[ROM] Samsung GFit Gingerbread 2.3.4 new version (29th July)

I'm not sure if this is the right forum for posting this but yeah, if it's wrong feel free to delete :3
Was wandering on Samfirmware.com, found out that a new update for Samsung Gfit gingerbread (S5670XWKQ2) has just been released, i installed it and wow:
- Much Snappier
- Option to turn off mobile data in the "shutdown" menu (under the flight mode)
- Option for 2G Only OR 3G only Mode (in wireless networks options)
- Much MUCH better reception, the phone gives me good reception on 3G mode and it STICKS there, not randomly snapping between 2g, edge & 3G.
-OH and the recovery screen works on this one too (power + home + volume down)
-Slightly Better connected letters for the Arabic language, idk maybe it's just me o.o
-It seperates the phone numbers now (example 0777480209 becomes 077-7480-209 But that only worked on an Incoming/Outgoing Call).
-A "Traffic Widget" that asks you to enter a specific destination, idk what this does o,o.
-anything else tell me :3

====Installation instructions====
0 - Connect your Phone in "Download" Mode (By turning off the phone, clicking the Power Button + Home button + Volume down button).
1 - Download the file from the above page.
2 - extract to a folder using the password Provided on the site (idk if i can provide it here o.o)
3 - you'll get two files, a .Dll and a .Tar, keep it like this, don't get nosy and rename/extract anything, keep them in the file.
4 - Run ODIN multi downloader, and load up a .OPS file for your phone.
5 - Select "One file package" from ODIN and in look waaay down, there's the one package selector, click it and browse to the .Tar file you got earlier, and click it.
6 - Once you made sure everything is in place, click start and it should take no longer than 3-5 minutes and you're done
7 - once done, the phone will restart and may take a while to start up, this is normal, go to settings, change the language and you're ready to go.
Boot into recovery mode, clear the cache partition, then Enjoy.

Don't do anything with it, just keep it in the same folder with the .Tar file and just flash the phone using the .tar hope that helped <3

i got that too the first time, easily solved.
Flash the S5670XXKPI here http://hotfile.com/dl/120301527/b900a23/S5670XXKPI.rar.html First, Reboot into recovery and clear the cache partition, and then flash the new Firmware and clear the cache.
That should do it

Prerequisites
- Charge your device to a minimum of 90% as since the procedure is bit lengthy, the phone will consume more battery than the normal usage. Lesser battery will lead to the turning Off of the device in the middle of the firmware update process.
- Back up all your data which is there in the phone memory, as in an unlikely event if the data gets lost then you can easily restore the backup.
- Up next is you need to ensure that the USB Debugging is enabled in your phone. The USB Debugging can be enabled from the path of Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging. Apart from this you also need to ensure that your computer has ADMIN privileges and USB Read / Write Access. It’s not recommended to use computers which have limited access.
Instructions For Custom ROM users
Just in case if you are on any of the custom ROMs then you need turn Off your phone so that you can then enter into the recovery mode. The recovery mode can be entered by pressing Volume UP Key + Middle button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button. If the device boots normally then you need to again try to enter the same.
In the recovery mode, select the options like Wipe data/factory reset, Wipe Cache partition and then select reboot system now to reboot the phone. You can select the options using the Volume keys and can select the appropriate option by pressing the Power button. This basically clears off all the cache data which is there in the phone so that the room can be made to accommodate this all new custom ROM firmwares
Procedure For Updating
STEP 1: Official Firmware Installation
First up you need to update your phone with the 2.3.x version of firmware (And not on Froyo 2.2.x). You need to follow the instructions which are mentioned below in the form of Links. Please note that it’s a base firmware and you need to install it
STEP 2:Install ClockWorkMod 5 Recovery Image

Now, Switch off Your Fit And Enter into Download Mode By Pressing Power+Menu Button+Volume Down Button Until Downloading Mode Appears.Open S5670_Odin_Multi_Downloader_v4.38.exe.Place BENI_v1.0.ops on OPS tab.Check the One Package Option.Place beni_cwm-5_ext4_v2.tar on One Package tab.Connect the device to PC which you have put in Downloading Mode.Press Start and wait for flashing process is finished.
After this you will have to proceed to the next step which is mentioned Further

So, there you go as soon as the phone is rebooted you will see that the firmware is updated with the latest version of Android 4.0(ICS 4.0.3)...

My opinion is that what you are doing on this website is wrong.

[ALL STOCK ROM] [DEODEXED for newbies]

PLEASE DONT MIRROR
This is totally for newbies who want to easily deodexed their stock firmware
At first i made this for a specific stock rom (dxli1) but then after try severel stock rom with the same deodexed apps and firmware it works like a charm!
As i test it without errors, u guys can use it to deodexed your stock rom
for stock DXLI1, follow this step or skip it if prefer your own stock..
first...download this Odin pack firmware to pc and extract it...
>>STOCK DXLI1<<
Download Odin (this is the latest) extract it
>>ODIN<<
run Odin, on your phone make sure to tick USB debugging in settings> applications> development then turn off phone and enter download mode (press vol down + home + power) then connect usb to pc, u will notice [com port] with yellow color on Odin.
now choose the following:
PDA = pda
PHONE = modem
CSC = csc
dont tick others, then START to flash the firmware...wait till the box turn green and you're done
your phone now running DXLI1 (check in settings> about phone)

After fresh install your stock rom via Odin, take this 3 files and place it on root of sdcard (not in any folders)
>>ROOT<<
>>CWM<<
>>DEODEXED STOCK DXLI1<< (normal)
OR
>>DEODEXED STOCK DXLI1<< (ICS app icon)
Turn off phone, enter recovery mode (press vol up + home + power) as u see samsung word release power button, u are in recovery mode when u see the red text
once in, use vol up and down to go up and down, use home to select...
choose Apply update and choose 1_ROOT.zip...install
reboot....then u will get Superuser icon in app drawer, your phone is now rooted (so the waranty)
enter recovery mode again, now apply update and choose CWM.zip...install
u will now enter CWM (ClockWorkMod recovery)
Choose install update from sdcard> choose zip from sdcard and choose DXLI1_deodexed_by_encik_racun.zip...install
wait for it to finish then reboot
check if you still have root access, if not please install 1_ROOT.zip again in recovery...
your phone now running deodexed stock rom enjoy....
TAKE NOTE!: if u get force close or busybox not working, please download Buaybox Installer from Playstore and update your busybox.
Extra (if u want more) ;
LIDROID TOGGLE
ENABLE CUSTOM BOOTANIMATION
6 VISIBLE TOGGLE
note:
1. Flashlight on Lidroid is not working coz i not add it coz its useless since galaxy y not have camera flash, the white flash on the screen is just a white background not a flash
2. U need to remove bloatwares coz i added full app including Samsung default apps (u can take bloatwares remover script from my signature).
3. Note that i change the default 4 dock icon launcher to 5 dock icon launcher.
4. I also add Link2sd app for convinience (u can remove it in /system/app/ using root explorer if u dislike it)

Copy the android folder inside the "adb, fastboot tools" folder to the root of ur C drive
So now u have a folder like this C:\Android which contains adb.exe, fastboot.exe etc..
Driver installation -- Here
Troubleshooting
** Connect ur micromax phone and enable usb debugging
** Now go to my computer, right click on it and select manage option
** In that select the device manager option
** Now in the listing u shd see our device listed in "others"
** Right click on it and select "Update Driver Software"
** In the wizard select "Browse my comp"
** Now select " Let me pick ...." at the bottom
** Now wait for some time and then select # Select ADB devices or Android phone from list (if u don't see this skip it) # Manufacturer as Google (this is also optional) and then select "ADB Testing interface/ ADB composite Interface"
** This shd get u right adb drivers
** This procedure is same if ur phone is not recognized in fastboot mode!!!

Now a method to flash recovery:
Prerequisites:
Copy the CWMrecovery6.0.img to the root of C drive, such that u have a file like this C:\CWMRecovery6.0.img
Method:
** Now open the command prompt "cmd"...
** Change to the directory
Android in the extracted folder of tools - "cd C:\Android\
** Type "adb devices"..
This will list phone something like this "7227****** device"
(If it doesn't see troubleshooting)
** Now type "adb reboot-bootloader"
Wait till the phone reboots into fastboot mode (just phone back lit blank screen)...
[If nothing happens, Remove your phone, Open the phone battery and put it back on
Then Switch on with "Vol Down + Power"
Then u should come to backlit screen]
** Now at this tym if u hav lost the device recognition, use the first post to update device driver again...
** Now type "fastboot devices"...
Again u shd see the device listing as u had got before...
** Now type "fastboot flash recovery C:\CWMrecovery6.0.img
Congrats u hav successfully flashed recovery!!!
** Now type "fastboot reboot"...
Rooting
** Copy the Root-CWM.zip in the package above to the root of ur sdcard
** Reboot into recovery
** Choose Install zip from sdcard > Choose from sdcard > Root-CWM.zip
** Wait till it finish
** Reboot!!!

1) If i install CWM, it means in future i cant give my cell to service center ?
2) Can i install STOCK ROM if i dont like any new ROM?

Now i've some problems related to my own MMX A100 :
4) My sms/whatsapp tone changed to unknown after sometime and it only vibrates, also music player show zero files after 1hr. When i refresh then also its not able to show files. But i can view/play any music file via any file explorer. Where is the problem?
5) I'm not able to send long SMS.
I think i've bought this cell with oldest FW. I bought on 20 sept 2012. and there are few updates available in MMX FTP site, but i dont know how to use them. So kindly help me out.

Welcome to xda!!!
1) If u install cwm and u want to revert back to the original recovery - just flash the original recovery.img (found in the stock rom zip/rar) using the same proceedure shown in 2nd post
2) Flashing the stock rom/ custom rom is at ur will flash whichever u want using the proceedure in the third post!!! Btw I haven't checked out the proceedure myself though its working for lot of ppl..
3) Same website as u told to me, actually that was thr only link I could find out in all google!!!
4) U may hav stored ur songs in internal storage (emmc folder)...
The stock app somehow doesn't recognize the songs there u vl just see the names in the playlist...
Soln - Use third party app, I use poweramp pro!!!
5) That long message problem seems a mixup by the mmx ppl..
Try third party messaging app like Go SMS...
I don't hav problem in sending long messages and I bought my phone on 14 aug!!!
Its working smooth just I can see my screen flikr at times...
That should fix it all bro, Don't forget to press the Thanx Button!!!

That ringtone mixup thing can be fixed by
Go to sound settings and select the ringtone which is in the internal system of ur phone...
Don't select the SD ringtones
Now go to message and whatsapp and from the settings make the ringtone as default ringtone...

i ve tried all way. CUstom tones from emmc or sd works for an hour. after that whatsapp and sms tones gets silent, but incoming call ringtone works. even i listen songs from diff players, but after sometime it shows zero files. couldnt play.
by d way, is ur camera fixed or not? is any QR reader working on ur cell?

today i installed GO SMS , but still my sms are failing. is it problem of dual sim? i m sending sms via sim2. using sim1 is for 3G only.

The sms prblm u r saying doesn't occur to me...
I sent an sms about 500 characters long from both the sims!!!

But I hav heard that while u are using 3G on first sim, u have to disconnect all data, wifi and BT connections and then use the 2G sim, otherwise it doesn't work...
When u r using 3G data the 2G sim becomes unreachable...

no nothing like that. my 3g always ON in background. ok.... now help me. yesterday night i diwnloaded all files from ftp.
and u plz check gogi.in site for update tutorial. he has posted how to update mmx a110 with ROM2 with the help of sp flash tool. is that the same method for mmx a100?

fastboot,
psqt
and my cell is rooted.. do i need to unroot first? tonight i will flash with that camera fix rom.

Use Fastboot...
No need to Unroot...
Just extract the zip fastboot upgrade tool...
In that replace
Cache image
Persist image
System image
User data image
With the similar files from v3 update
Make sure the old names and new names match...
Now connect ur phone in fastboot mode as said in the starting posts and then run fastboot upgrade.bat
Do reply if u got that bugs u mentioned fixed or not!!!
PM for any more help..

finally i found the solution of stuck at samsung logo after flashing gingerbread with odin
can not acces to /system/cec/SER/system/
the solution is:
first download and flash froyo GT-I9003 DXKB2 2.2.1.rar with odin

odin flash:
phone :MODEM_I9003DXKB2_REV_00_CL863799.tar.md5
csc:GT-I9003-CSC-MULTI-OLBKB2.tar.md5

click start and wait until pass then remove usb
froyo will be installed and it will start normally
then root froyo with superoneclick here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=987169
and download and install root explorer
then:
please be carefully:
open root explorer
make sure you go to the main folder (not sd cards)
click "system" then "csc"
The file system in there is Read/Only, so you must make it Read/Write by clicking the Mount R/W up on right, it will become Mount R/O.
Now press the menu button and click "New Folder"
Make the a folder you need, Which in your case it is "SER" then in that folder make another one called "system"
All those folders are case sensitive i think... just do it in case.
Now... On all 3 folders (csc, SER, & system) touch & hold the folder till "options" appears, then click "permissions"
and tick all boxes.
Abracadabra, ... The problem will be gone now!
now you can flash gingerbread rom you want with odin with no problem and boot normally ................

This not the actual solution.
The CSC is region sales code setting. So the actual solution is key below in dialer
*272*imei number#
You will come to a sales code selection screen choose your code than phone will factory reset
