I have a Verizon GSIII and get two different notification tones when I turn on my phone. One is the 4G LTE sound followed by the echoing Verizon tone. If I recall correctly, I used too only get one tone but cannot be certain.
Can someone reboot their device and let me know?
Both is normal.

I check setting and there was nothing in it :/ I'm running absolution 3.7 and Idk its just annoying anyway I can. Get it to stop?

That may be a notification. I think by design, while your on a call, notifications go to vibrate mode to avoid blowing your ear out with the tone I have had this happen to me in the past and wondered what it was, then figured it out when I realized I had new email after the call. It seems strange though, because I always thought data was off during a call.
No its both a notification and just a dual vibration :/ it just is annoying hearing it go off even on silent it does it -.-

Just noticed in another thread that CM7 has a setting for vibrate on outgoing calls. Is it possible that could be in your ROM somewhere? Just a guess.
I have everything unchecked and its vibration seems to happen whenever the screen turns back on during a phone call like ill lock the phone but randomly the screen "rotates" and comes back on and the it vibrates :/... I'm thinking of just reflashing the rom because I don't even have a ringtone for when people call :/ blah

Anyone else having a problem with their sounds after "un-muting" the phone? Example being I mute the phone at night or for a meeting, then when I turn the volume back up I notice my sounds for texts, fb, emails, etc do not work anymore, and I have to go back and manually reset them. The phone ringer does still work though. Just curious if it's something I am doing wrong or have overlooked. Not rooted or unlocked. Yet.
My phone does the same thing with the sounds. Except ive never muted my phone and im unlocked and rooted

The only thing I've noticed about sound is that ringtones and notifications go thru the head phones or bluetooth device when one is connected, instead of the back speaker.
Further Observations
Last night I tried turning the volume down to the lowest setting, but that was no good either. Today I have received a handfull of emails with no sound at all after I turned the volume back up. I can't verify texts yet as I haven't received any to this point. If it makes a difference or not these are all custom alerts or tones, not "factory" sounds.
Mine r factory tones i still hav the problem. I believe its a software issue the brand new phones have

Moto or ICS?
Hypothesis
After several weeks, I think I may have figured it out somewhat, at least for me. It seems if I have the phone plugged into my computer usb either in mass storage or media mode, and get an alert of some kind (sms, email, etc) it will cause the sounds issue. If I just use the wall charger, I don't seem to get the sounds issue.
For some reason the other end of the line is receiving multiple tones with just one short press. (I press 3, it gets 333) I've tried it with both CM9 and Slim ICS. This pretty much makes my phone unusable since half the numbers I dial have automated systems.:crying::crying::crying:
Any help would be appreciated!!!
I had the same problem until I turned off the touch tones in settings. I think the mic pics them up. But it fixed the problem for me

Does anyone know how to change the default ring behavior under Android 4.1? I can put my phone on silent and it will not ring, but when I attach my headphones, it rings both through the headphones and through the external speaker. I know I can turn the phone on silent mode with the headphones attached, but then it doesn't ring in the headphones either.
I want it to ring through the headphones when they are attached but be silent otherwise. It's embarrassing when I'm on the train and the ringer goes off.
When I was running 4.0.1 it acted as expected, but since upgrading I can't figure out how to get it to work the way I expect it to. Any suggestions?
As far as I can tell it is an issue with 4.1.1 across many AT&T phones. Not just ours. I think the only solution is to put the phone on vibrate so that you can feel when a call comes in. I don't know of any way to change the behavior in the player settings but someone on here just might.

Same with rogers telus etc too. I think 4.1 is the same across all carriers.

I had this issue as well. But the weird part is that notification and SMS comes thru the headphones. I just think it makes it pointless. You say it is 4.1 thing, but it must also be 4.2 as well. I thought it was just the ROM. Guess not

Everytime I end a call my phone makes a notification sound. Any idea what this is for and how do disable it?
Sent from my SM-G900P using Tapatalk
Go into call settings and there is a prompt that allows you to turn it off on

I turned off the end call notification and still get it.

So I've figured out when the noise happens, but can't figure out how to turn it off. It happens everytime I connect too lte.

Is it a sound or vibrate? I see an option for vibrating

It's a sound and its quite annoying.

117 views and no one else has experienced this. I've come to the conclusion that it has something to do with lte, but can't figure out how to disable. I can't be the only one.

Not sure, I've had two S5's now and neither did this.
It's possible some random setting that carried over for most of us etc.
I know the first S5 when it restored my old phone settings the screen timeout was set for 45 seconds for example, well that's not a valid option so it made the menu look funky lol. The second one it didn't do that as I had changed to 30 seconds before exchanging again.
I imagine something similar, some setting carried over to disable the sound and we just dunno which/where.
I did a lot of traveling yesterday and bounced on and off 3G and 4G and no data many times, no sounds.
Maybe it's the roaming guards too glitching? I do disable those too.
Thought I disabled the roaming guard but will check again. It wouldn't bother me as much if it wasn't so damn loud.

I feel like an idiot. It was signal check pro. It never did it on my g2 or my tablet, but for some reason it was on by default on my s5.
