I'm using ES File Explorer to search my SD card for something. I think the memory free-er-upper (task killer?) is set too aggressively.
Using logcat, the window is spammed with the following:

The search percentage stays at 0 and it never seems to find anything because perhaps the search task is getting killed?
People have posted the same issue with getting Facebook to sync... I'm wondering if there's a way to fix it and make the settings a little less aggressive, or perhaps to tell it that if a process uses a massive amount of memory for a couple minutes, then kill it... not immediately like it seems to be doing now.
i think its too weak...although i do agree it clutters logcat
i know where its at, lemme find it
the lowmemkilsker is in sys/module/
I have a solution to this but it won't be released for a few more weeks.
Until then you'll have to echo different settings into it yourself or download an app from the market that will do it for you.

Hi,
First of all I would like to know if I posted this in the correct forum?

I'm running VR12 and I'm using ADW instead of Rosie (Rosie is only there to allow the USB connect dialog to function properly). I installed the FB app from the market and configured it to never update, only manual update when I want it.
How come I'm still seeing these unresolved api.facebook.com messages?
This is with wifi and 3G disabled.
Thx,
Xlilo
I'm noticing the same thing...my phone Awake Time = Up Time with the new FB app...
This is for the new FB app. My problem was still with the old one... And was not a wake lock issue...

All of a sudden, I am getting my battery to discharge in 4 hours. It used to work for almost 2 days with the low voltage kernel.
If I disable Sync and/or the account, the battery dissipation goes back to the 2 days.
When it is chewing through the battery and getting really warm in the process. What I see is this in logcat. Can anyone suggest things I can try. I have no problems going and hacking at Email.apk, if I know where to look

I am having a really lame problem with my nexus s and cm7 rc1. Sometimes when the phone boots up, setcpu does not get superuser permission and just hangs. The superuser app shows that setcpu has root permission, but i know it doesn't in some random instances of booting up because of it not fully loading and just hanging. This is the same behavior of any app waiting for root permssion. Is there a lower level that I can set root permission instead of useing the Superuser app to set it?
After looking at logcat when trying to run setcpu and having it hang...i'm not sure if it is a permissions issue or not:

It seems that the method tryAcquireEglSurface() is ran and has something to do with executing in root.
Can anyone help?
Also, is this the right forum for this or could this go into Development?

I only had the issue with this on bfs kernels. I say reflash the cfs kernel and the run fix permission before you reboot.
Hi everybody,
I successfully flashed my HTC Desire S (unlocked the bootlocker) and installed Cyanogenmod 7.1.0. It has still S-ON with hboot 2.00.*. I used the app SuperOneclick. I also see the app Superuser.
My problem ist, I can't install apps like GPS Share, Gpsfix, Android-Tacho and some german apps (DB Navigator, FahrplanDB, Flinkster, Call a Bike, Öffi). With these german apps, I can look for road map (by train), searching train connection, something like that.
When I try to install these apps, I get the message: "Application not installed"....why is it so? Why can I install some apps, but not these apps?
I hope, you can help me.

Hi.
Are you trying to install from Market, or using the apk files on your sdcard? That information may be helpful...
...from the sdcard and with the "appcenter" (androidpit.de), it's similar to the Market.

Try installing directly from the market and see if it works...
Beamed from the Dark Side using xda premium.
I don't like the Market...I haven't got a account and I really don't want to register me. Is there another option?
Download the apk off the net, can't remember the site though, but you can get the apps off some sites that sort of index the un cracked apk's.
Although the chance's of getting cracked apps are pretty high.
Then install on your phone or using adb.
Have you activated "unknown sources" in settings? Without the phone will not allow you to install non-market-apps
Settings / applications or apps / tick "Unknown sources"
(in german Einstellungen / Anwendungen oder Apps / "Unbekannte Quellen")
As far as I remember in CM this option is turned off out of the box. Apps from Androidpit should work fine since they only purchase market (or better "Play store") apps.

Yes, it's activated.
I can install apps from the market like android app manager, barcode scanner+, business calendar, cache cleaner, camera zoom and so on, but not these apps above...
Is there perhaps a problem with the system settings, that I have S-ON and not S-OFF?
Maybe, is there a logfile, where I can look after the errors?
Is there perhaps a problem with the signature or certificate of the apps?
I also tried some markets to install these apps...but always, I get the message: "Application not installed".
Here is an extract of the logfile (with Log Collector), when I try to install the app "DB Navigator":

I hope this log can help...
I tried to install these apps via Computer (adb shell gpsfix.akp).
I get the following error "INSTALL_FAILED_MISSING_SHARED_LIBRARY".
Is there perhapbs a problem, that I haven't installed google apps? There are no google apps on my phone...
I think, I know the problem and could solve my problem:
All these apps, that I can't install, need some google apps (mostly google maps)...what a bad luck
