Any way to gain access to banned sites (GEMA issue) - Asus Transformer TF700

Hey guys, i hope everybody is doing fine.
My issue is that because i will live in Germany for 3 months, i would like to use my Grooveshark application there too but it seems that germany blocked grooveshark. I am not asking anything illegal just would like to know if there's a way to beat it? (Like ProxMate add on for Firefox in
Windows)
Thanks in advance..

You can just use a proxy server in numerous ways. One of them is tap and hold on your wifi connection in the settings - modify - advanced - add your proxy.

Yea i can connect to my home wifi and other peoples wifi i just cant get any info from my schools wifi sending or reciving. Do you think it could be the port that android hose through?
Still need help/ bump
The schools wifi may be using leap to verify you on the network. I believe you can install a program that allows you to configure these settings.
Why not ask the schools administration about it? If the school has a tech support department, they may be able to tell you why.

Hey, i think your skool has a VPN Connection, try useing the VPN app on your phone, but it requires a username and password, also try your school ID for the login, hope it works

I think maybe it can help,do not forget the three letters(w)!
if your school provided the net book then they probably have MAC address security enabled. That's as much help as I am going to give you with bypassing their security
Best of luck

[Q] Couple of newbie questions ?

Hi guys ...
I rooted my xoom , but still market enabler , and market access doesn`t work.
1- Is there an another way to make them work ? or do you know what my problem is ? (i`m using 3.1 )
2 - Is there a way to fake Amazon appstore ?
3 -How to change xoom dns ?
Thank you guys ....
As for question two...no way that I have found unless you have a credit card with a US billing address.
If anyone has found a way I would also love to hear it.
Question 3, you can set your own primary and secondary dns if you set up a static IP under advanced settings in wifi setup.

[Q] How to share Tor or other anti-filtering apps on your PC through Ad-Hoc network

Hi you guys.
I have recently bought my Asus Transformer and I have a question.
I live in a country where internet is highly filtered and the access to Facebook, Youtube and many websites are restricted. I have bypassed the filtering by installing Tor on my PC and it’s working fine.
However, I wonder, is there any way to connect my Asus Transformer to my PC through ad-hoc to use Tor (or perhaps any other anti-filtering tools) and connect to those restricted websites? I guess it has something to do with Proxy settings but I really have no idea about how to get it done. It would really mean a lot to me and many others if someone can help me with this.
You can try orbit, it's a Tor-browser for android.
I think it allows you to select apps that will use the tor-tunnel. I'm guessing you just select the facebook-app, and use it like you normally would.

Actually, it's orbot not orbit I used it on my phone, it was ok. I don't know if it's working on honeycomb, try it.
You are absolutely right aibo. My bad

[Q] Problem with Splashtop Remote Desktop/Ad Blocking

I'm trying to track down a weird issue.
On any ROM I try, if ads are blocked, my Splashtop Remote Desktop app will crash after 2-3 minutes. (Mainly when I'm trying to connect to computers at work. Both locally and remotely)
I can fix the problem by copying a default hosts file instead of a custom one. My question is... Does anyone know any lines in the ad-blocking files that could be causing this? It would be nice to have adblocking and splashtop, too!
Thanks
this problem sounds config specific, and probably occurs when your phones attempts to contact an external ip within the application and fails after several attempts, so it crashes. you would manually have to go through the custom host file and remove suspicious looking entries. It may also be that your dhcp as set up at work (im assuming remote access is vpn?) is I'll configured to contradicts ad blocking. Either way there is no quick fix or specific entry is can recommend. Part of the problem is that there are too many variables that only u know. Sorry bud.
Kinda what I figured. Odd thing is, it happens on the lge network connection when connecting home, where I know the ports are right
At some point I might try adding hosts a few at a time to see what happens

That's the only real solution man.
Sidenote: Have you tried splashtop on a tablet? Does the bigger screen reduce quality of video??

Splashtop Internet Discovery
I have the same problem. I use the MyCloud splashtop app too. When I go into settings and internet discovery, I enter my credentials and click sign in but nothing happens. If I can't get this fixed soon I will have to figure a way to go back to 4.1.
I have the same problem, I think it's a bug in the app (also it's a pretty old version). I ended up buying SlashtopHD, it's optimized for tablets, works great with the keyboard dock and is on sale for $8. Discovery works great, even over 3G.:good:

Small question: Why did you buy the general tablet version, and not the Tegra 3 optimised THD version specifically meant for the TF700?
What is the specialized version for the tf700 under?

[Problem Description]
Since the 4.2.1 update. The Splashtop (MyDesktop) under MyCloud has not been
working completely. It works well through local networks, but, under settings and
internet discovery, when I enter my google credentials and click sign in, nothing
happens. It will not attempt to sign in. There are no errors saying my credentials are
invalid. It just sits there. Then when I back out of the menu and come back the
password is missing again. I have the original splashtop app on my phone and
installed it on the tablet and it functions fine through internet discovery although not
nearly as tablet friendly as the stock version through MyCloud.
This feature is a main function for productivity with the tablet and if necessary I would
rather go back to 4.1 to retain this capability.

Doh! I didn't realize there was a THD version. Just bought it and will kick the tires. Here are the results so far.
With my tf700 tethered to my EVO 4G I'm able to internet discover and connect to my work PC.
I'm unable to internet discover my home Mac. Think that might be an issue with my firewall. I'll look into it when I get home this evening.
Update: I think the issue was because my firewall is configured to do port forwarding to my Mac. You have to allow SplashtopTHD to discover the Mac while connected to your local network. Once it's found it the first time on the local network, internet discovery works after that.
So are we out of luck until Asus updates unless we buy Splashtop? Is there another way to locate your computer when you're off your own network? What version of Splashtop is bundled in MyCloud?

Afraid so. The version Asus bundled was customized and renamed it MyDesktop v1.1.0.14. Near as I can tell from Splashtop's support site this was a known bug in v1.1.0.14. :/
FWIW This was the last version that Splashtop released before they updated the app from Splashtop 1 to Splashtop 2. Until Asus uses the Splashtop 2 version remote access outside of your LAN wont be possible.

Actually, it's still possible - just not as easily. All that you need to do is setup Port Forwarding on your router. It's actually pretty simple.
Let me know if anyone is interested in setting this up - I'm sure I can find some good links and help a little...

The splashtop app has updated 3 times in the past week or so and still it doesn't work
Man you guys must either be young and have good eyes or porting the video out HDMI to a big screen TV or external monitor. I tried Splashtop a few times and it worked great but I couldn't see a thing on my desktop screen (high res, lots of icons) and discovered I could zoom and pan (desktop or launched app) the virtual desktop but it felt clumsy and dangerous since I often lost my mouse cursor. In app it felt dangerous like I could easily delete something. Functionally though it was an impressive remote desktop over wifi. Tried it over 3G and the latency was unbarable (and they state it will not work this way but I tried anyway just to check it out - they were right.)
I went out and checked yesterday and got an available update from ASUS that fixed this problem.
