Well again.... Im about to lose my minda because of this damn thing! Now I'm getting a fc every 5 sec... Process acore? My tab is essentially dead? Can't do anything author a fc, can't go into settings our anything... I want to smash this thing! I just got it working well and now this? Anyone know what that process is? I cam do anything with it now, cant load a new rom because I can't get into settings. Its just in an intimate loop of fc. The real disaster is im in idaho, where I got it as a gift, and I'm flying back to nc in the morning.. Can't take out back before I leave..
Anyone know anything about the fc?

If you can get ClockWork to run on boot .You might need to wipe data and reinstall the rom..Not much you can do when it is constantly Fc'ing
Well I don't have cw on the tab, its still stock.. I'm hoping I can plug into a pc, download it and get root that way? Then possibly load a new rom... Otherwise I'm screwed.
Think that will work?

Maybe you should restore it back to factory settings...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=861950
That will bring it back to how it was out of the box, then start over.
If there are still issues then possible hardware problems?
Had this issue, even after NV flash. I was able to get CW (even with the fc) on and wipe, and partition the sd to 2gb. That seems to have cleaned it up.
This forum is the greatest on the entire internet!
Glad to hear you got it working. Imo, your issue is probably the worst thing about running stock - if you get these FC's, there's really no fix unless you take the risk of using a mod.
I believe it's the same reason why Staples pulled the devices - too many returns due to FC's OOTB.
Yes, it's too bad they did not include the "easy" button to reset to stock. Even with the upgrade, it may be enough to ultimately kill off the device. With all of the recovery images on my laptop now, I can put humpty dumpty back with ease. It's good for me, I plan to watch for returns. I could use a couple more of these.
I got cw installed and vegan, the table works like I'd expect now! This thing is awesome! Thanks for the help.
A resolution
I had this same issue happen to me on a new ROM not factory. I couldn't get into settings either to do the contact wipe. But Titanium was installed on it and I was able to wipe the contact data through there. Just an FYI if anyone else runs across the same problem.
Thanks to you Snyper....I just picked up my tab after placing it down for 10 mins and saw this error. Just a quick search in the thread and there is the answer. Man this forum rocks!!!
Just happened to me running vegan 3
clearing contact info worked like a champ!
thanks guys
I have the same issue. But, I don't have CW installed, Titanium won't load up. How can I manually get the clockword APK file on there to attempt to install it?
Any other ideas?

Hi,
Having had this acore FC problem last night, I have a couple of questions:
1) In your post above, you seem to have thought that this only happens with stock TNT. But, in this thread, it seems like others that are not running stock TNT also encounter this problem. So, it this a potential problem with all ROMs, or just with stock TNT?
2) From reading through and other threads, one fix when it happens is to clear the Contacts and ContactsProvider data, either using Settings, if you can get to it, or using Titanium, if you have it. I'm assuming that what both of those steps do is to clear out the tables in SQLlite for the Contacts and ContactsProvider apps. Is that right? If it is, do you, or does anyone know the command lines that would do the same thing?
The reason for the latter question is that when I had the problem, I could still do adb shell. If there was an sqllite command I could have used to clear the problem, I definitely would have done that, instead of having to install CWM, re-partition, and re-flash stock 3452!
Thanks,
Jim
I seem to be stuck in a loop after flashing Serendipity VII Infuse.
My infuse is at the home screen showing the clock, unlock slider and volume slider. Screens says (no Service). Top of screen is running a media scanner.
As soon as it finishes scanning the media, the screen goes blank, shows the Serendipity boot screen w/progress bar, then back to the home screen with the two sliders.
It does not reboot all the way to when it says Samsung.
I've reset and cleared the cache in the red cmw.
Any ideas?
same thing here.

Yup, but it never let me enter it.
I just ran odin to fix. I'll remove the sim password and retry.
Thanks.
That was it. Installed perfectly.

not to hijack this thread, but if i'm coming from froyo, do i need to delete my recovery file before flashing your rom?
mine began after I installed a themed battery pack. sys wipe and re-install and all is well.
Car Dock Issues
So I flashed Serendipity VII yesterday from Infused V1, and let me start by saying it's awesome.
I am having an issue with the car dock, though. It actually worked fine the first time I used it, but now the sound won't redirect to the dock. It's not a huge deal because I can just plug the cable in directly to the headphone jack, but one of the great things about the car dock was that I didn't have to deal with the wires. Anyone have any ideas?

Go to http://serendipityinfuse.weebly.com/ and click download at the top. Took me some time to figure it out too.
I am currently running Infused 1.6 with the Infusion 2.0 Core A kernel. I would like to move to the GB release of Serendipity VII, do I have to go back to stock or can I just flash the download through red CWM from the serendipityinfuse website over my current build and do a full wipe?
Will the download also include the kernel it needs to run?
I'm have seen some mixed information on the actual process for installation coming from custom roms and kernels. This is the first time I am going to be updating to GB.

Backup your apps with TiBu, download Serendipity VII to sdcard, go to Red CWM, Full wipe, flash Serendipity VII, reboot, restore your apps only (NO SYSTEM DATA), Enjoy!
It really is an awesome ROM! I flashed it yesterday and love it!

Don't feel like an idiot, we're all learning over here in Q&A.
Turn the phone off and then hold the VOL + and - keys and the power key at the same time for about 10 seconds then release.
If you are not getting Red CWM then it may be because you do not have Voodoo Lagfix installed. Is your phone stock, have you ever installed any other ROMs? Mine started giving me red CWM after I installed the Infused 1.6 ROM.
Hopefully we can get some more advanced users in here to lend a hand, I would like to learn more about this process also.
im in here let me know whatcha need !
i used to have infused 2.1....or 2. something and i wanted serendipity. so i tried to install and nothing would happen. so i went back to stock and all kind of problems started. but im gonna give this a shot

ok i held the keys and it sent me to a blue screen. if i press reinstall packages it then sends me to the green cwm screen. could someone let me know whats going on lol
i went back to stock using the unbrick method and now i cant download anything from the market. i hit install and the download bar pops up for a second and then dissappears. cant even install apps that i had before
does anyone know if you can restore all missing apps and data with serendipity. i somehow got it to flash and was jw. thanks
Alright folks, my phone appears to have gone off the deep end.
A few weeks back, I was changing over to the new Eclipse ROM, and at first everything was going fine and dandy. However, I soon began experiencing a few force closes. I restarted the phone, and then everything went to hell. So many force closes I couldn't operate the phone, inability to make calls, unable to open apps, unable to install apps, basically all I can do is text, receive calls, and browse the web (although after enough time the phone crashes anyway). I have tried everything I know of to fix it: new ROMs via recovery, new ROMs via Odin, deleting caches, deleting personal data, using the .pit file and factory stock in Odin, the works. I even found the Samsung PST and used that, but for naught. The weird thing is that even after using the .pit file (which is supposed to delete EVERYTHING), my phone "remembers" old applications that were installed on it. In fact, it seems like there is some sort of ghost image on my phone, and whenever I restart it the phone returns to that state (any applications I tried to uninstall are back, all contact data is deleted, etc.). This ghost image hangs around no matter what I do.
Any suggestions?
Sounds to me that you obviously are not getting a true "PASS" with pit file. If you had you would have no files saved on phone. But if you followed the instructions to a "t" like you allude to...

I have followed the instructions fully (and multiple times to boot), and I have always gotten a PASS.
This is sounding regrettably similar to the issues reported in this thread - try looking at post numbers in the mid 300s - I think they are centered around late September/early October (there are more than this, but I'm pretty sure that timeframe has the highest density of discussion on this). If it's what it sounds like, the /data partition is no longer in a state that can be written over (the "ghost image" you were referring to) - and truth be told I don't know if anyone has come up with a "free" solution to the problem.

I currently have Clockwork. I am unable to tell at this moment what my file system is, as I can't install Voodoo, and the method of adding/deleting folders on my SD card doesn't work. However, I do recall during one of my many attempts at using different kernels/radios/roms I did get the creepy female Voodoo bootup voice, but even though that said it was a success I was never able to tell whether it actually worked.
As of right now I am capable of ODIN and Clockworking any Rom/kernel/etc., but they all bring along the Ghost Image.

NAND is just a type of flash memory. If you recognize the word nand then you should have an idea. If not, it's not really important.

just covering bases by asking, did you go ALL the way back to ed1 with that pit file or a more recent version (gb or something along those lines)
From what I understand, the phone is still working, but is very unstable. The PBJ kernel does NOT support Voodoo Lagfix (but still supports EXT4). Can you try flashing imoseyon's kernel (which supports it) and enabling/disabling Voodoo? It can be found at RootzWiki. Also, when you get into CWM, it says the version at the top.

Here you go....i have been here.
Get into clockwork(CWM) - mount everything via usb and backup what you need to backup.
Perform a quick format of your sdcard so that when you see your phone on the pc, its blank.
Go back to stock odin and boot up, report any issues.

What happened next
I tried what you said because I'm in the same boat. I still get the FCs and it tries to walk me through the setup. It gets stuck at the Checking Account step in the setup wizard. I let it sit there for about an hour while I went to lunch to no avail.
I searched the forums and cannot find a fix for this... now this is my first time looking and I may have missed something, or searched using the wrong words or phrases...
I just recently upgraded my skyrocket to the UCLD2 4.2d build, from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1602216
I followed the instructions to the letter, but now whenever I try to power off my phone it freezes, and the only way to fix it is to remove the battery.
I am very new to rooting, and this entire process, but I did double check everything before I did the install process.
Please point me in the right direction to fixing the issue.

Mine is doing the same thing after I restored from nandroid. It was fine before. I'm rooted with stock ICS and Mohan kernel. Everything else works fine. It just hangs on the powering off screen. Do you think darkside wipe and redoing my nandroid restoration would fix this? I am also still learning, but have been reading my a$$ off.
I'm fairly new to ROMs (this is my second). I have followed the instructions and successfully installed the ROM, modem, and update.
2 questions:
1) Wifi does not work (will not turn on). I had wifi problems on my last ROM. I have reinstalled this ROM numerous times today thinking something must have failed since wifi does not work. This seems to be unique to me since I can't find anything in the thread regarding wifi problems. Any suggestions?
I've gone so far as to use darkside superwipe as suggested in a different thread. Still can't get wifi to turn on (just sits with "Turning Wi-Fi on..." message on screen). Never errors out, just stays like that.
2) ROM Manager: Fix permissions fails. I get the following error when I select fix permissions: "An error occurred while attempting to run privileged commands!" Any suggestions?
Thanks so much for the help!
You should post your question in the ROM thread. The developer (seanscreamz) or one of the other testers will see it and be able to address your problem and help you out.
I can't post in the Dev section yet. 6 more posts and I will ask there.

Ok, I figured I might as well make sure that my wifi woes are not a hardware issue. I've reverted back to stock Skyrocket OS to make sure wifi is available and working in stock form.
Following this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1342348, I reverted to stock and I can confirm that wifi works in stock form.
I've also reformatted my sd card in case there is any chance a corruption on it would cause my problems.

I'm not running Juice Defender. At this point, I'm trying to revert back to stock form again with working wifi.
Edit: ok, reverted back to stock by doing the following
1) reboot into CWM recovery
2) factory reset x3
3) clear cache x3
4) format system x3
5) clear dalvik x3
6) format emmc x3
7) restart and pull battery
8) boot into download mode
9) push stock tar (k0kane) via Odin3 v1.85
I now have wifi again!
So now I get to try to get back to SU and CWM without losing wifi...wish me luck.
still have wifi!
OK, rooted and CWM installed. I still have wifi, which is good. I'm afraid to select 'Fix Permissions' for fear that will break my wifi.
I'm going to install Sky ICS now and see what happens.
sky ics and wifi!
OK, It took a few attempts, but I now have SKY ICS installed and wifi is still working.
I've installed the base ROM and the modem...not the updated yet. My download speeds are terrible, but at least I have wifi. I think the data speeds get better on the update.
Sean's instructions say to let the phone "cache and settle". I have no idea what that means...so will try to wait 10 minutes or so before installing the update.

My uneducated guess with the data speeds is the modem for UCLE2. I haven't had the chance to go to LTE on SKYICS yet, but data is definitely slower on "4g" networks.

quick update
Here is a quick update:
I spent some time redownloading all my apps and in general setting up the phone. I then ran the SKY-ICS update. Everything seemed to be working great.
As an added bonus, the email app in SKY-ICS syncs with my employer's exchange server! Which is so awesome. The stock ROM, and the last gingerbread ROM I had on the Skyrocket would not connect to our exchange server. I was very pleasantly surprised by that functionality.
I then lost wifi again. Wifi seems to be unpredictable and I'm not sure if it is hardware or software related. I again have wifi this morning, but didn't for the last two days. Also, my phone won't restart, it appears to get stuck in a powerdown state. The haptic buttons stay lit, but the screen is blank. I have to pull the battery to get it to restart.
But overall, I'm very happy with the performance and functionality of SKY-ICS. I will do some digging on the restart problem.
