Hi everyone, last night I was replacing my girlfriends HTC sensation digitizer.
The replacement went well, or so I thought, untill we realised that the microphone wasnt working, I knew as I was replacing this, that I had broken something as I felt/saw the little cable snap.
Now I know it is the microphone flex cable that needs replacing (IF I AM WRONG ABOUT THIS PLEASE LET ME KNOW!!!)
I am about to buy the replacement flex cable, but I'm very nervous about carrying this fix out, as there is no tutorials on the internet.
I don't generally need tutorials, but I enjoy having them up for a reference, and I HAVE NEVER done a flex cable before.
Can anyone help me find out how to replace this cable?
Also let me know if the cable im talking about is the right cable to fix the mic.
Thanks very much in advanced ! Wilks3y
No one can help?
Seriously?
There posts about everything else but no one can help me out swapping a flex cable?

Hi Folks,
Yesterday I repaired the Backlight/LCD of my Raphael and destroyed the coaxial cable thats connecting the mainboard and the other board. After this action I tried to work with the phone but i have no receiving. Now I bared the rest of the cable and i have a little bit receiving. First i wanted to braze it, but the connectors are to small.
Has anyone an idea where i can get that part (coaxial cable)? I searched the www but didn´t found anything. Or are there any other ideas to get the phone correctly working?
I´m very sorry but that was my best english
Maybe someone can help, me.
Greetings,

Ouch sorry to hear
It always hurts when you try to repair one thing and in the process something else breaks. ( my poor psp and its LED mods )* RIP
Try having a look in the Raphael accessories forum.

sounds like you are talking about the "ribbon flex cable".
I damaged mine on my wizard or kaiser back in the day and ended up buying a damaged device off of ebay (one that was run over by a car!) and then taking the part form that device.
also you could check cnn.cn as they have parts for phones as well.
Hi,
Thanks for your replys. It´s not the "ribbon flex cable" it´s the cable shown in the picture named "antenna wire".
When there is another way then buy an old rapahael i´ll take that

Help - the connector into which the charge cord needs to be plugged is not making contact and so can't charge G-tablet. Any suggestions? Has anyone opened one yet to get inside?
Thanks for any help.

this is a thread with a hardware breakdown, should come in handy. I've never taken mine apart but it looks easy enough.

Been there, done that... You do need to crack it open (gently of course) and the thread above does show to do that. Once you're in there's a metal tab that you'll see within the power connector assembly but from the side (do NOT go through the connector hole). Once you see that, use something small to push it in about 1/8-1/4". You should get connection then.
Be warned that it will most likely stop working again as that tab is now weak(er). I'm going to see if I can find a better connection option for that or just resort to charging on a dock.
As you may be able to deduce, I've had the same problem.
Warranty Repair?

Have you thought about sending it in for warranty repair?
G Tablets have a one year warranty so it has to still be within warranty.
Call Viewsonic tech support. Their phone number is on their G Tablet page on the web site.
Morning forum,
My wife has a Nexus S and the USB port is broken. I can see on the inside of the socket the wires are mashed. Basically I can't charge the phone anymore. Does anyone have any ideas on how I could either fix it, or another way to charge the battery short of getting another Nexus S to charge the battery? It is also out of warranty to I would have to pay to get it fixed. That is going to be my ultimate solution but I would rather look at other ways first. Cash is tight.
Shawn
Maybe buy just a battery charger, that can charge the battery without going through the phone.
I decided to take it apart on look at the socket. I have have a friend that works with micro-electronics to solder in a new usb port. I will get it back today all fixed up (I hope). Thanks for the advice. I did see options for that. Good backup plan.

Did you manage to solder a new USB port? I have the same problem and wondered how difficult the repair is as I have ordered a replacement port from eBay. If you have fixed it please could you ask your friend to provide some tips on how to get the port off and on again.
Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated
Thanks
Hi guys.
Earlier this morning. My HTC is not charging. I've check the micro-usb port and it appears that there is a problem in the port because there is a brocken pin. I've tried to re-align it and out of luck, the pin broke. I am wondering if it is difficult to replace the micro USB battery port of the HTC sensation. I saw a post on incredible S section and it's easy to replace it as the USB port is just connected on the board via ribbon. Have anyone have encountered the same issue. Worse case scenario is I will need to have the usb port be remove on the phone and replace by a new one, but I am not good on soldering stuff and I might mess the phone big time. I hope someone can reply thanks.

At ifixit you can see a picture, that shows, that the port is soldered to the board.
I think it will be hard to solder a new one to it, since the pins are very tiny. Maybe you can find a replacement board on ebay?
I have already fixed my phone before replacing the MIC and the MIC module with USB Flex however it is now broken again, sadly cannot find this part new/used on the web. Anyone got one lying around or could point me in the right direction to buy it would be very much appreciated.
