I noticed that after installing AngryGPS as a system app, everything seems to work like butter. Just thought I would share since I don't have the posts to be able to reply to the developers section.
It didn't work for me.

You are exactly right as I just came to the same conclusion. It was the last piece missing to get butter enabled mostly properly. I will have a new build out soon or just have Scott merge my changes on his tree.
Thanks!

The download above is an apk....not a zip, let alone a cwm flashable zip...
Just download es file explorer from playstore(or other root explorer)
Enable root browsing under data
Copy the apk to /system/app

No problem...sorry if I was rude in my post above...
Anyways if its not a .zip then its impossible to flash with recovery...this doesn't mean all zips are flashable tho...what makes a zip flashable is an updater script located in meta-inf/google/android/ (I think that's the location...)

Never tried it personally...but is there that little space left on jb??? 107kb is too big-wow...personally I would probably delete some ringtones/notification sounds from system/media...as for apps...is have to look and see what's safe to remove that I would rarely usr
I mean...I knew there was a problem with space....didn't know it was that bad...

yeah its very bad. they are looking into making major changes to the partition layout. it sounds quite sketchy to do but it looks like a necessary risk.

so i trimmed out a bit of fat in the boot animation department and got it into /system/app after fighting with adb for a few minutes. but im still not getting any gps signal. is there something im missing here?
I was having the same issue with space, ended up just installing the file but left it in my DL folder and it was still successful.

Installed as a system app but still no GPS for me. "Searching for GPS..." on google maps(my gps is turned on).

I saw this in the q&a thread. Things are running very smoothly. So, it doesn't fix gps, but i swear things are smoother after installing. I'm not sure that angry gps is responsible out of its just my imagination. Could be both.

i am not either. My understanding based on his comment and everyone's feedback, this will not give you working gps. However, things might be smoother in other respects.

Does it work in your own language or EN-US only ?
I have tried those steps on stock ICS LRG 4.04, in french, and while the installation went through, I can't find any link to google now, either in widgets or apps or settings.
The original thread has a reference to the EN-US folder I'm missing in /system/usr/srec ....
thx alot for your tutorial it was clear and helpful.
i just wanted to point out that if you have voice search (the good old one) installed you should remove it in the same way
but keeping it doesnt alter proper functioning of google now.

Works but Offline Voice Search still doesn't
It's excellent, kudos to the devs working on it.
Typed queries work fine, and the performance is awesome. No double takes, no skewered display. Locations is working too.
However there are still issues, first and foremost is the offline dictation. It is as though as its waiting for more input, so it won't search even after receiving the query through the mic, leaving it in 'braille' and waiting for more.
Can't wait for the problem to be fixed though!

We have to figure out these things as we go. Finding an easier way will spread the Google Now goodness across more devices and that means more support for us. Maybe even JB sooner.

The Google Now file is down.
Could anybody do a reup, please?
Do check
I resolved my problem where the voice program only converts to braille and appears to be waiting for more input. It is because of a bad flash when your system partition has insufficient space to store the libraries and dictation component.
You'll need at least 30MB for the Online version and 60MB if you want offline dictation, which also works if you use Google voice typing.
Clean up your system partition with Root Explorer or Titanium Backup to make space for it. Especially those Live Wallpapers you don't use.
Ensuring you got enough space in system would also probably fix and FCs or other hiccups.
It runs very well on my Galaxy Note ICS 4.0.4 TW with Nova Launcher. Its visibly faster in recognition and the cards appear correctly. Excellent work, developers.

Edited 8/20/2012: Please go to THIS THREAD for further updates as continued development is taking place here and newer info is now available.
I made a flashable zip for Google Now based on This Thread
Theres a lot of different methods and files out there but some of the other methods dont seem to work for everyone. This one has worked for me and some others on ViperS rom specifically, and made it flashable for a very easy installation. Should work on all ics roms.
Note: Sorry for any issues earlier, hope all is fixed now.
1. MAKE A BACKUP BEFORE ANYTHING JUST TO BE SAFE.
2. Flash Away.

I thought I fixed this. I updated the mirrors so you may have the original corrupted file. The new file should be labeled SIGNED at the end. Make sure to delete google quicksearchbox from your system also beforehand. I reverted to a backup, and followed the above steps without issues.
Hope it works now!

Thanks for posting this. I got GNow working on my Sensation (Running ARHD) yesterday by following the instructions found here

I downloaded "mikeyxda APK version 2" Offline/online. It's easier to get working and doesn't require any deleting. Just a simple flash via recovery, confirmation of settings through a file manager and you're good to go.
Hope this helps anyone else. Screenshot attached for good measure.

Yea, that GoogleSearch.apk posted above is not from Leak#1.. you need one with this sha1 hash: d97306272d64c54817342b2d81e47d3d9090cecc - that's what the mini-ota from leak#1 to final ics is looking for.
And, why didn't you do as the Google Now install said and just name that GoogleQuickSearchBox.apk to .apk.bak..?
I am sure I have the proper apk somewhere on my home computer - I could send it later, if you don't have any luck by then.

Can someone share the unmodded one from 4.1.2?
I overwrote mine and can not get this transparent one to work. I keep getting problem with widget, and Touchwiz stopped responding errors. Permissions are set properly.
thanks

In case anyone needs it, I followed these instructions and was able to extract the original widget apk file and put it back.
Would've loved to have Accuweather Widget transparent, but I guess I need to be on a full rom instead of a barely modified stock one.

odex?
Couldn't get it to work on 4.1.2. I moved to /system/app, set permissions, and rebooted. I'm on a stock 4.1.2 odexed ROM. Will this only work for deodexed?
Update to origninal post
Ok Guys I posted a flashable zip in the 1st post. JBeitel and I both tested and it works fine. Enjoy!!!!

This is a MODDED App which includes More Libs and Functions modified by me.
ALSO This will be actively developed and extracted directly from K910 by me... i will work on it for sometime and as long as i am interested in it.
Happy Photography. ENJOY.
Thanks BSD and good luck for ur new project..
Works great on Xperia S ! So much reduced noise, can't stop zooming the pictures Thank you !!!
Edit: I am using a 4.1.2 chinese stock based rom, so I think there won't be any trouble for other stock based roms on xs
Just installing now. Changing permission of all those libs! Lol.

Nice job.
Thanks!!! For this
i've tried on samsung galaxy nexus with android 4.4.2 and it works. many functions! thank you very much!
Is there a special reason, that it doenst work on every device or rom...because it doenst work for my lg e975.
im new to this but how do you set these permissions
Thx for this mod.
It works great on Huawei P6, but i have the same problem as with original versions. I have no option to set the resolution, so i can only use 8MP in 4:3 on my Backcamera. For Frontcamera i can set the picture size.
could you think to do a flashable zip? we can install apk without problem, but if a user change rom often, it's a bit annoying copying and setting permission every time for all those lib files XD

the reason for manual copy-paste is to avoid unforeseen FCs or bootloops which might arise device to device and rom to rom. i will develop CWM version along with Manual Copy-Paste version in the coming Release, ofcourse with a warning note
