Today I received my new shiny Asus Transformer, everything works great except the Market itself...
I can't even download any apps, paid or free. When I try to download any apps, it start like trying to download, but there is no progress on notification bar and it just keep like that.
I reset the tablet several times, also, cleaned the cache of the Market and Framework services, shutdown (restart) several times... nothing
Is this happening to anyone? I searched this forum and performed the steps above, but still nothing...
Please, help
Have you look into My App area, you will see, not installed list of apps. I get that as well...I am not sure if it's a bug or intended. Sometimes, it would stay at download forever. I got to go out and go back into the Market and redo it all over.

Yes, sometimes the apps I am trying to download don't even appear there and sometimes it does. When it says "Installing" sometimes, 1 hour can pass and still nothing... no progress on the notification bar.
In fact, I can't install anything from there, not even using the website version, https://market.android.com/
I had/have this same issue I think its a bug in the market app. I've just flashed the new firmware and it seems to work OK now.
My solution was to press back over and over until I exited the market fully, then start a new instance of it. Works on and off.
Ill let you know if the update solves this issue.

Thanks for the info.
I tried that, still no luck I need to know if this is a widespread issue or not.
I have the EVO and tried to download apps and install them now without any problems.
Also, I have discovered that I can't log in into GTalk either, but I can browse without any issues.

Sounds like an odd issue with your account. Try to check settings, accounts an sync .. and see if anything is amiss. If not, then try to create a new gmail account, and use that to login to market/gtalk. See if there is some confusion as to your phone account and your tablet. Do you have settings>Privacy ticked off for google to back up your apps and sync them? Try disabling if so.
Had same issue and went into settings and had to delete my gmail account and then add it again, worked fine after that!
Thanks for the replies.
1. The Backup and Restore settings are turned off.
2. I have created another Google account and removed the original, still the same problem.
3. The EVO is currently off just in case.
After doing some research, I've discovered that Gtalk have something to do with the Market, if Gtalk can sign in, then the market should works for downloads. If not, then there is a problem.
ok... wtf
After adding a new Google account while replacing the original one, the issue still happened.
Then, I decided for a million times, to make another Factory Reset with my original account again... now GTalk logon and the Market download/install apps
I will keep this thread in mind and report if anything weird happens again.
Android Market hates me. I didn't really want to have to create another gmail account but I have tried every other trick posted and still can't get apps to download.
I had this same problem with my Samsung Fascinate. 3G would download fine but I couldn't get WiFi to work until just recently when I updated the radio that came with the OTA Froyo update plus a new custom rom/kernel. I'm not sure which piece all of the sudden made things work but I was certainly happy. What's so frustrating is that I set up a Droid on the same home network with absolutely no problems from day one.
Amazon App store works fine but many of the apps I want aren't available there. Grrr.

This occurred to me after rooting the TF. I was able to correct it by going into applications and force stop and clearing data on both Market and both google framework services. Then try to restart market, if you don't get a error go back to applications and do it again. Once you get the error reboot, when you try market after the reboot it will ask you to accept terms again and then all is was right again with the world.
I have the same problem. How I can do a Factory Reset?
It was working ok but now it gives an error with the server. Eventually it will download the aplication after trying several times but will fail in the instalation. I have deleted and created again my account with no results.
Welcome to my problem. Another member told me the issue lies with our google accounts and how it syncs up with the market.
I have tried the other methods deleting cache / signing in and out etc. to no avail.
Only solution is to factory reset. Sad thing is it has happened to me 3x in the past 5 days.
I only hope for a solution to this soon.
3 times, that is scary.
Something has surprised me when I upgraded my phone to the new Galaxy S 2 from HTC HD 2 running an Android rom. When I introduced the google account it automaticaly pointed me all the aplications that I had installed in the old phone (free or paid) and give me an easy option to install all quickly. They were identified as my aplications, even they were not installed.
Is this funtion present here? It will remember what aplications I had installed in the transformer before or I will need to look for all of them again?
solution to download apps
press on apps on the home screen. then press on market. this will get you started click on sign in at top right of screen. it should automatically do a sign in with your google account. then go from there
Has anyone else been having problems with Google Chrome to Phone? Every time I try to set it up, it says "Unable to Connect". I guess it could just be my account...any help is greatly appreciated!

works just fine on my G2X. I am rooted but am running stock rom. Chrome to phone works great
It seems that on 6/3, something happened to our google accounts the mess this up. If you have a second gmail account, try to add that and sync it with chrome to phone and it'll most likely work. Doesn't really help though.. I haven't found a solution for this yet. Looks bleak.
btw, not a g2x problem as I have an evo.
Mine is hit and miss about stuff making it to the phone, chrome will always say "Sent to phone" but sometimes it doesn't show up.

Since this is the first Google result to pop up on a search for "chrome to phone unable to connect", might as well point out here that changing your Gmail account password seems to do the trick - at least it did for me.
Got the same issue with EB ICS BUild 1. But the other browser aren't working that great as well in regards to video. Choppy...

Worked for me too. Unfortunately it would be easier if Chrome to Phone gave you an option to do this from the device instead of having to change your password then reconnecting.
You can use Push2Droid for sending links from Chrome to Android devices.
Xoom: Stock with Root
Captivate: CM7 Nightly
Seems that all of a sudden, both the Xoom and the Captivate have been rendered useless. They had shared the same gmail account without issue, but I am unable to fix. Anytime something is downloaded, it fails.
I have tried the run of the mill fixes I've found from google searches and none of these seem to fix the issue. Has anyone had a similar problem and what worked for you?
Thank you.
We're going to need more detail than that, and you might try looking in the xoom forums for help with that.
i can expand on the situation:
anytime anything is downloaded from the market the response is 'download failed try again later'
both the xoom and the captivate have been working without issue for some time with the current setup. gmail seems to sync (sometimes) but NOTHING can be downloaded or updated from the market (either on the device or from the web)
the fact that both of them are doing the same thing leads me to suggest that you look into your wifi connection. (Router etc.) or try another wifi access point. Have you tried making up a new google acct. and trying to install market apps through it?
Do you also have a notification that says gtalk authentication failed? That issue happened to me one time and caused Market installs to fail and I reinstalled my ROM and that fixed it.

it is not the connection - one is trying OTA (phone) one is trying over WIFI (xoom) there are other devices connected to the router the xoom is on which are not experiencing issues. the phone has signal and gets data.
the phone has been odin'd to stock - cache, dalvik, and data cleared then permissions fixed and reflashed again.
g talk is signed in on the tablet
further - when authenticating with a different UID the phone is able to download and install without issue.

Your issue is being logged into the same account at the same time in 2 devices, it messes up the system. I have seen accounts getting licked because people have done this.

Same for me. I have two captivates using the same acct. with no problems.
I am not saying this is your issue just stating what I have seen. It was due to them being signed into the same account at the same time on different devices. While it could have been a glitch with their accounts it was the only thing I have seen that even remotely sounded like your issue.

Not sure about that. I have both my Galaxay Tab and my Captivate running with the same account right now. Last night I sent a bunch of games and apps from the Android Market website to both devices without any issues. Cracks me up to hear a notification for email alert coming from both devices at the same time (sometimes the tablet wins).
I wish I could help more than saying I don't have the issue at all
try this, it worked for me with the same issue withe my nook and captivate, log into gmail. change you password, both devices will come up with a log in error and ask for the new password or a new account, then update the password to the new one, then see if it works for you
I feel like this should be a simple task, but my tablet is not working the same as either of my phones have.
I change my Google Account password once a year or so, and I just changed it last night. When I did this previously my HTC Incredible, regardless of which ROM I was running, prompted me that it was unable to authenticate my Google Account, and allowed me to login again. Last night shortly after I changed my password, my Galaxy Nexus prompted me for my new password.
My ASUS Transformer did not, and still has not this morning. I've tried force stop/clear cache/clear data on the different Google Apps on the device. I cannot remove the account. I do not want to reset the device.
What can I do? This is obviously a bug or an issue with Honeycomb if I didn't have the issue on 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, or 4.0.

You can't manually log out of the account and relog in?
Some things since you were already logged in when the password change happened know that since you entered in the correct old password when it was still in effect that you are the owner and will not prompt you for the new password until you have to log in again.

Logging out and back in - I'm assuming you're referring to removing the account from accounts and sync and re-adding it? You can't do that once you have apps installed. Android will not let you.

So I either reset now or wait for the ICS update to resolve this issue, which will be next month if I'm lucky.
Even if rooted, there isn't a script I can run or something?
Any idea if this is something ASUS did or if Google literally changed this from 2.x to 3.x and back again at 4.x? If it's ASUS, then the ICS update won't fix my issue and I would need a AOSP ROM.

So I've been playing around with my nexus 5 and overall I'm pleased so far, however whenever I try to add reminders via Google Now, I keep getting the message "can't reach Google at the moment" (see screenshot)
This happens on WiFi and mobile data and have rebooted the phone to check if that may solve it (never know...).
I can add reminders via Google Keep however being able to add reminders directly from the home screen simply by talking is so much easier than adding them via Keep.
I've tried looking through the Google product forums however the content never seems to load on the page.
Anyone know if the reminders issue is a common bug or if there's a fix available for this?

You need to open the keep app first, so it signs in to your account.

I'm guessing people having problems with this are using a Google Apps account?
I have exactly the same issue with my gapps account but when using a standard gmail account all works as it should.
As mentioned, I think this is a wider issue, affecting SOME gapps accounts when used in conjunction with the N5. I say some as I have had a friend set up a test account for me in his gapps and it also worked perfectly.
I have spent hours going through my settings but have so far drawn a blank.
If anyone knows what is causing this, please share!
This happens to me, but it ONLY happens on wifi. As soon as I switch to mobile it works again.

I had this issue when I first got this phone about 2 days ago. I just tried to set a reminder on wifi and it worked for me. The only thing that has really changed are just apps and a few reboots, maybe the reboots did it? I honestly tried it out of the box and my service kept disconnecting, after that reboot all my issues were fixed. Doubt thatll fix the issue for you but who knows lol. I am also rooted, if that makesa difference
No amount of rebooting or even resetting to stock has cured this for me. I think it's server side - something to do with how the N5 talks to gapps servers. Only some though as I've tested it successfully with a friend's account. Odd.

I'm using a gapps account. Guessing by the responses it's something to do with this then. Ah well, will sit back and wait for ol' googs to trickle it down to gapps users then.
Not necessarily, it works with some gapps accounts and not others. Doesn't work with mine but had a friend set up an account for me on his and it worked perfectly. Its a very odd problem.

I'm on a Google Apps account too. Tried adding a second account from the same domain and that wouldn't work, but added a straight gmail account and it was fine. Very frustrating! I can't see anything obvious in the apps dashboard that migth be causing it.
tried Adding and Removing all my Google accounts but no luck through that method either.
Hi !
Undigging a very old thread, but I have the very same problem : I can't add a Google Now reminder with my GApps account, "can't reach Google at the moment".
I created a dummy Google account and it worked without any problem, instantly.
This thread is one year old, and I have been using Google Now reminders for a very long time without any problem. This bug just appeared some days ago. So what has happened to my GApps account ?
Has anyone here been able to fix this issue?
Thanks !
I'm having the same issue as well. Lollipop Nexus 4.
I find it very weird that this issue seems to have been going on for so long, without one definitive fix appearing. It started for me yesterday; I don't know if it's coincidence, but I fired up an old phone linked to the same gmail account in order to wipe it prior to selling on ebay. Then soon after doing that, I tried to set a voice reminder on my Nexus 5, and I got this error. I have never had a single problem before, but now I get the problem irrespective of whether I'm connected via wifi or 3g, at home or at work. Normal gmail account.
Tried turning Google Now cards off and back on again, tried clearing some related caches, tried signing out and back in to the google account.
Anybody got any suggestions.

Yep, I have one.
My problem was solved by setting my search domain to google.com.
I am in Belgium, and the default search domain for the Google App is the local one (google.be). Changing this setting in the google app worked like a charm. Of course, I don't have localized search results anymore though.
This setting is located in the Google app, under Settings > Accounts & Privacy > Search on google.com

Damn, you had my hopes up, but it didn't work for me; I changed the setting from local domain (google uk in my case) to google.com, no joy. Thanks for the reply though.
Maybe it's a clue, others have also suggested changing the search language to English (US) worked for them, it does point to certain areas of functionality as the cause.

Yes, in my case the problem is a combination of using a Google Apps account (with my own domain), and using a google.be domain for searches.
It seems that there are a lot of different problems that end up with the same error message. For some people, as you mentionned, just turning off Google Now then on again simply fixed it.
I'll be in France in some days, I'll try to witch back to using the local search domain (i.e. google.fr), and see how it goes. My Google Apps domain is a ".fr" domain, so there might be something to investigate here.
