Atrix 2 dead - Motorola Atrix 2

Ingles
hola. I have a motorola Atrix 2 that totally died when he was flashing. not turn in any way with any key combination. comprises only the white LED when I plug the USB cable. the battery is fully charged. I searched through several forums and nothing. they all say that, if the power Prees and the volume key, if the rsd. anything that serves as the cel does not turn in any way and therefore does not recognize the pc and I can not flash it. My question is this. There are some hardware with which to fix the corrupt boot? and I speak as saying boot the pc bios. the phone does not have a week of purchase. but bought by amazon, so no ganrantia. . for those who wonder, since the phone was being updated and the electricity went off and did not finish.

Which rom were you flashing, which Android version were you on prior to flashing, and which firmware is your phone on?

In this case the OP posted in both, and his English paragraph certainly looks like a babblefish translation(even labels it English, "ingles" in Spanish.)
That said, I'm 80% sure the OP hardbricked.

Agreed. Id say I'm 99% sure its hard bricked...I got one here in my apartment as I type this. Havent sent it back yet since I'm getting yet anothet replacement A2. The OP matched my hard brick 100% to the letter. Bottom line is, theres nothing the OP can do except replace it or buy a brand new one.

juan_benitesm, at what point during the flashing did your phone "die?" Did it suddenly turn off in the middle of flashing, or did it complete and then not reboot?
Are you 100% sure that:
-The battery is charged to a decent amount
-Holding the power button for a long time does nothing
-Holding the power button and volume buttons for a long time does nothing
If so, then I think that you are "hard bricked." This means that there is no way to get your phone to work again. I'm very sorry but if this is the case there is nothing that we can do... you will have to find a replacement device. I am not sure of how Amazon's warranty works, but you might be able to get a working A2 from Amazon or Motorola.

Roughly translated to English.
Damn I hate to be the bearer of bad news but i'm sorry to say your cell is dead. This happened to alot of people that tried going back to GB from the ICS leak that came out on the net. Unfortunately there's nothing you can really do to fix your phone. A lot of people have tried to fix it but the end result is that they had to contact AT&T or motorola and have it replaced through warranty.
Alot of the people that replied also believe that it's dead, that's why they keep saying "bricked" because that's all it's useful for, as a brick. DX2Trip said that the exact same thing happened to him, so he's 100% sure that your cell doesn't work anymore.
Oh well, looks like you;re going to have to buy a new cell phone and be more careful with what you flash. Next time ask before you flash anything that way you are sure that everything will work without a problem. Better to be safe than sorry.

He said he was flashing it but that the power went out i the middle of flashing it. He said he looked in multiple forums tried all kinds of button combinations but all the phone does is have a white LED with no RSD or anything. If he tried plugging it into a computer it won't detect it.
He also says he uses a universal charger and that the battery is fully charged.

For old Motorola phones like V3, we can tear down its mainboard, find the test point (just only one point) which can be connected to mass (ground) and flashing software will recognize it (maybe it bypass bootloader) and we flash phone again.
But, so sorry for A2, none of any solving solution now for hard-brick phone.
Just forget it forever and buy a new phone, never look back to Motorola's phones again !

Working Motorola Dev Cable
I'll make sure to get some photos up soon of the whole operation.
Anyway I managed to get a Dev Cable built to successfully re-flash firmware to the Atrix. I actually bricked my phone three times and instantly was able to re-flash to 1.8.3 and higher.
So first off I found a previous post on another form about making a dev cable and noticed all you need to do is run a wire from the 1 pin (which is 5V) to the 4 pin (which has nothing attached to it).
Micro USB pin diagram here:
http://www.kineteka.com/microusb-b.aspx
It seemed simple enough, but in reality it is a slight pain to get inside the injected plastic to get to the pins. Basically what I ended up doing (and I'll get pictures up here soon) is cut into the USB cable about 2 inches behind the micro USB plug to make the red wire (5V) accessible. Next I cut off the plastic shielding around the micro USB and slowly pried away the metal clips. The important part here is to not break off the tip of the USB cable that is used to secure the cable to the phone.
Now the hard part… if the plastic is clear then your work is cut out for you and you can just melt the plastic to the 4 pin connector and solder. If it’s not, then you have to do some careful exploring, the best option I have found is to melt the plastic to find the 4 pin. Cutting away the plastic also helps but caution you might cut into the wrong area and sever a wire (I did this twice already). Next step is to clean and solder a wire to the 4 pin connector; I used the wire from a butchered USB cable from this project, make sure the wire is long enough to allow for errors.
Finally run the wire back to the first cut in the USB cable and solder or use heat shrink tubing to bind the Red Wire (5V) to the jumper wire that runs from the 4 pin connector on the micro usb.
With a little luck it should work!
My soldering is not that great and one out of the two cables I made worked.
If you have any questions, ask!
AND
So I found out the best way to un-brick a phone... it's simple as building a Dev Cable. I have tested this three times already on my Moto Atrix and every time I have been able to reload the firmware with RSD.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1050624
So in a nutshell the best way to do it is to tear apart a micro USB cable. I had to go through four to make one working one, since my soldering skills suck, and run a wire from the 1 pin (which is the 5V) to the 4 pin (which has nothing connected to it), by doing this you're adding 5V to the 4 pin and VIOLA! the phone is able to be powered during a soft brick.... (my bad, I said hard before, didn't realize my mistake till now).

Here's a little more in depth post on it:

Q]What are JTAG or Riff Box procedure to unbrick our Atrix 2 ?
Last few days were full of frustration for me I've searched every single website on Internet that could possibly describe me on what can be done to get our phones running after a Hard Brick that was caused by ICS leak. The pain even increases when I see that I've hardbricked without even doing anything that was not possible.
Though there are not exact explanation for our phone but I've seen people getting success for their devices.
I've no warranty so if this problem is not solved I'll probably have to throw my phone in dustbin. As now I don't have warranty I want to fix this phone on my own and I am ready to try every single things that is possible, so for that I need suggestions from all our devs in here.
I've seen people using JTEG and riff box methods to unbrick their phones. I am not familiar with these methods, I want people to explain me these things and what are the chances of unbricking our devices.
I saw this method used for old atrix will this work for us??

I was able to unlock, now I can't

Sup guys, probably you've read a lot of these kind of threads, but please take a minute to check my situation
Some data first:
Samsung Focus, software version 7.0 (7004), zune is installed on Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit edition.
Sooo, I was able to do all that unlock wizardry, and sideload a few apps.
Then, suddenly the unlock tool stopped working, showing me the typical "connect to usb and open Zune, you retard" stuff.
Then I notice all the apps stopped working (Microsoft has revoked this app, please uninstall blah blah we're evil blah).
So I read that I needed to unlock my phone again to make the apps work once again.
and there I went, reinstalled zune, run the unlocker in compatiblity mode, reset the phone, and still the unlocker shows me the stupid alert.
Any advice? Can't even add my custom ringtones!
ALSO: Is there another way to unlock the phone?
Search for prevent wp7 from relocking, its easy and only takes a few steps
Sent from my HD7 using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
Yep, I'm totally doing that, but I have to unlock again first
I have the same problem ):, any solution?

Have you tried this method? Worked for me when I ran into the same issue. Did this and then made it to where it won't relock.

I'll try it when I get back,
Ok, so I found 2 step-by-step methods, but both ask for the phone to be unlocked. And that's my problem
I had a similar problem where i could unlock easily, but one day, i just couldnt unlock my phone again (pre-nodo at the time)
So i just hard reset my phone back to the day i bought it, and it worked straight off again.... never had any problems with it after that...
The hard-reset is the one you do with the power button, the camera and the volume -?
I tried that and no luck
Have you tried unlocking from another computer? I don't know exactly how or why (probably related to me screwing with the Windows registry,) but the Chevron unlock stopped working on my laptop but would run fine on my desktop computer.
If the unlock works from another computer, apply the fix to prevent it from re-locking ASAP
As I said in another thread, was trying for a long time to unlock, couldn't.
I'm not very sure how it happened (via updating the phone to NoDo or else) but my Zune got updated and I couldn't unlock.
What I did is uninstall Zune, reset and reinstalled 4.7 with no internet connection. It can unlock now. Try this, maybe it works for you.
Thanks both, I'll try what you say, very good advices here

thanks, but still no luck

when I try to turn on or connect to pc the phone does not do anything, it's as if dead. anyway thanks for trying to help me, yesterday I went to express and I sat have to send to nokia sat
I finally have answered the nokia sat and do not understand. I say burn the plate into water and not covered under warranty, so I asked the repair 87e. I have replied saying that I never water fell on the phone. I can do. I put a complaint in nokia support.

oops

Redmi 9a black screen recovery

Hello, i need help. I try to install twrp and the phone now is bricked. No fastboot mode just go to recovery, that what show in adb devices. I can´t do anything because is in black screen.
Can anyone help me?
And sorry if im in wrong tread.
Thanks
It's resolved. I use adb shell to remove some files.
Thanks anyway,
Hello there, may i bother you time to teach me how to recover from your 9a bricked and just go black screen???
I already have this problem for almost 2 month and still can`t find the solution. Our difference was, i already install twrp and also already flash rom and suddenly its goes black.
Some simple solution that i read is, i drained dead my battery so need to charge it for a few hours, or maybe a whole day or two i heard. I already tried to charge it almost 3 days, still can get it to boot to fastboot or recovery.
And 1 more problem, my 9A only can be read by PC if I bypass the EDL using TEST POINT from my hardware, and i have tried many kinds of flashing tools and also downloaded a bunch or ROMs based on guides i read from forum here and there.
Please if you have the solution for my problem, it will means a lot to me.
Thx before.

Gracias antes.

Hello, from my understanding, if you can enter EDL, you could make a full reflash with SP Flasher, to revert to factory !
I have a slightly different problem, my 9A is in a bootloop, not possible to enter fastboot, no recovery.
I would like to use SP Flash tool, but i don't know the EDL hardware test-pins.
Please share a picture of the EDL hardware pins, if you know how to force enter EDL without adb/fastboot/twrp.
Thanks.

Hello,
I don't understand the meaning, you sent 3 pics containing a tweezer.
Was that a joke, sarcasm, or misunderstanding?
I had the impression that you already know the EDL test points for Redmi 9A.
I was just asking for a PCB picture with the EDL points marked for Redmi 9A (example I found for 9T, but PCB looks different : https://www.edlpoint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/mi-9t-test-point.jpg)

"Please share a picture of the EDL hardware pins" from my understanding is that u are asking for hardware i used to by pass the edl mode. So sorry if im mistaken, im still newbie here. So forgive me if i misunderstood what u mean.
And btw, if you had the impresssion that i already know the EDL test points for Redmi 9A, why you still ask for the picture???
Was that a joke, sarcasm, or misunderstanding???
Nevertheless, here is the picture u asked for sir.
