Unable to connect to linksys router - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

For the life of me I can not get my Samsung Galaxy S3 to pull data through my linksys router. It shows connection, however, when I try to go out on the web I get an error that the webpage is not available. Anyone else have this issue and been able to fix the problem. Any other wireless network I pull data with ease.

Connecting to Wifi- Warning Message: Touch Pro

I've seen other people with this problem and now I'm experiencing it without knowing how to fix it.
My Sprint Touch Pro is old, as I have the tp2 now, but I would still like it to connect to the wifi and do stuff with it. When i try to connect to the network, I get a warning message saying:
Cannot connect to the network. Check your network and service provider settings and try again.

On the advanced tab under Wireless LAN, the status of the connection is: Associated to network. And there is no IP. I cannot renew IP.
It just simply won't connect. I have even tried a hard reset, to no avail.
Netgear router, wpa-psk tkip. And yes, i've tired making it an open network with no data encryption.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

hotspot ip address.

does anybody know the ip address for the hotspot? i tried a few of the common ones but i cant get anywhere. hoping to find some advanced settings for wifi. any help is much appreciated.

Connect your PC, then do an "ipconfig" from a cmd shell (assuming Windows). That will tell you both the address assigned to your PC and to the phone (the default gateway).
The webpage at http://192.168.1.1/ might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address.
this is the error message i get every time. could it be locked? or is nothing there?
i want to extend the network to my wireless router connected in my house. it will give me access to my printer and my hdd because they are connected to my wireless router. cant figure out how to do it.
The advanced settings are configured through the phone itself, I don't think it has a web interface.
You also won't be able to link it to your home wireless. Those home devices would need to connect to your hotspot wireless.

You would need to use a custom firmware like DD-WRT or Tomato on your home wireless router to do what you want. You would have your home router link to the TB and then everything else to the router. This would also make the rest of your devices connect to the internet through the TB. Probably also not supported or liked by VZW but you can technically do it.

[Q] WiFi issues.. somtimes??

Hello, i have been having a curious issue with my WiFi. My Galaxy tab seems to have issues connecting to my work router. it will see it.. and sometimes try to connect but usually doesn't. The router is a Link Sys BEFW11S4. If i unplug the router and plug it back in, then the Tab will connect. Also a more recent issue is at my home ( i have Verizon FIOS w/ wireless router) i can connect fine and internet works, but when i use my Facebook app, it says no connection. A lot of the time i tether my Tab to my phone ( HTC EVO 4G) and everything always works fine.
I have read about issues with GT7 and certain routers. has anyone experienced anything like this? It sees the routers, just sometimes cannot connect to them.
I have tried removing the router and re adding it...changing the IP address..and wireless channels. Unplugging the router and pluggin back in always seems to work, at least temporarily.
Any suggestions?? Thanks!

[Q] Tab 2 7.0 WiFi Blockage?

WiFi connection reported in settings with office wifi network - says "Connected", shows 4 bars, but no data passes - no internet data, no Speedtest.net connection, Talkatone can't connect to its servers - this on same network that my Galaxy Note, and my iPad 3 connect without difficulty.
My Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 connects to my wifi home network fine, and works fine when tethered to my Galaxy Note.
I am baffled by why it says connected but no data will pass - maybe a firewall issue, but why do Note and iPad have no trouble?
I can connect to a different wifi network in our building, and data passes normally.
Any thoughts/comments/remedies?
Thanks!
This is probably not going to help much, but I had the same problem trying to tether to my phone. My solution was to install an app on the phone that configured hotspot in an infrastructure mode.
In your case, maybe your IT person can offer assistance?
Does the wireless network you're connected to have MAC filtering? I've had that happen before where the device will say it is connected and have an IP, but can't do anything because the MAC address isn't in the allowed list.

The IT assistant found that his Android phone also wouldn't pass data. I will pass along this info, maybe the chief IT guy can sort this out.
Thanks!

WIFI connections issues on connection and speed

Hi. Recentlly I bought a Samsung S7(G930A - AT&T version) as refurbished one. I found a big issue what hurts me a lot. Here are some issues with wifi:
I could not really connect to a lot of WIFI networks, it says "connecting" after that it drops and cycle begins once again infinitly.
On several networks it shows "authentication error occured" , although wifi is public and another devices connects to than one.
On several networks, it connects but connection is very slow(0).. only way to make a better connection, is to put phone on router...awful...
On one networks which i tried, it worked ok..it's an 5ghz wifi. although, not for a long distance from router.
I installed all updates, tried troubleshots from internet with bluetooth, reset and everything..but no success at all... Now I think that problem is really in hardware... Had anyone such issues ? Any solutions to fix ?
Please help...

I had frequent wifi connection authentication errors when connecting with my home wifi and slow Internet loading speeds with my Galaxy tablet, but all my other wifi devices connect consistently without errors.
The steps below solved a similar problem with my Samsung Galxy Note 10.1, and it might help with your Galaxy 7. Some of the steps may vary with your device, but the goal is to set wifi Poxy Settings to NONE, and IP Settings to DHCP. It completely resolved my home wifi authentication error and slow spped when browsing.
For the Galaxy Note 10.1: Settings> WiFi> long press the SSID/router name(the wifi you want to connect to)> Modify Network Config> check the box "Show Advanced Options">set proxy settings to "None" -- set IP settings to "DHCP"> Save.
Now my wifi connection with the Galaxy note 10.1 are quick, consistent, and Internet pages load fast.
I hope this is helpful.
