[Info] Possible fix for I/O issues - Asus Transformer TF700

Here's a nice thread about a possible solution for I/O issues/bottleneck.The topic is for the Transformer Prime but i guess the devs in here will also found interesting infos.

What issues? I don't experience any issues anymore with the .26 update. I am rooted and unlocked, but I haven't done anything to improve on that part. In .22 it was quite necessary, but ASUS has done a good job with .26.

+1
It's been pretty OK since the update.
And I don't think that moving all data to an external microSD card is such a good idea, I'd rather depend on internal storage, I want my SD to be totally removable.
I'd like to know more about this SQL patch though, but they don't provide much info really.
BTW, there's a typo in your link (no colon after http).

I agree with you, my tablet also work quiet nice with .26 but if you look at the benchmarks the internal storage on our tablet is very slow compared with other old and new devices.
With the above kernel mode we could use external storage for /DATA and /CACHE partition and gain a substantial speed increase.

Ok, so this simply disables fsync, not something I'll be doing anytime soon, at least until the reboot issues are completely solved (I'll be happy with 30 days uptime).
Plus, this is not the greatest idea on a device that had some I/O issues, as it seems sync is even more needed with it.

I don't think the infinity needs an external SD card, it's fast enough and even scoring better than his prime with external SD card.
This is my stock infinity:

That's not really testing the part that fails horribly though. Where our storage performs miserably is random writes. It's around 40-50 IOPS and under 200kB/s. Absolutely ridiculous for a flagship device.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=29660695&postcount=25

I'm amazed that folks are happy with the performance on .26. It is better than .22 but performance is still pretty terrible for me compared to my other devices. If you guys use Browser2ram or disable fsync in sqlite you'll realize just how slow this thing still is. In my opinion, buying a fast microSD card(harder than you think for random access) and moving /data and /cache is the best option.

I am noticing pretty slow browsing, pages load terribly slowly. I've tried chrome, Firefox and built in browser. While I agree there has been some improvement, i still get pretty noticeable stutters in ICS.
I mean this tablet has pretty much the best specs on the market...quad core, clocked @ 1.6 and a gig of ram with a substantial internal hd. It would seem to me that there is still a lot of untapped horse power.
That said, early adopters of new technology should often expect some quirks at the beginning, i know i did. Asus has always been great about getting updates out fast for other hardware i have purchased.
I personally feel that with a little patience, we will not only get our fixes and jelly bean, but some great devs making new ROM'S that will really showcase the performance we can expect from this device.

But it's not getting better with the partition moving?! Haven't seen a single Androbench screenshot which shows a big improvement on random writes.

Thats what I misunderstood :silly: So when moving to a fast sd card won't help - maybe a software fix can help there to boost it up :fingers-crossed:

Im not complaining cause i fricking love this tablet but shouldnt these issues been caught during development and testing by Asus? I understand a few small issues may slip through but not something as glaring as some of the I/O problems. Did they not download and install an app while multitasking? lol. Dont get me wrong i am in no way bashing them and would still buy this tablet if i could do it over again.... I'm just not very familiar with the [email protected] process for something like this. Do they just accept a few flaws in order to bring it to market as soon as possible and work hard to push updates?

To be honest this is 1 million dollars question but only Asus (QA department maybe?) can answer. Anyway they already did a good job with the latest update and compared with previous firmwares the tablet is much better and the lag issue many users seems to be gone.
The bad part is the internal memory overall performance because imo that is just poor hardware quality and you don't expect to have such a poor hardware on a high-end device like that.
So if Asus doesn't prove the contrary (but i hope they do) this become a pure hw design flaw and there's not much we could do about it... we will have a nice "bottleneck" on this tablet.

The poor random I/O performance is not limited to the Infinity. The entire line of Transformer tablets is plagued with this issue. Most likely Asus is just making a poor choice when they choose their emmc chips. Part of the problem is that emmc is the same stuff that goes into a sdcard and sdcards are generally designed with fast sequential performance with little regard for IOPs and random performance since most sdcards end up in cameras where most files are 1MB+ in size and you're usually only writing one file at a time.

I think Dees_Troy is correct, we just don't really have a full fledged SSD controller in tablets yet
The controller is more like the first gen ssd controllers that we had for sdd hdds
I guess with software optimization by ordering as much as possible the access and maybe caching more in the normal ram it could be a bit better
But in the end i think it is just pure hardware, we don't have Marvel or Sandforge ssd level controllers yet in tablets, that would make a bit more expensive and power hungry i guess.
Verstuurd van mijn ASUS Transformer Pad TF700T met Tapatalk

The sad part is my laptop HDD (not SSD) has 10 times Infinity's random write and one would expect more from a flash chip.

Is your Web browsing extremely slow?

Everything on my 300 works excellent except web browsing. Does anyone else have this issue? It's getting to the point to where I want to sell it!
Web pages seem to load slower than on my phone. Has anyone else noticed this?
Is it a problem with the Nvidia chipset? Or is it something Asus can fix with a software update?
I am hoping I don't have a lemon.
I have been having this same issue, actually. I was just talking to the co-worker who sold me this tablet over the Prime and was expressing my concern with the really slow web browsing. Disclaimer, though, that I'm using Google Chrome to browse, not the stock browser. I was encouraged to try Opera and other browsers before condemning this device to slow browsing, so perhaps that would help us both?
I'm also in the process of rooting mine so -hopefully- the custom ROM's I install will have some performance tweaks.
Browsing seemed slow in both stock and Firefox. Tried Chrome and it seamed slow too.
On Boat browser now and it is really snappy. About as fast as my desktop. I really like the ability to import bookmarks from HTML files. Have Firefox synced to my desktop but like Boat better.
software tune up
I'm pretty sure that they just don't use the whole 100% tegra3 can give yet.
From my experience the custom + open source based ROMs usually perform better than stock.
this is probably due to slow IO performance ( internal storage)
look at the prime forums , prime has the same problem.
cfq io scheduler makes it better (kernel mod), browser2ram fixes this because it does not cache on disk but in ram..
asus is looking into this but most people believe that asus uses cheap/slow memory chips/controllers....

I was reading about that. From what I have heard it works really well. I also heard through some rumors that ASUS will be addressing this in their next update. Although it is just rumors and who knows how long until the next update.
What I find to be a problem is the freezing and hiccups which occur on large webpages. Frequently I'll see the 'This program has stopped responding' message, forcing me to click on the wait button. I really hope a firmware fix will address this - it appears on all browsers for me. My Galaxy Note is far faster than my TF300 at loading sites. It's very frustrating.

Yep the IO performance sucks, hopefully we will get custom kernels soon, or asus will fix this who knows.
Yep just rooted and downloaded the apk. It's almost necessary. Chrome runs so much better right off the bat. I will say though that you do lose all your previous browser settings but it's 100% worth it.

Yea i hope asus finds a way fix this , some improvements can be made with a different io scheduler such as cfq however this will not improve raw speed, which is still terrible.
The sqlite benchmark shows us extreme bad performance especially on the 1000 inserts, 70 seconds where other devices are done in less than 1 second. I find it hard to believe that this is caused by memory chips itself , we are talking about hundred times worse?"

Guys. Thanks for the help. I have only tried Boat browser so far and I have noticed it is a bit faster than all the other browsers I've tried so far. Not perfect by any means, but better.
I will try those other methods later this week.
What are the odds Asus fixes this issue?
How come there aren't more complaints about this in the TF300 forum? Or does this not affect every tablet?

Has anyonec changed the performance settings to Performance Mode and noticed a difference? Seemed like I did.
On some web pages I can swipe the page, and then count to two before it actually moves. Then swipe again nothing. Then a couple of seconds later the page moves!
Like the web page is stuck in jello. Really Frustrating.
I kind of hope that the Transformer Infinity uses something other than Tegra 3 as has been suggested. Not sure I want to take a chance on another Tegra 3 device just yet.

second best to do is to use the cfq scheduler which is included in certain custom kernels.
and further lets wait for asus, my guess is that they will use cfq scheduler in the near future ...

Terrible I/O - TF700t

Got it for 4 days now. Terrible speeds when downloading content not because of the WiFi but the storage.
It is very difficult to use any torrent client as the whole tablet stalls. Very difficult to install big games as MC3.
Tried both default and rooted, changed the IO scheduler - no big difference. Copying files from PC takes a LOT of time as well. Seq read 17 MB/s , seq write 4 MB/s ...
The really bad thing is that the whole tablet becomes unusable - even the mouse pointer does not work when there is a long IO operation going on.
Any thoughts since the problem is not solved for the whole Transformer family?

Try plugging a USB disk to your dock or use the SD card. Works faster for me.
Some benchmarks ..

I'm getting similar results in the benchmarks mostly, so let's consider it a standard for the Infinity
I would be worried, however, about 0.5 MB/ write speed! If you get it constantly and even with sio scheduler, I would definitely consider having the device replaced on warranty terms. Something like 10x that speed could be considered a (lower end of) standard on TF700.
---------- Post added at 06:44 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:34 PM ----------
Try different (benchmarking) programs however. Androbench has been said to give false results on some devices.
I've done a simple test using SD Card Tester now (500MB test file), in balanced mode it's somewhere near 8 MB/s write* and 18MB/s read for the internal storage on average, and 5 MB/s W + 17 MB/s R for the microSD card (AFAIR the best results were for the full-size SD card, something about 15/30, but I'm without the dock at the very moment).
Hope this helps.
* it starts with 17, but then decreases because of the numerous lags (happening all the time when writing bigger files on the Infinity, sadly)
---------- Post added at 06:48 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:44 PM ----------
Ah, and don't compare it to phones
See http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/0...hmark-11-modern-devices-compared-in-13-tests/ as reference point (originally posted by shinzz).
Noticed this major problem as well.
Basically it can be triggered by uploading lots of files using wifi to the tf700 running airdroid. Then using the stock music player it will lag like hell...
Then again, if you run airdroid on another android device and the launch a internet browser (either stock or dolphin) connect to that device running airdroid, basically becomes totally slow but this maybe caused by the browser itself....
Not to mention the kernel constantly clocks the processor in range 100MHz - 500GHz this further, push I/O to even more constrained.
The CPU speeds can be changed by using different CPU governor. In my opinion the default "interactive" governor actually performs pretty well (performance/battery life).
It has been referenced in several other threads that, indeed, the I/O of the TF700T is absolutely abysmal. That 500 kB/s is really, really low, though. I have the lags all the time, and several movies files have stopped playing many times during my (long) commute viewing tries... I really hope that custom ROMs can better this by a fair margin. though I don't know to what extent it has been the case with the Prime's similar issues. Gotta go and nose around in the AndroWook thread a bit...
Full-size SD card in the dock: 20 MB/s write (worth noticing it actually started with 45 MB/s, which is the card's limit, so the lags take in again), 12 MB/s read, same test, pretty weird, as I got 30 MB/s read there before.
With 2GB file I got 15-16 MB/s write & 10 MB/s read on SD, not sure why reading speed dropped that much, but I think I tested it on NTFS a few days before and now it's re-formatted to FAT32.
Edit: So I've just tried the last test with NTFS-formatted SD card and it showed 16/10, so no clue why it dropped this much since my earlier test a few days ago!
I didn't format my card as it came pre-formatted. I'm going to empty it and format it in device and see if that helps. (The card that has been in my SGS2 for about a year performs very badly.... no, let me rephrase that... doesn't perform at all in the TF700T. Let's see if we can get it to shine a bit.
Don't you think somehow caching is involved as the file copying goes steady and then stalls and seems to stop for a whileand then goes again. As if a buffer fills in and one has to wait for it to be persisted in the storage?

Yes, I do think it has to do with (shared?) caching, and yes, the most frustrating aspect of it all is that the damn thing just hangs up sometimes.

2) What are the chances of this being hardware related, and thus never getting fixed?

1) They're probably quite busy with the Nexus at the moment. Furthermore, seeing that the Prime suffers from very much alike I/O issues that haven't been fixed as far as I have been able to find out, they probably don't care as much as we would like.
2) No one can tell at the moment, but let's keep our fingers crossed that it is software-related and thus fixable by either ASUS -- eventually -- or by custom ROMs. It seems that some custom ROMs for the Prime have significantly improved on its I/O (e.g., AndroWook).

but can a software update fix the camera clicking issue. i would guess that has to do with the hardware.
Possible Solution
If the I/O errors are linked to the minfree then I think the v6 SuperCharger could help. I have posted a link in the Infinity Development thread since it can also be embedded into a ROM.

Could anyone please follow ganja's lead as well and report back in here? Either it's wishful thinking or it does indeed help quite a bit. I suspect I'm just going crazy, since I did get a few errors in the script's execution -- I have been unable to correct all of them, but maybe some people more knowledgeable than me can see if this actually works (and what the fixes, if at all necessary would be).
The installation tutorial referenced in the thread ganja linked to in his other post is a nice guide to have. Again, seeking in video and such seems to be a lot snappier (almost instantly). Opening QuickPic (a gallery app) in a folder with HD wallpapers is really fast (I had never opened that particular folder before, so it had to render all thumbnails).
I'm not sure if I'm just losing my mind and seeing ghosts. I'll hold off on that judgment for now.
Thanks, ganja!

Now here's the catch why would Asus uses a such old kernel revision while there are latest and current and stable versions available.
Since 2.6 has been a deprecated branch and it is no longer being developed why has Asus create a hassle for its own brand name, why would Asus put a old kernel which the base code was release in Dec/2003. And to quote from wiki...
17 December 2003 - Linux 2.6.0 was released (5,929,913 lines of code).

Why would Asus created a Tablet which features current H/W designs and still uses the old 2.6 deprecated / unsupported kernel???!
This is what puzzles me.
If you do a bit of research you will find this email from Linus himself stating that the old branch is ___in THE PAST___.
Quote again...
As of 2012, the Linux 3.2 release had 14,998,651 lines of code

So what has Asus being doing was designing the HW along with the Linux kernel through out the past several years and came up with this solution ?? Would rather amazes its customers.
Anyways what I'm trying to get the message across is that Asus should have being kept up with technology and bit of quality control and the design.
Edit:
Also this kernel would be insecure and should be exploitable...
Nevertheless a device based on 2.6 would be suspect-able to security risks.

Is this tablet really this slow and buggy? Worth rooting?

I just bought this device as a toy and a test as a computer tablet. I found it to be slow and buggy. I do notice that in browsing heavy pages like the real facebook page it IS faster than my Galaxy Note 1 but in almost everything else, the Note is faster and snappier. I have disabled lots of apps, resett it, no change. So my question, I guess this one is really worth rooting and installing a good rom Im used to the Cyanogen to my phones, is Cyanogen working good for this tablet?
Im still marveled by the quality of the screen, I dont think I ever have seen such a good screen! If I just now could get it working somewhat near as good as my Note 1 I will be a happy panda
Thanx in advance peeps
My experience is that it is NOT slow and buggy.
I could compare it with an iPad3 last week and I think they are very close.
You can't compare it with a note because due to the much higher resolution the gpu has to do so much more computing. That is why the nexus7 is faster than the tf700 due to it's smaller screen AND resolution

I'm on stock rom with browser2ram and force2gpu enabled. My table is very fast. Just remember before you flash a new rom, just do factory reset(data wipe 3 times). Also root is good (allow you to install rooted app like Titinium backup, SetcPU etc..), but don't unlock unless absolutely necessary (void your warranty), or you have time or like to play with custom rom.
Ok, sounds like I will root it then and try to tweak it, Im not satisfied with the speed with it sofar. Its seems stable now after I resetted it, before the reset, it crasched 2-10 times a day. My idea was that since the GPU and CPU is older in the Note, The Tegra 3 would be able to handle the FullHD resolution but it doesnt seem to .. I definatly want a ROM without the garbage crap
I plan to use it to write alot on, can you recommend a good office app? Or a browser that google docs work good with
Is games running good for you?? The new demanding ones I tried before resetting was really slow and laggy.

Is games running good for you?? The new demanding ones I tried before resetting was really slow and laggy.
Thanx for the replys, I hope I get this baby running smoother

Yes, all games, videos, pictures, and documents and apps are function normally. There are 3 most popular office apps:
1. Documents to go (this can view google docs also. Paid version only)
2. Kingsoft office
3. Polaris office (currently polaris has a bug with fonts).
My stock browser can view google docs fine. I think stock browser is the best in my opinion (have tried boat, chrome, mozilla etc...)

The Infinity's performance is not CPU bound and is not due to the higher res. It's I/O limited. The CPU is plenty fast enough. As soon as the memory config requires the system to start hitting the /sdcard memory, the system will be subject to random stuttering/pausing because the sdcard memory is the cheapest, slowest, crappiest flash RAM ASUS could find.
This is why stuff like browser2ram is seen as a huge boost for people that do a lot of browsing and it is also why the stuttering varies from user to user/session to session since the RAM situation in the system varies from config to config and moment to moment during use. Some users who's config has a lot of free DRAM and do not frequently use stuff that hits the sdcard partition hard, see almost no performance issues with the tablet.

Well,
I guess I'm going to do the downgrade to ICS .30\root\then try the rootkreeper deal back to Belly Jean.
I really don't want to go thru all this, but if I want to keep chipping away trying to find a better Android experience then so be it.
Pain in the ass...
Thanx for the info! That was my biggest thoughts about the Infinity, "is the RAM enough?" and it isnt but then Ill just have to multitask less and try to tweak it. And perhaps dont install multipicture wallpaper.. but thats one of the things that I love about my Note
buhoitr: thanx for the suggestions, Ill try them and see
What rom would you suggest for getting the most out of the Infinity?

Hmmm, I've found mine to be quick and virtually bug-free, but then again I didn't buy it as a toy.
A little tweaking and I wouldn't call it slow. Even stock its a solid piece of equipment.
Apply data2sd mod built for CleanROM 2 after installing the ROM. You'll need a fast sd card.
Research the threads. The blob for data2sd for that ROM was just posted today.

I own both the Infinity and the Acer a700 and after the a700 got JB earlier today, I will say that the Infinity lags more than the a700 (and I was very happy with the Infinity). Colour me shocked.
The only time I really ever experience any lag or sluggishness is when browsing. I will be rooting once there is a method discovered for Jelly Bean on the Infinity. I'd really like to give browser2ram a shot. I've heard it does wonders for browsing.

Before i say thing, I will list the important things about my tablet - C7 model, Has been repaired for speaker issues & Jelly bean 4.1.1. I'd say TF700T is a powerful device, It lacks the software for it. I use to notice quiet a bit of lag on ICS but after upgraded to Jelly bean, It's faster than ever! I would even compare it to iPad 3:laugh: I'm running Stock Jelly bean with a bit of removing apps here and there.
I Don't know why everyone is having problems with such a decent device.

I you guys would read the Development section (read the newer threads, please) you would see that CleanROM2.2 has pretty much completely eliminated the lag and i/o issues. It's reason enough to root and unlock. This tablet is a beast when it is allowed to begin to reach its full potential.

I think CleanROM 2.2 is the route I'm going to go too...that's if I can figure out how to do it without asking a bunch of dumbs**t questions.
Still reading about it in development.

[Q] To Data2SD or not to Data2SD...

I have read a lot of the I/O bottleneck problems about the TF700, and using Data2SD is the best alternative the development has to offer to solve this.
The question I have of concern is whether I should do this now or later? I have gotten myself a new replacement of the TF700, and successfully rooted, unlocked, and Inherited the Clean ROM Inheritance. Doing this is something I'm not sure I want to do now considering the internal is still running pretty okay right now.
If I do wait it out and then decide to do this, would it be too late? I'm just wondering would I get optimal speed of performance once utilize the Data2SD after the degradation of the internal?
Thanks.

Personally I think CROMI with browser2ram resolves most io problems.

No, you can switch to it whenever you want in the future without any restrictions.
Sbdags and _that are much, much more knowledgeable than teeny me, but I also think CROMI currently solves most problems that the 700 had at launch time. Some I/O issue will remain under the surface, but it's been fair sailing so far for me (admittedly, I did not have that much issue with it anyway ).
I tried getting data2sd to work -- curiosity finally won over cautiousness -- but I could not, for the love of all that is holy, get it work properly, at least not in the first six tries. Minitool ruined my microSD card, although Gparted was able to recover it. <phew> I then proceeded to install data2sd. Although apparently correctly installed, I noticed very little benefit.
As I said, it could be speculated that my microSD card is screwy (I'm shopping around for a new Sandisk 32 or 64 GB Class 10), and I would have nothing to base a denial on. A better card might have shown a tremendous degree of improvement, making me use my 700 so intensely that I'd drain all available power from the one nuclear power station in the Netherlands, making it melt-down all the way to China, making them retaliate, thus ending the world a few days late.
I doubt the latter, however, and will stick with CROMI as it is. Just great.
I use my tabby for the internet. Mail, youtube, browsing. Clean Rom and browser2ram has eliminated my io troubles. In fact, i'm running CR 2.72 and haven't bothered to upgrade because i just don't feel the need.
Plenty of folks have had luck with data2sd. I was not one of them. With two different cards, i had similiar results. It wouldn't run reliably for more than an hour.

mine is permanent and just waiting for cards to catch up to ram/bus/cpu ,etc

Soon enough, though, I might unlock and try Cromi....

I still get lag when downloading apps in particular when its trying to install after it downloads. Also transition lag in opening apps is still there as well as scrolling though the recent app list but mainly when youre in the home screen or again while apps are installing. Games still lag as well from time to time. But games do open faster.
The only advantage I see with the data2sd is app opens slightly faster like heavy HD games. IMO data2sd is not a must if you're already running CROMI as it doesn't make a lot of difference.

I felt pretty newbie asking about what CROMI is when I didn't realize it stands for Clean ROM Inheritance. Not only that, but I also have Browser2RAM installed not too long ago.
Anyway, I really don't have any HD Games to boot into my tablet yet since I don't see a lot of choices offered in my interest. If doing data2sd really isn't of importance, then I guess my question is resolved. Thanks guys!

Possible I/O lagfix (from nexus 7/OneX forums)

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2104326
Hi,
Saw this on reddit this morning, as no one's posted it yet I'd just like to offer it up as another potential lag-fixer.
The source of the problem is that internal storage is not properly TRIMmed when needed. You can find lots of information on XDA - http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1971852 and http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1929021 for example. It is also well-known fact that running fstrim Linux tool from time to time fixes the issue until internal memory runs out of free blocks. Other solutions like mounting with -discard or disabling fsync may be dangerous.
LagFix is a user-friendly implementation of fstrim utility. It allows you to select which partitions to trim (you should leave defaults unless you know what you are doing) and run the process easily.
Please note that fstrim output depends on kernel and device. It works fine unless you see errors. You might see big amounts of bytes, zero amount or repeating amount. All are fine! Read fstrim manual to understand why all these outputs are valid.
It is also advised to reboot your device after the TRIM process so that kernel could reinitialize block data.
App is free and is available in Play Market. Current version is 1.0.
P.S. If your ROM mounts /data with -discard then this app is NOT needed! Mounting with -discard causes brickbug on some devices, so I DO NOT advise using -discard.

I applied it on my rooted, locked tf700 and, well, nothing bad happened. I am on the .25 update, which I feel made overall app-opening a little smoother, so I can't tell if this makes any noticeable difference, but it certainly doesn't seem slower after applying it. The dev says that if you run androbench after applying the fix i/o read should be higher, if anyone could run a few benchmarks of before/after it would be appreciated! I've never really placed much faith in benchmarks so didn't bother doing it myself.
Hope this benefits someone!

I downloaded and installed it. Ran it, rebooted. It did trim, but the jury is still out on whether this actually helps or not. It's too freshly booted to really judge the effects properly, so I'll have it settle in and report back.
It didn't break my 700 -- that's a good thing to start with.

Yeah, I was reluctant to be the first one to try it on an infinity... But it worked out for the better, I think. Now I don't know if the .25 jb update or this is to thank for the better performance. It should hope up till the 4.2 update at least! Quite pleased with the .25 update

Just tried it. Could be my imagination, but my tablet seems snappier.
I am not convinced that it will have any effect: TF700's Hynix eNAND flash is eMMC 4.41 compliant, which does not have DISCARD command, the equivalent of SATA's TRIM command. The DISCARD command is supported in eMMC 4.51 compliant flash but I don't know if the Kingston flash in Nexus 7 is eMMC 4.51 compliant. Even if it does TRIM the TF700, probably it will have little effect if you have alot of free space left as it does not affect the garbage collection significantly. One would hope that TRIM should already be done dynamically within the file management software as it would reduce write amplification factor, hence improve write speed performance?

According to the spec, eMMC 4.41 supports TRIM - what's the difference between TRIM and DISCARD?
I read that eMMC 4.41 also supports "background operation" and "high priority interrupt" - these sound much more interesting related to lag than TRIM. Do you have any idea if these features are already used in the TF700's Linux kernel (or even at all in any kernel)?
faq in op link said:
Which devices are affected?
It is known by now, that Nexus S, Galaxy Nexus, Nexus 7, Nexus 4, Nexus 10 and HTC One X need regular trimming. It is also believed that all pre-ICS devices used different memory and they do NOT need it nor support it. Pre-ICS support will be dropped in version 1.2. Other 4.0+ devices? Well, test it! And report if it really helps - your device will be added to the list.
How to properly test it?
Use AndroBench app before using LagFix and after. You only need micro test. Look for Sequential Write values. Reading from memory is NOT affected, because reading does not involve writting and only writting triggers search party for free memory blocks.

For anyone looking for early confirmation of impact.
I think I'll give this a try. I have some hefty typing lag. I thought one of the first updates had gotten rid of it, but it came back, it was just temporarily relieved by the fresh reboot then. If it does help, it'll probably be a month before I confirm anything, just to avoid giving/having false hope . Thanks for posting op hope it works.
Edit, sorry, just noticed OP already mentioned androbench.
Edit 2: Saw no change in my androbench write speed. Sequential write was something over 5MB/s, random write was .15MB/s both before and after running it, and again after rebooting. lagfix claimed to have trimmed successfully. If anything, it felt more laggy for a while after running it. I'm an OS update or two behind FWIW, just installed Jelly Bean a month or so ago. I like to let everyone else test the updates before I install them. I'll probably run another bench this evening.
fsTRIM = AWESOME fix - on CROMI, OCed kernel, fsync disabled
I just download the fsTRIM app and it worked with CROMI, OCed kernel, and fsync disabled. Will seem laggy right after runnng it, just reboot as soon as you do and things will be deffinitely running smoother and slightly faster now. Noticing less keyboard latency even as I type this out. I suggest trying it out.
UPDATE - Seriously try this **** out. Keyboard typing is radically smoother in browser, evernote, and google drive. Less latency between multi touch gestures ive set up in GMD Gesture Control as well. App opening is still instantaneous. Loading big web pages is definitely quicker. Will time boot and other things and update again soon.
Update - Opening large files and youtube is faster. large pdfs load faster. everything is really....snappy, and.....smooth.....best of both worlds. things were already pretty snappy and smooth with CROMI, didnt think they could get better but it has. I time everything as well to compare. I could barely time it after this fix as everything is basically instantaneous. Havent tried writing/moving large files on internal storage yet, will test soon, this is distracting me from my homework too much lol.
It works for me I can now download files and move them without having my tablet unusable until it's done.
