How is this done properly on the GSIII? I knew how to do it on ICS on my GSII, but I can't get the recompile without a bunch of errors.
Please, and thank you.
you need to set both twframework-res.apk and framework-res.apk as dependencies "apktool if twframework-res.apk"

Oh and if it's recompiling with "plural" errors, there's a guide somewhere in themes and apps I think. Here :
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}

I already did that, to do before. The plural errors is what I'm having. I read a guide on xda,but what you provided looks better. Thank you!

If you are using a root explorer simply copy and paste it to your system/app Directory... make sure your permissions match the rest of the bunch , reboot ,enjoy..
This is how permissions should look:
