Help guys please I need fast Rom and very stable on sensation
Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using xda premium
Try a few out and see what you think but personally I like lightning Rom, its fast and stable. Every one has different opnions when it comes to these things so I highly highly recommend you try several out for yourself to form your own opinion. I personally like lightning because it is very fast and very stable and has customizations and over the air updates that don't require a computer to flash when a upgrade comes. Also your notified when a mod or upgrade is available which is nice because not everyone has the time to search to see if a update is available. The instructions for updating are on page one of development. I have had no force closes or reboots or freezes.it is sense 4 Also it comes with the newest sense 4.5 camera and burst mode works properly! These are some personal reasons I choose lightning.however I still suggest you try out several so you can form your own opinion.this is what I did. I've tried almost all ics roms. However everyone is different and opinions differ . It all depends on what you want personally. I wanted something fast yet stable with customizations. So again try several then make your decision.we are lucky to have different options for different tastes. I really hope this helps. Happy flashing!

Is it faster than viper s? That is; is it better than viper s ?

I can't say it's still a beta
Check the links in my sig for my sensation. Has my phone running really quick with good battery life too!
All are same.

Is all a matter of opinion but yes in benchmark scores lightning is faster than viper.at least it was in the benchmark I took. But give both a try and form your own opinion. Is always best to try out for yourself and to see which Rom is best suited for you're needs. People are different and opinions are very different so take a look and try them out for yourself. I'm sure you will find what meets your needs. With so many great roms to choose from! Best of luck to you! Happy flashing

what is the difference between sense 3.0 and 3.5? and which one was on the stock sensation 4g?
3.0 came on sensation 4g
i think that we needed a new platform to support these new senses 3.0 and 3.5
InsertCoin is the best ROM for the Sensation hands down. Performance and battery life is outstanding.

This is funny!
I would say you try by yourself and decide for yourself, Everyone has different opinions and will probably give you their own personal perspective.
You might have a different opinion and like something else or maybe not. just flash the most used ones and see if you like them and go from there.

I agree with this guy here as opposed to the other two members. I've tried BOTH roms listed and they're basically the same. Just very ever so slightly different. I used to use ARHD but then I started using other roms because Mike doesn't update his often. InsertCoin gets updated pretty good but I experience issues once in a while (it's nothing severe though) and it's not a bad rom at all. I'm using bulletproof though because I love all the mods he adds on. It's really up to you, gotta try and find out what you want and like.
Agree that it's up to you to try, test, tune, etc what's best for your needs & likes! Take a deep read in the Development section...happy flashing!
CM7 is the best rom on sensation by far.
CM7.

I started using custom ROMs with my G1 and CyanogenMod. I stuck with that exclusively for a really long time through different devices. Since it has taken a while for CM to come out on the Sensation, I started flashing all kinds of different ROMs. That's the beauty of Android and XDA. You can try all kinds of stuff out and decide what you like the best. I currently use Android Revolution HD 4.1.3 (Android 2.3.5, Sense 3.5) with the Amaze camera. I'll use this until a stable version of CM comes out with a better camera. I also use ADW.Ex launcher. This works for me for now because it has a really nice camera, but I've tried a TON of ROMs. Whatever you do, ALWAYS search for answers, use the appropriate forums (General, Q&A, Themes & Apps) properly, and have fun.

Cm7. If I want a sense buzz I'll go with bulletproof 2.15. You can't beat those tweaks.

I checked the following thread and made my decision: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1200118
I don't want to give recommedations since there are a couple of awsome mods floating out there...
If you like Sense and eye pleasing colours and animations go with CoreDroid. Wipe battery stats when you flash a new rom (made a big difference for me).
Like the title says. In your opinion what do u like the best. I'm currently running ExtremeSensation Dream 2 by TheLegendaryLegends.
I've just got the ce and loving it. Wanted to know if I'm missing out on an amazine Rom that's hidding someware lol
Thanks in advance for replys.

I prefer Android Revolution HD (i'm on 6.5.1, will try 6.5.2 later today), InsertCoin also worked like a charm on my device. At the end it's personal preference I think. But look at the number of replies on the ARHD thread, it shows how active the Android Revolution team and the community is. The support is amazing. I love it.
I am using elegancia rom, arhd is simple rom where u must add every think by yourself, elegancia have everything built in, and also is beautifle. Aaaand also u can chose some options in instalation like oc kernel (better cpu, like 1,5 or 1,7 instead 1,2). Give it a try, i wont be dissapointed.

IC is by far the smoothest and it gets updated at least 2 times per week. ARHD is good too but I always return to IC! Try them and choose the one that fits your needs

+1 for Android Revolution The support is mega, thats what i love more than anything.
Fair enough you may have to add modds / tweaks yourself, But thats because not everyone wants a ton of mods n stuff, Some people just want a stock looking custom ROM.
IMO its better than having them all built into the ROM and having to dissect it to remove the stuff you dont want..
But the main thing is personal preference.... There is not better / worse ROM

I must agree with that, u must try it for u self and decide. Unless there is a rom, wich is very, very, very bad, but talking about all main roms, u must decide for u self.
Thanks guys. I'm going to try each one of these roms that has been mentioned.. What I'm looking for is something that looks good, has very good battery life and is fast. First one I'm going to try is InsertCoin. Is there any good asop roms floating about.. I used to use Oxygen Rom on the HTC Desire S.
Thanks for the replys there very helpfull.

all roms are same only themser, mods, kernels, which you can flash so its pity to compare peoples work but i bet they all are same cos based on same leak
I really love insertcoin roms... Really good stuff

I'll look into that one... Green time lol I tryed Prime 5 yesterday. It was perfect for me but the only thing that made me change my Rom was because the GPS didn't work at all... It's a shame because I really liked Prime 5.

I prefer stock looking roms so I'd have to say, ARHD. I've been using it awhile now and really havn't had any complaints. Plus the support is very good!
Take a look at Lee Droid as well. Supposed to be really good

What kind of kernel would you recommend for a 4.0.3 Rom with sense 3.6?and also what kernel no.
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA
Try them, everyone feels differently about them. Honestly, I don't notice a realistic difference between any of em, so I use stock.
You can't tell a difference o.k.
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA
I am by no means an expert in this and fairly new myself, however in my experience the cooks have done a pretty good job of matching the best kernels to there rom's. Some even have multiple ones to choose from during installation.

As with anything else results are going to be different from one phone and user to the other. Read the forums, use the search option first before you post a question. Lots of times the question has already been asked and answered. When you find something that has helped you,use the Thanks button. Have fun!!

so far the best rom and kernel combination for me is insertcoin 5.1.8 and bricked 0.55-b5...on ultra light usage(1h screen on,mostly standby) i get as much as 4 days...
and with heavy usage it lasts at least 1day...
Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e
i tried 3 most used kernels, with 3 most used roms. i choose bricked with arhd. also faux can be chosen.
I use Faux Kernel, it's best kernel in my used.long battery life and not lag performence.
Im planning to maybe pass on my sensation to my 67-year-old father. It would be his first smartphone as well as first touchscreen one.
The issue is, that my father is not an expert in electronics by far (barely knows how to read and write text messages). His old phones have been plain nokias (yeah the legendary ones) and such. Also his fingers are very thick (about the size of a billiard stick).
Alas what do you think would be the best ROM to suit him?
What im looking for is a simple interface, easy to use, and something that has good batterylife (he often forgets to charge his phone)
Trying out different ROMs isnt that simple to him because if he learns to use one function of a ROM then it will be difficult to adjust to a different ROM that functions differently.
So what do you suggest?

How about virtuous inquisition,? It is senseless, stable, excellent battery life, no frills, Rom. I personally think that would be a excellent choice for seniors. He won't have any problems with it. Hope this helps. I know if I gave my mom a Rom , I likely would choose this for her. This way he won't be burdened with problems or battery drain .I think this is the best choice. Best wishes .

That might be a good solution
Im currently running Bruces CM10 kang and I think its a little bit too complex

VI is my favorite stable ROM but I'd have to say that MIUI is the best ROM for an elderly person. The large icons, the simplicity, really everything is much easier on it except for the browser (download dolphin instead).
Good luck
Thanks for the good answers
Do you guys think ics would easier than gb?

I think it is opposite. Gb is easier than Ics..also as CM7...If you install CM7 you can install launcherpro or other launcher, and resize big icons on your preferances. i think that ics has much "rigid" interface than cm7.
ics has incorporated those bloatware "beasts" like tweeter, facebook chat,gtalk...etc. etc...so you should think to remove them from rom before installation.just to avoid sporadic popups and notifications that could confuse him...CM7 does not have it. (and it is noot needed to have).
I recommend Hypersensation CM7 .
I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that a stock looking Sense Rom like ARHD would be suitable for elders. Sense widgets are pretty user friendly, setup a coupe of home screens (not the default 7). I think that would work. That's whhat I would do if I had to give an android phone to my parents.
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using Tapatalk 2
If you are going the MIUI route, gb/ics/jb are practically all similar. From my experience ICS had over 20hour battery where GB had like 12hour so you might want to look into that as well.
I'd go back to stock or install hypermiui (by far the most battery efficient)

I ended up installing miui and he surprisingly manages with it quite well!
Battery lasts for at least two and a half days, and theres not much that he could do to screw up the phone.

You should try out several different roms and see which works best for you. If your looking for jelly bean I personally run Paranoid Android by Dragun korr. With his new kernel 3.0.52 many people are reporting excellent battery life. Myself included. There Rom is very stable and has a lot of customisation available. Every one is different with there likes and dislikes but I'd give this a try and see what you think about it. If you search you will find most people will advise you try several out for yourself to see which is best for you. I Hope this is helpful and wish you the best. I don't think paranoid Android will disappoint. But give it a try for yourself and see if it suits your needs. I've been very happy with it.

How many hours is your battery life on this rom?
Sent from my HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio Z715e using xda app-developers app
Check all ROM threads. Half of users cry for bad battery life and other half are happy with excellent battery life .
In short, the results are vary widely across users of same ROM. Try all ROM urself whichever you like and check results. It won't take much time to flash ROM and net it run for few hours.
I know that just answer the question for us to be noticed
