Anyone having this problem? (see attached images)
Makes my phone reboot a few times every freaking day.
I can peel the connector out with a needle. Just mailed HTC asking if it's a warranty-issue.

I'm stressed as hell, so sorry for the bad writing.

I'm sorry this happened. I do hope they stand behind this with warentee. Please
Keep us posted on the issue.in the mean time you can wedge a small piece of paper under the battery and this will stabilize it some and hopefully cut down on the amount of reboots your getting. It's worth a try. I know it's a proven fix for a "loose" battery. It just might stabilize the contact for you. I really hope it helps! At least until you can get a repair . Give it a shot. Best wishes .

I tried that, just pushes the pin further in, and the reboots keeps on coming.. I'll keep you posted!
Thanks
tweezers, and pull it out slowly....or go to repair shop they will change it with new one.
HTC replied that it's NOT a warranty issue. I have to pay for the service my self.
I'm going to email them again and tell them that it's not acceptable. If you buy a new car and the engine breaks after less then one year, are you going to pay for that? No. I'm not done with this.

Did you get anything solved with HTC? I have the same problem but I have all 4 pins completely down so I can't even put a piece of a paper on the top right corner of the battery. It just doesn't work at all. If you fixed it could you please tell me how? Or did you have it fixed? Thank you

Can you replace the screen and front plate?
Ouch
Had this once with my universal, had to pay 170 ,- € to fix that.
My wife could´nt understand why i had to repair it instead of buying a new phone.
They will never understand our addicting hobby! Hobby? Passion! Destiny!
Dang that hurts me looking at it. Is there a writeup on screen replacement on this yet?
here is the service manual:
http://htcwinmobile.blogspot.com/2009/03/htc-raphaeltouch-pro-service-manual.html
whoa! thats bad ...
its touch pro breaking season or something, how did this happen?
My condolences.
I have a busted Touch Pro that with a good screen...the phone was run over by a car. Kind of mangled but powers on, cant make calls, everything else works but stuck in landscape. Funny thing is that the screen is flawless while everything else is about shot
same here man, got ran over by a car, everything worked except the lcd panel, i swear those Digitizers are strong or something cause they dont seem to crack or stop functioning easily
damn!! feel sorry for you man. claim your insurance... if you had any that is in the 1st place!
Yep, it's gone for insurance-repair.
How this happend? Just took it out of my pocket when I was in a bar and noticed the screen was cracked. It still could be an assasination

Unexplainable things happen to me when I'm in a pub too!
How is that funny? Unless it's not yours?
I'm a bit surprised some TP's survived car run-overs. I think it's worth the fix if it costs $150+ to fix when a new one is over twice as much.
oh jeez, do you keep the screen facing towards your leg when it's in your pocket? i usually keep it faced towards my leg now because my old phone cracked after hitting the edge of a table.
I don't really pay attention to which way it is facing, specially when i'm in a bar, being a bit intoxicated
I had the same porblem except my screen was not cracked. I had the same lines even though they were not so bright. So i sent my phone intor HTC for warranty repair and suprisingly they fixed it for free and sent it back to me just 3 days ago.
Hi folks,
I've had my Sensation for 3 days tops and something has happened to the back cover. It doesn't wipe off, have absolutely no idea what caused this.
Pretty poor considering it's two days old and treated with kid gloves, couldn't have looked after this phone more if I tried. Crazy.
My GS2 is still prestine, not a mark or scuff anywhere.

Nothing like that on either of my two back covers. I'd get it exchanged.

ffs... you had to send the entire phone back?
I've changed roms and allsorts already.
Yeah I'd ask HTC to supply you a new one, not acceptable really. Probably only a minor problem on a select new units because the build quality is usually top notch.
I've emailed HTC via the customer service channels on their site and attached a pic. See how it goes. Sending the entire phone back would be ridiculous. Cost them more in shipping, hassle and man hours.
I had a similar issue I think with my original cover. I had it less than 10 days, always on micro cloth etc. and I had a spot in the back cover. Of course everyone here will tell you it is something you are doing wrong but I handle my phones with the greatest care and always get top dollar for resale.
In the End HTC sent me a new cover and I have not had anymore problems so far, knock on wood..
T-Mobile have said I would need to replace the whole handset if I go through them. I hope HTC have a better answer, got it setup how I like, the battery is warmed up and broken in nicely too.

i sent it back rooted with a custom rom and all that ish to my carrier, wasnt still going to waste time going to stock,. Tried going through htc first to see if they could just send me a new cover, but they fail in south africa :/
I own a Droid 4 and recently dropped it, cracked the digitizer, and replaced it. Now my touch screen is only detecting these thin horizontal lines on the upper half of the screen. I'm wondering if it's possible that I screwed up the phone on disassembly/reassembly or if it's more likely that the new digitizer is defective.
Has anyone seen anything like this before?
Thanks,
Alex
P.S. The attachment is a screen shot of my phone running an app which detects points sent by the touch screen/digitizer and records them.

Bump
Firstly - please don't bump your own threads, and certainly not until at least 24 hours have passed.
Secondly - The reason for you not getting a reply is likely due to the fact that XDA is actually supposed to be a "Development" site, not a "Hardware" site
Thirdly - The likelihood is that you either;-
a) bought a cheap, eBay special digitiser which is not fully compatible
b) didn't get the connections right on install
c) broke something else inside the phone when you dropped it
Start off by taking it all apart again and rebuilding it, if that doesn't work then decide if you want to spend more money buying another digitiser or just ditch the phone and get a new one.
P.S. Why include a pointless poll for this thread?
P.P.S. Not sure why, but you have made two posts and XDA shows you as only making one. Strange.
That is classic yo, made my night. Well I was just checkin in here cause I couldn't find a more appropriate forum. I figured someone might know something, but yeh sorry bout the bumps. Although it did get you to respond, hopefully I didn't break something. I don't think so because everything on the phone works perfectly, I even fixed the little headset speaker. After much arm pulling I finally convinced the company to give me a refund, we'll see if a new one does the trick.

So I take care of my phones, pristine condition!
I left my phone on the coffee table, and no less than 5 minutes later, my dog decides to be insanely hyper and wacks it with his tail about 10 feet across the room....
It shouldn't have broken as the room is carpeted, but I think it hit the screen on the corner of my entertainment center.
In other words, it's completely smashed. The screen still works and responds to inputs just fine, everything else is perfect, just a shattered screen...
So would it be cheaper/better/faster etc. to sell it on ebay and just buy a new one, or send it in to have the screen repaired?
Or how easy is it to replace it myself, and where would I buy a new screen?
On ebay you can get lcd assembly for around 120 USD.
And watch tear-down video (Le55ons on youtube) about Nexus 5
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OPuCmfhzgbg
you can decide for yourself if you can do it.
Is that much of a difference in cost than sending it in?
Sent from my Nexus 5 using xda app-developers app
I would get a new one regardless of cost.

Well, on top of the replacement cost you will pay labor/shipping ... So, you might be better at the end just buying new device
Yeah, I guess that's what I'll do then. Buy a new one and hope to get some decent recovery selling this one on ebay for parts or something....

Can anyone confirm this actually works? Your saying to heat up the motherboard with a hair dryer and it fixes the phone? Is this a joke [emoji23]?

Technically it could work. Search "BGA Reballing" in Google. People has been baking desktop GPUs, laptop motherboards and mobile phone motherboards to re-ball the lead soldering balls that make contact between the mobo and chip. But I'm quite skeptical about hair-dryer. The heat might not be enough. Industrial heat-guns surely work.
It tries to do the same thing as the oven technique (which I tested and it works temporarily, for a couple of weeks, long enough to backup what you need) but it isn't as effective since the conventional home hair drier can't heat up the MB that high.
