[Q] Guidance Please.. Totally Confused - General Questions and Answers

Hey guys,
I am planning to get a new android phone.. I am quite confused :\ Actually I own i9003 right now.. and the way samsung has treated to i9003 users I really hate samsung
Now coming to point I have shortlisted a few options.. And I really want a phone which can atleast last for 14-15 hours with Data+ auto sync on.. well screen won't be on all the time.. ( I prefer phone which are on / will get ICS or may be jelly bean very soon)
1. HTC One X
2. Samsung S3
3. Motorola Razr Maxx (GSM version)
4. Samsung Note
You can suggest a good phone if you know .. Btw I am from India so I don't have a wide choice as US though but still suggestions are most welcomed.
Please if you give your valuable opinion I will be really appreciating your time. Thanks in advance

Go for a HTC One X or Samsung S3, they got ICS out of the box, latest processors. I would probably choose HTC One X because it got nicer design and Tegra 3 chip inside but if you want a better battery, go for Samsung S3

I m from india too.
I would go for one x if i was in your place...

Thanks AzharYusri and prateek7791 for your opinion

Would also go for the one x. Actually have a version from India. Phone is beautiful

I would go for the Samsung Galaxy S3 it was the best decision I made! I was gonna get the One X but heard battery life was terrible
Sent from my GT-I9300

If you're into rooting and flashing custom roms, I have heard Samsung is easier to root and flash. So for that reason I would suggest Samsung SIII.
Plus the removable battery is a big factor for me, as I have a SII and change batteries very frequently when one dies.

its a matter of preference
well.. here's what i can say about the device.. so its really going to be your choice or basically your own preference..
1. HTC One X
pro - nice polycarbonate body, ICS out-of-the-box, quality build, tegra3 quad-core proccy which is good for gaming (but is only available for the international version, NA versions have the Krait dual-core version)
con - not really good battery life, non-removeable and non-replaceable battery
2. Samsung S3
pro - nice vibrant AMOLED 720p screen, ICS out-of-the-box, removeable and replaceable battery (option to get a larger capacity battery), newer Exynos quad-core with a new MALI GPU
con - plastic build (but who's really looking at the back of the phone right?), better battery life due to a large battery
3. Motorola Razr Maxx (GSM version)
pro - HUGE battery life, very little bloatware (but who cares if your gona root and install custom ROMs)
con - locked bootloader, dual-core processor (compared to newer models in its league)
4. Samsung Note
pro - HUGE AMOLED screen, S-pen, S-pen applications, thin and lightweight for its size
con - dual-core processor, bad battery life with the stock battery when browsing the web
*correct me if there is anything wrong with my comments..

U can try HTC explorer coz it has good battery backup using 1.5 days with data on always and moreover it is a good decent budget phone too:highfive:

Which Dual Core phone Is best?

i m going to buy the dual core phone but guys i dont have any idea that which dual core phone is best
i want gaming modding roms camera form phone so please guid me which one is best except latest release of smasung galaxy nexus and motorola razr
Why would you want the next best? Get the Galaxy Nexus.
If you're just about saving a few quid, and assuming you specifically want an Android handset pick up the galaxy s2... spec and performance is not far short overall, in some ways it's better.
HTC range? Seems to havegood support here.
Samsung Galaxy SII
In terms of specs/potential it is Note..in terms of specs/xda support it is GNexus.
REZOUND!
HTC Rezound is my pick.
Dual Core Qualcom MSM8660 with 1.5 GHz, 1GB of RAM and the best thing about the phone - 720P 4.3 Inch Display!!! better pixel density than even the retina.
i think Mi-One is the best choice atm but he's pretty hard to find...

The SGS2. one of the best dual core chips and its going to have ice cream sandwich soon.
The super AMOLED screen is superb too.

SGS II
My friend got one recently and I checked it out. SGS II is really good. It is definitely well equipped to handle ICS if you are interested in flashing CM 9, when the good folks come out with it.
I haven't 100% decided which phone I'm going to get yet either (between Nexus Prime, Razr, and Resound), though I'm leaning towards the Nexus Prime just because I know it will be the most open. I'm more than likely going to want Cyanogen on whatever I get. The Razr, though water and bullet proof, will probably be the most locked down out of the three :/
S2 /lock.

No, thanks, but I'll be getting a N9.
galaxy s2 >>> galaxy nexus
I'm more of an HTC fan myself, who's you're carrier? Are you gonna start a new contract? The galaxy has a very vivid display but it really depends on who you go through on what phone to pick;-)
HTC EVO 3d

I'm having a tough time picking between the new RAZR and the SGS II. I guess I'll have to go play with them both again.
GNexus for sure.
I would go for the Galaxy Nexus for sure. It may not have the most ram or the highest MP camera, but it is a high quality build and scores very well in benchmarks.
We'll have to see when the S2 gets a good working ROM though as ICS is fully optimized for dual cores with hardware acceleration.

choice a new phone?

i have make a search for a new best phone for me i cant choice wich one is the best
i was thinking about SAMSUNG I9100 GALAXY S II vs SAMSUNG GALAXY NOTE vs i phone 4 vs HTC Sensation vs Samsung Galaxy Nexus...which one you will suggest to me for the top use ?
My personal opinion I like the new Motorola Razr (Or Droid Razr in the US). 1GB RAM, Dual core 1.2cpu and seperate gpu. 16Gb internal with SD ext support. 8Mp Camera rather than 5.
The new Nexus is comparable but has 5mp camera and no external sd card support, which I just don't understand.
If you like the Galaxy, version 3 should be out 1st 1/4 of next year. That looks a beast.
you have to decide wither to go with Android or iOS.
if you want more apps, much much less customization go with iOS and buy iPhone 4/4s
------
if you want good amount of apps, customizable OS go with Android
then ask your self do I want a phone or a small tablet if you want a phone remove the note from your list
other phones in the market share the same specs: 1.2 dual core around 1GB ram
5-8 mb camera
I will go with HTC rezound (in US) or the Galaxy nexus or If you like the design of
Motorola Razr its good phone (my friend told me its camera is not that good)
my final personal choice will be the new Galaxy Nexus
You can't go wrong with Galaxy S II. It packs all the things we love in Android - big screen (but not too big), open bootloader, great power etc.
I just love the idea of "Pure Google" phones. I have a Nexus S that I love. I'd go for that if I were you, or even better, if you have the budget to afford it, for a Galaxy Nexus.
Pure Google phones = best support (quick system update deployment), no bloatware (I'm not a fan of TouchWiz, Sense and others).
Of course it is a bit irrelevant once you install CM on them, but there's something that makes me feel good to have the brand Google on the back of my phone.

and remember, tinkering with Apple stuff is a futile effort! unless you work for them. which i suppose is like a gang initiation in / out. basically apple-ites live on their own little planet.
I heard that the sound quality on the s2 is not as good as the first version.
i was thinking to buy the htc flyer but with the samsung note maybe i change my mind because i saw the specs for that device and i think is better to have 2 things in one devices and more more cheaper
In my opinion the Galaxy Nexus is the best you could get because you can be sure that Google will support this phone a long time and the hardware is really nice.
The second phone I would choose is the S2, brilliant screen and epic phone.
Hi, I had the Captivate, then upgraded to the SGSII. Now my wife has the Cappy. I just put a rom in the I777. Working great. I love the SGSII.
Just my 2 cents.
i decide that i wont buy an iPhone and i will stay with the awesome android OS.
but i want to learn more about the Samsung phones ...like how to root each of them and if i can root them.
what phone have the best screen from the others and the camera.
also about the best custom things like roms and hacks.
battery life and also the best and more important part what are the problems they have .
And if their is a compare video or site with all the samsung phone i am interesting
What about SG note? Weird that nobody recommends it

That is very simple, HTC Sensation.
It has design, beauty and class over others.
Get iphone because remember if u have an iphone, u don't have an iphone.

The HTC Sensation is very nice. I love mine. Even after buying the HTC Amaze I STILL use my Sensation. It feels very nice in the hand...and you can buy white battery covers which when combined with a new ROM, make you feel like you have a new phone.

I recently got a HD7 with windows phone, and i gotta say, its really nice.
its buttery smooth, fastest growing apps market, etc. the phone is also really nice, fast, good size, good weight, nice screen, not too bad of a camera (cant beat a real camera ofc, but still).
just my opinion.

i have seen the specs of the phone and its also awsome but noone want it ....why ???
does it have problem???
I think the Galaxy Not is a little bit too big for the most. But i would take it
As long as it fits in the pocket, its not too big(and has nice specs too)

Samsung galaxy s 2 vs htc one x

What are the pro's and con's of these two smartphones? Htc one x is newer, so better ?
I definitely like the way the HTC OneX looks (in white) over my SGS2... And the screen resolution is better on the one x as well. Sure it isnt SuperAmoled but i could live with that. I'm really not sure which one has the better camera..but the Htcs camera has a few features I would be interested in trying out. Also if having a non removable battery and no expandable micro sd storage bothers you. I would actually give the htc a try if they had the one x on sprint instead of that butchered version they're calling the evo 4 g lte...maybe its looks will grow on me..

I have a one x and love it. It is a better spec'd phone than the sgs2. What I would say about the S2 is that it run really good for an android. The one x is buggy and does some weird stuff the s2 probably works better than any other android.

i read many articles about smartphones, and the htc one-series are a bit better than the sgs2 - imo. and the haptics/quality of htc-phones are better than the samsungs.
samsung is famous because their design ( not in S3 i think it look weird)
one X is a bit stronger then s2 but i will choose s2 because it look better.
samsung is more famous i believe however htc seems better to me with better screen resolution

It's the same 720p resolution.
Of course go with HTC!
Does the USB jig work with any HTC phone? Didn't think so. I'll stick with Samsung please and thanks.
depends on carrier, both phones have different socs based on carrier. Get one with qualcomm 8960. Krait, adreno225, lte on 28 nm process ftw

Two things that I dislike about the one x is the no SD card slot and non removable battery. They aren't total deal breakers, but still big points.
Though, I haven't looked into the S2 much, I'm not even sure if it does have those two things.
Honestly, One X vs SGS3 is a more fair comparison
»Tegra 3 / Qualcomm S4 > Dual Core Exynos
»4.7 SLCD2 720p > 4.3 WVGA SAMOLED+
»Policarbonate Body > Plastic
»One X camera > SGS2 camera
»Sense 4 > Touchwiz 4 (opinion based)
Still, SGS2 has removable battery and expandible storage

hmmm,,, one x
Samsung galaxy s2 is better.
Fan boy
I have Samsung , but I am not fan boy(I think they are like apple fan) I ovviously prefer Htc one x , a very performant smartphone from a very serious society
Of course htc one x!! .. coz it has quad core processor, I'm sure it is better than galaxy s2 .. except you challenged htc one x with sgsiii.. it will be a different story

htc is famous for build quality... no jig but htc has official boot loader unlocking and still covers warranty after that (hardware wise of course)

What device is the best for me?

Hi guys,
I have a question i didn't know where to post this concedering its not for a particular device or platform so i posted it here any way here is my question i have a HTC EVO 3D and i want to upgrade, why do i want to upgrade 2 reasons number one screen size its too small i had a GALAXY Note so when i went back to the EVO its small and the second one is the Processor its fast but not too fast anyway i was planning on buying the GALAX S III international version when it comes out but after i saw the price i was surprised its 800$ for the 16 GB so im stuck with the following and i need an advice (of course if by the time the S III comes out the price drops to around 600-650 i'll buy it )
Here are the phones im thinking of (and if u have other phones please tell me)
1- HTC One X international version
2-HTC Titan II
3-GALAXY Note
Please help thank you.
Sent from my GT-P7500 using XDA Premium HD app
I'd go for the Note. Cheaper and overall better. Sure the One X is quadcore, but Tegra kinda sucks so the extra buck you have to add isn't really worth it. Titan is quite meh.
Sent from my Lumia 800 using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
Go for the One X , the screen is better the CPU is very fast and the GPU with custom roms increase the phones overall performance. I would only recommand the GALAXY Note if you email a lot because it feels like the note is designed for the business person in mind.
I don't know what kind of prices you got there guys but here the Note is about 200€ cheaper than the One X, which isn't that much better, not like 200€-better for sure IMHO. It actually is inferior for some aspects, like screen size (and pentile ain't bad on a 5.3"), removable battery, sd slot, and that pen thing that is mostly a gimmick but oh well. Once it gets even cheaper I'll definitely pull the trigger on one of those. I used one for a day last week, coupled with an extended battery and a Rii Keyboard it proved to be a very nice and portable mini tablet, the tablet mode you get on AOSP ROMs is also pretty sick. Not a great fan of those new Htc phones with locked bootloaders and all that jazz. ICS sources for the Note have just been released by the way, even better ROMs will come very soon, even tho AOKPs are already 99% hack free and rock solid.
Sent from my Lumia 800 using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
Use a website like phonescoop.com to compare them side-by-side. See exactly what each specs are and which one has the specs you really care about. That would be of great help.

HTC Sence UI beats Note in 100 ways
Why not the nexus. Its much cheaper than the s3 and its a great phone. Still one of the best and probably the best price/goodness ratio.
galaxy note is the best
i have one and it's greate
I like the GALAXY Nexus cause of its display and stock ICS but i use SD Card so i need a phone with an option to expaned my memory but i kept the HTC One X cause of its Quad Core Processor

I dont know the price is kinda of an issue but and the screen size (im a fan of the 5"screens) its of course better in preformance no doubt but im from the few fans of the Touchwiz UI its more simple than the Sense UIor maybe cause im used to it i had 3 devices with TouchWiz so i find it easier but still the HTC One X stunning camera, preformance and display is a plus

Ok but the One X have a worst battery than the EVO 3D....
Galaxy Note or Galaxy S2.. with additional batteries

I dont know but HTC devices tend to have bad battery life for some reason LOL

Galaxy Note very big I think.. You can't touch all screen by one hand, sometimes I you'll need that.. S2 The Best!
HTC good but not good enough
It's a year in, and I'm still really enjoying my Samsung infuse. true 4g would be nice, but the devs are working on Miui ICS and it looks awesome
i used all of them. my advice is : GALAXY Note is a good one if you don't mind the big size. then chose GALAXY S2 !

4g is good.. very good.. great, but in some places there is no 4g unfortunately only 3g or worst.
I'd like my S2 to have 4g, but it's not.. Maybe you'd better wait for S3?
I dont mind the big screen actually i want something bigger than 4.3" i dont know why many people think its too big im really into big devices but not over 5.3" cause that would be really inconvienent for a mobile phone thats why i kept in mind choices like the HTC Titan 1/2 cause i really like the Metro UI and WP is kinda between the line of simplicity and costumizations still android is the best im freaking confused guys tell me more about ur experiance with the devices ur advising thanks

Nexus 4, HTC one or galaxy s4?

I'm due an upgrade now, and can't decide which to upgrade to. From what I've read so far, it's looking like the s4 would be the best one to go for, but does anyone know if the 8 core version will be out in the Uk?
Which one out of the three would you go for and why?
I'd take Htc One for its materials, I never liked the plastic of the galaxy!! Alternatively would take the Nexus 4 for its price and updates Sorry for my bad English
HTC One IMO , i think HTC did a great job with this one .. the amount of detail and little thing like the speakers for example just making it more attractive then other devices like the N4 and S4 .
Must say I do like the sound of the HTC one having front facing stereo speakers.
all will be great.. look on what you want in smartphone..
update first will be nexus phone
s4 new generation cpu n fast
htc one camera using ultrapixel
Looking at the reviews on GSMarena the HTC one camera is terrible compared to the s4. But other reviews for the one state it's good?
Anyone got any experience with the HTC one camera yet?

It is crapppy.
Couldn't even win against note 2, forget s4. ( see the video by pocketnow on YouTube.)
And the octa core version won't be available in UK. It's only snapdragon 600 quad core.

LIFE!
IT'S WHAT YOU MAKE OUT OF IT!
Depends what's important to you.
Want updates first and don't want to spend much? Nexus 4
Want premium build quality and solid build? HTC One
Want expandable storage and swappable battery? S4
*disclaimer: I have an HTC One. The camera is fine, but I came from a Galaxy Nexus. If all you do us upload to FB/Twitter it's more than good enough, and Zoe is actually quite fun.
I saw all of these specs, s4 was fine...
I just read that Samsung have ditched their stock keyboard for swiftkey4, is that right? That's a chink in the armor then, as I need the t9 layout and can't stand that swiping rubbish. I could always install another keyboard, but the user dictionaries never seem to work as well for some reason.

This is the only logical response. They're all great, buy the phone based on your needs.
Nexus 4 is the best bang for buck but lacks LTE if you care for it.
HTC One has the best battery life but limited storage options
Galaxy S4 will the best performing phone (camera, benchies) overall but the priciest. IMO, it looks very ugly in comparison with the other two. Honestly: It looks like a bar of soap.
Galaxy s4 for it's rock hard performance
Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk 2
the thing is we really don't need performance that s4 have, htc device have some problems with rooting, custom roms and stuff soo nexus 4 all the way
The one's performance won't be far off the s4's performance since it's the same processor and gpu. Granted the s4 has been overclocked to 1.9ghz instead of 1.7ghz, but that's easily sorted if you root it. They both have 2gb of ram too, although the s4 has ddr3 instead of ddr2, won't make a huge difference though, so I think it'll come down to which ui is the most bloated.
It's only the octa core version of the s4 that should be a decent improvement, but that's apparently not even coming to my side of the pond.
Well I had a play on a note 2 today and was impressed, the display was brilliant and touchwiz wasn't anywhere near as ugly as I'd remembered on earlier Samsungs. So, decision made, a black galaxy s4 will be at my door on launch day! Thanks for the input guys!
nexus
well nexus 4 is d best of alll:good:
The nexus 4's hardware isn't as good as the other two, and it also seems to be the least sturdy when dropped.
I'm more like the Samsung. Even despite their poor support.
s4 has 5", htc one "only 4,7" at the same size
samsung has the new edge to edge
