Hello i make a mistake and my tablet is showing always the smartq logo. Can you give me an active link for your rom. I thing that could help.
Anyway thank you very much
hi this is a tutorial of how i got from froyo (android version 2.2) to Jellybean (android version 4.3) without using a computer
ok so here are a few things you will need:
1x micro sd card (incase your data doesnt work to transfer files from computer or other device to phone)
1x a way to use micro sd card in computer (or other device)
Roms:
1x GB rom (the one i used is here)
1x ICS Rom (i used cm9 by entropy found here)
1x JB Rom + gapps (and i used scotts unoffical cm10.2 found here)
1x 3e Recovery (you can find this here and here is a video showing you how to use it)
***APP***
ROOT BROSWER ( or the one mentioned in the video)
ROM MANAGER
FRAMAROOT
ok so lets get to it... oh yeah
**************************** DISCLAIMER**********************
I TAKE NO CREDIT FOR THESE FILES AND APPS AND I ALSO AM NOT RESPONISIBLE IF YOU END UP
GETTING A REALLY EXPENSIVE BRICK NOR IS ANYONE ELSE BUT YOUR SELF
-----------------------------------------------------------TUTORIAL----------------------------------------------
ok download the files and install the apps from above
have them on your infuse (by any means you can i had to download them on my s3 and transfer them via sdcard)
ok
STEP 1:
- use framaroot to root your devicejust open it and press aragorn( i assume all infuses will have the same exploit name)
- reboot
STEP 2:
- open rom manager and click install recovery and select galaxy i9000 (they have the same partitions)
itll download a zip
STEP 3:
- follow the video for the 3e recovery installation posted above^
STEP 4:
- reboot revocery but powering off the device and pressing and holding vol up and down and power, once you see samsung come up release power
(once in recovery it should say 3e recovery at the top)
- select install update zip (vol up and down move from one item to the next and power selects it)
(your screen should go blank then come back up in clock work mod recovery)
- once in clock work mod recovery go to wipe data (say yes)
- then wipe cache (say yes) then go to advanced and wipe davlic cache (say yes)
- go back and go into mounts and storage and format system (say yes)
-go back select install zip from sdcard find the zip for the GB rom and select it and select yes ==HURRAY YOU JUST FLASHED A ROM==
- go back and select reboot device
STEP 5:
- once your phone boots up and is loaded go back into recovery (via three button method)
- then repeat the wipes and formatting
- then go to install zip from sdcard, and flash the ICS rom (warning you will get rainbow recovery, but you should still be able to navigate it)
- go to advanced and reboot recovery and flash it again
- once the second flash it done reboot device
FROM THIS POINT ON PLEASE REMOVE THE MICRO SDCARDS FROM THE DEVICE
STEP 6: (for now on the wipes and formating will be called wiping)
- once the device has booted in to cm9 reboot recovery again
- you will still have rainbow recovery but go and wipe it again
- and go and flash the JB Rom (if its one of scotts the first time the flash will fail just flash again)
- after the second flash it should auto boot into recovery (where you will see that it is fixed and no more rainbow)
- flash the JB rom once more and this time flash the gapps as well
REBOOT!
AND THERE YOU GO FROM FROYO (2.2) TO JB (4.3)
IF THIS HAS HELPED OR YOU FIND THIS INFORMATIVE PLEASE PRESS THAT THANKS BUTTON
GUIDE: HOW TO INSTALL/UPDATE ROM WITHOUT STATUS 7 ERRORS
p.s this guide is totally noob friendly and to the best of what I could explain. But then again, I don't mind replying to kindergarten-noob level queries either.
Okay, this is for those who face these Status 7 Errors, don't panic, I found a partial-but-working fix. Your phone is not corrupted. Just follow these steps to get out:
Method 1:
1) You can simply quit Recovery Mode and go back to using your ROM as it is (that is only if you haven't Wiped Data).
2) Once you're phone's booted, download ROM Manager from the Play Store
3) Using USB Mass Storage, copy the ROM (zip) file to your internal drive.
4) Then (obviously) unplug/turn-off the USB Mass Storage mode and go to the ROM Manager app.
5) Click on Install ROM from SD Card (which means internal over here, idk why) and select the ROM. Ignore step 6 if you don't want to backup.
6) This is optional, but if you wish to come back to this ROM later click on Backup
7) Click on wipe-data if you're upgrading to another ROM (from CM10.1>CM10.2 or CM10.2>CM11) or ignore this step if you're flashing a new build (nightly/alpha)
8) The ROM will be flashed and you're good to go. If you're upgrading to a new nightly/alpha build, ignore step 8.
ONLY IF YOU'RE UPDATING TO ANOTHER ROM:
Just before the bootanimation, be ready to take out your battery and go to recovery mod with the combo keys (Volume Up+Power) and flash Gapps. (Preferably from this)
Method 2only works if you are updating to another nightly/build of the same ROM)
4) Reboot to Recovery
5) Flash the zip and reboot to recovery, again, and flash Gapps. (Preferably from this)
Oh and make sure to go to this thread and thank them for the gapps

I followed this guide [GUIDE] MAC Rooting Nexus S (http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-s/general/guide-mac-rooting-nexus-s-t878446) until point
6) Open ROM Manager and choose "Flash ClockworkMod Recovery". At this point you are all set .

As Rom manager rebbot doesn't work, I installed Root checker and it told me thet the phone was not rooted properly. So I decided to follow another guide [HACK] Superboot Method for 2.3.2 (GRH78C) (http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-s/development/hack-superboot-method-2-3-2-grh78c-t927838).
Now the phone doesn't work! In other words when I press the power button the Google logo screen remains and Android doesn't start.
If i hold volume up and power button I gain the following:
Code:
Fastboot mode
Product name: Hearing
Hw version - rev 52
Bootloader version - I902XXLC2
Baseband version - I902XXKI1
Carrier info - EUR
Serial number - 3035...
Lock state - unlocked
and I can choose:
Code:
[LIST]
[*]Reboot bootloader
[*]Reboot
[*]Recovery
[*]Power off
[/LIST]
I think that the problem is that the phone is looking for the file "install-recovery.sh" that I renamed into "install-recovery.sh.old".

I'm going to put it step by step using the Nexus root tool kit (NRTK)
1. download a flashable recovery of your choice (CWM 6.0.4.3 Philz 6.19.3 or TWRP 2.7.0 or higher on all these)
2. download the kitkat rom you want to install
3. download the Gapps that match the rom you chose ( if a 4.4.2 rom get a 4.4.2 gapps if 4.4.4 then 4.4.4)
4. boot your phone into bootloader / fastboot
5. connect your phone to your pc (it should recognize it)
6. open your NRTK and go to the advanced section and choose to temporarily boot custom recovery (this will be TWRP 2.6.3)
7. ON YOUR PHONE select mount usb
8. ON THE COMPUTER open the device/folder for your phone and create a new file on your SD card ( I called mine " !zip " this kept it ontop of the list of files) and copy the recovery, rom, and kernel to this folder.
9. ON YOUR PHONE unmount usb, return to the main menu screen and select install, find that folder you made and select the recovery zip that you copied and swype to install
10. after it installs (10seconds) return to the main menu, select reboot then reboot recovery ( you may get a warning about not having a rom or su, ignore both)
11. now you are on your KK compatible recovery (nearly there)
12. No matter which recovery you chose find the section to wipe or format your phone (DO NOT WIPE OR FORMAT YOUR SD CARD !!!! this will wipe everything off your phone and may make it hard / impossible to restore) and ONLY wipe or format system, cache, and dalvik partitions. On philz there is an option to wipe to install a new rom (this is a onestep version of the above)
13. return to the main menu page and select install, choose your rom and install, then your gapps and install ( if on TWRP you can select both by choosing the option to add a zip to flash)
14. the moment of truth, now that you have flashed both rom and gapps, you need to return to the main menu and select reboot and reboot system...
15. assuming you did all of this issue free, you are free to enjoy your phone..
*if you don't have your phone recognized by your computer / NRTK, you need to follow the instructions for NRTK to get the correct drivers for your computer
**if you are not clear on what you are doing, ask before you make a mistake
***Your custom rom will be pre-rooted, so no need to try to root it
(Don't forget to press the thanks button )
