Ive been watching this thread for a few days now and i notice that there's not much activity going on compare to the prime thread (which i came from).
With that said, I'm wondering if everyone is satisfied with their Tf700 (since usually only people with problems post questions) or is everyone simply busy waiting for the mailman?
Thanks,
me - waiting for mailman......
I'm satisfied, I think it's just people are waiting for jellybean to drop. I know I'm watching that CM10 thread like a hawk lol

Returning mine this weekend:
- light bleed on the lower left corner
- laggy and sluggish even after manually updating the software
- for some reason mine is heating up on the top left back when playing games, as hot as the New ipad...barable when holding but not when you pleace it on your bare-skin lap...
problem is it's already out of stock where I got it...

is this your first infinity?
I got mine a week or two ago and I can honestly say that I have been very satisfied with it! Have had it freeze up once or twice. But those are prolly just bugs that have yet to been worked out. It is true there is a little light bleed, but not enough to upset me at all.

I'm returning mine because the glass doesn't appear to be glued correctly to the rest of the case, resulting in noticeable "give" and noises when applying even small pressure along the edge of the case. Very annoying when holding the device.

I just did a search on Ford Edsel because I did not know what it was. The first webpate was the wikipedia page. The second page was this one: http://www.time.com/time/specials/2007/article/0,28804,1658545_1657867_1657781,00.html
For some reason, I can't click on the insert link button. But it made me chuckle.

For a $600 device and it's performing at its worst (lagging, SD card issue, head phone jack volume too low, light bleed etc..) you should said: "currently I'm not satisfied, but in the future when and if when everything is working normally I will be satisfied". Other wise you are not smart at all bro!
I'm super satisfied. I'm really impressed. I usually hate anything in it's stock state, but this tablet is working very well as is. As soon as there are some additional rom/kernel options though I will root/unlock and get flashing.
I am very satisfied with the tablet "experience/software" and based on the huge progress/improvements in the latest OTA from ASUS I know great things are ahead. I am however disappointed that I have received 4 poorly made tablets.
ASUS needs to step up their quality control.
I return my Gray due to as screen separation and light bleeding, exchange with champagne, and on its way hopefully I will get a perfect fit device finger crossed
Edit got my infinity minimal light bleed on the bottom but everything else running smooth, ill keep this one

Same here. This is my 4th Tranformer device and after Prime, I thought that I will not buy an Asus again, but after using TF300 for sometime I was convinced that I should give TF700 and so far I really like it. With that said, if Asus makes another attempt to rehash the same design as previous Transformer, I will be looking else where for new tablet as this design (specially with one speaker) is getting too old.
Just got my infinity today (after a dreadful 8 hour first charge) and everything looks fine...
Wifi - using Wifi Analyzer (at home with router within 10 feet) -45dBM compared to my gs2 have -40dBM
GPS - 10 out of 10 lock under 15 seconds indoors on the second floor of my building
Screen - Minor screen bleed on the right side
Google Map - No zoom in issue reported from xda
OTA - auto OTA update when first booted
Unlock - N/A (will try after playing with it for a few days)
Bluetooth - N/A (personally dun use any Bluetooth headphones)
BT/Wifi - N/A

I am happy and satisfied with my TF700, but there are still some things not perfect in my opinion. The Tegra3 is not supported as I wished it to be and the battery could be stronger. But the display is great and the thing with the perfect fitting dock is also fine! Maybe the problem with the Processor will be solved in a few months, when developers start building tegra3 optimized!
I've had mine for about a week now, have been using it as my primary device, and haven't looked back. Yeah, it's a little sluggish here and there, especially when switching apps or scrolling, but those are minor software issues that I feel sure will be fixed when Jelly Bean drops.
Essentially, I'm just biding my time until 4.1 hits.

It seems that my infinity is lagging some times, its inconsistent and I get "XXX is not responding"quite often and then close or wait, and when I connect the dock it happends even more often, and balanced mode seems to give better benchmark results than performance same story in games, this didn't happend on my prime but it did happend on tf300(I got the prime in February and returned it because the camera broke and I got the tf300 1 week Go and returned that as well for getting stuck really often)
This isn't so much a hardware problem but software look at Acer iconia tab a700 yes it is slower because of t30(infinity runs on t33) but it is consistent unlike the tf300 and 700 so Asus plz fix

There are believed to be I/O issues in the Infinity (and all Transformers for that matter). Using custom I/O scheduler after rooting seems to speed things up for those who did it, but doesn't remove the delays while installing apps etc. Actually, I believe this is pretty typical to Android devices, but I haven't used other high-end tablets, so can't compare with these.
My gnexus seemed to be fairly laggy on ics but jb seems to fix everything, and I don't seem t have any problems with multitasking

Well, I hope they shove JB out of the door soon, then. I love my TF700, but the I/O issues are a bit frustrating, since they actually lock up the device entirely. Hope they can patch it out, or that the ROM chefs in here can work their magic and kill the bug.
In reference to the OP statement about the Iconia A700's upposed fluidity: I've see several reviews chastizing the A700 for not being able to fluidly play HD video. The choppyness is clearly demonstrated in quite a few video reviews, as well. (I'm not saying that I/O is at fault in that case as well -- it might be the Tegra 3 chip having issues pushing all these pixels. Who will tell?)

This is interesting, as it is said to be the other way around with the device's speed here (but perhaps, on the other hand, browser doesn't depend on I/O so much):

Hmmm this seems rather odd to see ics crush jb but in jb I do get some really poor benchmarks, on antutu I get 3943 I get a lower score on the CPU compared to ics but that's fine because the os is much more polished
, there is literally no lag in the graphics I compared it to the iPhone 4s and iPad 3 and believe it or not jb is slightly smother in basic os operations and its also faster when opening apps oh and in vellamo I get ~1500 both on my tf700 and jelly beaned nexus which is quite impressive for a 8 month+ phone,
One more thing worth noticing is that on dolphin(tf700) I get I lower browsermark score compared to the stock browser,
But hey in the end those are just numbers and jb is a much smoother is that ics and dolphin runs in the tf700 better than stock
I may post a video just to show you how smooth jelly bean is

Which jelly bean ROM is the most stable and provides the mist functionality right now?
Sent from my One X using xda app-developers app
Bro, there are only 2 ROMS. Look in the Original Android Development thread. One is more stable than the other. One has more features than the other. You just need to do a bit of reading.
Just so I'm not flaming, CM10 is a bit more stable.
Sent from my HTC One XL using Tapatalk 2
im not sure either one will work?
I experimented with CM10. On my phone, it was not very stable. AT&T VM wouldn't set up, browsing was very hit and miss and wifi was very unreliable. Fun to play with, but I certainly couldn't use it as a daily driver yet.
CM10 has come along way right. It's working great at the moment I've been running it for a few days and there's been no hickups.
Take note that your battery might suffer thought.... At the most right now I'm getting 8hrs use but that said some other gents are getting 14hrs.... so take that into consideration.
But CM10 JB is good as daily driver. Everything or almost has now been fixed. Microphone/Speaker still needs work a bit thought. But for the most part definitely works good.
From the screen shot you can see that when I'm using my HOX the battery drain is quite fast but on standby its pretty good. There's more improvement coming along and it will shift into a beta stage shortly.

Yes I know this should be in apps and themes but everyone deserves to see this, especially us Tbolt guys.
This has been proven to be a placebo affect. I have tested it for almost 3 days now and it doesn't really help at all. Also someone mentioned in that forum it doesn't work properly with snapdragon processors because the rndg is different than others. If it does help at all I think it would help more for the lag that comes from not rebooting for a long period of time.

I have been using it with unsense and it hasn't really improved anything. No difference in performance without it either. Like I said it's a placebo caused by the fact that the tweak actually wakes your processor repeatedly which is why your phone seems to react better. You can use it if you like but it is really just a battery drainer. You can get the same performance increase by setting your governor on performance.

I ran it on nu sense and it drained my battery and noticed no improvement in speed. You see an increase because you want to see an increase. Its like throttle body spacers people puts on their cars. Suppose to improve performance and increase fuel mileage. They do no such thing but make a nice paper weight. People who had them swear they could feel an increase. One guy put his truck on a dyno and tested with it on and with it off. His results was with it on he lost a few hp. This is why butt dynos are so inaccurate because we make our selves believe we can see and feel a difference. When in fact there isn't.

Like I mentioned in my earlier post. It cause a wake lock on the processor making it wake repeatedly which is the likely reason that anyone notices anything. It in no way shape or form affects entropy which was the original intent of the app. Google has also stated that the very issue this is supposed to fix was actually fixed with the release of ICS. Try it on a gb rom and see if it actually works. Also, after you run it for a few days disable it and see if there is a decrease in performance. I've ran it for about three days and there is no difference without it running.

In neither case has it improved speed, launching or operations.
I wanted to believe. In my testing, i call it wishful thinking.
So I have the US version and I've had it for a while (about a month) and I'm really disappointed with the performance. Scroll lags, the notification shade pulls down smoother on a galaxy player (that has less than 500mb of ram and is single core) and the 3d gaming performance is laggy. Like GTA3 should be able to run on max settings! Just disappointed and expected more.

Try flashing Cyanogen Mod from the original android section. General ui is much snappier and it doesn't have game lag like all the 4.1.2 TW ROMs.
Samsung really dropped the ball with the 4.1.2 updates. A phone this powerful should not lag playing temple run.

Are you running it stock? Phone runs great with custom stock ROMs & Kernals, but everyone has their own opinions. The games i've played ive not have any lag, but i'm running a custom kernal and ROM. That probably has is the difference, but i'm not overclocked.
well there's only two things that are certain in this world.... no tech device is ever perfect and taxes always increase.
If you expect anything different you will always be disappointed.
That being said, I had ANdroid phones since the HTC Eris and they keep improving. S3 is really nice, maybe the best of this generation, but its not perfect.
Lots of people are looking for infinite gaming speed + infinite battery life... well the two don't go together. There are always trade-off. speed vs. power, vs. size, vs. cost.
Oh and by the way, multi-core is mostly a marketing gimmick. The GPU does most of the graphics work and most apps are not multi-threaded, so a fast single core beats a slower multi-core every time. It's cheaper to make a slow multi-core processor than to make a faster single core.
I also noticed lag on the device which i put off was caused by Touch Wiz. I confirmed this when i finally rooted and started trying different ROMs.
The lag is there in all TW ROM's for me; however if you really want to stick with TW, the smoothest running TW ROM I've tried so far is Goodness. That is what i'm currently using. I don't experience lag during gaming or Apps though even with touch wiz... so might be just your phone.
However, if you can do without touchwiz, the AOSP ROMs are like butter and i experience no lag at all. At least the 4.2.2 ROMS. I've tried Liquidsmooth, paranoid android, Pac-man and Chameleon.
Crazy I'm 100 % stock and my phone runs awesome! I don't do much gaming so I can't chime in on that but I don't have lag at all like you describe. Do you have a live wallpaper installed??
Sent from my GeeEssThree
I've tried a lot of the TW based ROM, Synergy, Hyperdrive , others and all the well developed one's run great for me. I don't see any lag. I also tried CM10 and no noticeable difference, I think a lot of the comment are caused by placebo effec, some people just hate OEM stufft. Also people will load up their home screens with 3000 widgets and say wow this phone / rom sucks, LOL m Then they load some new ROM with no widgets yet and go, wow this is really smooth....... until they load 3000 widgets and it sucks again. Hey , there really is a limit to performance on any phone.
Just wondering if anyone is still using their tf300 and how good is it running, because I just bought one and really wanted the keyboard that can attach to the tablet, which only the transformers seem to do that (which I also bought). I was going to get a tf700 but I dont think they should be making a 1080p screen with 1gb of ram and a tegra 3, tegra 4 and 1080p would be a much better match IMO. I'm excited to get my tf300 in the next week or so.

Yes I love mine on CMB 4.4.2, but i also have a 700, and I think your kind of right, and kinda of wrong.. For video and streaming which is a lot of what I do with mine...it blows the 300 out of the water.. There are very few games out there the for it that it cant run at least at 30 FPS....But they are both very good tablet with unlocked bootloader and custom roms... The stock stuff is bloated and overwhelms the hardware after not that much usage...

I just bought it and the first day I saw lag... and within a day things are crashing. I choose the 4.2 setup. is it just unusable or could it work well after a root (I am a noob)?

Not sure, what "the 4.2 setup" means to you, but are you running stock Asus ROM?
Try one of the KitKat ROMs, they are running very smooth!

Yeah the stock ROM isn't that stable or good. Get a custom ROM: CROMi-x or something KitKat flavored.
thanks
Thanks everybody.
By 4.2 I was referring to an in asus stock option.
I'd love as stock Kit Kat as possible. Does stock android support the keyboard battery combo? Anybody have any good links?
The only rooting I've done was my GS3 using motochopper but left everything stock just needed hotspotting. So if there is a rooting boot camp please share.
So my tf300 is coming tomorrow! What are the benefits of the different roms, jb or kitkat?

In short: JB is older, more mature, most bugs ironed out. KK is cutting edge, running noticeably smoother, but you might run into one or another bug.

got mine running cromix (jellybean), sbdags has got this stock based rom running like a dream, lots of tweaks and customization's.
dual booting with xubuntu-13.04 - a little buggy but works pretty good ( i'm pretty noobish with linux anyways ) boots faster than android.
good luck with your tab and remember to read read and reread the dev threads (make sure you know what your doing before making any changes to your tab). also look into nvflash before you do anything.
It finally got here, and has a light scratch on the screen and on the back... Oh well hope it runs good
