Time for another meaningless question (from me)...
I'm looking for a good audio player. I've been using the stock player, since it's the only one I've been able to use where the EQ actually works (external EQ's haven't worked at all for me for some reason)
So, here are my desires:
Good working EQ
Widget with cover art would be nice
MP3/FLAC/ALAC (not a firm requirement on ALAC) support
I'd prefer cheap, or at least a fully functional trial so I can decide if it's right for me. Most that I've seen that have a "Pro" or paid version have crippled the free version so it's not what I want (Winamp, doubleTwist, Rocket Player come to mind).
Recommendations? I don't mind paying for it, but I want to know what I'm getting into first.
Not using my phone for music but I heard people talking about pandora or something.
Regardless Isn't there some play store thing that after you buy an app you can get refunded 24 or 48 hours after?
Not interested in Pandora. I don't use my phone for internet based music, just music off of my sd card when working out or working in the yard.
try poweramp from the market.. it has all the feature you want as i was looking for something similar. I tried all other ones and didn't like them.
Poweramp is a trial and you can purchase the full version if you like it.. otherwise, you can just clear cache and reuse after 15 days..

Strangely enough, PowerAmp Trial is not available to install according to the Play website. Weird.
PlayerPro looks like it might be a good choice. I may give it a try.

Has anyone gotten a version of amazon mp3 to work on 2.1 roms? I know I know... just download off bit torrent. Sorry, but I only downloaded mp3s back in the day because it was easier than itunes bull****. However amazon mp3 made it even easier than wating for a seed. I don't mind paying for my music as long as its easy. I listen to Pandora in the car/on the go but a few songs I hear on Pandora I'd like to purchase on the go and amazon mp3 just made It so easy.
I tried pulling the apk from my 1.5 Rom but it won't install on damage control.

check out iMusic in the market, even comes with a widget
like limewire on your hero
havent had any issues personally, though bad reports have been given. alot of people got upset when the dev changed the name the imusic neo or some crap, idk, ive used the same .apk since my g1...anyway, the ones who purchased the full version lost it and were angry (understandable)
for the most part they have everything ive looked for, even the "The Work Song", which surprised me
"i got aaaaaalllll (aallll...) the ****in work i need...
i got aaaaaallll (allllllll...) the ****in work i need..."
amazing song :-D
oh, and pirating is bad, you shouldnt do it

I gladly paid Pandora's 36 bucks a YEAR but no internet radio is worth a monthly fee. Christ.
It's not internet radio. You can also download tracks to any mp3 player aside from an ipod pretty much, as well as a PC (no Mac, unless you VM). You're basically renting out music, but it's a much better deal than Lala, etc which don't let you download. Granted, it's in a protected format of course, but you can find ways around that
I'm trying this out for the time being but I'm really excited for Spotify to come out. Sounds like Google wanted the N1 to ship with Spotify built in would have given iTunes a run for it's money. Spotify is supposed to come out in Q3.
Just my opinion no one needs to freak out over it. Although this seems like a great app, I would not pay 10 bucks a month to listen to music....I'd rather donate that 10 bucks to Cyanogen or another dev....Sorry, way to many "free" options out there to pay ten bucks a month, thanks tho!! Again IMO
Why are you waiting for Spotify? I used the service, but maybe I missed something.
Never used Rhapsody but surely it's very similar to Spotify.
I use Spotify for the record, the premium one at £10 a month.
I've never had any issue with software. Very good for syncing across several PCs, my N1 and my iPod Touch. I've got music all over the place and only for £10 a month.
Bargain!
I did ask a question about whether there is an app that can do the same as the PC apps so as to record the streams or normal offline audio to mp3s on Android?
Any suggestions or knowledge on this?
I got this in college when they had a $26 / year deal. Just about $2 / month. Then they stopped contracting with our school but our accounts have been active since. It's been 6 years. Too bad my account is some special crap or wahtever and doesnt work with Rhapsody on the go for mobile devices. =[
But this is nice. This is no Pandora. Want song A? You get Song A. Want another song? Search it. Imagine it's getting the iTunes library at your fingertips, except its all streaming.... very useful.
I've loaded up a whole playlist before and just played it at a couple of housewarming parties. Works well.
I've been using the app all day since it released... While it's a great app in general, the radio function appears broken.
I can't skip more than 2 songs per hour... where the hours are seemingly longer than 60 mins. Something is seriously wrong...

Has anyone tried this music player. As of right now it is still in beta but it works great. On landscape mode the pictures gets distorted but I never use it that way. But check it out. Type in cubed and look for the title "3" by Filipe Abrantes.
Nice find, thanks for sharing. Cube distorts very badly on landscape mode, but no big deal. Easy to find if you search for authors name.
I tried it a couple of months ago. If I remember correctly navigating took some getting used to and wasn't efficient looking for an individual song. Also shuffle didn't work right. May have been fixed by now.
It's definitely cool to look at and impress others with.
I liked mixzing but that $7 price for no ads is just stupid. Using btunes now, $1.49 is a good deal.

so i'm currently on napster... which is a great value at 5 bucks a month, but no mobile app so looking to switch.
rhapsody works great on my phone but they don't have (yet) a bb application so my wife and i can both utilize the subscription, so i'm thinking i need to look elsewhere.
the only one i can find now that works for both bb and dinc would be thumbplay. anyone have experience with this service? is it at least as good as rhapsody?
anyone have other suggestions of services and apps that would work on both the dinc and my wifes storm?
the primary need/want is on-demand streaming (i.e. not just radio... but specific albums, artists, etc.).
thanks!
Try grooveshark, it's only $3 a month or $30 a year.Looks like it works for bb except bb storm.

I use Grooveshark and love it. Their free trial is as easy as it gets. I am, however, curious about Thumbplay Music. After the free trial, what are their monthly rates?
pandora is free
works awsome and is free the more you listen the more you refine the better the station

Last.fm all the way. Has the best music selection by far if your taste is a little off the beaten path. It's also built into the XBox 360 dashboard, which is nice if you have one.

You might want to check out RDIO. They're newer than the other services, but it looks like the breadth of their library is pretty decent.

Rdio IS very nice, but the price tag of $10/mo is too much unless you listen to it all day every day
i used rhapsody, great service, but very sucky Android app.
i used MOG, also a good service, but the app didn't wanna cooperate with 2.2. it would play 2 minutes or so of a song and then skip to the next.
right now i am using Rdio and it's working flawlessly. they are updating the app very frequently which is nice to see.
OP, Why not use Pandora or slacker?

I just started using it (US). It seems pretty cool.
Android and iPhone apps are now up in the respective markets.
I used a proxy and signed up. But dont see the point, since the free account only lets you sync music from your PC. To listen to the streaming service, you need the 10 dollar per month package.

Well here in sweden i'm been using this service for over a year. And it is (by far)the best i've ever used. Sure they don't have every single artist, but there is so many I don't really feel the need for more.
I like it on my but $10 is a bit much for mobile streaming.

After all, $ 10 is too high a price. Available only 15 million songs. You can listen anywhere, anytime and can listen many different devices (mobile, pc etc.) I would rather buy the $ 10 album containing 12 tracks... No. no no .. I should have to think first what to say.
American network operators the pricing and quality is ****ed up. But many believe it is a lesser evil than $ 10 per month.
Spotify will not stay online
Anyone else having trouble on the Transformer? My dell streak will work ok, but the transformer keeps dumping to offline even though wifi is fine and all other apps are staying connected.

Known bug in Spotify on Honeycomb. Solution is easy but harsh: never make playlists offline available.
As long as you stream everything - you're okay. If you make a playlist offline available, it'll sync the first time and after that it'll keep saying it's disconnected.
And it's definitely worth the 10 bucks, I've been paying it for months and months (in Europe) and it saved me a ****load of money or time. If I had to buy all the music I've listened from Spotify, I'd had to sell my TF to pay the bills. Maybe even twice...
If your musictaste is pretty "conservative", not always looking for new stuff and getting addicted to it - it might indeed not be worth the money.
It's totaly worth it to have a paid subscription, i pay for premium
I use spotify all the time (at home, party's, cell phone etc)
The majority of the music i listen to is on spotify and i don't listen to comecial radio music

Deleting my offline content worked. How long has this been a known issue? I hope it is on a priority fix list.
I can have local content offline though without the bug happening.

The android client works like the PC client
I still can't get it work. Every time I choose a song, I get an info bar with no info and an OK box to click. It reads my TF on my network, but it won't stream any music. I had no online playlists (I deleted everything just to make sure).
It works well on my PC--a lot of great music that seems to stream more quickly than Google Music.
