Which Dual Core phone Is best? - General Questions and Answers

i m going to buy the dual core phone but guys i dont have any idea that which dual core phone is best
i want gaming modding roms camera form phone so please guid me which one is best except latest release of smasung galaxy nexus and motorola razr

Why would you want the next best? Get the Galaxy Nexus.
If you're just about saving a few quid, and assuming you specifically want an Android handset pick up the galaxy s2... spec and performance is not far short overall, in some ways it's better.

HTC range? Seems to havegood support here.

Samsung Galaxy SII

In terms of specs/potential it is Note..in terms of specs/xda support it is GNexus.

REZOUND!
HTC Rezound is my pick.
Dual Core Qualcom MSM8660 with 1.5 GHz, 1GB of RAM and the best thing about the phone - 720P 4.3 Inch Display!!! better pixel density than even the retina.

i think Mi-One is the best choice atm but he's pretty hard to find...

The SGS2. one of the best dual core chips and its going to have ice cream sandwich soon.
The super AMOLED screen is superb too.

SGS II
My friend got one recently and I checked it out. SGS II is really good. It is definitely well equipped to handle ICS if you are interested in flashing CM 9, when the good folks come out with it.

I haven't 100% decided which phone I'm going to get yet either (between Nexus Prime, Razr, and Resound), though I'm leaning towards the Nexus Prime just because I know it will be the most open. I'm more than likely going to want Cyanogen on whatever I get. The Razr, though water and bullet proof, will probably be the most locked down out of the three :/

S2 /lock.

No, thanks, but I'll be getting a N9.

galaxy s2 >>> galaxy nexus

I'm more of an HTC fan myself, who's you're carrier? Are you gonna start a new contract? The galaxy has a very vivid display but it really depends on who you go through on what phone to pick;-)

I'm having a tough time picking between the new RAZR and the SGS II. I guess I'll have to go play with them both again.

GNexus for sure.

I would go for the Galaxy Nexus for sure. It may not have the most ram or the highest MP camera, but it is a high quality build and scores very well in benchmarks.

We'll have to see when the S2 gets a good working ROM though as ICS is fully optimized for dual cores with hardware acceleration.

The BEST overall Android phone?

Alright, Im just wondering, what is the BEST android phone currently available?
By BEST, I mean best overall, if you were to rate the phones on everything they do, and give them a score, what phone would have the highest score?

SGSII, SGNote and the SGNexus.
SGS2 best combination of:
•Screen Tech (super amoled plus)
•Performance (1.2 ghz dual core exynos)
•Memory (16gb + microSD and 1gb RAM)
•Cameras (great quality 8mp with 1080p video and 2mp FFC)
•Support (Samsungs current flagship and garanteed ICS)
Another vote for the SII. Thin, light and feature packed. ICS will make it the best android phone on the market until the next Gen phones roll off the assembly lines.
International s2

awesome!
hard pick at the moment, but samsung for sure.
the nexus for its amazing highres screen, but the s2 for its speed.
i guess i'd have to go for speed and the go for the s2.
IMO, a pick between:
SG S2
SG Note
SG Tablet 7.7
all those 3 are the best on the market currently

HTC Amaze IMO
Nexus i would say.
+1 for the samsung galaxy note. Not just because I have one, but because I chose to buy it.
Samsungs probably are the best Android phones. I think maybe LG would be another good one now. But HTC...I just can't stand Sense and that terrible phone app. The only good HTC phones will come with WP7 because MS forces HTC to leave out Sense and use the exclusive WP7 phone app.
If I buy another Android phone, it will likely be a Samsung or LG. If I buy another HTC, it will be a WP7 phone.
Hmmn, if you don't like sense, aosp? Samsung do have nice displays/processors but it all depends on your carrier and preferences, I'm gonna hold out for the first quad-core... Unless you need it yesterday, I would wait, just an opinion...
i would not pick S2 now because of it's lower screen resolution compare to note and nexus
s2 800 x 480
nexus 1280 x 720
note 1280 x 800

Best Android phone on the market?

So what is it? I'm switching carriers soon and would like to know who to switch to. I'm really asking in terms of speed, screen clarity, and the overall cool factor.
Also, could you be specific as to why? You know, specs, etc.

No, the best phone out there would be right now the galaxy s2, this is why:
-Exynos 1.2 gHz processor: much better than qualcomm no matter what (surpassed maybe by the S4 or the Tegra 3 but not yet released)
-Better 8 mp camera: The sensors used by this camera are excellent (maybe only surpassed by the iPhone 4S sensors).
-Mali 400 GPU: One of the best gpu existing today in the market only found in a couple of phones (again maybe only surpassed by the nonreleased chip of the MWC)
-Super Lightweight: One of the lightest phone that some may say it feels cheap but dont
-Super Thin: One of the thinnest phone today only surpassed by the RAZR and other unknown phones.
-Super Amoled Plus screen: Wonderful screen with surprising colors that amaze everyone and with its plus technology it makes a more resolution effect although its only 800x480
this would be some of the reasons of why to choose it
here are my two cents hope it helps, thank if i helped

I have to agree here. While I do agree the SII is better (yeah I'm a GNex owner and my butt is a bit hurt from it) I don't see the margin of difference terribly large. The GNex is still an outstanding phone.
how much is "soon"?
If I was in your shoes, I would prob wait for Samsung galaxy S3.
I agree the international version of S2 is the best, the galaxy nexus does have a excellent screen, one of the best noise cancellation to be found on a phone. Top 3 android phones until Tegra 3 hits is Galaxy S2, Galaxy Nexus, Droid Razr Maxx.
Wait for GalaxyS3
I have a galaxy s and its amazing. I cant wait for the galaxy 3
Sony Xperia S, it's got a 12mp camera. The best in Android
This is 3vo CDMA (sprint) not GSM (tmo, att, or a carrier that gives a sim card)
EVO 3D. Even though 3D code is only for sense 3.0, the 3vo has quite possibly the best selection of rooms I have ever seen. So far we have:
1. AOSP
2. CM7
3. Sense 3.0
4. Sense 3.5
5. Sense 3.6 (work in progress, or wip)
6. Sense 4.0 (wip)
7. Evo view 4g sense (tablet rom on 3vo)
8. ICS 4.0.3 (only issue is camera)
9. CM9 (same as ics)
And maybe more.!
Not to mention our various tweaks, amazing quadrant scores, dual core processor, 1.5 gHz STABLE over clock with good battery life still (we can go up to 1.8 but its unstable and can pretty much destroy your phone), dedicated developers, qHD screen, and soooooo much more. You should check us out
Plus, with the recent hboot downgrade ability, our phone is now "unofficially unbrickable" which means I can do ANYTHING to it and I can restore it. This phone, even with a select number of issues, is by far the strongest competitor in specs, deving, performance, etc.

I feel it is the galaxy note international version (the non snapdragon version) with its 1.4ghz cpu. Granted the new gen of SoC tech will be better than this but as far as current day is concerned I feel galaxy note is the best. Granted some people hate the huge screen and I understand that but the big hi res screen is just too great to me.

Just a couple points. The galaxy nexus doesn't use a Qualcomm processor. It uses a TI OMAP. If the Exynos is better, it isn't by much.
The GPU is a PowerVR which is probably weaker than the Mali but still decent. It runs Grand Theft Auto III really well, which is the most demanding thing I'd ever do on a phone GPU wise.
The screen on the Nexus is also AMOLED but full 720p (1280×720) instead of the 800X480 on the S2. It is pentile but the resoultion is so much higher it more than makes up for it. This is clearly a winner for the Nexus IMO.
Also the real pros in buying a Nexus:
Faster official updates and completely stock ICS (no touchwiz, sense, motoblur, etc)
Xperia nominated?

Sony may not have the most cutting edge tech in their phones, but I know they are polished quite well. It was Sony Xperia S coming with GB, not ICS that held it back in my mind. Any ways it will update eventually. Please check out my thread, its a discussion of a similar manner.

[Q] What are the best Dual Core phone to buy?

Hi there im gonna buy a new phone and i want to know what is the best dual core phone if you can mention at least 5 to 10 phones would be nice thanks .
I have an Evo3D. It's a decent phone, but HTC support for devs sucks, so you may find it hard to find 100% working ROMs to load.
galaxy s2, rom development is insane. LG optimus 2x is good as well.

But if you're looking for a lot of development, get a Samsung.
If I helped, please say thanks
HTC Vivid, but yeah, Samsung has a lot more development going on.
what about Atrix 2 and 4g or LG Optimus ? im not fan of the S2
I would personally take the Galaxy Nexus for it's dev support and on-time updates (It's a Nexus!)
But if you want sheer power in a Dual Core phone, I would wait for One S (Snapdragon S4) or take the Galaxy Note (Best Exynos yet). But with Quad cores just around the corner, you could wait for them.
I would say for the money, HTC Sensation 4G.
Mine is running at 1.62 GHz and kicks my friend's Samsung Galaxy Nexus's butt in benchmarks.
Cant beat this for $99 with contract or $250 on Ebay
Dual Core 1.2 GHz (Stock) Easily OC to 1.5+
768 MB RAM
4.3 Inch QHD Super LCD
8MP CAM, Dual Flash

Galaxy S III VS Galaxy Note?

Is there really any competition with these phones or does one blow away the other hands down?
Sent from my Dell Streak using XDA Premium App
Well since we have no idea what the official specs of the SGS3 are we can't really say. All we have is rumors, but some of the thing we can be fairly certain about are the exynos quad processor, a 720p screen, an 8-10MP camera, and a screen size ranging from 4.5-4.8". The main difference will be the processor and the screen size. If you want a hybrid phone/tablet the note will be best, if you are looking for pure performance then the S3 will give you the best results. You can't say one will blow the other one out of the water without solid spec sheets and an idea of what you want in the phone.
I am excited for Thursday. I hope that we don't only hear about the SGS3, but maybe some intel on when the TMobile version of the Note will be released.
I am going for the Note. Buying an international version is not an option for me financially, so it rules out these quad-core processors, which are probably not needed right now anyway.
I am still using a TMobile G2, and it does everything I need it to do. It only has 1 core I am sure at like 800 mhz, though I am overclocking it right now due to the fact that it makes it easier to run. Either way, that processor can't be as nice a the Galaxy Note's dual-core 1.5 ghz processor.
Quad cores are just being used in desktop computers really, so it's no surprise that you shouldn't really NEED it for a phone. I don't know the official technicalities to backup my statement, but it seems common sense.
I will look forward to having the GNote specific applications, S pen, and screen real estate. Can't wait!
S3. Only reason to get Note over GS2 is screen/pen. Not worth it imo.
Sent from my SGH-I777 using xda premium
Not a fair competition at all. S3 should be compared to phones of the same calibre, like the HTC One X.
im sure someone will do a competition of these two phones. Even whitout the S3 full specs we all know who will win.
Quadcore is more than necessary for me
One phone!

i think the SG S3 will be the same as the Note ( pen included ) but with a 4.6 screen
Each have their pluses and minuses. The GS3 will have the latest and greatest hardware and ICS out if the box, but the Note will have the bigger screen and S-Pen.
But seriously you're considering a phone already 6 months old vs a phone that will just be announced tomorrow. I love my Note and it has worked flawlessly for me, but I know after tomorrow it won't be the best hardware wise compared to the GS3. But that doesn't mean the Note is a slouch at all. The good thing though is I have my work phone with Sprint and my upgrade is June 30, so I may pick up the GS3, so best of both worlds!

IiI can relate to the question I have a gsii and I really lobe the note. I will wait to deer what the new galaxy offers this weekend. I live near the brand new Samsung shop in Westfield next to the Olympic site and they reckon that the should have demo models this Saturday following the event tonight.
I only wish there were a gnote2 being announced. I love the idea of stylus
and big screen.
I have high expectations for GS3. Let's see what they have to offer for us today.
Anyway, I like my GS2 better than Galaxy Note already, so it seams clear to me that GS3 will also be better.
hummm, i like Galaxy S III better.
How do you like HUA WEI Ascend P1
BTW, I'm still waiting for media pad 10 fhd of HUA WEI
There will be quite a big difference according to the specs!
Well we will see at 7pm today
The SGS3 will be more popular than the Note, because the SGS3 is the direct concurrention of the HTC One X, iPhone etcetera.
If a phone gets really popular, you get extra things from the producer, like firmware upgrades etcetera.
Pick SGS3 after 7pm.
PS it is being expected the SGS3 will arive at the stores in approx 7 days
hahaha note vs a quadcore baby doesnt stand a chance find out today at 7:00pm GMT London time
according to leaked specs the s3 will have a 12mp camera a 4412 quadcore processor clocked at 1.5ghz
a mali 400(same as in the s2 just clocked much higher)
a 4.8 inch 720p HD regular RGB matrix not pentile
wireless charging (big maybe wuold be cool but unlikely)

S2 -> Faster processor than GNexus (very fast GPU as well), MicroSD card slot, NFC (for the AT&T i777 and i9100T, which is the same as the i9100 but also has NFC. The AT&T model is based off this one). Low res 800 x 480 screen, but looks higher because of Samsung's screen technology. Non-pentile. Lots of development for AT&T and i9100 models. Easily rooted (Samsung's bootloader allows it). No notification light for non-Sprint model. Note that the Skyrocket/LTE/T-Mobile models do not use Samsung's Exynos processor; they use slower Qualcomm Snapdragons and are not real S2's. And the i9100G is not a real S2, it uses a TI-OMAP processor.
GNexus -> Developer phone, made to be rooted and ROM'd. No MicroSD expansion. 16GB for GSM, 32GB for CDMA models. 720p (very high-res) screen. TI-OMAP processor is slower than the S2's Exynos, but still good for gaming and still smooth. 4.65 inch screen vs 4.3 inch on the i9100/i777 GS2. Basically a slightly slower S2 with no microSD slot and a higher res screen.
Galaxy Note - Slightly faster than S2 (1.4 GHz vs 1.2 GHz), I believe 720p screen on 5.3 inches (no pixelation). It's a phablet; in between a tablet and a phone but still manageable and fits in pockets. Has a capacitive stylus; it works on touch screens and doesn't require any pressure. Again, the AT&T/LTE versions use Qualcomm Snapdragons which suck for heavy gaming like GTA III, Shadowgun etc (i717). The international one uses an Exynos like the S2 but @ 1.4GHz instead of 1.2GHz to deal with the higher-res screen.
Personally, I was let down with the GNexus because the processor is old and no MicroSD slot but it's a good dev phone. I'd go for an S2 or a Note.
I'm not a great fan of Samsung's Nexus devices, the only use the leftovers of the Galaxy line for those. The Gnex has that pentile display and not so good battery life. IMHO the Note/GS2 are overall faster devices, especially the GS2 with its lower res. I'd pick the Note if I were you: great battery life and one of the best screens around. You probably won't get JB tho...

I agree with this guy^
While the Galaxy Nexus is great for development and day to day use, it uses year-old parts while the Exynos processor in the GS2 and GNote is the fastest available next to the Tegra 3 and S4 Krait. It's still a mid-high end phone (both the GNote/GS2) while compared to current processors the GNexus is more of a mid-range phone.
The i9100 and GNote have as much development as the Galaxy Nexus to be honest.

Pretty much a higher res screen and "official development device" status. It'll also be the first to get Jelly Bean officially from Google, not that it matters since the devs here always port ROMs over to other devices effortlessly.
Also, the reason the Galaxy Nexus has a TI-OMAP processor in it and not an Exynos is because Samsung/Google didn't want to build two versions of the device: One GSM/HSPA+ and one CDMA/LTE. Exynos doesn't do LTE, which is why phones like the Skyrocket have the ****ty Snapdragon S3 in them.

Exynos, at least the current-gen, doesn't work with LTE or 1700 MHz (T-Mobile's 3G/4G frequency). All carriers are going LTE, and I'm not sure if the new Exynos is LTE-compatible, which means it won't work on any US carriers. So we'll end up having a Skyrocket/T-Mobile SGS2 situation where the phones use a Snapdragon S4, which is the only processor that can do LTE.
America got served. Everybody else got raw power.
