ARMv7? - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

Is the Galaxy S III ARMv7? And what does ARMv7 or ARMv6 or whatever mean? I was wondering because I was looking at the Google Now thread.

Yes, it is. Check out this table: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snapdragon_(system_on_chip)#Snapdragon_S4
Do a Ctrl+F for "SIII" and you'll see the LTE model listed in there (MSM8960). You'll see ARMv7 under CPU instruction set.

That would actually be pretty cool, although I don't think it would be possible due to the fact that WebOS isn't designed to run on the Tegra 2 Platform. Then again, I might be wrong.

Exactly... the fact that it is open source does not mean squat... you have to have drivers to link the hardware to the software... and even if nvidia releases all the source code for the tegra2 drivers this will not matter as it is coded for android...
fundamentally it is possible to do, the only problem is one would have to code the drivers and everything related to them from the ground up with having very little clue where to start... a next to impossible feat...

No, I think it's running a dual core snapdragon. Same that's found in the HTC Flyer.

Nope, it uses a Snapdragon processor.

Bought xoom instead of xoom2

Did I make the right choice??? Refurbished from wal mart.
I figured I could get a kernel to get me were xoom2 is at.
Hope I get some positive feedback

If you want to mod, you've got the right device. You have several good choices for custom roms/kernels. You can root and install ClockWorkMod recovery made especially for the Xoom (I use solarnz's R4c, v. 3.2.0.0) and either stick with Team Tiamat Moray rom/Odachi kernel or the 4G LTE version if that's what you have, or if you're adventurous, you could flash the latest Team Eos ICS (Android 4) rom. Check out this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1249798 for getting root and look in the Development section for the ICS nightlies.
Is xoom1 the same processor? I wasn't sure if buying the xoom2 was worth it.

Xoom 2 isn't worth it. Same processor (I believe) with a 200MHz overclock.
*edit*
Actually just found out its an OMAP 4430. Not sure how it compares to the tegra2.
*edit2*
Bah, another website says its a tegra2. So i don't know.

I do think it's OMAP, but not rootable/moddable at this time, so, blah.
luckily I decided for the Xoom then
I also was deciding on getting the Xoom 2
thx for clearing things up

Just for your information...
Xoom:
CPU: NVIDIA Tegra 2 T20 Dual Core @ 1 GHz
GPU: NVIDIA AP (a.k.a. tegra 2)
Xoom 2:
CPU: TI OMAP4430 @ 1.2 GHz
GPU: PowerVR SGX 540
Info:

http://developer.motorola.com/products/xoom-2-mz615/
I think it's best sticky with Xoom 1 instead of the Xoom 2.

[Q] The nexus 7, tf300t, and jelly bean.

Does anybody think that with the nexus 7 having similar hardware to the tf300t, we might start seeing more custom roms?
If that's not the case, at least Asus delivers updates on time (no major customization of the UI), and we can unlock the bootloader with the tool provided by them.
It's way better than the strategy used by Motorola (I also have a Defy, great device with a strong community formed around it, but crippled by the official support).
Trimis de pe ASUS Transformer Pad TF300T
I think they use the same tegra 3 (T30L)

No one knows. Anyone that answers otherwise is just speculating.
theoretically, it should be a reasonably trivial effort to port a Nexus 7 system dump to the TF201/300T. I'd give it a go myself if I didn't have a broken arm at the moment.

Well those specs do claim it uses the T30L. And the transformer 300 does use the T30L
Is the transformer clocked to 1.2GHz or 1.3GHz? Is the nexus 7 clocked higher?

I'd do it too if i knew what i was doing. Looks like were both in trouble. :silly:
Hope both have the dame versiĆ³n of tegra 3 and release Jb for tf300
Enviado desde mi iPad con Tapatalk HD
specs on both tabs are equal apart from memory and screen size obv.
Shame as its half the cost of TF300 and even though its got half the screen size I should have waited! ha ha
It should not take too long to port a N Tab ROM over to our tab, someone on here has already got a JB ROM for the Acer Aconia Tab A500!

i'm almost sure that asus will update our tf300

Based on initial tests, the N7 stock rom does not have full usb driver support or sd card. No camera either, so would be either a lot of missed function, or a seriously patched N7 rom and this assumes you never use the dock.
Looks like the TF300 needs its rom and perhaps the key additions from JB patched to it.
Or wait for a JB release, which possibly will happen after the cardless and OTG gimped N7 settles in consumers hands for a few months.
Heh. I'd just like to see even a half-working port just to play around with. All the rest of the gear will come with CM10 anyway

ROM's from galaxy tab 10.1 on tab 2 10.1 possible?

Hello, is there a possibility to flash ROM's from galaxy tab 10.1 on galaxy tab 2 10.1?
As i think it is difficult to do so as the hardware difference between the two is big the tab2 use omap processor and gpu and tab1 use nvidia processor and gpu

Horn for GN10.1?

Hey all. Like many others, I was excited about todays release of Horn by Phosphor on the Play Market.
After some research, I found out it was only for Tegra 2 and 3s...? But on the Play Store website, it says it is compatible with the Galaxy Note 10.1.
Has anyone purchased it? Does it work?
I've got the horn for a sgn 10.1, just waiting for retail stock at John Lewis...(2 year warranty)..to indulge

Just try it. It shouldn't take 15 minutes to work out whether it works or not. If it doesn't, get the refund.
If for some reason you don't want to try it, I'll give it a go and let you know.

Ok. It can't be found in the store on the Tablet, so I went to the store on the web. That shows that the game is not compatible with the N8000
Hopefully they will sort that out soon.

Considering I managed to get Dark Meadow to work on the Galaxy Note 10.1,, I am somewhat convinced this may be able to work as well. Really not into coughing up $7 to try though... >.>
oh, why not -.-
I'm gonna be a test dummy! Downloading it right now.
no it doesn't work. I bought it for my N7 and installed it on the note 10.1 also. It will not work on the note.
Yep, just tried it with Chainfire 3D in various settings. it simply exits out. Fortunately was able to get a refund. Oh well. Too bad. Looks interesting. Too bad I don't know the first thing about hacking up the apk file to make it work in the same way Dark Meadow does. But yeah, Dark Meadow from the market crashes just the same way this does, but the fixed apk works. Meh.
Thanks y'all. Weak it doesn't work. Stupid nvidia.
just go to playstore on web, older THD games are all compatible
Hii guys i have a tablet with mali 400 and support on market... Should i buy it??
