I am having the same problem. It was using 4G just fine and switched to cdma (prl) and switched back to lte/cdma/evdo but it won't light up 4G and when I check the phone info app again it set to cdma again.

You running a jellybean leak rom? Same thing happened to me running it. I went back to stock but I heard that disabling the radio and then r enabling it fixes it

Stay away from the phone info app on touchwiz roms...the only way i got 4g back after losing it due to the wonky app was to reprovision the device with dialer code *2767*3855#.
This will wipe internal so take precaution and back yo **** up!

I'm not sure what ROM you guys are running, but on CleanRom 4.0 (based on the VZW JB leak), I have to use Phone Info app to turn off 4g because there is no menu option to do so. When I try to use Phone Info to turn 4g back on, the setting never sticks, so I have to go into the mobile network settings menu and select LTE/CDMA to turn 4g back on. Not sure if this will work with other ROMs based on the leak, but it's worth a look.

OK I'm just spit balling here but why don t you just flash cm10 quick and turn your 4g back on? If you make a backup first you should be able to go back to tw and have 4g + all your settings and apps unchanged.

I should also pint out when this happened to me a couple months ago I Odin back to stock and still had no 4g. Don't know if it was a fluke but I'm just glad I got it working that same night.

This works for the stock JB leak. I had the same problem where Phone Info wouldn't go back to cdma/lte/evdo. Went into android settings, and in mobile network switch preferred network to cdma/lte/evdo. After that I stayed away from the phone info app.

Yes, my point was that on the TW JB leak I'm running, I HAD to use Phone Info because the menu didn't provide an option to turn off 4g.
Also I've never had any issues with Phone Info on ICS TW ROMs.

Could it be because I'm stock?

Wasn't that fixed in Samsung's 4.0.4 update given that recent controversy about webpages resetting Samsung phones?
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app

I use Phone Info all the time with stock-rooted-unlocked with no problem. Sometimes the change doesn't take effect using just the drop-down selection, I have to hit the Turn off radio button and wait til it turns off and then turn it back on.
Had no problems with Phone Info on CM10 or AOKP-M1.
Flashed the Incubus VZW JB leak yesterday and had real problems with phone info. Ended up getting stuck in EvDo only and couldn't get out. I restored my nandroid I made before flashing and went into Phone Info and it was still in EvDo only which I thought was really strange. But it let me immediately change it to whatever else I wanted.
I guess because the radios are in a different place than the ROM it's changing them for the phone and not for the OS, if that makes sense. (it does to me) That tells me the problem has more to do with the radios and their relationship with the custom ROM than with the Phone Info app. That app is really only a shortcut to a location that already exists in your phone.
I didn't flash new radios with the leaked ROM yesterday. Maybe that's the problem, our ROMs and our radios aren't matching up. Or am I the only one that didn't do that?

Going back to Froyo rom you will have load the Rom and radio as well. I find that this is maybe a longer process, but since I never have a problem I just stick to it.
This link - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=996616
Go to step 1 and then grab this file - PG05IMG_MR1_upgrade.zip
rename to PG05IMG.zip and put in root of SD card and flash via hboot
I find it more fool proof almost to just load this up and then restore my Froyo backup after. There are several ways to actually go back, I just find this one less prone to me for making an error

Anyways, Ever since I've upgraded to ICS, I've been having serious cell-related network connection problems on my tmobile iemi-unlocked atrix 2, mb865(NOT Wi-Fi connectivity problems.) My signal is constantly going from 5-1 bars (several times a minute) in places where I previously experienced a solid 5 bars with gingerbread and my (also unlocked, on tmobile) iPhone 2g. Also, my carrier logo is disappearing and reappearing many times a minute as well. (Even when I have 5 bars.) Sometimes , I just get a red triangle with a white cross inside of it where the bars should be.
Sometimes, these problems are temporarily fixed when I enter airplane mode for a few seconds, then exit it. But within 15 minutes of exiting, I begin experiencing the same problems. Other times, they aren't fixed through entering/exiting airplane mode , and I have to reboot the device.
My question is, will installing a rom perhaps fix these problems? Since my network was fine on gingerbread, it's obviously not a hardware problem. I'm rooted, of course (but before rooting I experienced these problems as well.)
I obtained the iemi through at&t and not a shady third party unlocking business, if that makes any difference.
Thanks a lot in advance!

Well it can't hurt to try a new rom.... wait it can haha but yes sometime even a factory restore can fix a lot of random issues. My buddy was running stock gingerbread on his phone and it had a messed up usb port. I then put CM7 on it and it worked magically so it is a possibility. I am currently running numa and it fixed my wifi issue where it would randomly turn off. But I think a good old factory restore could maybe fix it,

I believe your unlock will be there still. I could be wrong though. And if you have a sdcard it will be unaffected by the factory restore and new ROMs. But its a good idea to back it up every blue moon. And yes you can get your apps and app data back with titanium backup. Make sure it stores to sdcard and the same with ROMs.

Also, I backed up to titanium, did a factory reset, and restored from titanium. I still have the same problem. Could I possibly freeze some apps (using Gemini app manager) that involve the sim card? Would that avail to anything?

Yes. At least in my country the warranty is for one year. But, if you bought it the phone with the two year contract i think, the warranty should last two years.
And the other thing, i have no idea man. Sorry. I never experienced that, and i don't know what happen there. But, my advice is that you must go to the warranty and try.

Cleanrom 5.0 lost 4G LTE... Please help!

I recently installed Scotts cleanrom 5.0 and lost my 4G. I've updated the modem to the latest JB leak but still nothing. I've even tried going back to previous modem but still no luck. Someone please let me know what they think I could do to get my 4G back.

Yeah, I don't get 4G neither. I seem to always get Edge connections.
Had you turned 4G off by chance on any other ROM? AOSP?
I definitely don't believe I turned it off, unless it happened by accident. Is my only solution to go stock, back to ICS? Or is there a way around this without having to wipe everything AGAIN?

Download the app phone info. Go in there and check what your network setting is. I've had it selected to let in the normal menu and I went in that and it showed CDMA auto PRL. If it shows that. Select late/CDMA/evdo or whatever it is again. If it is already showing lte then, select turn off radio, choose another option (best bet CDMA auto Prl) then turn on radio... once the network comes on repeat that again back to lte

But can i do that with an OTA JB version already? and ive read about just "reprovision my phone", will it work even with the rooted stock image?
Thanks

Read the second post of the cm10.1 thread has three different ways to fix it
One is change CDMA subscription type to ruin/sim

Have you checked your subscription type on what ever ROM you are on. Also the best method is to Odin root66 and disk the repro vision code

I am on the stock OTA JB from verizon at the moment, and ive tried to do the root 66 and the one i downloaded from doesnt have the .tar.md5 file in it: its was from this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1762204
and im not exactly sure by what you mean subscription type, and can i just do the reprovision code if im just OTA JB with just root?
Under mobile settings there is an option for CDMA subscription type it must be rui/sim, nit sure if it's on stock though.
Also the repro vision code doesn't work on jb that's why you must go back to root66

After you download the one you linked to me you have to extract the .tar. I assume you know how to do this, but just in case right click the zip and extract all

Great to hear! I recommend avoiding cm10.1 until the bugs are worked out.... If you rely on your phone.

Yes, stay away from CM 10.1. I lost my MEID from doing it which means the phone wasn't able to make or receive calls.

You can lose that no matter what you flash. That's why all ROMs say to back it up before flashing.
