Hello,
I opened this thread because i want that people can read and see what the best phone is for him.
The most people will say that the samsung galaxy s3 is the best phone, but that's because its very populair by the galaxy series
The htc one X and the lg optimus 4x speed are good devices too.
Please write your opinion and experienced with your 'best phone' so people can see what they might will buy.
Please do it in this order, so it's easier to read
Name of the device
Android version
Price
Screen (inch)
Number of cores
Amount of ram
Battery (Mah)
Camera (Mp)
Good points
Bad points
Description/opinion ( why should we buy this device?)

Honestly it will come down to the user "you".
Sure there are plenty of awesome new high spec phones out there. But each one will define the user, say.. ex. The Razr? It has 22-24 hours of talk time? That's impressive, most high end phone recently released can't do this.
You'll just have to look through the specs and find the one you think will meet your needs. I'm on the Droid incredible, my eye is in the nexus. Its nearly perfect for me as an upgrade, features have nice specs "except the cam/corder" not sure what Samsung was thinking
But in every other department it fits my needs.

I am in the process of buying an Android phone. Samsung Captivate or HTC Desire Z. Any suggestions? I am new to Android and I am new xda.
I feel like I'm trapped in a time warp here that I just can't escape.
First, welcome to XDA.
Second, you obviously have access to the internet or you wouldn't be on here.
With that said, GOOGLE and YOUTUBE could provide you with more information that you can handle on these two phones. Google can give you specs, reviews, pictures and other things like prices and best places to buy. Youtube can provide you all of that same information is some cases along with a video review and actually being able to see the phones in action. Of course you can then compare the two phones based on the videos, specs and reviews and make a pretty good decision on which one is right for YOU.
I'm not really sure what else to say here dude. I mean, I could give you my opinion but at the end of the day what I have to say about the phones doesn't matter. YOU are going to be using the phone, not me. You know what you will use it for, where you will use it and what you want on it. Just research both phones (I dont mean ask people questions about it, get FACTS about the phones), opinions do not really matter most of the time when it comes to a PERSONAL device.
Or you can do like 80% of the people do these days and buy something just because "everyone else is doing it".
Hi at all.. well i'm thinking on buy a new phone for me.. so i like read your opinons about the best phones..!! for you..!! i like buy a phone that be the latest but that have a lot of new tools.. I think that the Glaxy Note is great.. but it's important for me know about your opinion because.. your have more experience than I.. Thanks..!!
If the galaxy note is your type of device, then go for it. I personally dont like the screen size. Also, it usually wise to wait a week or two after a release to see how the developer forum for that device lights up, that way you know what kind of support to expect.
Simple answer...
The one you can afford and does what you want it to.
I am not surethat the majority of us use our phones to their greatest extent. Obviously if you need a particular thing use that as a yard stick. Personally I have a sensation - but that was down to some Ebay wizardry and selling my Iphone 4 for a good price. Im sure the desire would have been as useful except for watching streaming movies.
There is no such as "best" phone, what is best for me may not be for you.

Hi
Are there a list of things that a first time smartphone user should know. i am asking this cause i have never used a smartphone ever in my life. in fact i have never spent more than 50 dollars on a phone.
so please if you could please give me a headstart on what a smartphone noob should know
Well, first thing is what device now graces your eyes and hands? Second thing would be to read a little bit about your device.
Not saying that you will want to jump straight in and ROOT your phone but there is tons of information that might help you like what case or maybe different apps that help with battery life.

Do your research on each phone your looking into. Get to know your phone before trying to do any ROM/Kernel changes. Also be sure to research and do your homework before attempting any changes at risk of damaging the phone.
Be sure to know what you want in a smart phone as they can be very expensive, play with one at local best buy / see videos / reviews before you purchase. Depending on your carrier know if your looking for a 4G phone that you know it is a 4G phone. Research the specs, hardware, software. There isn't much flagship advice one can give you about using your phone that you cannot find out by just playing with the phone and seeing whether you enjoy it. Just know there is tons to do and with time you will easily learn the OS/Phone you enjoy.
Best advice is: Research and know what device you want before getting it, save money if you don't like it & play with one to learn / see if you enjoy that OS or phone.
I am using the HTC one x
Your best bet would be to do your research. Read, read and read some more. Learn what your device can and can not do. Most things you will not have to worry about depending on your needs.
One word you have one x..so good screen best for.HD porno

Most people use smartphones as a portable entertainment platform.... so learn how to download music, videos and games to your device and enjoy it
Learn power management , these phones can use a lot of power if you do not control it, when i got my first smart phone the battery would die in 8 or so hours, now i can get a day an half out of it maybe two without recharging it...
Example set your screen brightness down to50 % or less, email retreival to once a day and then check it manually. put a data off short cut on your main screen , turn it on/off as needed...

You are using a Smartphone for the first time and you had never used phone above $50. So I will not make you confuse by giving a list of Smartphones. I have choosen a Samartphone with every great feature and choosen as seeing you as a first time Smartphone user. Today most popular Smartphones are Android devices so you should by an Android Smartphone and you will have to spend at least $300. You need a phone with good camera, good music Input and Output quality and a touchscreen with a good touch response. So my suggestion is you can buy HTC Wildfire S its cost is about $300 maybe below $300. It has a 5 Megapixel camera with LED Flash, 3.2 Inch Capacitive touchscreen,3G, WiFi, GPS, HTC Sesnse User Interface 2.1, 512 MB ROM, 512 MB RAM, Android 2.3 and it has every feature that you think about a good Smartphone.
HTC one X is a brilliant phone. Read this

That should be a good start.

Hey Folks,
as my HTC HD2 died last week after 4 incredible years i was looking for a new Phone to go for.
After making some research on the Net i decided to buy a Motorola Moto G.
The price/performance relation seems to be stunning due to the countless reviews i read about this device.
Maybe there are better ones (related to price/performance relation) which are available in Asia but it is a pity,
that these devices are most kind of still not available in Germany or maybe also other big parts of the world.
This Phone is often mentioned as a beginners model in many reviews. I do not see it like that, cause the
specifications of this phone are at least for me more than enough. Even as a heavy user which plays a lot due to
modding and custom-rom related stuff.
I asked myself how many People will buy or bought already a Moto G. Will this device be a global break through?
What do you think? For that question i wanted to start a poll to count how many Users we have got here on XDA.
I hope that i made the right decision for me and that there will be a lot of development for this phone in future.
EDIT: Sorry for the mistakes in the poll.
i think for the money the g is a great device. but even for the money i KNOW in the US you wouldnt find a phone with similar specs in that price range. alot of the reviewers negative remarks on the device are just being picky. Trying to rank it up with devices 2x the price is really not fair.... But the fact that it does what it suppose to do as a phone in the real world and offer unlocked platform SHOULD have any xda member look twice at this phone! the g will be a welcome addition and to me will show that you dont need all these touchwiz and sense ui to make a phone great while offer it at a price point thats just not seen in todays smartphone world!
also should have my g in my hands later today so i cant wait!!!
I don't own the device (more interested in the Moto X, but skeptical of lacks of devs and roms), but I hope the Moto G is a good landmark to look back one day at the transitioning away from the whole overpriced post paid contract business model of American carriers. Unfortunately, I don't think it will be seen as a breakthrough by the mass in US since everyone see the worth of phones being $99 or $199 with their contract, so even without contact which they aren't used to the Moto G isn't seen as anything different for them. Whether it's a breakthrough or not is depending on how many billions Google decided to run ads campaign for it compared to Samsung and Apple for their devices.
I love what Google is doing with the prices though, already a decent chunk of people to demand better value for their money and hopefully that will grow and cause other manufacturers to adjust their prices. Besides you wouldn't want to pay a few hundred dollars extras just for the privilege of using something with more bloatwares with slow updates.

I've been looking around lately for something to replace my HTC One M7, and so far the M8s (GSMArena info page) is looking really good... But I was very sad to see that there doesn't seem to be much (any?) custom development for it at the moment. Unfortunately searching XDA for phrases with such short words ("HTC One M8s") really doesn't show anything useful, I assume because the search filters lump "M8" and "M8s" together as "singular" and "plural", so it's quite possible that I've simply missed some vital info somewhere.
I'm also somewhat limited by device size since I have one paralyzed arm, so I actually need a phone that's still usable with one hand. Even though us tall and scrawny people do have long fingers, any screens over 5" is just plain awkward to use and I start getting hand cramps after about 10 minutes of use. While all the "mini" variations of newer phones seem to be underpowered or lacking in features. :/ If it wasn't for the screen sizes, I'd quite happily go for something like a LG G4 or an Asus Zenfone 2.. *sigh* Such gorgeous phones.
On a related note (and within as much as anyone can trust people's "opinions" on the internet), I have seen a fair number of people complaining online about the higher heat generated by the Snapdragon 801 chips included in the original M8, which is another reason I'm so interested in the M8s with it's SnapDragon 615 chip.
So, just to check, are there any plans to create a forum for this device? Or is there simply not enough demand for it..?
