ShadowGun Freeze - Asus Transformer TF700

Has anyone had any issues playing ShadowGun?
If I reboot my tablet and play ShadowGun it plays just fine, however if I've been using my tablet for awhile and have several application open in the background when I play ShadowGun it freezes up after the first or second shot is fired. You can still hear the game playing through the speakers, but the screen jumps back and forth stuck on the last couple of frames.
I had this same issue on the Prime and I was hoping not to see it on the Infinity too. Could this be a memory issue?
Thanks.

Try Shadowgun THD for Tegra 3, it even runs on power saving mode on my 700 and no freeze whatsoever.

That's what I have. I was excited to get download it and play it on my Prime.
Maybe if I uninstall it and re-install? Such a big app...

Memory Issues?
To follow up with this issue...
After several days using my tablet, Google Mail stated hanging up and crashing. I tried running ShadowGun and it would still freeze up right after the first shot or two. On a hunch, I added the Task Manger widget to my home screen. There were a lot of applications running and even though I'm against task managers, I clicked the "One Click Clean" button. I immediately went back into ShadowGun and it played flawlessly. The Gmail app was working fine again too.
I've changed the setting in the developer section to only allow 4 background processes at most, and I haven't seen the problem since. Could this be an issue where the Infinity isn't clear up memory when it's needed?
Any thoughts?

Do you by any chance have Chainfire3D installed?

No I do not.
Basically just ShadowGun and Dark Meadows.

I have the same problem with some games (ShadowGun and TinTin, for instance) and had it on my Prime as well. At the very beginning of my TF700 ownership, I installed TinTin on it and it played without a problem. I then started installing a lot of programs that I had on my TF201 and after a while I returned to TinTin and it had the jumping frame problem again.
I believe that it is some program that I installed after the first few days, but unfortunately don't know which one. I'll try your task manager trick to see if it (temporarily at least) solves my problem, and if so, I'll try to investigate which task is responsible (if any one particular task is the culprit).
Nice to hear of another person that has experienced the same problem I have...

[Q] Audio Problems

Anyone else get a loud static sometimes when they open an app or video? I randomly will get static instead of the audio of an app or video sometimes, it can simply be fixed with a reboot. But was wondering if this was a common problem and if anyone has a fix for it?
I have seen this in YouTube.
I also get audio quitting, almost always after I've run Angry Birds at some point. As you mentioned, a reboot seems to fix it.
(VEGAn 5.1)
Idk if its my speakers becous I have opened my Tablet a few times, But I also somtimes get Broken sound or crackling randomly. But it Randomly goes away too. Also using Vegan 5.1, Waiting for a More stable Cyanogen 7.
I am still running the stock TNT, and mine has been doing it since I got it. I did buy it used on eBay, but seemed as though who ever had it before used it once maybe.
I experience all three of these issues from time to time:
sound totally dropping out sometimes, happens while I am using the tablet.
A loud constant SHHHHHHHHH sometimes, happens when I wake up the table from sleep --especially if my son put the tablet to sleep without closing Angry Birds.
Random crackling sounds sometimes, happens a few minutes after I have used the tablet, single-pressed the power button to turn off the screen, and set it down.
And I'm running TNTLite 4.1 on a totally clean, cleared, wiped, and partitioned install. So maybe it is a hardware problem?
I've asked this question before--either nobody knows or it's just a really stupid questions (possible as I don't know a lot about Android)--but if this was happening on my PC, I would update the driver...is there such a thing as a driver update?
In Short Not Really.
I am having similar problems and have a question open at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=916971.
Can you post a logcat when you experience the static problem?
I am relieved to find I'm not the only one with this problem, but I wonder if I should return and exchange it while I can.
I also have noticed that this happens after not using a task manager to kill everything after playing Angry Birds, but it did just occur minutes ago on an email notification. Angry Birds had not been opened during this boot.

Galaxy Tab continually pauses during gameplay

Guys,
I have a very weird problem that started a couple of days back with my Galaxy Tab.
I was running a game (game name does not matter as the problem happens in all games) when all of a sudden the 'Pause' screen came into effect.
After hitting any key to continue it played for around a further 20 seconds then it happened again... and again... and so on.
Some games simply pause whilst others will flip back to the reload the game screen then flip to the press continue to play screen.
Whatever it is it only effects games.
I have tried several reboots and looked at all my recently installed/updated Applications but can not ascertain what is causing the issue.
Further, whilst browsing through my installed Apps using the App 'System Panel' (to see if I could locate the offending App) I also noticed when I scrolled down through my installed Apps every few seconds the list would jump back to the beginning of the list.
No matter how many times I scrolled down after a few seconds it repeatedly jumped back to the beginning.
After about a minute or so it stopped doing this.
It's almost as if something is paging the system every so many seconds ~ which may also explain why when playing games it drops the game into Pause mode.
Anyway, the Galaxy Tab is a stock Tab unaltered. It is not rooted nor had a ROM change.
At this stage I do not wish to update the ROM nor perform a factory reset.
As a surgeon you investigate the cause of the problem and not simply give the patient a tablet to mask the pain and send them on their way..... I wish to do the same with the Tab, find out what is causing the problem and not just do a system reset.
Any ideas ladies & gentlemen?
Same problem
I have the same problem on my stock ROM tab.
It's nerve wrecking to reinstall everything again.

As the OP that reported this I feel for you.
I have no idea what caused the problem nor do Samsung.
All I can say is I switched the phone off one night because it was playing up that bad and used my Galaxy S that evening.
The following morning I switched the phone back on again and mysteriously the problem simply vanished.
All I can think is whatever was causing the problem must have been memory resident.
Killing the phone for a long period must have cleared the issue.
I have not come back and reported it is fixed yet as I want to do further tests just to make sure it has gone but more importantly try to find out what caused it in the first place.
In a way although I do feel for you I also am pleased someone else has the problem.
This proves it is not a totally isolated case and may crop up again.
The tests I am currently trying are with the external SD card.
Do you have an external SD card and did/does the problem happen only with games installed to the card?
I have found that all but one of the games were installed in this way.
The one game not installed to SD that when run pauses behaves in a slightly different manner in that it does not pause every 20 seconds or so but every 1 minute or so.
I am beginning to think the problem may be something to do with timing, memory and the external SD card.

[Q] FPSe

Anyone using it?
If so, what settings do you use to reduce choppiness in games?
I'm currently using it, even with the OpenGL plug in, and have no issues. Some games need SPUSYNC turned on, but other than that, I've left it how it came.

Gran turismo 2 mostly, some syphon filter, doom, carmageddon, abes odyssey, crash team racing.
I used to play digimon world and ff7 on my stock HTC Legend (!). I think I turned on frame skip and I turned audio off. Both games where pretty playable for such a low end device.
Any ideas why im not able to get fpse to work ? I have the bios downloaded and setup. Have tried to do nothing and it wouldnt work. Tried to mess with settings wit by no luck either. What settings do you guys currently use ? Any help is appreciated.
What exactly do you mean by "doesn't work"? Can you load up games but they freeze, do you get a black screen?

I can't load games. I can choose the game, and it starts to load, but then it will either go back to choose iso or will go to home screen. Same thing happens on my EVO 4g, I have been able to load the game on my phone using PSX4droid, but am not able to hit the menu button in game. It crashes the app if I do. Obviously not the right forum for that issue though . I have tried with no sound, and sound, have tried with different video options selected and not selected. I have done the save default config to ensure everything saves.
I tried playing the game in portrait view with Crash Bandicoot 2, and have been able to get the sony/pS load screens but then freezes. I have turned off this feature and it still does it.
Have you specified a bios? As far as I remember the emulator also works without one, but is less stable.

Yep, have downloaded the same bios that my phone is using, as well as others, even downloaded an app that set up the bios for me. Can't get FPse to work on either phone or tablet. PSX4droid works for phone, somewhat, and as previous mentioned will load the sony/playstation screen but wont' go any further. I am running 4.0.3 on Tablet, can't seem to get JB update working either....

Shield Tablet K1: Asphalt 8 Freezes System Twice

Got my K1 tablet two days. Updated to January MM OTA update. Played Asphalt 8 a couple of times (graphics are fantastic) but the game crashed the whole MM system yesterday, causing me to invoke a force reboot.
The first crash occurred when trying to connect to my Google Play Games. It was loading/connecting and froze. I waited a minute but no joy. Forced reboot and game was smooth again.
Five hours later, while playing Asphalt 8: Iceland Classic. Nothing fancy going on and CRASH! Same thing: force reboot then smoothes as usual.
Tried to find crash logs but no luck.
Help appreciated.
Any more information than that? Are you trying to play said game on really slow sdcard from a few years ago? How did you treat the adoptable storage? Do you have anything else in the background that might interfere, i.e facebook crap? Have you tried factory reset after said update from 5.1.1->6.0.1? The list is endless!
It's rather hard for people to read your mind without more info than "my car sometimes stops working, tell me what is wrong with it?!"

Apps Being Unresponsive or Hanging

Hi guys. Everything is great with my v20. The problem is that there are certain apps or games which I use, although fully updated which stop responding after a few hours. There is this one game which I usually leave open to farm on its own on auto. Eventually it stops responding to touches on the screen even if the sprites on the app itself keep moving. It comes up with a notification prompt to close the app, wait for the game to respond, or send feedback I have to reboot the phone to get it to work. Anyone else experiencing this kind of behavior and how did you remedy it. I already tried turning off power saving mode and the game optimizer to no avail.

Nothing can be done, you just have to wait for the app to update, although two apps I use xe.com and tsum tsum is having problem it's still usable.
It's a android 7 thing, so it's a waiting game.:fingers-crossed:
Most likely the Android 7 being the culprit, just watch for updates it would seem that there are some changes under the hood that are causing compatibility problems.

Yep. Probably nougat issue or memory leak problem. I'm leaning towards nougat. Luckily I've rarely had the problem.
Thanks guys. I kinda figured out it was a nougat problem since it's not consistent with all apps and just 2 apps in specific.
