I've been reading http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1775566
I went through all 20 pages, but just couldn't figure out if there is an unlock.
I know people are saying to push files by using HiAPN and some carrier info app, but does anyone know an unlock?

I'm trying to use an at&t sim in a Verizon GS3.
The only way that I've seen people be able to do this is using the network lock menu, when I enter it, there are not options.
Anybody know something that might cause this?
Hi there, Im probably going to get a lot of replies telling me how easy this is but im stuck, so my friend brought over a 16gb Samsung galaxy s3 from America to New Zealand, where I currently am, the model number of the phone is SCH-I535 if that changes anything but okay when I put a 2degrees sim card in it (my current network provider) it doesnt work. Ive been told and attempted the service menu unlock method but putting in the code *#197328640# nothing happens but I was able to access the service menu by putting in the code *#0011# and that method worked but I was only able to get as far as clicking network lock option, when I click that it just comes up with a blank screen. Are there any other methods to sim unlock? Dont care how extensive it is or if it requires rooting and a computer just want to be able to use this phone with my sim and current network. Or if anyone has the fix to the blank screen after clicking network lock then thats great too. Please help, ive been trying to do this for so long now and just want this phone to work.
Thanks!
[Q] T-Mobile SIM Unlock - Can't manually enter SIM Unlock Code - "Use Unlock app"
Turns out I still don't have coverage at home with T-Mobile's network. I purchased my Z3 D6616 outright (full price). However, when I insert a SIM from another carrier, I get this message* instead of the usual prompt to enter a SIM unlock PIN. I guess they only want you to use their new unlock tool, as a way to prevent 3rd party unlocks.
Am I really stuck using T-Mobile for 2 months because this phone cannot be unlocked manually with a PIN, like most phones? Is there any workaround to bring up the menu to enter the unlock code?
*This device can be remotely unlocked if eligible. Please use the Device Unlock application to unlock the device. . ."
I have the same issue. Unfortunately I was not able to find a solution yet.
I've read somewhere that the Simlockunlockapp.apk is missing from the firmware (this is the default app used by Android to display the network unlocking popup).

Yeah, I'm betting they removed the ability to do so in favor of their new "Device Unlock" app, that way people cannot unlock via a 3rd party. I'm bummed because I already paid for an unlock code, but have no way of entering it! :crying:
I believe legally they have to unlock. Try calling customer support.

I hope you are not a "current" T-Mobile user, because if you are they do it after 45 days of activation for free.
Do you find a solution? maybe if we root the phone and install another rom we can have the ability to input the network code, another thing I did was refill my t-mobile account to a total of $100 USD to make me eligible to use the "unlock app"

I have an unlocked US Cellular Galaxy S6 and I use my Straight Talk sim card (running off AT&T towers) and calls and texts work but there's no option anywhere in settings to enter apn settings. I bypassed this using an app but I would like to know a fix and not just a work around. I'm VERY familiar with Androids and I've never encountered this issue and searching hasn't led me to any answers.
Anyone? I also keep getting a + symbol with incoming calls and its annoying
Anything? Lol

There's a thread over at teamuscellular.com. it involves getting into the service menu. I used a USC S6 on TMO for a while. Also maybe a csc edit to show the default apns, and you'll just edit it and it'll stick. It's been a while...I'm just trying to point you in the right direction.
Hi all, just picked up a Note 5 that was supposedly unlocked as they were using it on Straight Talk. I put my SIM card in and it just pops up saying Invalid SIM Card. I go to change tge APNs and they are greyed out and I cannot save them. Tells me I dont have permission to edit or something like that. Any ideas??

It's not unlocked.
Look up idone.apps or a similar service. I used idone.apps. They unlocked sim, and added apn for att.

Is your note 5 rooted? Can you still use samsung pay?

It is rooted. I dont use samsung pay by choice. But my understanding is if you have root. No samsung pay. I have never tried. I live in central Illinois. Not that big here yet.
I would assume it was locked however I don't get the pop up telling me to enter my PIN to unlock it. It just opens like normal and says invalid SIM card. Then if I try to add an APN it shows none and doesn't allow me to add. Any way to see in a hidden menu of it is set to carrier unlocked or to get the PIN menu to show up?

You have to get root and use online service to get unlocked. After that contact at&t and give you imei number to provision your phone. Make sure you have a lte sim card from at&t first. With root your able to edit apn.

If it says invalid sim and you cant edit apn then the sim is locked to whatever carrier. It is not unlocked. Going to have to use an unlocking service.
I used idone.apps after the service has ran you have access to hidden menu, radio settings, and a few other tools in the unlock apk form idone.app. phone will reboot twices during unlocking service. Then att sim will work. I didnt have to call att to have them do crap.

Thanks guys! I ended up paying the $5 for the service to unlock from Ebay. Cheers.
