How to root Telus HTC One X - AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL

i was able to successfully root a telus htc one x, i went to htc dev and did the unlock bootloader other supported devices,
then used this for recovery http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1777773
then took the su from here http://downloadandroidrom.com/file/HTCOneX/root/OneXRoot.zip
then flashed it via recovery and viola magic! it was rooted!!!!
I own a evo 4g lte but my friend has a a telus htc one x that i was figured how to do this one.
I don't take any credit for the coding of files or anything. This isn't a step by step guide, maybe if i'm able to meet up with my friend sometime soon I'll post pics and make a guide, this is just a quick how-to as I wasn't able to find a how to for the telus version.

Hmm sounds the same as the rogers way. Provably could just merge the two couldnt you?

I posted a How-To guide in the general section. Step by step instruction, should be simple enough.

Interested in a toolkit for the phone?

Hopping around the latest HTC phones. Made about 7 toolkits or so. Looking to add you guys into the fun.
Look at my signature for the examples. Do not look at the MT4GS or Sensation since they do not have the updated UI (yet).
Current Plans: Update all my toolkits which will take 15 mins - 3 hours per toolkit.
Make a Toolkit for the HTC One V.
Possibly for the Droid Incredible 4G LTE and Evo 4G LTE
If you guys are interested, then you guys will have one after the phone is released.
Let me know and tell me how you feel about it!
Also, if you guys agree, make my life easier and add all the links for kernels/recoveries here. I have enough on my plate with all my other toolkits and wanna make this as painless for me as possible!
Of course we are interested! Always nice to get some more development
ATM we only have CWM Touch, and no custom kernels since we just got bootloader unlock a few days back and HTC still hasn't released the kernel source code.
However if you wanted to add One Click root and One Click CID Changer it would be appreciated!

I'll see what I can add in! Is the HTC unlock the legit way or is it the modded way of switching your CID to the Rogers model?
It is the modded way, we change our CID to either a rogers one or super Cid
I think this would be great
Yes, yes and yes! This would be amazing.

Would it include root for 1.85?

[Q] Noob question regarding firmware

Hey I just picked up the HTC One X today from Rogers and I'm in love <3. However, I must first make it sexy (Root, unlock bootloader etc.) and in order to do this I need some knowledge of something i'm sure everyone knows. Basically in the forums I saw some programs that offered a root via a tool or an unlocked bootloader, but its listed under a title containing the numbers 1.85, is that referring to the firmware? If so how can i check the firmware on my phone I cant find any number like that :S Thank you and i'm sure this is one hell of a noob question. Thanks for the help in advance ^_^
Settings, about, software information, more, build number.
The build number is the firmware I believe.

Thanks for your help, my build number is 1.73.631. 1 CL54373 release-keys.
Can I still use these tools to root my phone and unlock the boot loader?
Yep, just read some of the stickies guides.

I have the Rogers htc one x as well. Let me know what you did to attain root, recovery and bootloader unlocked when you're done. =)
Thank you I shall attempt to load a custom rom on my phone, ill take it as a self birthday gift. Thanks for the help

Sure ill let you know if I decide to do it, I'm still kind of scared I had the HTC amaze and panache which I rooted and s-off but I had an sd card slot which saved me countless times with this phone there is none and it seems really scary.

Wrong section.
I also have the Telus variant of the HOX and would love to see a root come out for 1.91. If any devs see this, I would be more than willing to help in any way.

Are we sure there is ONE XL in the UK? not keen on moving it without knowing exactly.
Actually yes, i have had one in here before, but let's be sure then ....
@ the OP, please put your phone in the.bootloader and tell us what's written on top. Does it say EVITA or ENDEAVORU ?

Ah yes, then you have to go to the at&t rogers HTC one xl forum ... of flash something from here you might end up with a bricked phone. I suggest that whiskey will move this to the correct forum.
Maybe this can help you

It's a link to root tools for your phone in the correct forum

Hey buddy
I also have the UK One XL
Rotting is easy, use the HTC method, it's in this forum just have a quick look
I currently run ViperXL rom but any rom in the Rogers forum here should work
Also my hboot is 1.14 and for me this means no boot/kernel flashing works through recovery so I have to use fastboot
So quick someup:
Use HTC method to unlock bootloader
Fastboot flash recovery (I use twrp)
Flash rom in recovery
If rom fails to boot:
Fastboot flash boot (will be in main directory of the rom you downloaded)
Good luck and have fun buddy
EDIT: Just created a new UK HTC One XL Information/Guide thread, check it out here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=35518374

[Q] Clarification for rooting Rogers HTC One X

I have a Rogers HTC One X. I've looked around here a bit to familiarize myself with how to root, unlock, and ROM my phone, and I think I'm just about ready. Unfortunately I can't figure out which set of instructions to follow. Most things seem to be directed at AT&T users with a specific hboot.
I am currently bootloader locked and have 2.14 hboot.
Just pointing me at the right thread would be great, thanks.
I wrote a guide in original android dev section. How to root etc non AT&T phone
