Is there any way to mod the flash player from ics to work on any jelly bean rom?
Code:
<uses-sdk android:minSdkVersion="8" android:targetSdkVersion="5" android:maxSdkVersion="13" />
Is revision 20 the highest?

No modding required. Adobe Flash from ICS will work on JB. Just download the apk or take it from titanium backup (thats what i did).

Thanks i will try this Later on today!
Yep, I am running flash with no problems on JellyBean. Dosen't work with all browsers however.
Runs fine with original browser.
Yeah clear data and you're good to go. What makes me sad is that it doesn't work with chrome
Sent from my Nexus 7 running Froyo.
You have it backwards, Chrome doesn't work with Flash.

That was Adobe, they want to move over to HTML5 for mobile. In fact flash player (for Android) is being killed altogether August 15 so it makes sense for them not to make it work on JB.
I thought they just going to remove it from the Play Store after August 15th, meaning you could still keep it backed up in Titanium Backup and just restore and use it. Will this not be the case?

Yes, you could do this, but you'd probably have to be in 4.0.4 at the latest.
I can confirm that flash still works on version 4.1.1 on the Galaxy Nexus. I assume it will be the same for the Nexus S.
Google said that flash support isnt needed on jb! The browser will fill in that part!

I flash roms therefore i am!!
Best feature in Jelly Bean by far!

Hello,
if you restore Adobe flash from Titanium Backup seems to work on 4.1
adobe dropped support for mobile flash player before the galaxy nexus even launched, but they promised an update to support ICS and they did that and they said they will keep making security updates until finally removing the app from the playstore on august 15,they never said that the current flash player will not work on jelly bean,so installing the apk or restoring it from backup may and may not work.and with a linux porting kit available (as far as i know) maybe some dev will port it or maybe google will integrate it in chrome for android like firefox did for their mobile version.
i have test the port of Jb on nexus s and the flash player not working ... i try to find it from google play and isnt here ... then i install apk and no work on website .... i open site with flash and crash ... also no broswer open site with flash ...
No online tv ... no online game on website ... no miniclip ... site not view good because flash plugin needed...
Best way to get rid of the dependency on dying technology is to force everyone to stop using it
Flash ain't going anywhere period. Just a Steve jobs talking point for not allowing it on iOS.
Flash is a dying technology - still push QuickTime.
Flash not on mobile anymore but you won't see it off the net anytime soon.
But i want to see site that need flash player what i can do ?
I think this might be the case: In android 4.1, Chrome is the default browser. no unnamed android browser for Nexus 7, just chrome. And chrome doesn't support flash. that is why adobe says they won't support flash beyond 4.0.x.
BUT on the GN and nexus s, we still have the unnamed webkit browser on jb roms/ports, which were the same ones from 4.0. and it can handle flash just like it did in 4.0 since all the 4.0 api were compatible with 4.1.

Getting so close to daily drivers with the jb roms so exciting. A bit off topic, but anyone having issues with bluetooth media running? I have latest jbrom (i think) running on my ns4g and that is one issue I have run into. I can take phone calls running through my car kit but media does not work. It says it's working but it's not. I have tried anything common sense would ask of a human being. Something is definitely wrong. pm me with any responses please I dont want to clutter up this thread. Thanks in advance!!
Flash is old tech. Adobe is just forcing us to switch to newer teach like HTML5 is what I heard...

Yea they removed it with jellybean sorry
Hit the thanks button
I'm running JB 4.1 on a Nexus S 4G and I don't even see Flash Player in the GPlay Store.
okay so the only thing i really like about cm10 compared to cm9 is the status bar.
its alot more cleaner in my opinion, but what i was wondering is if its possible to put the cm10 status bar onto cm9.
and if so can someone direct me to a tutorial on how to do this.
You mean the notification drawer right? I think you would have to change a couple of files in framework, some editing and some libs.. maybe more.
Bottom line: why go through all that trouble? Jb and ics are very similar, both cosmetically and in performance, and jb should surpass ics once it continues to be perfected, specially project butter.

I agree with andros11. I've tried a ics-skinned gingerbread rom, 2 ics roms, and now a jb rom: the jb rom is by far my favorite, especially in regards to the notification bar and the response time. Try jb; you won't regret it

I agree... I also have tried ICS covered GB ROMs and cm9. Absolutely love the cm10 jb ROM. Runs smooth with just a few very minor bugs. Not going back!

Only downside i've really noticed to CM10 so far is the fact that there is no more flash support and the internet is still heavily using flash right now.
Edit: was sifting through some posts and there is actually a browser that works with flash for jb. It's called xscope and it links to a post with a compatible flash version to install. Total awesomeness!

Flash actually works really well on JB. If you search for a flash apk, you can still install it and run it on other browsers too.
I was poking around the play store a while back and saw an app to get the jb notification style. I think it was called jelly bean notifications or something like that. Id post a link but im on the phone and its a pita.
I didnt test it as im on cm10 but try it out. Might be just what youre looking for
Edit: it was called jelly bean status bar. And it looks like it might change the way notifications are shown. But im not sure.

I was wondering if I flashed or installed the Clock App from 4.2 on ICS 4.0.4 will it work or will it ruin the ROM and make me redo everything? I want to know if its even possible to flash or install the 4.2 version of the Clock App on ICS 4.0.4?
Thanks

Won't work. However, you can install Clock JB if you want the Jellybean clock. If you need the alarm too, you'll have to spend a small amount to get Clock JB+ instead.
I tried that today and it didnt work. However if you copy and paste deskclock from cm10.1 to cm10 it worms just great I so much more prefer the 4.2 clock over 4.1 app.

Yeah . and the new chronos app of CM rules.
Yea well I need the 4.2 or 4.1 Clock for ICS 4.0.4 and I'd really prefer not to install an app from the Market cause I want to keep everything as Stock as possible. Just the way I am i dont know aha
guys i need help, i have stock jelly bean 4.1.1 on my nexus s, and i wanted to have that black bean or inverted messaging, contacts and calendar for my phone, i tried using someone's help and i ended up restoring my phone twice, once i replaced the original one and then used twrp to flash it, but everytime it said messaging has stopped unfortunately need help regarding this please, if someone can help me get a few pointers how to replace my apps with inverted ones, hurts my eyes too since i have weak eyes
PS yes i'm rooted
Why don't you just flash blackbean or some other 4.2.2 rom that supports dark-toggled gapps and system apps? What's hindering you?

well because they're not probably as stable as the stock rom? is what i've read probably ... if it is then i'll give it a go, and i have twrp by the way, it's the easiest to work with in my opinion, can it be done using twrp? i've had bad experience with cwm
I just want to make a sincere request to all our developers.
Would it be possible to port MIUI ROM such that it can be installed in partitions other than 1. Like the ROMs we already have.
Currently I've JB Leak 1 installed in System 1 and I want to keep it as it is.
Thanks.
Miui v4 and 5 both bmm compatible.. U need to check the development thread..

I understand what you are trying to say. But my concern is, for MIUI, we need to install it over official JB leak 3. And we cannot install official jb leaks on any other partitions. So how will I install MIUI on other partitions? Can't we have a KEXEC type ROM which can be installed just like all other ROMs??

Make a backup of the jb leak 3 via BMM and then restore it on another system then flash miui on top of that.
If I had a dollar for every time I said that, I'd be making money in a very weird way.

I have MIUI on my system 4 it shouldn't be a problem
Use this link if your on the Asia or ME865 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2362411 (its got nightly updates)
For AT&T model use this one which i use its from some Chinese website translated in this forum (It requires a BMM compatible patch that you need to zip )
