Go Launcher EX Lix Theme Wallpaper - General Questions and Answers

Could someone help a rather novice with getting the Lix Theme wallpapers, specifically the Blue and Purple space ones
I wish to use them on that theme, and other ones
There was a post in another forum
- goto the data folder and they will be there. Well the OP did not have the file in the data folder
- a second way was given to plug phone into the computer and extract the .apk
Well I went into the 'phone' and selected 'show all folders, even hidden ones' and I did a search for both .apk and LIX and got nothing
Then went and manually searched for them in anything related to "Go."
Could someone help me with this?
Thank You

Can someone make me a Today theme please?

I want the attached picture as the background, with the top and bottom in purple, and the picture to be visible in the start menu as well (I assume this is done by making the start menu transparent).
Unless someone could point me in the right direction of how to do this myself (without buying any software please. freeware only this month )
But for now if someone could do that for me I'd be very greatful
Cheers. GaZ
here you go mate...let me know if you have a prob opening the file. what i did was i used bvrp theme manager, installed it on my unit, then copied the tsk file from the unit's window's folder, and back to my pc's my docs. if you are able to open it; let me know if you want me to change any colors on the theme...here's a screen shot....
oh and if you're using an xda2 you can simply use the picture as the wallpaper and no need for making a theme...
cheers
oops, silly me i forgot you wanted the top and bottom bars in purple... here you go then...but personally i'd go for maroon
cheers
Go to pocketpc.com and download the theme generator.
Many thanks
And Carlos: I'll look into that software. I wanted to anyway but didn't know where it was. I just wanted this theme doing quickly.
Thanks again
How do you make a theme for ppc 2003?
Does anyone know how to adjust the transparency of an image used for wallpaper?
Go to funnysnake.com and get their free app for making themes.
Hi Robson!
How did you make the theme from the attached pic? Could you post a step-by-step procedure for this? Let's just call it "Theme-making for Dummies"
Thanks!
jabez
Thanks, mindracing
Hi mindracing!
I downloaded the freeware from FunnySnake.com and voila! I can now make my own themes ... in 5 minutes or so!
Thanks for the info ... thanks to this forum!
jabez
Does this work for 2003?
Yes, it does.

hey mate sorry for the late response; it's the weekend and i don't access my office email...which probably warrants my finding a solution to sync when not in the office...
anyway; i use bvrp theme manager. had it for ages now; bought it when i was still based in hong kong. what i did was:
1) saved the pic posted by gaz (saved as jpeg in any folder of your pc)
2) used bvrp theme manager...but right now you've got loads and loads of options for freeware theme managers
3) theme manager allows you to customize all the settings (e.g. colors, transparency, etc)
4) saved the file
5) normally the theme is in a ".tsk" file; you can see this when you download free themes over the internet
6) i then installed the theme i created into my ppc
7) once installed, i then went to the windows folder of my ppc; located the theme with the tsk file and extracted it
8) placed it on any folder in my pc, zipped it and then attached it in the forum
9) there you go mate
cheers

today screen theme

hi guys, i know this is child's play for most of you but i've got a problem in not being able to change the today theme on my prophet-clicking on start, settings, today-i am given a drop box with the several variations provided by orange plus the extra ones i've put in myself-but they ywon't load up-any of them and they never have. i have looked in the windows folder on the phone and found all necessary tsk files etc-is this a problem with my rom? do i need to change it?
please help!!
thanks for your time.
slinkey
Probably you find it on My documents folder under .tsk (device) but also you can change it:
Start
Settings
Today
And on this screen, choose the theme for your device, or why not, a picture as the background.
If you have an extra .tsk, put it on my documents folder and then make the same spets I mentioned like: start, settings....
Thanks for the advice but I can find these optionis (going from start, settings, today) and i have a list of various themes--supplied by Orange but when i click on them they don't change. i CAN change the today screen photo-but not the theme. Any ideas??
thanks for your time.
slinkey
From the last page you where on you need to select the items tab and then deselect "Orange" it should then go to your selected theme

OFFICIAL: MIUI - Share your customized icons here and mini-HOWTO.

So miui had been great and allows us to customize our own icon on launcher. So I thought maybe we can share our icons here for theming needs.
Some background for those who are not aware of what this is.
In MIUI, at first boot after flashing, miui will rip through your list of apps in /data/app/ and extract the icon associated with that app and put it into the "/data/system/customized_icons_1" folder. For instance, if I have the appbrain app on my /data/app/, there will be a corresponding PNG file in /data/system/customized_icons_1/com.appspot.swisscodemonkeys.apps.png.
Now what do you do with this PNG file?
First of it's an image file, and if you do theming or for some reason you don't like the default icon, you can certainly replace them with newer icon.
So cool, how do I replace the default icon?
OK, so go find an icon of your choosing in PNG format and specific size (check mine for sample). Rename your new PNG to the exact same name of the app, so in my example the new icon I downloaded named "someofthepic.png", then I'll rename it to "com.appspot.swisscodemonkeys.apps.png" to match with appbrain.
After you renamed it, upload these to /data/system/customized_icons_1/ and reboot your phone. You will then have a brand spanking new icons.
This process can be applied to newly installed apps as well.
CREDIT: these icons are from Suave HD theme I got over miui forum.
I know the app but not sure what is the related "system" name of the app, what do I do?
Head over to http://www.androlib.com/, put in the name of your app, in my example it'll be "appbrain" and search. Scroll to the middle of the page, the section above screenshot will have what is call a "Package Name". This is the one that you need to copy&paste.
EDIT: these customized icons will only work if your apps are located on /data/app and if MIUI launcher parsed it to create an icon in /data/system/customized_icons_1 folder. For maps and other which is system apps, you will have to tinker with the apk itself or the framework-res.apk
Thanks for the write-up, I swapped a couple of icons (Yahoo!, facebook, ScanLife and Spare Parts..) and plan to make more custom icons to match for the others I have installed now..
Great guide. Already been doing this since miui started on the evo, but go od to show others
-Swyped away on my addiction
Thanks for the how to! Already put my newfound knowledge to use!
cool dudes, glad it helps out...
After following the steps to change the icons. It worked after the reboot but after subsequent reboots, Miui reverted back to the original icon. I am using version 11.5 stable. Any thoughts as to why this may be occurring?

Same here. Some of the ones I changed are still my custom icon, where the others reverted back to the original ones.
I'm trying to change my Google maps app icon and I cant
Yup I got it to work but after a couple of reboots and and some mounts to the computer, some of them reverted back to default and after a check inside the customzied_icon folder they had reverted there to and after a delete of the file and a copy with the new icon it directly reverted back.

I had the icons there and reboots countless of times but not reverting back. What you experience is that might be some of the apps got updated in market and therefore, icons revert back obviously, and yes you have to replace them again.
Maybe I'm missing something, but I couldn't find the folder "/data/system/customized_icons_1" anywhere, not on my phone, or on my sd card

[Q] Help with Wallpapers

Can someone help me get these wallpapers
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1103342
I like the Sony Ericsson wallpapers from this ROM, but i'm switching to EB.
I'll will donate to anyone who helps, after I set up my new Paypal.
Private message me your email so I can send them to you.
EDIT: The wallpapers included are stock Android 2.1+...
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA App
You should also be able to download the ROM (make sure this is a copy that you don't intend on trying to flash to your phone), extract it, go to /system/app and change the name of Launcher2.apk to Launcher2.zip, then extract that, and go into a folder called 'res', then inside a folder called, "drawable-hdpi', you'll find all kinds of static wallpapers.
I've done that several times to pull wallpaper from roms that I saw, including the stock g2x wallpaper.
Someone told me I could also use androzip (or maybe it was astro, can't recall) to insert files like jpgs and pngs INTO a zipped folder without extracting it first, thus leaving it in its flashable state...I haven't tried it yet, but maybe I"ll toy with that today after I make a good nandroid.
edit: I can't find that particular wallpaper in that folder location, so I'm going to keep digging and report back.
edit 2: Found it...it's in \system\etc\customization\content\com\sonyericsson\wallpaperpicker\wallpapers , all KINDS of cool wallpapers I hadn't noticed before in there...so thanks for motivating me to dig.

Problems with self-made Widgetlocker theme.

Hello,
I decided to create a Widgetlocker theme, I have created the files (preview file, left slider and background) I saved them as the following;
Android_background_3.png
Android_slider_left.png
Android_slider_right.png
Android_preview.png
I then used Winrar make them into an ZIP Archive. I called it SimplisticGingerbread.wltheme.zip, I then dragged it into the Widgetlocker data section of my device but it isn't appearing in WidgetLocker. The themes I've downloaded from the XDA Widgetlocker theme thread appear but mine don't.
Anyone have an idea what I've done wrong?
When I get this sorted I will be posting it up for the community
Nobody know what the problem is?
Finally sorted it out.
I renamed the files to iphone_ and Widgetlocker picked it up.
Nobody know what the problem is?
I've got the same problem and I had tried everything ... please help :S
