Hi,
I would to take the most advantage from what i can get from HTC..
When im switching the local of the OS im getting the appripiate T9 keyboard wheb opening the dialer. But i would like to use the English local, and to get the Hebrew T9 keyboard when opening the dialer (i hope im understood).
Is there a way to enjoy both worlds?

Hello all,
I would like to know if it is possible to modify the HTC keyboards stock dictionary. Basically I would like to force it to type "the" every time I accidentally type "Tue".
I am currently using the XDA version of the keyboard, and know that it is possible to edit the user dictionary.
Thanks.

x3, im sick of it trying to shove "OS" onto my texts instead of "is"
I think if you type the word enough it starts to use the other one.
Alright, to get to the user dictionary, pull up the keyboard and look for the microphone icon, it should also have a gear under it on that same button. long press it and this brings up the touch input settings. Scroll down to user dictionary and add or remove any words you would like. The nice thing with that is now I never text ducking to people........
Hi, I would like to know how to access HTC dictionaries too. I am currently deodexing a Gingerbread 2.3.5 ROM to try an d find the needed apk and all.
I am using a ROM which doesn't support French dictionary, spell-checking, or prediction (obviously you might say if there is no dict...) and would like to add at least this dictionary.
Could anyone point me in the right direction ? I would be grateful !
Edit : HTC_IME.apk from stock ROM did the job for me. Check my post here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1521922
Hi there!
I am constantly switching input methods and languages, and fortunately Swype makes it easy enough to do the last one.
The thing is: my main input method is Swype, either in portuguese our english. But when I'm editing a spreadsheet, for instance, I actually prefer the stock HTC keyboard, for which I have turned off word suggestion and completion.
So, I would like to know if anyone here knows a way to automatically change the input method depending on the app I'm currently using. That would be just perfect!
Cheers

I would like to type Japanese and Korean using default keyboard on apps such as GMail or text message to write messages in these languages.
Is there anything I can do besides custom rom or rooting? I plan to use stock ROM as long as possible
I noticed that I could change the menu in Korean or Japanese, but that's not what I want. I would like to keep the menu in English.. but it's just that I would like to have a keyboard option.
It doesn't seem like none of the Asian language option is available.
Please help me out! Thanks!
I would do a Google search for "Japanese ime" or "japanese htc ime." I think I saw a few options but I haven't tried any myself. That should point you in the right path.

I know Google offers a Korean IME free in the marketplace. Not sure about the Japanese situation.

Thank you all for the help. I'll try that out later tonight
I use Simeji for Japanese.
I found 'Korean IME' made by Google themselves on Android Market and this definitely works. Thank you again!
sweet thanks! I just downloaded it and it works really well. now I have this and my gingerbread MTM keyboard to type in both languages.
Hello all, I ve just connected a physical keyboard to my Xoom but I cant type in Greek. I use SwiftKey keyboard as a greek supported virtual keyboard (works flawlessly) and although I am able to write in English, I cant type in Greek with my physical keyboard. If anyone knows a way to do that please tell me how. Thanks in advance
Did you set the physical keyboard to greek in the settings? Each keyboard type needs own settings :/
check setting
Problem is that Xoom doesnt have greek keyboard thats why i use swiftkey keyboard as virtual keyboard. Is there a way to add greek in system/usr/keychars?
I could help you with your problem

I've already used morelocale2 this morning with no luck to change input method, only local settings language.

I just found the solution and it was much easier than I thought. The solution is called Go keyboard, one of the most popular keyboard apps on the market. I was using swiftkey, tried smart keyboard, tried slide it but none of these had support for physical( hard) keyboard if you hadn't had Greek input method as an option in settings menu.
Thank you all for the help anyway.
In greek ευχαριστώ πολύ
Current betas are included. Pick which third-party keyboard you've chosen as your go-to keyboard.
SwiftKey is the Best
I have tried both Swype and SwiftKey and in my point of view "SwiftKey" is the best.
I use thumb keyboard..its stable and more responsive.. imo..

I use the GO Keyboard. I like the designs and interface as well as the multi language functionality when I need to communicate in Latin to my brethren. It's got swype functionality and it's free too. I've used several keyboards before so I've had a decent spectrum to play with.
SwiftKey is awesome! Their new Flow feature (basically their version of Swype) is great too.
I've Enjoyed Mine!
I used to use as many keyboards I could to test which I like. For a long time I didn't keep a keyboard for a week. I eventually found the keyboard of my dreams (replaced by the stock ICS now)... Jelly Bean Keyboard by VLLWP. I highly recommend it.:good:
Since 4.2 never used any software as it included swype feature.
Before that swype 3
And also used siine keyboard just for fun.

I use swiftkey. The trail it leaves when swiping looks loads better than Swype and stock JB
Swiftkey on my phone, Hackers Keyboard on my tab. (swipe on 10.1 inch, really?)

I use Touchpal on my phone and tab. I like the fast switching between languages (I switch a lot between English and Dutch) and between swyping and typing. And the fast way to type numbers and symbols (swyping up on the right key) is a big advantage.
TouchPal is the best.

Smartkeyboard.
I gave so many others the chance, but every other missed features I need.
I need customizable longpress duration, customizable smileys (I even use a smiley key as my mail, meaning it's so much easier to login everywhere) and really important: the whole keyboard must be resizable (because my lcd density on the nexus4 is on 240, wich would mean every keyboard is extremely small).
I also like the arrowkeys in portrait mode and the domainkey (wich I only use for even more shortcut smileys susch as \o/ or ^^ / ^.^)
Oh, and I don't need any prediction, here in switzerland we write in swiss-german, wich doesn't really exist. There is no word prediction or something like that for us.
I get an average kpm of 240-250 with smartkeyboard pro. Once I even got to almost 300
Mine is Swype. The only feature it's missing that I desperately want is a setting for long press duration.

I'm using Swype atm.
SwiftKey is the best in my opinion because its much better than the stock keyboard.
I wish SwiftKey had the action of the swype key.

I am using anysoftkeyboard.
It's not bad.
I actually liked SwiftKey Flow, even though everyone hates it.
