I flashed them all at once. Was it good idea? Or I should flash them separately ?
Of course I did clean wipe before installation and Wipe Dalvik, cache after installation.
Thanks for replies
Same issue with the Wifi here
Well, I flashed again system, gapps (pico) and root but now in sequences.
- flashed room (after wiped dalvik/cache)
- reboot to recovery
- flashed Gapps ( after wiped dalvik/cache)
- reboot to recovery
- start phone
- reboot to recovery
- install root
Now everything works fine Even wifi so problem is solved.
Maybe someone will solve his problem by my guide.
That didn't work for me.
Anyone with another idea?
The "heartbeat fixer for gcm" app seems to be doing the trick for me.
For hdr; go to play store and download cyan apps app and go inside, download camera(basicly it updates the camera app to the latest version and hdr will be fine)
For wifi; i have whole topic about it. This problem happens rr remix tugapower and lineage(those 3 are the only ones i tried so i dont know if it happens on different roms) and i kinda fix this by installing c7 modem(it only happens like twice in a week or not at all) so maybe you guys want to check it out. @mad.maximo
Thanks! Flashing the radio firmware seems to have solved it.
Great!

The low free space warning message is related to the filesystem (/system) where GApps had to be installed. /system size is fixed (about 1.3 GB) and it cannot be easily resized. Even more, a full block-based OTA ROM update will potentially restore default /system size. So I will stay with Pico GApps, IMHO the best choice.
Thank you alot
I solved issue with wifi. I do not use HDR so rom is stable for me

Hello @zaoms please help me with this. I was on CM 13 and my oneplus one started hanging so I decided to do a factory reset. I did that. After the reset I had a new problem, the WiFi dropping one. I was very frustrated as it would drop every 8-10 mins. And then reconnect. I googled but no solution provided worked. So I decided to change the ROM since CM was down and I wasn't going to receive any updates.
A couple of days ago, I shifted to lineage os 14.1. But now I have a new problem, the WiFi doesn't drop now. It stays connected but every once in a while, it'll not share any data. It stays connected but the internet service won't work. I saw your solution and I flashed the c7 modem as you said yesterday, but I'm still having the problem.
Please help me, I'm very frustrated because I lose connectivity during games or while chatting or even downloading.
Thanks in advance.

Well the only thing about this problem is flashing c7 modem. But there is 2 types of c7 modem one is 00013 which is my recomend and the other one is 00011. Make sure that you flashed 00013 one and if it still exist you can try different modems from the modem topic. Let me know the results.

I flashed 00013, from the link you provided in this thread. I'll observe for a couple more days and if it doesn't work I'll flash 00011 and let you know. Thanks

Hey Buddy! I've observed it for 4 days now. Wifi stopped twice till now. That's better than before. Let me know if there's a permanent fix though.
There's another problem, my Oneplus One gestures aren't working.

Cool! I am using c7 and thats is the most you get. At least i cant find any better. But in time you will see it will happen even rare. I dont had not even single in a 2 weeks from now i guess. About the gestures, i am using the 2102 lineage os build(which is deleted for some reason) and it is working flawlessly. Which means it will be okay with next update so just wait until the new build arrives(about in 2-3 days) and i guess you should be fine.

Phone randomly crash

Hello guys! First of all, sorry for my bad English.
Since this morning, my phone started crashing, and I don't know why. I didn't changed any module since yesterday and I've tried uninstalling magisk, changing kernel and so on, and nothing worked. The last thing that i wanna do is a factory reset so if somebody could figure out what is the problem based on this logcat that i did on the exact moment of the crash, it would be much appreciated!
Just go to paste ubuntu dot com and add /p/VyYQvpV72Q

Could you provide more info? What rom and what version? Did you install an app before it started crashing?

Running stock Oxygen Open Beta 9, with Blu Spark kernel and Magisk 18. At the moment, i'm reporting crashes opening facebook, gmail, SD Maid, root explorer, but it is very random, and i'm logging everything and the problem seems to be a NullPointerException at process com.android.server.am.OnePlusJankManager, but i still could not figure out what this process does. In standby mode it does not crash, tried playing brawlstars and works fine...

What the hell, now i've tried with SD Maid a full cleanup, it removed about 3 Gb of junk and seems to be working fine!
same happens to me.
I'm on the same version (Oxygen Open Beta 9), but with stock kernel and no root at all.
I couldn't figure out a way to fix that yet

I went to the stable version and gave hard reset and solved ..... just try the hard reset and see what it gives
As I said, after I did a cleanup with sd maid my phone stopped crashing, but after a few days again it started to crash, and once again I did a cleanup and seems to be fixed. But I don't know why this happens
How many Rom updates did you have without factory reset?

Only one update from beta 9 to 10 because i did a fresh installation via Fastboot after I tried to install MIUI. And anyways, I still had experienced crashes before. I also tried debloat with a script but nothing. For now it works just fine, but it's very random. I can't replicate the problem now, but maybe in a few days it will start again, and all I can see is crash at jankmanager (I see a lot of logs of that crash into /data/system/dropbox)
