[Q] Unninstalled some system aplications by accident in Android - General Questions and Answers

Hello, i have rooted my Samsung Galaxy Ace (S5830) mainly with the purpose of removing the tons of bloatware my operator so kindly put on my phone.
So yesterday downloaded Titanium backup, and did the backup and removed the following applications:
Code:
- All posts 1.0
- All Share 1.1.0
- Apoio a Cliente 1.0 (Custumer support)
- Google Talk 1.3
- Music Shop 5.0.15
- Social Hub 1.00.10.101
- Thinkfree Office 2.0.110222
The problem with unninstalling this was that a few system applications got unninstalled aswell, and even after recuperating all of the above programs with my backup they appear as uninstalled:
Code:
- com.android.audioTuning
- com.broadcom.bt.app
- com.sec.android.appGpsSetup2
- com.sec.android.app.samsungapps.una
- com.sec.app.OmaCP
- com.wipereceiver
- pl.com.samsung
My questions are as follow:
1) Is any of the files that got unninstalled accidentally important? And if so, how can i recuperate them.
2) How do i know exactly what i am unnisntaling in the future so i dont get any more surprises
Thank you in advance,
dpkPT

if any of your Frnds are using the same mobile with same os . First root that. Mobile and install titanium backup pro From black mart. And backup all the things you unfortunately deleted and send that backup files to your mobile via bluetooth and you also install that titanium backup pro . If you install titanium backup pro a folder will be created and move that files to that folder and install it . To solve this in future backup all the items using titanium backup pro
Sent from my GT-S5360 using xda app-developers app

i had thought of getting those files of some other phone. But the only friend that also has an Ace is a diferent model (s5839i wich uses andrid 2.3.6) than mine ( s5830 android 2.3.5). Will the files be compatible?

anyone?

I wouldn't install system files from a different version. You can hunt around and try to find a factory image for your model and use Odin to flash it. Then, start from scratch. Or, if there are any custom ROM's available for your phone, flash that and you won't have to worry about the system files. Rule of thumb for next time..if you don't know what it is, you probably shouldn't delete it!

In addition to that. One of the beauty things with Titanium Backup Pro is that you can "Freeze" apps to see if there is any detrimental effects by not having the run. If so, then you can "defrost" them. When in doubt, don't uninstall no matter how much you think it is bloat.
I am asking another RC to come in here that owns an Ace and see if he can help you. Could take a little time as he is on the other side of the world from me.

I thought uninstalling bloatware was the same as unninstalling a normal aplication. I didnt unninstall anything i didnt know what it was, it just happened that those processes got unninstaled togheder with the bloatware without me even noticing. It would be nice if titanium backup would tell me all that is being unninstaled, so i dont get another surprise like this. Example: " You are unninstalling Crap Bloatware v2.0. Be warned that along with this the following processes will be unninstalled aswell: com.importantsystemthing, com.sec.blabla. Are you sure you want to continue?"

Couldnt install titanium backup pro yet. Tells me my key is invalid.
Kinda learned my lesson. Leaving the rest of the bloatware in the phone. (Still get annoyed every time i look at it though ) Thanks! No prob with the time, so far i havent noticed any problem in my Ace from the lack of those processes.

Hmm..I have never had issues with TB uninstalling anything that I didn't select. Just out of curiousity...what makes you think it is uninstalled?

1. It doesn't seem like your device is the ace. It must be the i version of the ace. Because i can see the com.broadcom.bt app in it. Broadcom hardware is present only in the 'i' variant.
2. Yes you have deleted some system apps like OmaPC server.
Now all what you can do is
1. Check the label below the battery for the correct version of your device.
2. I guess it will be the ace i. So download a stock firmware from sammobile.com
3. Flash it using odin. There are tons of guides the flashing process.
Just Google it.
Hope this helps. Incase you need more help and i fail to reply to this thread, pm me.

Titanium doesn't usually uninstall any extra apps that you haven't selected...weird that it did so for you
Anyways, if your phone starts acting weird, you could flash a stock rom using odin...
Instructions and everything else needed is available in the Galaxy Ace Sub-forums within xda...

[Guide] Survivng a Data Wipe / Update (Reduces Force Closes, too!)

Alright, this is a guide for everyone who has come to me saying "When I update, XXX.apk force closes" or "I hate doing a wipe every time I update"
What you will need:
Computer
Backup for Root Users
Google Account
SD Card
( Yes, this is written for idiots, )
What to do:
Power on your phone
Sync your google account
Run Backup for root users
Perform a data backup (first option)
Upon completion connect the phone to PC
Mount the sd card and open BackupRoot/data
delete everything related to the system
This is providers folders, htc.android folders, anything that isn't related to an app that you have installed
You should be left with just your program folders
These are things like nl.rogro.GScriptFull, and other INSTALLED programs
Do the update, wipe your phone, ect. (Whatever you had to do)
Run Backup for root users after opening any apps that have a EULA
These are things such as "Welcome, this program does some stuff" that appear when you first start the app and prevent data from being written until they have been accepted in full
Choose Restore Data (the option to the right of the first one you used)
Sync Google account
Congratulations, you have restored.
Now Backup for Root Users is a great app, but many people do not realize that when you back up all of your data, things like calendar and Mms may be different versions. Unlike installed apps that are meant to accept data from different versions of the same app, these programs may carry the same name but may read data differently. Things like calendar do not transport well, but by syncing your account you prevent losing anything because it is all reloaded by the sync.
Note: You will lose settings for Settings and Home Screen. These cannot be prevented and are the MOST COMMON cause of issue because the code for Launcher, Rosie, and the System are CONSTANTLY being changed. It's a small price to pay...
Great Advice!!! Thanks!

Ah, so you're the person behind this great app.
do you happen to have a thread/blog that explains what some of these backups do? I have a bit of a hard time decyphering some of them.
Correct me if i'm wrong regarding your tutorial twistedumbrella.
If the users are running apps2sd, shouldn't they run the second option of the backup "Backup Data2sd"?
As you requested I published an info page on my blog:

Slightly off topic I suppose, but could you [Blackgin] give us an option when using your program (as I do) to automatically backup only the Application Data that Twisted mentions above. That would save us the step of going in and deleting all that other stuff. You could call it "Pre-Wipe Backup" or something.

Easier said than done. You either have to index all apps and backup relative to that list (data is often a different name than the app) or index the system and skip that data (again variable by build). Honestly it would be a little too complicated unless you have set data lists just due to the variable nature of app name to data location.
Here is 1 more addition:
suppose u r gona have a wipe & dont want to do google account sign in again but want it to be automatically signed-in @ the first boot after updating,
Grab the attachment, extract & run bat file
It will backup google account database & will restore database:
Note: Backup When Phone Is running Means not in recovery mode
&
Restore after Updating/Wiping But in Recovery Mode Even restoring as soon as u update will do....

Maybe it isn't so difficult, I'm trying..
EDIT: Done
So if I am on a build using aps2SD, I choose that option right? The first time nothing backed up/restored properly
For me on cyanogen build, it works also the normal apk backup..
I backed up my sms while using Cyanogen 3.4.6, and i just flash JACHero, can I restore those SMS or will I run into some errors?

It depends on what you are using (app2sd or not) and what you want to backup..
If you want to backup data without system one, chose data-sys (or that for app2sd).. If you want a full data backup chose backup data (or that for app2sd)
Backup for root users doesn't work for me.
When I start the application the first time I click on always allow permission.
Then I click on any buttons to save and nothing.
Just a message very fast "Performing Backup..."
On SD there is a directory "BackupRoot" and inside 2 Directories "dataNoSys" and "sd".
any idea?

Captivate FROYO Issues - 10.6.10 - New! File type restrictions in browser

Current issues/bugs so far with the "leaked" froyo for Captivate:
1.Stock internet browser is very laggy, it is confirmed that there is a memory leak not related to Flash
2.GPS still sucks for some
3.Silent mode does not silent notifactions
4.Cannot download attachments in Gmail
5.Cannot delete multiple e-mails
6.Under Exchange e-mail
1.Cannot download attachments
2.Forwarding an e-mail deletes your message and only send original message
3.Cannot scroll through folders, bounces back
4.cannot forward if there is an attachment in the original e-mail
5.The good news, to fix exchange e-mail, follow this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=8453938&postcount=99
6.Note doing the above fix will eliminate the ability to move the e-mail from one folder to nother
7.MMS does not work, cannot receive pictures
8.If you select a contact from a group, it shows a different person, works on gmail and exchange accounts
9.Market does not show protected paid apps, however to fix market apps, follow this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...&postcount=102
10.Contacts do not always import correctly (joins some and not others)
11.Cannot hear a call over the aux port, must use bluetooth or speaker
12.Force Close when changing fonts
13.3G is slower for some?
14. PHONE CAN'T UNLOCK! - That pisses me off! This should be priority number one for the DEVS : )
15. My browser sees to restrict the file types I want too download. I can't download cognition Roms and some other file types to my phone. Anyone else?

Here's one...
Under SETTINGS>SOUND>VOICECALL RINGTONE or NOTIFICATION RINGTONE
If either of those are pressed I get process "com.android.settings has stopped unexpectedly" anyone know how to correct this? Normally I would run fix permissions under clockwork MOD, but that is not working either.

I don't have that issue. Don't tell me you restored things with Titanium Backup...
I think your is an isolated incident. I personally do not have that problem.. Maybe you deleted something by accident?
How did you install Froyo? Did you do a clean flash or did you flash over something else?
I odin 1-clicked back to jh6... then master cleared... formatted SD.. then flashed froyo and I'm not having any problems at all
I don't have that problem either
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897
I also don't have this issue... I was able to set my ringtone with no problem. So far, I've had no issues with this rom at all aside from the minor lag problems here and there, which obviously is a common problem thanks to Twiz...
Didn't restore using TIBU
Hmmm.
I must have deleted something when removing ATT Bloatware..is there a list of the exact APK's for the Bloatware I can bounce off?
FIXED.. Do not delete MEDIAPROVIDER.apk
That was my mistake.
I can set my final ringtone to anything, but individual ringtones are limited to 300kb? Wtf!

i dont thing samsung was bad at spelling prior to froyo... but after. hmm... dont think ive ever seen authorisation, but a quick look in the dictionary and it says it is a true spelling. just not used as much as its alternative "authorization"

I think that spelling will be fixed in future versions. I suspect this is left over from the European SGS 9000 build.

and just fyi its not in the swype collection of words. lol
Is ClockworkMod/Rom Manager even usable under this build of Froyo? I have Rom Manager installed, but if I try to boot into Clockwork Recovery I get errors. I was under the impression that it would have to be updated to work with the Captivate Froyo build since the built in option for Galaxy S Captivate in Rom Manager seems to be specifically for Eclair.
For the record, I'm still learning some of this stuff, but I was running Cognition 2.1.6 with the Voodoo kernel. I flashed back to stock using odin 1 click and then flashed using the Froyo Odin download. Somehow in the process I lost all of my Titanium backup data for my apps, but no biggie. I also followed the steps to root and enable sideloading.
Address book is kind of screwy. I have some pre-defined groups that I set up in GMail contacts via the web. They cam eover to the phone when Google synced, but when I click on a contact I get a different one form the one I clicked. This doesn't happen in contacts moved over to "Phone" and put into those groups.

Clockwork doesn't work on Froyo on our phones yet.
How would we backup the ROM?!
Any alternative options to backing up this ROM with Clockwork now out of commission?

You can flash the Eclair kernel with Odin, go straight from there to recovery mode and reinstall packages (provided the ClockworkMod update.zip is in place) and do a nandroid backup when you get into ClockworkMod. Then go from there back into download mode and flash the Froyo kernel. Yes, that solution is pretty stupid. But that's all I can think of.
Like the previous unreleased firmwares, JI6 suffers from missing market apps issue. The best way to demonstrate this is to search for Fandango in Market. On JH7, the link to the market page shows up, while on JI6, there is a message saying not found. I solved that issue by editing the fingerprint section in the build.prop file and replaced 2.2 with 2.1-update1, FROYO with ECLAIR and JH7 with JF6, so it reads like this:
Code:
# Do not try to parse ro.build.description or .fingerprint
ro.build.description=SGH-I897-user 2.1-update1 ECLAIR UCJH7 release-keys
ro.build.fingerprint=Samsung/SGH-I897/SGH-I897/SGH-I897:2.1-update1/ECLAIR/UCJH7:user/release-keys
I rebooted, and Fandango (as well as other missing apps) show up again. Strangely there are apps marked for Froyo that seem to not have disappeared. Were the Froyo apps always visible with JH7? Am I missing any other apps in the market now because I am pretending to be on an Eclair firmware? The issues of editing the fingerprints before were simply a matter of changing the firmware name. Now by having edited the build version, am I creating any other unforeseen issues?
I get a fc when trying to save a image from browser, anyone else?
The only real issue that I've noticed...and It's not really anything broken...is that when I receive a call and slide the bar to answer, it always hangs when sliding the bar for a second. Like I said, nothing broken, just a little annoying.

Notes:
IMPORTANT: Although all of my scripts check for and handle appropriatly a2sd and other apps2sd utilities it is highly recomended that you move your apps back to the /data/app folder and remove or disable any a2sd utilities prior to flashing this ROM, once flashed you can reset all of your a2sd settings accordingly. It is also recomend that you leave your cache and dalvik cache alone as moving these can cause backup and restore to fail if there is insuffiecient space.
Enjoy, this is fast stable and very clean, I have even included some of my favorite backgrounds which can be found under "Menu - More - Wallpaper". And as always I am the only DEV (To my knowledge) that includes an antivirus app in my ROM and handles backups and restores of all user level apps (/data/app and /data/app-private) during the flash sequence. No matter what style or flavor of rom you currently have there is no need to wipe, my updater-script handles everything for you. I do still recomend a full nand backup first just for safety sake.
Thanks:
evanbigfan - for pointing out a flaw in my scripts
J074 - for all the testing (and the humor) LOL
existz - for the kernel
google - for android
cyanogenmod - for the stable base
and all of the devs that provided help with the backup and restore issues.

Nice. Really good rom. Thanks.
Thanks for your work...I tried it, but had to nand back. I followed instructions & everything went great until I tried to use Titantium Backup to add back a few apps it failed to install ...then it started restarting.
The apps were fancy Widgets & pro Widgets.
Gonna reflash when I stop for the night.
Thanks for all you do though....I'm still a rookie this.

without restoring the apps from titanium backup did all your other apps work as expected? when you are restoring your apps from TB are you choosing data as well? if your previous ROM was a sense rom this could be the cause of the problem. try restoring without data and then setup the apps again from scratch. let me know if that helps.
Looking good.

Previous rom was Ninja (aosp) .
It auto installed all but 6 previously installed apps...I tried twice today.
I think my problem lies with a auto update of superuser. It auto updated twice...I skipped all setup accounts until dead last in case something was triggering it...no dice, it still did it. Tried clearing data on superuser, but it was greyed-out because there wasn't any data as of yet.
Also, I always restore apps...never data.
I dunno what I'm doing wrong...never had an issue like this.
Maybe superuser updating?
Edit: forgot to mention that on the second time round....I also tried to use the market to re-install my missing apps...and the same thing happened (phone restarts)
I'm gonna try it again and reinstall nothing & I'll report back

AHA!! A brand-new ROM - lots of questions!!
As a confirmed "flash-junkie" on my older Aria, I now have a 2-month old Inspire, and have already tried SO MANY ROMS I have lost count I really need to stop having it "out of commission" all the time because I'm trying something new!!! So -- I am looking for a Gingerbread ROM - definitely "no-sense" or very minimal Sense! (I use 3rd party apps for almost everything that Sense does and it takes so much space and time to load and run it all, or to delete so much every time I update a Sense ROM...
I have tons!!! of apps, and have been using CM7 nightlies - hoping for just the "right one" but I have not been completely satisfied for one reason or another... (Wi-Fi, GPS, ADW launcher so slow, lack of A2sd/EXT4 support, etc...)
What I want: I want to keep my most-used apps "internal" to load faster, and most of my "other" stuff, such as games, "testing" apps, reference library apps, etc. on a separate partition. I would prefer S2E/Link2SD type EXT-4 for the speed and "wipability..." I have used the S2E app, but don't like to move everything, I have tried Link2SD without much success, so I have been pretty much using standard A2SD, which is a pain...
So... what options does your ROM have for something like that? And... what setup do you recommend prior to flashing?? (i.e. pre-set EXT4 secondary partition?)
And... Is data/GPS/Wi-Fi etc. pretty stable without all the "fixes" to apply each update? I'm getting tired of editing build.prop, gps.conf, kernel flashing, etc. on this phone - I'd like to leave all that to my old phone and have my Inspire nice and set for pretty much my daily user -- if an OCD flash junkie can actually do that, anyhow - he he he
OK - I realize this was a very long post, but if you don't think your new ROM is my best choice, I'm open to other ideas from anyone!!!
Thanks!

I'm trying to remember what ver of SU is in the ROM i think it should be 3.0.2 (it was current as of the time i built the rom) I'm not convinced that that could be the issue. I dont use titanium backup as i just start from scratch, i dont much care about data just the apps so i havent tested anything with titanium backup. I'm curious what 6 apps don't install? is it the same 6 everytime? anything special about them? was your previous ROM an EXT3 or EXT4 ROM? are you using any apps2sd utils or have your sdcard partitioned? again thats one i don't use so havent tested for. (sorry if i tested for every possible scenario I'd never get anything done).
I'll try TB tonight and see what happens.

Well I'm probably the worst Flash junkie around I frequently run with broken ROMS just trying to test and build. since I only have one phone that becomes a real pain at times.
so to try to answer your questions. I don't use any apps2sd utils nor do i partion my sdcard nor move any apps to the sdcard and with this rom having on average around 400mb free I havent had much of a need to do so. that being said it does support extended partitions on the sdcard (up to 512mb) you can use any of the third party apps2sd utils just fine as well.
Data/GPS/WiFi including WiFi hotspot and tethering all work flawlessly in my opinion. stability has always been one of my biggest concerns that's why I started building ROMs so I could be the one in control of any stability issues that arose. there should be absolutly no need to edit the build.prop for anything that I'm aware of it is tweaked to provide the best results for the ROM.
Recomendations for prior to flashing. NAND NAND NAND Backups are your friend...
My updater-script is unique in that I am to my knowledge the only one who handles app backups and restores as well as cleanup and wiping through the script so in all reality you can download my ROM make a backup of your current ROM and then Flash mine with no concern of what style of ROM you came from.
I hope that helps answer some of your questions. in regards to whether or not i think this is the right one for you? that is a determination that only you can make. personally this has been my daily driver for nearly a week without issues and im not one for AOSP roms per say..
anyone having this problem?
when i try to install apps i have purchased, i try to install them after i downloaded them but when it trys to install my phone fast reboots, ig u could say lol, is this happening to anyone else.. cause i cant install any apps on my phone
Tried again ....this time I did not try to reinstall any apps via TIB...used market. Data shut off and phone rebooted with ANY app from the market.
It would download BUT then reboot before it finished installing.
Even tried apps at random...lol
Just to be sure it wasn't particular apps.
Tried clearing market data and also reformatted SD card ext4.
Lead me in the right direction if you can ...I'd really like to get this one running. I'm sure you put alot of time in on it & I think its gonna be a good one.

i have yyet to have any issues installing apps from the market yet others have had reboot issues when trying to restore from titanium backup. im not sure why this happens.
what rom did you come from? was it ext3 or ext4? sense or AOSP? and what apps are you trying to install, directly from market or from apk's downloaded to your sdcard? if previously downloaded can you adb them to your data/app folder?
both, and a miui rom the the one previous to the latest

No reboots no fc's so I'm stumped as to what is happening. Ill continue to look into this

As you can see, it was not installed properly
Not to be whatever, but if the app isn't compatible with tablets, then it shouldn't work for the Fire until it is.. Are you trying to download on Amazon App Store or Market? Because if they put it in the Amazon app store then that would be VERY stupid on their part..
I read that the whatsapp application does work on KF.... if someone has the steps to install this correctly, do share. I used a friend's Android phone to upload the apk to Dropbox and tried to install it from there.
I tried using Ti Backup, but when restoring whatsapp on the kindle, the process either hangs or give me the error that the app is not installed. Any help will be greatly appreciated!
I got it working. but I had to locate an older version to install. I think the newer version of whatsapp does some check and thus prevent installation on the kindle.

can you please share the apk?
i have installed it in my fire
but the following msg was shown when i try to use it..
I hope its ok to upload here, do inform me if i am breaking any rules.
Note that I am using the original kindle OS and not a rom like CM7. I am doing this as i cannot even get the newest version of whatsapp to be installed much less to work. I was unable to get to the screen that rhs013232 has shown. I keep getting the error "Application not Installed" during installation.
So basically what i did was to:
1) Do a Ti Backup of whatsapp on my phone
2) Transfer the 3 whatsapp backup files (these 3 were created when backing up whatsapp) from my phone into the Kindle's Ti backup folder
3) install a copy of this version of whatsapp on the kindle
4) Restore the "Data" (not App or App+data) of whatsapp using Ti Backup
This should allow whatapp to work after that.
This copy of whatsapp will keep complaining that its an older version, so just tap ignore.

i MIGHT be wrong, but...
i think since you have installed a different rom and thus it seems you managed to get whatsapp installed, all u need is to do a restore of whatsapp data. This will pass the kindle's copy of whatsapp the phone's data of registration etc allowing it to work.
So i think you should uninstall and reinstall whatsapp (dont open whatsapp first till after the restore) and do the restore using TI backup to see if you can get it working before you try to use the older version.

Sorry man, but i dont think the whatsapp backup files can be shared as it will contain my account details. That means if you use them, u will be receiving msgs from my contacts instead.
I would suggest you borrow a friends phone and using your SIM card, you set up whatapps there and do the backup. That might work.

Replacement for Titanium Backup

Hi,
with the latest Android versions I found Titanium Backup to get more and more unreliable. For example I was not able to use batch restore after my recent migration to the Pixel 6 because Titanium Backup would get stuck after a couple of apps.
So my question is: What's the best root/non-root backup app right now?
Thanks!

> I just restored all my apps and system data on a Shamshung Handroid 11 AB partition device from a previous TWRP backup, storage data has to be backed up separately though. The phone was just like it was before except the media files photos etc, I had to put them back in using a pen drive.
> My guess is TB doesnt work like before coz Super partition and A/B slots now, it can't convert a user app into system app etc. but some functions still work. if your device is A/B type then you might find this link interesting with regards to backups too. Just general FYI thing.
Thanks. I didn't know about that. But it seems that there is no standalone version and it needs to be built into the is itself. So this is not really useful for me, since I want to stay on the stock Ron with Magisk.

no swfit does nor give any warnings. i noticed but so far i do not think it managed to restore any app data or settings neo backup does it some times after i install apk from play and then restore data only in neo. does not works all the tiume but some times i gety lucky. but allin all very disapointing spent 4 days trying to root my new phone with out bricking it my main reason was to be able to restore my backups so sad to learn titanium backup is gone used it a lot in the past. the idea was to only restore the apps I was missing not just every thing i had on my old phone (like a natural filter) but is sems the worl dhas gone total paranoid with security so lost of functionality (progress) has been scarificed for my security like I would be in danger if my bloodpressure would get known to the internet now I feeel every one knows exceptt me. or backup software refusing to backup if you do not wish to encrpt your data on sdcard) (no of course I di not want to encrypt my local backups I feelle it would just an othe risc of loosing my data. But you also have to know that the developers of titanium backup haven't released an update for over 4yrs so it is reasonable that it cannot work perfectly in higher android versions
Security has always been the talking point right now
And like you said people have different perspectives

hi thx for youre reply.
i am not upset with the developers (we should be glad they exist at all but just un happy with the way thing go in the cyber world.) I just learned my brand new samsung phone can't be used with my drone since the dji fly app is not compatible with android 13 for some reason. I blame google (google reallay is the compatibilie antichrist isnt it?)) and dji. Google for updating to fast and dji for not being ready for the new restrictions. I mean both are not small names I could read my heart rate with the 3 euro "smart"wathchs from ali express the only (big) down side was that the battery drained in like 1 hour and or problems with bluetooth not connecting. So my wife bought me the 180 euro "original" well it strays connected (mostly) but heart rate? no way is not safe for me to know. but yes its perspective.
Than she made it worse buy buying me a samsung phone thinking samnsung+samsung should work.. I mean I have the IR sensor of my TV in the lower left corner and there is a something blocking it so I have to stretchs to have my remote reach the sensor. Now its obviously not posisble (easy) for me to move the sensor. but in software it should be easy. (or at least cheap and possible after the thing is made (most of the times)).
About titanium backup. That really was an awesome program a shame the developer(s) stopped. (No bad feelings I just miss the app) It used to work like magic. I guess not enough people bought the pro version. (maybe google will come with android premium soon)
yeah I feel evry udate I get lesss. While the pre 2000 slogan was updatews more features Maybe that was true than for me evry update I loose lost of features one thing I did notice and love is the option (it seems as default android option) to reverse the back and recents button on the phone since it got swapped compared my old phone and I am old and slow to adapt and the settitings elst me change it) that actually made me smile. if only google could be google again and spent some effort in letting users tweak the phone to make it work like the user wants. WIthout needing to root.
Maybe in android 23.
ps never unpair your galaxy watch form your phone. coz even if you reconnectct it the stupid eatch thinks its a new phone and it is goin gto factory rest it self. wow great idea.

Heres what i do:
1> (If you have Org TWRP/ Custom TWRP) Reboot to that TWRP (Regardless of whether youre on Custom ROM/ Stock ROM/ Modified Stock ROM/ Ported ROM with or without Magisk)
2> In TWRP, Mount all partitions that are Mountable.
3> In TWRP, Go to WIPE section and select Advanced Wipe then Wipe Dalvik/ART Cache & Cache Partitions.
4> In TWRP, Go to BACKUP section then Select the following Partitions: Boot, Recovery, Data, Odm, Product, Vendor , System & Storage.
5> Create the Nandroid (TWRP) Backup (Typically the backup size comes to 7-8 GB if RAM SWAP File hasnt been created prior to backup).
6> #NOTE: Dont rely on Internal Storage Backup, it may/may not backup your personal data, so use a pen drive/OTG to backup the Internal Storage files. Also, don't select any other Partitions except the ones mentioned above.
7> Once the Baclup is done DONT CUT PASTE RATHER COPY the Backup TWRP Folder from the Internal Storage directly to PC using TWRP MTP (dont boot to android & then copy the Backup).
8> While restoring the backup from TWRP later if you find (error: File too large) then First Flash Custom ROM/Stock ROM etc.(Dont boot to Android yet), Leave out the file (system_image.emmc.win) and copy the rest to Internal Storage or OTG using TWRP MTP. Let TWRP restore remaining Files except (system_image.emmc.win)
9> After restoration completed , Wipe Dalvik/ART & Cache Partitions again , then REBOOT to TWRP. YOUR DEVICE WILL BE RESTORED TO PRE-BACKUP STATE.

hi thanks for your detailed guide. but i never got twrp installed. only magisk. fastboot seems no longer available so just flasing boot.img was not and option for me on my a13 i managed magics by not patching the boot.img but the whole ap_ firmware file. but that does not matter
i am looking for a way to make an individual backup of the app and data so i can backup before uninstall and if i regret my uninstalll i can restore that single app. or use it to tranfer my apps + data to my new phone .
i used to do that with titanium all the to time. i guess its called progress and i am a lot safer now i cant have decent backups.
but hey thanks again for your effort explaining. i am sure some one else can use that information

Yeah backing up an individual app was nice in TB Pro but the method I told you maybe look to be a huge 7-8Gb file but if you mess up a single app you can still revert back to how the device was just before you messed upthe app, i mean the backup takes about 2-3 minutes and restorations take even lesser about less than a minute. So for now TWRP backup does work flawlessly for at least Virtual A/B Partition devices. You could try reaching out to TB Devs on PleySthore or Tgram maybe to request for an update for recent Andoid versions. Good Luck.
