Asphalt 7 - How do I turn off auto-acceleration? - Xperia Play Themes and Apps

As the title says, I'm wondering if there's any way to turn off the auto acceleration when using the Xperia Play buttons. No matter what control scheme I have applied, my car is accelerating without any user input.
It should be possible, because I checked the info screen and it says you can use X to accelerate.
(P.S. If this is in the wrong forum section, go ahead and shout at me.)

Why'd you want that?

I guess it's a matter of preference. Some people might want it and some won't. As for me, I like to hold the X or right shoulder button to accelerate, auto-acceleration just feels so weird when playing.
I remember playing this when I just got the game and I tried to hold R to accelerate, but that just stopped my car, so I tried L and I thought it was accelerate, but I realized I was just wasting my boost.

I don't think there is a way to turn it off actually. X to accel was on Asphalt 6, but Fast Five had no way to turn it off, and A7 is based off of the upgraded engine in Fast Five. Honestly it was a hugely welcome addition as I used to get hand cramps from holding down X the whole time. There really is no reason to not be accelerating all the time in that game.

This is why the fast 5 sucked cause of auto acceleration. I don't get how people like to play a racing game without getting half of the feeling of the game. I was really disappointed with A7. I feel like I'm watching a game play video on YouTube thank god the steering is not auto yet.

The problem is this is an arcade racing game, not only that there is 0 reason to let go of the accelerator at any point, so whats the difference? If I wanted real feel I'd fire up GT5 on my PS3. Or on a phone NFS Shift or Real Racing 2. In this case I'd prefer to avoid the hand cramp and wear on the phone from having to hold down X all the time.

just fyi lol I didn't even know it was on lol been playing it most of the day and been holding x in

Doybule tap the screen is for closgin the map
Also, we all know that HOLDING the screen looks behind you, but is there a better way for us to do this? Cause
A. It's akward
B. what's the point in having contols built into our phone if we have to touch the screen to get basic controls sorted
Totally agree.
Should be like PS2/PSP.
You can also change weapons with the left touchpad.
Anyone figured out how to shot from inside the car?

I don't mind using the touch screen for certain tasks, but the control layout is awkward (it's never been a good point of Rockstar's, check GTA 2 for PSX and you'll be in for a surprise.
Pressing down on the keypad while in a car will sound the horn. Right touch pad can be used to switch weapons. What does up do?

I think they gonna fix everything when they officialy support Xperia Play, I am sure that it's going to happen becouse the controls are already working for it.
But right now it looks like game wasn't graphicly optimised for it at all, if you look at graphics, the randering is wrong and looks ugly, you can see pixels, there's random lag spikes, no shadows, there are no lights on vehicles, and drew distance is wrong, there's lag from raining, there are very small amout of cars in the streets.
Xperia Play can handle it I am sure, they just need to optimise it first.
So lets get on Rockstars nervs And when they are on it once they just can just give us GTA Chinatown Wars to (lets dream)

How did you fair with the mission with the sniper rifle. It seems that I have had trouble using the analogs. I have to rub the analogs a hundred times to aim at someone, as opposed to press left rotate left.
Ill see if I can assign the buttons for other controls, be patient
what would be good if u cam map the buttons like the same as PS2

There's a one of the last missions in Portland and it's called "Bomb Da Base part I and II" first part is from Salvatore and second from 8-ball.
By the way I was aiming with the sniper rifle using original touch controls because the arrows were too sensitive. I passed the mission without any problems.

Sonic 4 Episode I arrives on market!

Hey so I just seen on this market pretty bad compatibility for a lot of devices it seems, the data download is choppy and the audio is reportedly out of sync for SOME devices other devices just find the game to laggy.
Having tried it myself i find it very choppy Xperia Play controls work fine for me, although other users are reporting problems, this could be down to bad downloads/ custom roms.
Not to mention it's like over a year late, guess its in preparation for episode II

You are better off buying sonic CD, its much longer and its much more fun. Sonic 4 just plain sucks.
It's working smoothly for me with xperia play controls... Stock rom with root and some system apps uninstalled, and supercharged and i have chainfire installed....
Edit-Played through first level with only one lag spike which didn't really affect me since it was so small... Touchpaxz do not work but the d-pad does and I can't see why you would want the Touchpaxz to work so I'd say buy the game... No idea what's wrong with your version... Maybe try deleting and re downloading the sd data....

Working fine for me too, Sonic CD runs better but I guess if I change my v6 settings it will run a little better.
PS. I played through first level with next to no lag, a slight bit of slow down in places but bearly noticeable.

Blocked from the market for me. It's saying incompatible with my device.
EDIT: Went ahead and *forced* it anyway... and now I'm wondering why in the hell they blocked Xperia PLAY users from seeing this. It's working perfectly with Xperia PLAY's physical gamepad and I can't quite complain about the performance either.

While Sonic CD was a much bigger deal, this is kind of a big deal for me too... you guys don't know how much I bugged Sega about putting this on PSP (while most games just suck on touch-screens, platformers got the shorter end of the stick by far) and this kinda makes up for it.

Can confirm that it works fine on the Play controls.
I just bought Sonic 4 on my old Droid x and then tried the apk on my Xperia PLAY and I can tell you right now that the controls most certanly work. The menus are all touch but the game itsef supports the controls, not the touchpads but the directional pad works great.
I've been playing it a bit now, and must admit I did find a few bits of lag going on :-( but all the controls work find, and tilting on certain bits is loads of fun!!
I'm not overclocking so maybe if I pop SetCPU up to 1.4 or 1.6 it may stop the lag.

That is interesting... that means Sega was actively working on making this compatible with the Xperia PLAY this whole time.
...that brings me back to why the hell they'd make this any less than fully available day 1. It's not like they couldn't expect us to figure them out.

OnLive Users, please share your experience on the PLAY.

I recently found OnLive, a cloud based gaming app that is on multiple platforms, including android. At the moment, they have titles such as Assasins Creed II and Brotherhood, SplinterCell Conviction, Homefront, and many others. Their volume isnt as big as Valve's Steam, but it has been recognized by the Steam community.
Some basic pros:
-No need to download your games, their on the cloud.
-Their game selection is expanding.
-You can play a demo before you buy.
-No fee for having an account, but there is one for a membership.
-Analogs are compatible on the PLAY.
Some cons:
-You cant play offline.
-You have too keep up with your bills to play.
-No mods in games.
-Less variety of games compared to steam (which doesnt support android).
-Games are about retail price moat of the time.
- A lot of data is used streaming your game.
when i last used used it, it was very slow and lagging all the time on my wifi broadband (30Mb)
I've no problems with it. I've only 2,5 meg broadband. Sometimes it's pixelised a little but work like a charm.

What? OnLive is out for like 6 months, XDA members went over it. Yes, it's as good as it was before.

It work's great for me. I only do the demos because the majority of the games I own on Xbox and I can't afford to pay twice for a game. I use it for a cool factor to show console games on a phone that no one has heard of at the parties I throw.

I love using onlive, one because its all cloud gaming...so I can play most of my games on my pc and then if I'm going somewhere and it has wifi (I rarely use my data *only 2 gb.a month*) then I can continue where I left off....or if I'm planning iny from.my pc to my laptop.
The only thing I dislike about the Play and onlive is the lack of L3 and R3 physical buttons OR touch screen buttons, and for most of my games, like Dues ex and AvP, it gets hard to play....but the play is Awesome for.Assassins creed games, (I've got 2 and brotherhood) and orcs must die....I think the only mistake I've made is buying dawn of war 2 when i first found onlive 3 months ago...
But the advantage is that you can always find other players for multiplayer games ( Homefront ftw, even though I don't have it, I'm.waiting for somekind of sale where it will be at or below $10....which is when I have bought my games lol)

It drove me to buy the OnLive console(which kicks ass), but on Xperia Play I'd always thought it suffered from input lag.
Recently upgraded our router to something newer/more oriented towards gaming and now the input lag is drastically decreased; it's actually quite practical now! What I also like is that I don't always have to be confined to WiFi. In places where I have a good HSPA+ connection, I can play without being bound to a router! It's no replacement for having games that can be played without an active internet connection, but being able to play full-blown Assassin's Creed games and the REAL Street Fighter IV:AE make this quite a winner for me.
My one persisting qualm is the L2/L3/R2/R3. There is absolutely no L3/R3 whatsoever, and L2/R2 takes over the volume buttons. What they really need to do is just have L2/L3/R2/R3 as virtual touch buttons near the bottom of the screen.
If you get it, check out a lesser-known game called A.R.E.S.: Extinction Agenda. Amazing game!

Yeah, I agree with you on the R and L 3 buttons. I wish for some games though that we had the ability to flip the l2 l, r2, and the l1and r1 buttons/triggers around.....I sent onlive an email about that at the end of march and they said they would look into it.

Works great for me.
BUT:
- A lot of games are too dark.
- A lot of games are unsuitable for the Play's buttons. ie. they need more.
- A lot of games don't suit a small screen. For example, the ball in Virtua Tennis is tiny & moves too fast for small, handheld gaming.
The controls suck basically, mainly because of the lack of l2, r2, l3, r3. The touchpads are also quite crap for these games :/

from the preview I saw, it definitely beats gamelofts 2.5d ds-ish port. Yes, I bought a console hit for my former DS, and regretted it again after getting CoD4, so horrible.
So the general theme is thatyou have to have fairly good Wi-Fi to enjoy w/o lag. Also, is it true that OnLive's servers go down from time to time, I've heard things like this on other forums and want to confirm whether or not it is common. I want to try i .t, but I want to know that it is convenient before I attach my identity to anything else and forget.

I've only ever disconnected from onlive when my internet has effed up....you have to have a marginally good wifi to have it look good, but onlive normally tells you first if you have connection issues. And you can.use aCC or DC to buy a game and then delete the card off your account, so nothing is permanent.

OnLive : input lag
Persistent Input Lag
*my internet speed is 105mpbs/10mpbs
*have tried 3 wireless N routers (no channels overlapping)
-playing Street Fighter is grueling
-playing Batman is ok.
=I really wish it worked without the lag.
{EDIT} as a top edit I'd like to remind people that your connection no matter how fast will still create input lag in your games. That's a server issue cause by how the data / input is sent and received. If you want more info on it, check into NVIDIA and GAI KAI. Gai Kai has better visuals but the frame rate for some reason takes a dive...
{/EDIT}
I've used the system since August, and I'm a happy customer!
At first the visuals were very muddy looking (arkham city looked really bad) but after the following update the devs must have changed something because the colors are more vibrant.
The control lag is passable, even when playing some pretty intense games. I have split second on there (and the play pack) and I've gotten numerous 1st place trophies once I got used to the latency. It's not bad at all it's just not perfect because it's not 1:1 (it's really close though).
When I got it in august of last year I thought to myself "boy I wish this had xperia play support" and what to my surprise not a week later I didn't have to use the game keyboard lol
Here's my pros and cons in a TLR
PRO's
-you're playing PC-quality games on your phone
-full Xperia Play optimized (even the volume buttons count as the shoulder buttons though it is a little awkward)
-hundreds of games to choose from and recent ones
-the price point of some games is astounding. I got a few games for only $2 you just need to look at sales frequently.
-graphics have improved dramatically since I've used the service
-the lag in controls is passable (more in CON's)
-you can view other people playing the game and there's a FREE 30 min trial with almost every game
-did I mention it's PC games on your phone?
CON's
-you can't play any 2k games on the phone right now (no bioshock, borderlands)
-the lag in FPS's is tough. Even games like splinter cell where you have to aim your gun in a tight spot it's tricky. Possible but it's a pain when it's not 1:1. I couldn't even play FEAR 2 or 3 it was death up the butt
-battery drain LOL
right there's really not many bad things about it. However the release date for the games varies though Batman: AC came out pretty soon after it's actual release.
Also Wifi and LTE are preferred and I didn't put it as a con because for me I can play on 3G as well. It's fast enough in my area, I'd use speed test to see if it is fast in your area. If you're speed test can consistently hold around 150+ KBps then you're golden.
Borderlands is on onlive lol...
The assassin's creed games are perfect for the play. Only con I have is lack of l3 and r3 buttons, even on the screen would be fine.

Mame/Neo/Cps Emulators are great but where is the challange. I like and brought these official ports (metal slug too) for 2 reasons. 1) Bluetooth multiplayer 2) a limit on credits. Where is the challange if you can keep shoving fake credits in, it makes these games too easy because you have no real death. Its like cheating and there is no point in that when you are only cheating yourself out of a good game. With metal slug on Emulator i completed in a hour (fun over). On the official port not even half way in and been playing hours worth. At least with emulators like Snes and PSX you have limits as its built in to the game (Saves states are also bad but still mean you have to get past the place your stuck on dying). I am happy to recommend these ports over the emulated way
Original MVS cartridge are 'free play' at will anyway, but you are right about arcade, nothing can beat the 1coin challenge and bt coop option is the best.
My previous bought of metal slug for android was a disapointment, few option, gallery mode, slowness this one seems better optimized. I think save state is a bless to train yourself in the hardest level without crawling again the whole intro + much more freedom to simply save your progress.
My fingers thank autofire as well. I found vsFighters a bit more difficult compare to the arcade because of the controller, xplay paddle is tiny and snk special moves can be tricky.

I just hope they won't screw things up with IAP's like they did with 4 and (to some degree) 3.
Since it's going to be F2P, I'll definitely at leas try it out, though.
RELEASED! Check it out!
IAP...IAP f**king everywhere.

You don't have to wait for an update, when I first got Zenonia 5 on my Samsung galaxy s2, I had accidentally solved the problem. When I opened Zenonia 5, yes I had the black screen but I accidentally hit the power button which put it to sleep after the gamevil logo tone. I then turned my phone on again from the sleep and it worked. Hope that helps.
The fact that it requests root permission is quite weird. At first i accidently granted it but now I always deny. But now the game doesn't work anymore for some reason. It used to work perfect even when denying SU but now it just stopped working. I also wrote gamevil about that problem and they haven't replied yet.

Yes. My phone is rooted.. and using wanamlite rom JB....
When you get the SU notification just press NO. The game will still play but this one has no Xperia Play controls unlike the last versions so whats the point? Many better RPG's out there that do support XP.

Yeah, I'm gonna have to agree with this.
Zenonia's way overrated IMO. I think it's a repeat of Golden Sun... something that was just in the right place at the right time during an RPG drought. Storylines, cutscenes, audio clips and all have been incredibly generic throughout the series, Zenonia never has felt like a balanced game... and honestly, Heroes Lore III (on iPhone) was lightyears ahead of it on every level.
You guys should try out Exitium. Also not XP Optimized, but add in a dash of GameKeyboard and you've got some incredibly high quality gaming right there.
How do you repair
So, how do you repair armor in the game, I've been traveling the whole time without any means of repair. Anyone know how?

Click the item that needs repair on your inventory, and on the bottom, where it shows the items stats, there will be an orange repair icon, click it and pay the gold.
I'm not installing any game that requests for root permission. Using root to tackle piracy is a nonsensical excuse.
I have the first 4. And I am a Kemco fan all the way. Much better rpgs then zenonia imo.

I have never tried this game, would you be willing to share your gamekeyboard config file? Not asking about sharing the game only the gamekeyboard config file..
