I have done two factory resets to attempt to solve this with no luck.
I have two BT headsets and my car hands free paired with my Eris. My headsets seem to drop the connection to the phone for no apparent reason. Also, before the upgrade, if I walked out of range of my phone, it would reconnect automatically when I got back in range. This no longer happens.
Also, when I get in my car with my headset connected to my phone, it disconnects the headset and connects the car's hands free system. I want the headset to stay connected in that circumstance. Before the upgrade my headset would stay connected.
Also, when listening to audio (music) on one of my BT headsets, I connect to the aux jack in my car, the BT audio is supposed to disconnect, but that doesn't happen. The audio continues to play through the headset and nothing comes from the aux on the car.
Anyone got any ideas on how to solve these issues?
Get a new phone.
Let me clarify - get a non-Sense phone.
HTC neutered BT in Eclair Sense because it was causing "compatibility issues" or some BS like that with Sense. We discovered this when owners of the Incredible started to complain about it.
It's not a problem, it's a feature!!
Seriously, though, if you root your phone and install an AOSP ROM (like CELB or KaosFroyo) your BT will work exactly right again. That's what worked for me anyway.

One other the thought. The car BT uses the handsfree profile. The Plantronics Pro headset I use is capable of both the headset profile and the handsfree profile. However, when it pairs with the Eris you don't have a choice to use handsfree profile so it pairs under headset profile. I think handsfree profile has priority on the Eris. If I could figure that out, I probably would be better off.

i have a really cheap but nice looking samsung headset, no problem to get paired with the diamond. should work with any other headset, too!?
My existing is just a cheap iTouch bluetooth headset and it works perfectly.
I don't think Diamond has any problem to work with other brands.
I have an old Motorola Bluetooth headset (4 Years) and it will not pair with my Diamond. Looks like its time to upgrade to a Jawbone!! hehehe

Theres a app called btAudio (keep a google-eye open for newer versions) that does exactly this, it will send ALL sound to the headset, despite of what windows had in mind for the sound (as in if it was gonna use headset or build-in speaker)
Tho, it sometimes chokes when you dont shut down the app before you disable the bluetooth headset or phones bluetooth function, but i guess that kinda makes sense (its even sayd in the program to not do that, but im a sucker for trying such things hehe)
And another thing, this happend for me too (taken from comments on some site, linked below)
The program runs well however if you try to make a phone call with the blue tooth ear piece while the program is active the program is not available after the call is completed.
I had to reset my phone to enable the program again. - source of comment
Guess thats related to windows not being to happy theres multiple apps using the headset, lets hope for a next version which auto-disables when calling and re-enables when u hang up.

Got the manual that Jabra put up on their support site for a day or two before taking it off. Manual says it also supports A2DP and can stream music.
And what about battery life? Could somebody using bluetooth stereos write how long the Diamond can last, and what is the overall impact on battery life while listening to music?

It also works on my pc and my PS3 as a wireless headset/mic!
I have proper enclosed stereo headphones Dell DH-200 with volume control, next and previous track plus play/pause buttons and it all works fine with HTC DT. The only think I am not sure about is which profile it is using, the sound is not as good as when I have it paired with my laptop, which would suggest a low speed profile as opposed to HQ.
You can change the bluetooth profile in Schap's Advanced Config. I've set bitpool to 70, max to 76 and min to 64. Now the sound quality is waaay better.
I can't connect my Jabra 320's (worked with SE W880i) to BT Stereo, it only see's the headphones as a handsfree unit on the HTC
Jawbone. Nothing else comes close (for hands free anyway!). And the new one even matches the Diamond... sort of!
Has anyone suffered the sound periodically dropping out for a second or two, mainly during the first minutes of connection but still persisting now and again several tracks down the playlist?

I have a Diamond, and a cardo rider Q2 for my motorbike helmet. They pair up nicely for phone calls, but I cannot get music to stream to the helmet.
All other functions work fine. If I press a button on the phone the sound of the button comes through.
The annoying thing is that my friend has a N95 and it works just fine, so I know the headset is capable.
Is there some setting that I need to change? Or a download to fix this?
Any help would be appreciated. And please take it easy on me as I am not very capable with technology.

Double click on the icon of the paired headphones on the bluetooth screen and make sure that Wireless Stereo is ticked.
The system is using two profiles- one for phone calls (headphones) and the other for music (Wireless Stereo). Yout helmet BT earphones should be able to switch in between as long as they are enabled.

When I do that it only gives me the option of "hands free".
If I plug in my wired HTC head phones while maintaining the blue tooth connection to my helmet and play music the music comes through the wired headset, but when I try to voice activate an outgoing phone call the music changes from the wired headset to the bluetooth headset temporarily.

But like you the TD only registers 'hands free', I have checked the profile in BT and it only shows hands free, there is no BT Stereo box to tick/untick. I have tried installing/uninstalling and using a third party BT program (recommend in a previous thread) and have just upgraded to the new official Rom all to no avail.
I think the TD likes some stereo headset's but sees some others as just a mono handsfree unit.

I have the same Jabra 320's... finally got them working as Wireless stereo pressing the main button again and again during pairing... I didn't know it was going to work - It was out of frustration!!!
I tried several times with my 320's (deleted, re-installed, tried different ways/software) all to no avail.
There is a software upgrade for the 320's on the Jabra site but you need a special usb connector to flash the unit.
In the end I picked up the newer BT3030 cheaply on e-bay and they were recognised straight away as Handsfree and stereo BT streaming.
Both the 320's and 3030's have the A2DP profile, so not sure why the don't see the 320's correctly?
So happily cycling to work again with the BT3030 and listening to BT stereo.
In order for you to do what you want your headset must support A2DP Bluetooth profile (and even if it does it may not work!). That is the profile needed to send stereo music from the HTC. Most handsfree units do not do that - they just support headset and handset Bluetooth profiles.
There is a utility available called BTMusic that can be downloaded free from here. This will allow music to be sent using the headset or handset Bluetooth profiles, and it worked with my Parrot car kit, so it may work for you. The problem is that it is mono only and the quality of the sound is not brilliant - after all these profiles were never designed for that.
So the alternative is to find a new headset that supports both handsfree and A2DP profiles and works with both.

I have an AT&T Fuze with the stock ROM (WM 6.1). I know the Fuze is supposed to support multiple simultaneous bt connections. What I would like to do is connect A2DP to my Pioneer stereo for music playback, and also connect handsfree to my Jawbone 2 headset for phone calls while in the car.
I can successfully connect A2DP to my stereo for music by itself.
I can successfully connect HFP to my Jawbone 2 by itself.
I *have* managed to connect to both at the same time, by staying on an active phone call with my Jawbone, then telling my Fuze to connect to the car stereo. However, no music could be heard (from either Mortplayer or WMP). The phone call stayed up just fine though.
Anyone know if there's a way to get both working at the same time?
(And before you ask, I would just use the hands-free capability of my Pioneer stereo for phone calls too, but I've found my car is too noisy for anyone to hear me with the Pioneer's microphone unless I hold it right in front of my mouth, which defeats the "hands free" goal...)

In your case I do not think that is possible since the concept of being able to juggle 2 devices at the same time requires 1 to relinquish control while the other goes active. It turns off the music so you do not get distracted while talking and reconects the music after the call is over.
It seems to be a software protocol if anything. Yes both can be connected at the same time, but both cannot be "active" as in doing both music playback and voice calls.
I have a bt headset that handles 2 profiles at once and according to the protocol, if a call comes in, it pauses my ipod and then picks up the call and then resets back to normal after the call.. Either you have to mess with the coding itself or someone has to come up with a workaround, but I do not think that is possible.
Thanks for the reply. I had hoped it might be possible for the Fuze to route stereo audio to one BT profile (A2DP), while non-stereo audio (e.g., phone call, system tones, etc.) to the HFP profile, almost as though the profiles acted as addressable "service ports" (ala HTTP, SMTP, etc.).
But, unlike with TCP/IP, I admit to knowing next to nothing about how the BT stack works and how profiles are applied to certain types of data (or, how data is routed to a given BT association based on profile).

well the thing is.. the fuze can connect to multiple devices simultaneously, but based on the music and voice call order, it is prohibited from doing both at the same time. so therefore when there is no call, the music plays, but when a call comes it, the music is paused and resumed after the call is done. (obviously the call has higher priority here).
My only suggestion is to leave it as it is since it is done so that you do not get distracted while talking and probably while you're driving.
Multitasking is difficult when you're listening to 2 things, responding to 1, and driving at the same time. The more you multitask the less you are able to devote to your main activity (in your case, driving).
but yeah. if you can find someone who can mess with that and allow for both to be active at the same time, then congrats. Otherwise just think of it as a safety measure.
Except that, when I had both the headset and the stereo connected to the Fuze, the music *didn't* pause. It just didn't output (as though the volume was muted). In fact, in both Mortplayer and WMP, it appeared as though it was playing at ~2X the normal rate (just watching the track playback time counter).
I know what you're talking about re: listen to music, call comes in, music pauses, call ends, music resumes. That's the behavior I get when I use the car stereo for both handsfree and A2DP.
The behavior when connected to two different devices seemed to be different, though, so I hoped that might mean it was in fact possible.

yeah I know what you mean, but maybe the fact that it tried to do both tripped it up and so it took the call as a higher priority and focused the data towards the call.

I have almost the exact same configuration, except I am using a Sony car stereo but have a jawbone. What I have to do every time I get in the car is the following.
1. Let my stereo connect to both hands free and wireless headphone services.
2. Open bluetooth settings
3. Manually connect to my Jawbone.
It works great.

Thanks for the reply. I'll give that a shot. I'm not sure that my Pioneer stereo will automatically connect both handsfree and A2DP. I know it will do handsfree automatically. We'll see...

I got myself a bluetooth headset recently. It's Plantronics 855, and I had one with my old phone until I lost it. Never had a problem with it. However, with my Shift, it's started this funny thing where the phone will say the headset is paired but not connected. I'll click it to connect, and it will say "Connected to Media Audio," but it never connects to phone audio. The only solution that I have found is to restart the phone.
Anyone know anything about this, or experience anything similar? Better yet, know a solution?

I'm not sure if this is a headset issue, or Rom issue. Try deleting the headset out of the phone. Power down the phone, then restart the phone. Then try pairing the headset back up, and see if that solves the issue. If not, do you have another cell phone you can pair the headset up with? To check if the issue follows the headset. Then maybe try pairing up another headset to the phone.
I'll give all of that a shot. I do have another phone I can pair with - a Blackberry. I had the headset connected to it for a while, but not long enough to see if this problem happened.

I have an android, thunderbolt phone, and a jabra drive handsfree car speaker and the same thing happens to me.
Sometimes turning bluetooth off and on works other times rebooting the phone works and sometimes nothing works and then a day later it pairs.
I hate blue tooth. A wire always works.
It's a headset AND phone issue. But never had an earpiece connect to the wrong one.

I'm wondering if there is any way to stream audio music and/or FM radio from Windows Phone 7 (I have the HTC HD7) to a non A2DP Bluetooth headset (I have the Jabra EasyGO).
It seems that I can only make and receive calls with it.
I've searched all over the place (and web) and cannot find a way to do that.
The only way is to get a new Bluetooth headset with A2DP capability?
Is there is a workaround, please let me know.

I don't know of one. As far as I know, the Headset profile is mono-channel only (plus another channel for the mic) anyhow, and probably quite low bandwidth, so it would likely sound awful.

I just want, for example, to hear drive directions when I'm driving using navigation software (Navigon) instead of hearing from the loudspeaker.
Hmm... I thought the phone *would* use Headset profile for driving directions. Weird. I find the WP7 implementation to be so bad that I prefer to keep using a 4-year-old Garmin Nuvi instead, but I could have sworn I tested it and it came over the BT (and my car only has Headset, not A2DP). Maybe poke around in Settings?
Alternatively, if your car has Aux In, you could use a ripping cable (double-ended headphone cord, they're very cheap) and then the phone will play instructions over the cable into the car's stereo. This is also a great way to use the phone's music player, including Zune Pass if you have it, to play music in the car (I do this all the time). It uses less battery than having Bluetooth transmitting constantly would anyhow.
