Would appreciate any help.

[Q] Help me get the 2x weather /clock widget pretty please

I want th eWeather / clock widget thats posted from the 2x I installed the apk file by downloading to the computer and adding to my phone then used appinstaller to install but it is not in my widgets. I do see it under my applications. Could someone please help me
It's in the Apps and themes section under LG apps or something like that. If you're not using a custom launcher like adw then then widget takes the entire screen. I am using MIUI Digital Weather, free on the market.

Right, I had this issue back on Froyo. I don't know why, but it only worked if I wasn't using a custom launcher. If you disable your launcher, it will work. I notice on 2.3.3 that LG calender widget doesn't appear on the widget menu.
I have the Stock LG camera on 2.3.3, zero lag.

Are you on 2.2.2 or 2.3.3?
Well, after pressing the button the camera has to adjust its focus and whatnot to take a good picture.

There is an almost identical one in the Market called 3D Digital Weather Clock. It will show up as a widget and works quite well.

That was the "almost identical" part of my comment. Sorry, I couldn't find an exact duplicate.
GO Weather is a similar widget and it's skinable to be flowery or several other things.

Removed 'last updated' from Asus Weather Widget (root not required)

I was a bit annoyed by the addition of the "last updated" line in the Asus Weather widget included in the 3.2 update. I thought it was ugly and provided a bit too much information to the widget. Since there wasn't an option to switch it off, I disabled it from being displayed. I also edited the widget layout files to create another version with smaller text. A screenshot is attached that shows the original (top) and the modified (bottom) Weather widgets. The second screenshot shows the original (top), modified (bottom left), and modified & resized (bottom right).
Root access is not required as the modified Weather widget is not a system application and can coexist with the original Weather widget. The ModWeather.apk installs like any other application and does not replace the original Weather widget. After installing the widget, I found a reboot necessary to get the widget to appear in the list.
I have received confirmation that it works without root.
Update: I received reports of these modified widgets not working for some. Upon investigation, I believe I found the source of the problem and have corrected it. I also rebuilt the modified widgets using the stock widget from a system dump of build 8.6.15.13. If you installed these modified widgets prior to October 7th 2011, you may want to install the updated version(s). I updated the version number to 1.0.2 to facilitate upgrading from the previous 1.0 version.
Update 2: With the release of ICS, Asus included the ability to resize the Weather widget to 1x1, 4x3, or 4x4. The 4x4 variant includes a daily forecast. I have been working on a resized variant w/ the 'last updated' text removed. While it is still a work in progress, the latest revision can be found here.
Feel free to let me know whether it works or not for you and don't be afraid to press that little thanks button below.

There have been several inquiries related to the battery widget in the screenshots. It is actually a widget that I created for my own use and has nowhere near the features of some of the other offerings. My Transformer is my first real exposure to Android, so I wanted to write my own to get a better understanding of Android application development. I also wanted to use images that complemented the Asus Weather and Date widgets. I am providing this widget as is and cannot guarantee any further development and/or improvements. However, feedback is always appreciated.
Battery widget updated to version 1.1.0 on August 16th 2011.

Thank you for this, will try when I get home.
Thanks, works great.
I was also disapointed with the usless update time, because I use a one hour cycle.

dual battery widget, available in marketplce
Thanks, works great.
Can't confirm the root not required part, since I rooted a couple days ago.
Downloading using TF stock browser didn't want to to work. Using XDA app did. Weird.
Mine required reboot for widget to be available.
Thanks again.

Would you like to see the text of the city and temperature half the size of that displayed when in landscape mode, portrait mode, or both?
I'm not committing to do the work just yet, but I would like to have a better understanding of your request.

both if it is not to much to ask
I have updated the original post to include a version with reduced text size. I actually prefer this one to the original.

Makes me wonder if you've indirect fixed the temperature cut off problem that has plagued this widget from day 1, the one fixed by rotating.
Will report back here if I stop seeing the problem.
Thanks again. I also like the resized....

I use both BatteryDockChartWidget TF101 by POKE64738
and the Dual Battery Widget by Artiom Chilaru
Never seen one with those icons on either widget
OP, I have been waiting for something that allows me to re-size this widget since the first time I saw it. I downloaded both apks but for some reason neither of them allows me to click install. I can scroll the list of permissions, I can click the "more" button and I can click the "cancel" button. I just can't click "install". Any ideas on what may be causing that?
I am not rooted, btw. Hopefully I can get this to work for me. Thanks.
Confirmation that it works without root good work op

help finding a skin/theme

Hi, I have a one x on ATT, 2.20 rooted running cm10.
I have finally gotten a little settled on the way my phone works and now i want to change the looks. I've posted screenshots below. First off, I want a clock/weather widget that is similar to the one I have on my lockscreen. I found that as the dafault for cm10 and i have no idea how to get one for my homescreen. Can someone point me to a place where i can find a bunch of widgets or that specific kind?
Also, I want to change my notification bar,not just a black strip, and the icons(in the notification bar and home screen). How would i get to that? Am i suppose to look for cm10 skins (because a lot of them on the playstore seem like the same thing, rehashed with different colors)?
I've really enjoyed this forum and has helped me a lot (i just rooted it last night) and would really appreciate some help ! Thanks!

[Q] Downgrade JB Calender App with JB Calendar App possible?

Hi guys,
As the title says,
Is there any way to downgrade the Jelly Bean 4.1.3 Calendar App to the ICS 4.0.3 Calendar App?
I downloaded the Calendar.apk from somewhere that somebody submitted for ICS, but cannot implement it into JB.
Trying to work out how to strip out the JB Calendar App first though, so can anybody suggest, is this possible?
If so, or if it is possible to do or cannot do this, anysuggestions or info on how to go about this is much appreciated.
ps:
I am using Galaxy Tab 2 P5100 currently running JB v4.1.3

The JB calendar is a systemapp. You can downgrade, but it isn't recommended though. Downloadig/restoring a systemapp can caus your device to crash (had it myself once, alsu due a calendar systemapp).
PS: good alternative for the calendar is Business Calendar, which is way better than any other stock calendar.

Thanks for the advice Endie, I will check it out.
My other thought was, maybe I also asked the wrong question.
Question also should have been, is there also any way to actually make the calendar the full page size.
So when I flip pages, the calendar takes up the whole page type of thing?
Would have thought it was possible at least but so far, no cigar.
Cheers again~!

I do add the Calendar Widget yes. The largest size in the widgets panel is 6x4 and in the 10.1" screen, its still way to small.

Hold the widget for 2 secs so you can move it around, put it in the upper left corner and you should be able to enlarge the widget. :good:

As my note is running 4.1.2 I need to click the pen marker to edit anything on the page.
When I do that and hold for 2 seconds as you say, I can move the calendar widget.
But dragging it to the left corner only adds it to another page.
Or just holding it will not select or re-size the widget at all, so its like not editable in 4.1.2
Any other suggestions?
