Here is my problem, I connect my phone to my car radio using a speaker cord connected to the headphone jack of the phone which works great. Problem is when I try to then make a call using my Q2 bluetooth headset. I can make the call, but it reverts back to the car speakers and not through the bluetooth device and the microphone on the bluetooth doesn't work either. It uses the samsung microphone.
Is this a setting issue, or do I need to unplug the speaker cord from the headphone jack every time I try to make a call?
Just found another similar thread. Still no answers?

I too would like to know if there is a way to make it work. so far the only thing that works is unplugging the cable to talk on bluetooth. which is kinda defeats the purpose of hands free. I am rooted and still can't find a solution. if you find any hack please post it here!
one other way is to buy a BT receiver that has audio and phone, but i kinda want to keep my integrated one.

Found it today. I was reviewing a post and poster (cant remember who!) mentioned he had a defective headset and used SoundAbout from the playstore to fix it. That got me curious, so I opened the app description and found that it would help with our problem. I downloaded the free version then the paid version $2.99 and it works. I am so happy you can not imagine. care the settings that worked for me:
Headset Plug in/out, checked.
Headset microphone, checked.
Notification Audio, checked.
Media audio, wired headphones
Bluetooth behavior, Bluetooth disconnected, checked
Bluetooth Auto Enable, checked
Phone call audio, Wired Headphones (but keeps reverting back to "Let Phone Decide" for some reason!)
I will email the developer and see if he has a solution and post back, but this is not a show stopper by any means.
Buy the paid version and enjoy the SG3 the way it should have worked out of the box.

I am coming from using a Motorola Q9H. When paired with my bluetooth headset (Plantronics Voyager 520), the Q9H would deliver all audio (phone calls, notifcation sounds, Skyfrie, Youtube, etc) through the bluetooth headset. The Fuze doesn't seem to do this. Is there a way to force this functionality, though? I have Advanced Config installed, if that helps any.
Please search the forum. This has been covered many times.
Hint look in Setting/Personal look in there for your answer!

I can't get all sounds through my voyager 520 either. I can do it with my Cardo S-2 stereo bluetooth headphones though, it seems like the Raphael doesn't support that out of the box for non-A2DP profile devices. Sound quality for anything but phone conversations suck through a regular headset anyway. You should really invest in some stereo bluetooth headphones, it's worth it!
Well, the only reason I want to do it is for the odd Youtube video on the bus and such. Quality isn't a concern since I don't listen to music from my phone.
I recently got a set of bluetooth stereo headphones, but before I did, this worked fine for me.

Thank you. I'm going to try that after work.
One thing, if I leave the toggle on, and then disconnect the BT, will it then play the sounds through the speakerphone as usual and then back through the BT as soon as I connect the BT again?
I know the sounds went through the speaker after turning off the BT headset. I think I had to run the toggle app twice to get the sounds to go through the BT headset again (once to disable the old orphaned BT pairing, once to enable it with the new one). I'm not sure about that, though, and can't try it conveniently, as I just flashed a new ROM and didn't bother installing the toggle app since I didn't need it with the new stereo headphones.
Thanks. I'll give it a try and see what happens.

It is free and it works.
Didn't work for me in trying to route TomTom speaker instructions through bluetooth to the car. :-(

Dunno what to say. My initial motivation for trying it out was to route amAze GPS navigation instructions through my bluetooth headset, and it worked fine for that. Worked for TCPMP video sound, too. I don't know why TomTom would be different.

Maybe it's headset/handsfree profile difference?
Is there anything available that will force my HD2 to use the internal mic while a headset is plugged into the 3.5mm socket?
I often use my HD2 to listen to music in my car using a 3.5mm jack to jack cable into the aux in port just near my handbrake which works a charm.
When I get a call the music is interrupted and if I answer it I can hear the caller through my car speakers however they can't hear me as the phone is in headset mode and is expecting a mic to be plugged in.
I don't think it's a simple case of re-routing which mic is used as while that may technically work the caller would be able to hear themselves delayed through my cars sound system. I need the phone to send the mic into speaker mode so it has a detection system that stops the caller hearing themselves but send the output through the headset socket.
I hope that makes sense?
seems strange that it does not working .. i use this way to listen music & gps instructions and it is working ok, with the phone's microphone.. try i different 3.5mm jack (stereo) .. or you have a cooked rom ?
I just tried a different cable and it's working! strange for some reason the HD2 must have thought my cable was headset?
Thanks!
yeah it dosnt work cuz if u look @ the original headset it has 3 lines which meant 2 for the stereo ear pice and 1 for the mic, i have the same prob i dnt like the origenal headset so i use mine which means i have to unplug it every time i get a call, but i think the only way to use good headset with mic is to buy the iphone headset, its the same priciple with a better sound quality of the headset
If your jack has only 3 contacts, the phone can sense there's no 4th one, so there's no mic, and uses the internal mic. If your cable has 4 contacts, it will try to use external mic even if there's actually none.
oooo yeah u r right, lol, jst tried it it work
thnx man
wow, i was just asking myself the same question. i have a pair of sennheiser earphones(without mic), when i take an incoming call the other side cannot hear me most of times. but, sometimes the internal microphone is activated and i can speak using my earphones. this seems a quite random problem, i don't understand. even with skype, sometime i can use earphones, some other time i'm forced to unplug using the loudspeaker...boh...
i want my phone mic since my built in carstero mic is to far away
On a similar note, is it possible to have the internal speaker announce GPS instructions while I'm playing music via Bluetooth?

if you want the voice on the car stero the ngo to the bluetooth settings moor or advance whatever and select play system sounds or something like that
Moderator: Please move to Eris general discussion. Thank you.
I have done two factory resets to attempt to solve this with no luck.
I have two BT headsets and my car hands free paired with my Eris. My headsets seem to drop the connection to the phone for no apparent reason. Also, before the upgrade, if I walked out of range of my phone, it would reconnect automatically when I got back in range. This no longer happens.
Also, when I get in my car with my headset connected to my phone, it disconnects the headset and connects the car's hands free system. I want the headset to stay connected in that circumstance. Before the upgrade my headset would stay connected.
Also, when listening to audio (music) on one of my BT headsets, I connect to the aux jack in my car, the BT audio is supposed to disconnect, but that doesn't happen. The audio continues to play through the headset and nothing comes from the aux on the car.
Anyone got any ideas on how to solve these issues?
Get a new phone.
Let me clarify - get a non-Sense phone.
HTC neutered BT in Eclair Sense because it was causing "compatibility issues" or some BS like that with Sense. We discovered this when owners of the Incredible started to complain about it.
It's not a problem, it's a feature!!
Seriously, though, if you root your phone and install an AOSP ROM (like CELB or KaosFroyo) your BT will work exactly right again. That's what worked for me anyway.
The feature comment was funny and right on. Thanks for your help.
One other the thought. The car BT uses the handsfree profile. The Plantronics Pro headset I use is capable of both the headset profile and the handsfree profile. However, when it pairs with the Eris you don't have a choice to use handsfree profile so it pairs under headset profile. I think handsfree profile has priority on the Eris. If I could figure that out, I probably would be better off.
I downloaded several Voice Recognition apps to use while driving. However, it seems that Voice Recognition doesn't work at all on this phone while it is in the Car Dock.
I'm using the official Motorola Car Dock, and it plays audio through my stereo fine. Voice calls are coming through the speaker, not outputting through the dock.
I know my issue is not a background noise problem, because even a few minutes after I take it out of the dock, I get an error message if I try to use the voice recognition. It would seem that something about being in the dock is blocking this functionality.
I've tried it while on the Blaze rom, Sonya, SCV6, and stock. None of them work. So I'm thinking this is probably a hardware issue.
Is anyone else experiencing this problem? Also, has anyone figured out how to get call audio to go through the usb to the stereo?

Have you tried skyvi? It supposedly supports cardock mode.
I've noticed a similar problem with some apps, but the built-in Voice Search app works fine while in the dock. So I don't think it's a hardware dock problem. I've been trying to figure out a pattern of what doesn't work.
What app are you trying to use?
And did you have any Bluetooth devices connected when you tried the apps?
The latest one I tried was Vlingo, but I couldn't get it to work when my phone was paired with my car audio via Bluetooth. My theory is that Vlingo was only waiting for audio to come through BT, and was ignoring the built-in mic. But the way the car works, audio would never come through that way, so I could never get it to work unless I turned off my BT.
Just my 2 cents.
You should be able to have your calls route through the dock if you turn speaker phone off. I have llama or whatever turn speaker off when it's in the dock and a call comes in or is made.
As for the voice recognition, I've used the Google voice actions, vlingo, and Dragon dictation just fine while in the dock. I'm pretty sure all of them need a data connection to work. Also, make sure the phone's mic can pick up your voice.
Sorry, I don't have any other advice to get it to work. Let me know if you want me to try things on my dock. I'm currently using stock odexed rooted and themed, but I've used other roms fine too.

I find that the search apps work just fine when using the car dock. The microphone doesn't seem to have any issue picking up my voice that way.
My problem is that nobody can hear me when I turn off the speaker phone and run the phone call audio through the speakers. Everyone says it's like I'm talking in a tunnel. I actually haven't tried it by using he speaker phone in the dock just because I can't hear the other person while driving, however, indications from using the speakerphone at home are that the speakerphone microphone (near the ear piece) just doesn't cut it. In he end, I usually just turn on my bluetooth headset and talk that way.
Does anyone else have an issue with the microphone trying to use the phone in speakerphone mode? Does anyone know how to increase the gain on the microphones while on the phone?
I've looked at a few threads about a Bluetooth issue, but I'm not having that. I can pair a bluetooth headset and listen to music all day long. I do when I work out in the mornings as well.
The problem is when I get in my vehicle (I've tested it with regular headphones as well) and hook up a 3.5mm cable, it only sends system sounds. I cannot listen to iHeartRadio, music player, or Pandora. I'm sure any similar programs would yield the same result.
Rooted and with a custom ROM (currently Bean's but it also happened when running Synergy). Has anyone found this a little finicky?
Interesting...I assume you're using stereo Bluetooth, which works fine by most accounts.
That sounds like your hardware is just totally defective. Have you tried turning Bluetooth off and using the headphones? It may be as simple as it still sending the media stream to your Bluetooth device, which is normal behavior. As we have found out the hard way, you can't use both at the same time.
This issue mainly affects those of us without car A2DP Bluetooth that allows streaming all audio so we need to use the aux jack for media audio. When we do that we cannot use Bluetooth for calls unless we disconnect the stereo cable.

Yes it was stereo bluetooth. As far as defective hardware goes, I actually think it's a firmware/software issue. This is due to the fact that when I first installed Bean's Rom it worked again for a day. I probably went to the gym in between the days and then noticed the problem. The bluetooth is off when I'm not using my headphones.
I just placed an order on Amazon for a double din Clarion deck with just about every bluetooth profile offered (exaggeration... have you ever wiki'd bluetooth profiles?).
Thanks for chiming in! Always nice to get a reply.
