Hello!
Last night my Nexus S fell into a cup of water. It was only the bottom part where the USB port and Mic is. It was for a quick second.
Later that night I made a phone call just fine no problems. Later I played around installing ROMs here and there. I went back to stock using the google images (att version).
This morning when I tried calling, the other person could not hear me. I tested this using using my moms phone and it is nothing no sound whatsover. I tried reinstalling the stock image but nothing.
Is my Mic broken??
Yeah, probably. You shouldnt use your phone if something like this happes. You should turn off the phone and remove battery, let the phone dry few days.

OK I dropped my Nexus-S in the sink doing dishes this morning I grabbed it lightning quick out of the sunk which was not filled up. It did get the phone wet but inky fir one second. I took it apart to sit dry for an hour.
So I turn it on and it actually worked. But the headphone icon is in the notification bar. I never used headphones on this phone.
And watched a uTube video and there was no sound probably because headphone icon on ?
Any tips for phones that fell in the drink ?

I would dismantle the device, put it in rice, let it rest there for like 3 days to a week w/o powering it on.
If your unlucky contacts on the headphone jack (or worse parts) are corroded, have to exchange them then or try plugging in/out a headphone several times.

I ran GPS and a youtube video for an hour straight to help warm it up and dry off the phone, and strangely it works 99% perfectly, only thing that is ****ed up is the speaker for media is low and garbled and bluetooth doesn't seem to work now, other than that it works normally.
I have heard of that before, put inside rice. But I need my phone for business all day, can't be out of a phone for a day, let alone three, would kill me.
Worse case I look on Craigslist for a cheap Nexus-S 4G, or find a deal on some other new phone ?

Ok so i picked up my new skyrocket 2 days ago and I put CWM on it, made a back up and installed the ICS flavor ROM from the development forum. Everything went fine, and i didnt use the phone much yesterday, but today i noticed that i am having annoying touchscreen problems. It basically makes Swype unusable. I have restored back to stock and it was still doing it. I have reinstalled the ICS rom, double flashing it, and it still does it. Is anybody else having issues like this? Its noticable on lists. This video is just an example but it does it in the market, on web pages, etc..

I have never had these problems. Maybe take it back and exchange it.

Update:
I used odin and i reset everything to stock with no CWM and no Root and the issue has stopped as far as i can tell. Maybe i just had a bad download. Ill redownload it again and flash it tonight and see if it persists.
Ok so ive been using stock and it started again. I used an app called Touch Test to see what the screen is seeing. It is a really intermittent issue. There is a "ghost touch" that is happening. near the top of the screen and at the bottom of the screen. A touch in the middle causes it to jump to the top and then back to the bottom causing touches to jump all over the place. It is very intermittent. I didnt buy the phone from ATT so there could be 2 reasons for the this.
A) It was sold to me like this
B) The people at ghost armor put to much liquid on my phone when applying the screen protector and messed up my phone.
I didnt notice any issues before i got it ghost armored, but i only had the phone 2 days before i got it wrapped.
Any ideas on how to recalibrate the screen or any other options i may have?
Found the culprit... Kind of embarrassed it took me this long. Ended up being the wall charger. Its a cheap knock off but it had the same input and output. I was sitting at my desk on the touch test app seeing it spaz out and unplugged it to show my friend what was happening and it stopped. Used the same cable to plug into the pc and no problem. Well that is a relief.

Wow, thanks a lot for this info man! You really saved my life.
I also got a new charger and started experiencing these weird jitters. If it wasn't for this post I would never have figure it out.
My new charger was an Original one from Samsung, but it was obviously made for a different model as the output voltage and current were higher = caused jitters.
I then went back to using my old charger which came with the phone and the issue is gone.
Using Samsung Galaxy S5 NEO (SM-G903F).
Thanks again!!!
hi people.. A few days ago my inspire switched to car mode all by it self, and since then it happens every day, even though i have tried to turn it of when the notification apears, also this problem has made it that way that every time i make ar recive a call it switches to speaker imidietly all by it self,,what should i do?
Please help somebody
Just freeze it in titanium backup and unfreeze when you need it. When you have time, reinstall the rom.
Same happens with me.. so i removed dock mode from system/app/ & locations from root uninstaller..
now i have speakerphone always on whenever i get call.... what to do for that??
My fiancee's inspire was having the same problems as this and all that it was was a faulty micro usb connection...also try to clean the contacts inside the charging port with a small brush, if you still don't have any luck after that just let me know!

Speaker always on even after I froze Car Panel
Hi, same problem here, car panel started popping up randomly + speaker always on when I receive or make a call after I flashed the New ATT stock rooted (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1810461), froze the app which resolved the car panel problem, but my speaker is still on, anyone would know of any patch that could fix this please?
Thanks

I had this issue as well. I cleaned out the Micro USB port the best I could and couldn't seem to stop it from happening unless I unrooted and switched back to the stock ROM (I'm guessing this was only because the stock ROM doesn't have the option for a dock and thus the event is ignored) via the AAHK. My solution was to pay the five dollars for NoDock (link to the trial version) which stops Car Dock from launching and stops the speaker from turning on the calls. You could try looking at other options as well, I just wanted a fix so I paid for it.
Strangest thing. I woke up one day and all of a sudden my external speaker had stopped working. I tried pulling battery, I tried uninstalling the last couple of apps I had installed. I was currently running aospX BR2 from Exitzs and so I flashed a nandroid from before I installed that a week or so ago. Still nothing. I finally got my hands on a pair of headphones and tested them. They worked fine. So I figured I had a hardware failure on my hands and started looking around at how to take apart the phone and replace the speaker. Well I realized I don't have a T5 to remove the housing screws so after pulling the battery and I tried something on a hunch. I pressed very carefully on the housing around the speaker area itself thinking that it might have come loose. Placed the battery back in and booted the phone. WOOHOO!! I had sound. I then flashed the nandroid of BR2 to get back where I was and still sound was working.
I got my phone from my uncle he just bought at second hand and no sound. I gotta try this. Thanks a lot.

springs.
The speaker has a couple of springs attached to the board. Those things are not soldered and if the speaker is loose, you will lost sound.
You can cay buy new speakers or try reseating the speaker.
My speaker just broke. Was speaking via skype(via speaker) and it suddenly went off. Flashed a new Rom(mahdi 2.9) , it didn't work, than restored back to stock(4.4.4 with root) and after a while it started working again, after some minutes it went off again, and it doesn't want to work again. I don't know what's the problem. Can some1 give some tips, answers. Btw, today i dropped it from my pocket on wooden floor.(first drop), my nexus 5 is 6 months old. nothing scratched or shattered, everything is ok , but what's up with the speaker?(but the sound through headphones is working).
