Data Issues on Kexec ROMs - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

I am curious as to where to go to follow the process that is being made in resolving the problems after installing a ROM via Kexec

Kexec is not what causes the data issues. I'm on stock rooted with a kexec kernel. Everything works fine. The issues you hear about are in regards to running CM9/10 which are bearly supported on the S3. If you are afraid of dealing with issues like data and mms then stick to beans, synergy, or nosympathy and you can still flash a custom kexec kernel.

Stable rom

Which in your opinion is the most stable rom for the g2x? I've been having problems with weapon., and cyanogen

Check out Tsugi 11-25 with the 11-28 roll-up. Everything works, and it's really stable. You can also try the custom kernel for it in post 3 of the thread.
+1 for Tsugi. A small correction: almost everything works. There are occasional reboots when unmounting the SD card (e.g., for USB access), the empty-battery shutdown doesn't work (yet), and USB tethering doesn't work (although the wifi hotspot does). Still, it's a great ROM, based on 2.3.4, with almost no problems.
You might also try the Baka ROM by the same dev (lotherius). It's based on the 2.3.3 Gingerbread release. I haven't used it, but it sounded good.
What are your stability requirements? I'm running CM7 nightly #201 and everything that I want to work actually does, with no reboots.
Thanks guys for the info. I've been having lots of data loses , calls not going thru

I've been using the nightlys that Baldwin's been posting without any problems ... Also been using fitsnuglys kangs and Tsugi's 2.3.4 without any problems ..

I use Faux's CM Nexus rom and it works great!
I did install the ELP 06102011b (1.1GHz Battery Safer) kernel which has been the only kernel that hasn't given me a boot loop, in case you're looking into modifying it.

Which custom ROM is most stable on the Verizon Samsung Galaxy S3? (September 2012)

Not looking for a JB ROM necessarily, just whichever one has the fewest problems, if any.
Thanks
beans if you want touchwiz, paranoid android if you want aosp.
I say cleanrom for most stable. But beans an clean rom are best place to start.

Very happy with paranoid 2.13

I'm using cleanrom, but I've tried beans as well. Both just work - no hassles.
I'm running synergy r68 and have had absolutely no issues with it or ziggys kernel.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
ran synergy r60 with zero issues.
switched the 9/6 build of paranoid android and have had zero issues.
i suggest trying a touchwiz rom and a CM10 rom and see whcih you prefer
Yea I should clarify that any of the Custom stock TouchWiz roms are stable, totally a preference thing ther...but on aosp, paranoidandroid 2.13 is by far the most stable!
Another happy CleanRom user here. I've only used stock (root66) and CM10 (still had too many issues for me as of a week or two ago).
Cleanrom/Cleankernel all the way baby!! Waiting for that lovely JB to drop (stable)
Gents, I'm a business user and though I like the feel and specs of the phone, most of the ROMs are kinda goofy with bright colors, silly fonts and the stock email app for corporate accounts is atrocious. Are any of the ROMs customizable to the point where I don't have to use yellow/brown/pink balloons in text, and can any of them support Visual VM?
Use jellywiz. The new leak has been running perfect for over a week now, and shouldn't be too different from stock to cause you any trouble
Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2
Guess that depends on what you you want stable. Theres a give in take with every rom you flash. If you want everything 'stable' stick with stock.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2
Why do people ask questions like this that have no real factual answers. The same ROM will run differently on a different phone/phone setup.
If you use the Trebuchet launcher you may get different/no bugs where as I, using Nova Launcher, will run into bugs...
The "unanswerability" of questions like these are half the reason they get locked up.
There is no best ROM for x to do y. Try using different ROMs to find what you like. Locked.

Moving back from TW to AOSP?

i just read this on Clean Rom, and there said that if you flash a TW rom (the ones with the JB leak) you can get problems to go back to AOSP, i have been on AOSP for a while so im not sure if this is true or just a rumor, thanks in advance.
I switched between them yesterday and I didnth notice any problems.
But maybe you should wait for a more legitimate answer.

another internet myth...i just just switched from stock deodexed j1 to cm10-linaro 11/15 with no issues.
ive lost NFC trying TW roms coming from AOSP.
other than that, you should be fine. ive done it wout any ill effects except the NFC stuff

Any custom rom running on 4.2 that is fully functioning?

Is there any custom rom that is 4.2, and that has everything working?
Most of them are not fully working. And also none of the one that i have found dont have the camera working.
Sent from my RAZR HD using Tapatalk 2
every 4.2.2 rom i've used has had a working camera, it'st he camcorder that doesn't work...and the last couple i've used, that's been all that didn't work...xenon, slimbean, aokp...even cm10.1 the only thing that's not working right now is the camcorder...i've read that it's a kernel issue...until our kernel gets updated to 4.2.2...there isn't going to be a 100% working 4.2 rom
I'm not getting,sound search either

I'm just happy to be on a rooted and unlocked aosp right now stepping up to 4.2.1+ can wait for me until its all sorted

Eclipse V 1.3
Everything will not work until we get 4.2 update...until then if you want fully functional ROM then use stock.

I have gps problems on all 4.2. Roms. Every single one. Im not able to get a fix. Stock Rom GPS works like a charm though.

Yes and no...if you search on this forum you will see Hashcode working on an AOSP kernel for the device. He is making progress and vows to continue to work on it. But I do agree that if you want a fully functional ROM then you should use stock or something that is based on stock but 4.1.2
AFAIK there is not any 4.2 version bugfree. Unless camcorder is not working for any of them until today

Have you tried the fix where you lock GPS on stock, then flash the 4.2.2 rom? That seemed to work for me. I was having the same issues with GPS not locking, but now it works just as it did with stock.

For the couple of ROMs I've tried, I've not had any media audio out through bluetooth or through USB to my car dock.
CM10 has corrected the problem of the video camera and GPS. Currently, the only bug you have is a black screen that appears at random, but is resolved by rebooting. I think it's the best ROM today.

Phone Freezes At CM Splash Screen Updated

So after I flashed 10.2 I can only boot my Verizon s3 on the first initial boot. If I ever have to reboot the phone, it locks up at cyanogenmod flash screen. The only way I can get the phone to boot back up after this, is to do a battery pull and boot into twrp. Then do a full format, doing just a factory reset doesn't work. Once I complete a full format, I can restore one of my backup images and the phone will boot once, and that's it. Then I have to start the process all over again, any ideas?
Don't know if this helps but I'm currently running OSE 4.3.1, but have tried with dirty unicorn & liquid smooth.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
Well I managed to get this fixed not 100 percent sure on how, what I did was flash stock deodexed image in twrp, then started flashing from 10.1.3 and then to 10.2. I'm not sure which helped, but after this I was able to restore any of my previous roms and they boot just fine now.

Were your backups all AOSP 4.3 as well or TW?

I find if I'm getting an infinite bootloop like that, flashing stock seems to sort **** out. That's the case on the LG and Motorola phones I've owned as well.

Yep I guess so, still learning on all of this custom rom stuff. I tried everything prior to just flashing stock rooted rom, wasted a ton of time wish I would of thought of it sooner.
Below are some current rom's that i'm running all seem to be very stable with very little bugs.
Current Rom:[ROM][OFFICIAL][4.3] CM10.2 M1 for d2vzw so far this rom seems to be very stable have only had one random reboot since I flashed it yesterday.
Backup Up Rom's:
1. So far my all time favorite with very little issues:[ROM][4.3.1][Official][OSE Rom][d2vzw]
2. I really enjoy this rom only complaint is the cell service on it doesn't seem to be quite as stable:[ROM] [Team D.I.R.T] Dirty Unicorns 4.3.1 - d2vzw v3.9
3. Another very stable rom, only complaint is with the radio sometimes after a reboot radio doesn't work and you have to do a battery pull:[ROM][4.3][OFFICIAL] LiquidSmooth v2.10 - d2vzw - 10|6|13

I wonder if we'll see this issue pop up with the TW 4.3 OTA we're rumored to receive this month.
