I know this may seem elementary... S-Boot

I am just trying to find how to check if my device has S-OFF or not?
I tried holding the...
volume up + power
volume down + power
volume up&down + power
NOTHING gets me into the h boot screen.
Its driving me crazy and I can't find it anywhere. Whats the trick?
Thanks
Either take the battery out for a couple of seconds and the power up with volume down. OR far easier turn off the fastboot option in the power settings, then power down and then power up with volume down.
Took me a little while to work that one out too.

I believe you hold the volume down and power until the screen comes up. Make sure you have held it long enough.

lol as long as you take the battery out, make sure u put it back in, then keep hold of the volume down button then either tap the power button or keep hold of it, both ways it boots up

sounds like your power button is going(acts as if stuck sometimes). my power button is gone. in fastboot/bootloader i have to tap the back of my phone by the power button to get it "unstuck" so that the volume keys work.
Exactly. The power button is virtually dead. I am hoping to get it replaced by one of the guys on here just waiting to hear back. So if the power button is stuck then the volume keys dont work in fastboot? Very interesting.

Hold volume down and power down...bottom buttons will flash 7 times...then release power button but keep holding volume down. That should get you there.

Why even take the time to respond when your answer is going to be this......
Edit ... to OP ... you're doing it wrong... wait 1 min after power down, hold vol down for 5 sec, then hold power together with vol down.

I don't believe you have to wait...What I do is reboot/power on while holding vol down the ENTIRE TIME until I get to the bootloader. I've found that releasing vol down too soon will just lead to a normal boot.

No I completely agree. I've jumped the gun personally on a shutdown a couple times and ended up just rebooting tho, so if this guy is still (which I hope and seriously doubt) trying to get to his BL, then may be the issue.. who knows.

HELP!!!!!!!!

this is my first time and i tried to flash cyanogenmod 10 for my at&t htc one x and im stuck on the rotating cyanogemod screen for about 10 mins. i cant get into the bootloader every time i try to reboot it takes me to the cyanogemod screen please help!

sorry my first time and how do you get into trwp? cause i hold down power and volume down and it just takes me back to the boot loop
Turn on, hold power 10-15 seconds, until screen goes black, let off, press n hold volume down, press power just 2-3 seconds, let off power button but continue holding vol. Down
Than select recovery
oh my god. thank you so much. you are a god.

Chill out man.
OP, hopefully you have some fastboot/adb experience. You'll have to extract CM ROM, grab the boot.IMG and fastboot it to your device... Then flash ROM in twrp and reboot.
If it bootloops again, try to flash ROM then fastboot.. Different strokes for different folks

People always think there is something wrong with their phone, but almost always its just a matter of not performing the button sequence correctly. The main thing that people don't seem to understand, is that you need to release the power button only, and keep holding volume down until the white bootloader screen comes up. People seem to be releasing both at the same time, which just causes a normal boot.
All I do is hold power for 10-15 seconds and then once the screen goes black I let go and start holding down the volume rocker until it boots into the bootloader. Much simpler in my opinion

can not get in to fastboot on one x

Ok, I have done some looking and have not figured out much yet. I have a one x from AT&T that will not go into fastboot . Pushed the down vol and power, it starts up as normal. There is a pin lock on the screen that the customer forgot the code, so all we need to do is reset the phone to factory. Any other way to do this? I can not access the phones menu to do any thing like turn on debugging to fix it that way. Any help would be great.

There is not button combo that goes directly to fastboot. That button combo gets you into bootloader. Once in bootloader, you can select fastboot.
And if you can't get into booloader, its almost always a matter of you not doing the button combo correctly. Hold both the power button and vol down until the capacitive buttons flash a few times and the screen powers off. While the screen is off, release the power button but not the vol down rocker. Keep holding vol down until the white hboot screen comes up. People often think you are supposed to release both buttons at the same time, which just makes the phone boot normally.
Also this thread belong in Q&A. I've notified the mods to move it.

lol. Don't forget to jump up and down and flap your arms like a chicken. Absolutely necessary.
Seriously, it is confusing because a lot of people will just say "press power and vol down" which really doesn't accurately describe the whole process.
close please, condition green now.
