Does CyanogenMod 9 fix signal strength error? - Samsung Galaxy Tab Plus

Hello,
there is no signal strength update in most network apps (open signal maps etc.) - so they are unusable with 4.0.4 on my GT-P6200.
Is that fixed in CyanogenMod 9?

I know there's a patch to install after the initial CM9 install. That's what I am working on at the moment.

Thanks!
Installed this with latest Miui, noticed slight battery drain. GPS slightly faster.
Thanhs
Tested on CM NB#137.
Working fine with 1003 G Ril.
Very fast cold acquisition with GPS (~10 sec in my living room with cloudy weather with Angel Death patch).
Enjoy.
actually I flashed this Radio. n the RIL ..I've not seen a single % difference.
Any difference in terms of battery?
For signal checking I would recommend doing comparisons using this app
https://market.android.com/details?id=de.android.telnet
Gives you great info and graphs on db signal strength for wifi and wireless network.Shows you also tower info and handoffs as well as tower location on google maps
For tests I compare current radio in same location (wifi and 3G) and leave the screen timeout to 5min
you will have a pretty good idea on the average signal from the graph.
Then install the new radio and do the same test.
Thats what I call my standby test
After that I do a mobile test. There is an elevator in my office where when going from 1 floor to another I get borderline service.
So I start the app prior to going in and monitor the lowers signal and handoffs and then do the same with the new radio

It works fine for me. I am interested in the Zarboz kernel, but it was unstable on my phone when I tried it, even with stock settings. I am considering compiling my own, and took this up a while back, but ran into some issues and tabled it for the time being. I've been using Klin's kernel on mikeyinid's ROM for a while and haven't had any issues yet.
I'm a bit confused over here. Is this build from 11/12/12 or 11/22/12?

Install ChainsDD's Superuser app from the market. I will look into the audio levels for video recording the next time I build.
To OP,
Do you plan on keeping this developemnt going forward?
There are plenty of people here that would love this, including myself.

I wiped out the distro I had running where I orginally did the build, but have a tarball with the build tree. I started working on moving this into a VM, but had issues with a crashy linux distro and haven't finished the move yet. AOKP didn't have any changes at all at least through the first week of December, so there was nothing to build regardless. I just checked a couple of days ago and saw some new commits, which I intend to sync and run a new build as soon as I get the build VM set back up. FWIW I have been running my last build as a daily driver since I built it and haven't run into any issues, except that I'm pretty sure the theme chooser doesn't work at all. I will have to go through the AOKP git to see whats been added with the latest commits.

[Q] Why GPS only working for Omni Rom not on others

This issue has been tested in every Rom release.. GPS is not locking signal.. Tested with GPS test app and says GPS is working..
Anyone facing issue..?
Any solutions..?
For me it doesn't work on the latest nightly 24/9/14. However it works when you have GPS set on high accuracy mode.

If you are not passionate about any particular ROM then you can try AOSP Paranoyed Android or Pac Rom. Pacrom is nearly perfect and this also have all ported features from all other ROM.

Yes I tried it. And gps is fixed in most of the roms even in CM11 official built also but the problem was in the location fixing by the help of network and wifi. They are not working so gps hardware takes all the ages to fix the location and need a clear sky and open area. But now in those roms location based on wifi and gsm is working. So you will get a early fix

Thank you for the work... I am not a dev, but I can imagine it is tough trying to develop for multiple ROMs and devices. I sincerely appreciate the work for our CDMA device. Blessings to you!
Hey, thank you very much for this! I'm sure many users will be grateful to you! Can you please make unified builds, if possible? That'd be great!
This is nice at last i see a fully working rom for CDMA users hope everyone is happy now and i dont think there is need of unified build right now but for future we need it , thanks for this

The device I have is a "Boost Mobile" XT1031 which is a CDMA device. I can not test things on GSM, so I can not say if things work with GSM. Therefore, I have decided to only support the CDMA variants.
However, It maybe that things work just fine GSM. If it does great but I don't support it.
EDIT: Downloading and testing build...

@Meticulus,
Flashed your 12.1 build with no problems on my xt1028 with 41.13 bootloader. Had screen flicker during boot and right after boot but lock/unlock screen fixed that. Also I like the Windows app drawer icon. I do notice that signal screen is fixed(exclamation point for a few seconds but goes away) but there is no 3g in the signal bar. I am able to make and receive calls and I do have mobile data. However, in "mobile network settings, "data while roaming" is on by default I guess and when I turn it off I lose mobile data. I am not able to select 3g in preferred network.
Overall though, great job! :good:

I don't think official nightlies have started yet but I read its gone from "CM12.1 staging branch" to "CM12.1 branch" so I'd guess we'll be seeing nightlies soon enough. Personally I like unofficial builds for the device specific attention and the optimizations be it Linaro or Saber etc. [emoji4] [emoji106]

Amazing work sir. I tested Cody's build last night and was amazed by the speed compared to the stock soak, 5.1 is definitely a big improvement from 5.0.2...
Wondering if the sms bug is still present, because on Cody's build, Google Messenger refused to show any texts, but they were present in cm's Messaging (restored from an xml backup)
Another thing I ran into as I decided to wipe&restore back to soak backup, SystemUI wouldn't start, I'm not sure if it was a restore problem, I even tried pushing with adb and it still refused to start... Whatever the case, I had to wipe and reflash the partition updater&soak zip.. Maybe I am flashing or doing something wrong.. Any advice would be appreciated..
Anyways, looking forward to testing your build, but will wait and see what other users experience with it before doing so
@Meticulus so the signal strength is fixed in the status bar but there's no 1X/3G indicators?

On my xt1028 with the 41.13 bootloader there is no 1x/3g in the signal bar but there is mobile data. Also on the lockscreen in the upper left hand corner there are the numbers "00000" where "roaming indicator off" used to be.
