so my nexus is stock, but unlocked.
i cherged my nexus today an i read on a thread that to calibrate the battery it should be plugged at 100% and then u should turn it off then on and while it boots u should take out the battery. i did it. and now it doesnt boot, not even in fastboot.
some help?
Who said to pull out the battery while booting? It's a dangerous action you may brick your phone. Add I know a lot Chinese users of Nexus S had done this accidentally. Like rebooting without the battery cover when the battery fell off.
And unfortunately I didn't see anyone made their phone back, yet.
Anyway you can search for some threads for saving bricked phone.

Not exactly you can saved it. I find a thread on Chinese forum says use Ubuntu to unbrick a bricked ns. I think the thread actually comes from xda. Try to search here you can find it. Sorry I'm on my phone now can't do a search. All the best.

i know about that, its called adam tool. but that tool is useless if your screen doesnt even light up. i tried the tool and it didnt worked
thanks anyway
you cannot fix a dead boot with any software/USB connection to a PC. A bricked/Dead boot can only be fixed by having a certain hardware called JTAG/RIFF. Check this link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iejfuW7XcKA
its a bit high in price between 100-150$, usually repair centers have it and charge 50$ for a fix. I suggest taking your nexus to a repair center and specifically tell them that you have a "DEAD BOOT AND NEED IT FIXED BY JTAG/RIFF"

but to answer your question... i don't believe there are any guides for that. and it does, in fact, sound like a hard brick. i would look into replacing it. if someone on here thinks of something i didn't or knows how to fix this.. chime in. but if i were you i would just get it replaced.
and fyi... there might be flaming towards you for posting this in the 'dev' section versus the 'q&a' section. be prepared.

Wrong section!
r u able to go to bootloader ?.
seeing this as very tragic, I think there would be less people flaming. for it would be very difficult if you were on his feet. scary! hehe. but then, wrong section. is there a cut paste thing here?
did you try plug in charge and go to bootloader? it should vibrate if your charged.

Are you sure your battery is not dead? Try removing it / putting it back or try another battery.. There are known charging issues and theres a thread about it somewhere.
Aramis73 have you tried to remove the battery and keep it off for about 30 minutes, reinsert it, load it with the current and try to turn it on.
Did this just happen all of a sudden or did you do something you weren't supposed to?

thanks for your answer but the phone has no battery overnight.
this morning i reinsert the battery but the phone won't power on.
You should trade it in for a Samsung Galaxy S II, we have loads of people who don't understand forum sections, I'm sure you'll feel at home.

Sounds like you had the crappy recovery and got boned without a charge.
What you need is :
A. Another Sensation Battery to try and boot with.
or
B. A wallcharger for the battery itself alone.
Once powered back on you need to flash the modded Revolutionary CWM available here
So, after you have downloaded the above zip place it on the root of your SD and power into bootloader mode. It will ask you to update, agree & you'll be back in business in no time.
This is the best case scenario you can hope for.
Goodluck !
Hi all.
First of all, already tried searching both google and xda and I get contradicting results that's why am posting it here.
I currently owned a dead/bricked skyrocket after a failed odin update. Can a USB jig be used to force download mode or do i need a JTAG?
Thanks everyone.

Kinda depends .. do you get any sort of responce from the phone at all .. vibration with no screen .. or nothing at all ?
If you have vibration without screen .. YES ..USB JIG will work.
If you have nothing at all .. NO .. will have to go with JTAG.

Thanks sir. Nope, i don't have anything at all. So, jtag is the way to go. By the way, what's the percentage of chances that it can be revived by jtag?

In my opinion, you should have a usb jig if you are going to flash roms. Get one and give it a try. Won't hurt.
From what I read, as long a you get someone that knows what they are doing, using a jtag should be almost a sure thing.
If you're getting no vibration or anything then a jtag is your only solution. A jig is not likely to do anything (though it's worth a try--and you should try making your own--it's really easy to do and they come in really handy anyways).
Assuming your phone isn't water damaged or was dropped hard (meaning it could be a deep hardware issue), then it's damn near certain that a jtag will fix it.
These guys can help you out: http://mobiletechvideos.mybigcommerce.com/samsung-galaxy-s-ii-skyrocket-brick-repair/
Check em out. If they can't fix it you won't get charged full price (take a look at their terms--there is a fee to diagnose it if they're unable to fix it but you wouldn't be paying full price if it didn't work out).
Dear community members, my Infuse is dead I don't know why. It was charging over night and I just want to check the time when I noticed it was unresponsive. I though "I'ts just a SOD" but when I pulled out the battery an pressed the power button nothing happened, three finger trick and nothing...black screen no any light whatsoever even when I connect to my PC it is not recognized. Any Ideas?
I have Dman's Zeus 6 whit Script V6 SuperCharger.
I live in El Salvador and here is no any technical support...PLEASE HELP!!!!
I think it's just passed out :'( and if you think so also, I want to know if any of you have an Infuse for sale. I really love this phone because its big screen and wonderful performance.
Check the battery........if u have multi meter u can check it with that or the best way to check ur battery, Touch the battery pins with ur tongue and see if u feel anything.

That will short circuit the battery and then it WON'T work. Also 4v isn't enough to go across your tongue and feel it.
What will short short circuit ?
Just remove the battery and touch it with ur tongue u can feel the current mate.....don't jump on conclusion without trying it.
Thank you guys! I have tested the battery and is full charged (4.14V). Any other ideas?
I really appreciate your help and concern.

No... I gave it to BestBuy.. I will get a new phone in 3 days.. I have to install GB boot loaders first..
I want to install AOKP, without GB boot loaders i am getting rainbows.. So i want GB boot loaders first..
Heimdall technique failed for me..
I dont know what i have done, mistake..
I have done this but without install GB boot loaders...if you carefully see you can read and make almost everything with the rainbows CWM screen...I did it, tested it and then back to Zeus 6 which I think is the perfect ROM for my needs.
I'm too noob to messing around with boot loaders...LOL
I hope you get your phone back soon.

Yes, I'm under warranty but I've bought the phone from China and I'm from Italy, only the ship cost will be more than the repair.
There's no place to repair a china phone here, nobody even known the phone
But it's a problem that has a lot of OPO and the manufacturer said that, they're good enough and, even N% has yellow screens...
But I'm really not happy with this phone, not only for the yellow line.
There is no way to fix it, with usage and time it gets slightly better. 99% of phones have this, so you should not have bought the phone, if you think this is a deal breaker.

I didn't know that this kind of phone has this kind of screen. Obviously I never bought a phone with this defect.
I really never bought a phone even if I had known the state of Cyano 11s.
But it'd definitely my fault.
Thanks for the answers.

I have never had that problem
The display stopped working 2-3 days ago. On booting i can see the google logo for 2-3 seconds before the screen goes dark. The phone works and i can hear dings of messages, but i cant access any of it. Once i kept shut it for a day i was able to see the screen for 10-15 seconds( i used this window to remove the screen lock so that i can use the usb transfer ). Now keeping the phone shut for long duration has no effect.
I can see the fastboot screen but not the recovery screen throught it.
I also bought a slimport so that i could see the screen on my pc. It works (not for the fastboot or recovery), however the touch doesn't work and the volume and power buttons response is too sluggish. I can connect the mouse but it is of no use as i can't see the screen on PC and use the mouse at the same time. I tried adb ( i have no experience of it ) but i cant touch the allow pernmissions key on the screen for the above reasons. Also what advantage would adb be in this case?.
Any advice ?

Oh, you mean sending it to LG for servicing? I am a bit hesitant since i have cyanogenmod and also am in india and i doubt they will give a replacement. I think going back to stock rom and then sending it for repairs might help but i have no idea how to go about doing that in this situation.

I don't know yet, I'm just trying to figure out whether it's a particular batch that started failing or it's completely random, just curious. The two replacements I was sent were 403K. Build is perfect, but they both had some light bleed issues. Looks like every batch comes with some good and some bad, QC definitely hasn't been too great on this phone.

They're not really built in batches. Manufacturing was continuous. They just changed the serial number every time the month changes so I dont think this would actually mean anything
I know but I'd still use it as a milestone more than anything, I mean there have been some differences in the units (eg bigger speaker holes), this way it's easier to track them along the timeline, because they definitely do change something in the manufacturing process from time to time if they have to make up for issues or something. They also did it with the N4 if I remember well.

Speaker holes is a bad example because even the latest built devices it was still a lottery whether you got bigger or smaller holes. That's down to what you mentioned earlier, QC

I was able to unroot and flash the stock image. The problem still exists though, so it has to be a hardware issue. Fortunately the phone is still in warranty.
