English T-Mobile MDA Compact ROM provided by Nowicom at last! - Wednesday 8 December
Nowicom have at last provided their customers with an English version of the MDA Compact / i-Mate Jam ROM for their customers to download and install. The procedure requires a blank SD card and an SD Card Reader, and a lot of downloading time! There are two files to download:
1 - The ROM itself (230MB). http://www.nowicom.com/dl/mda_compact_upd_en_1.zip
2 - The installation tools and guide (24Mb). http://www.nowicom.com/dl/mda_compact_upd_en_2.zip
The procedure involves copying the ROM onto your SD card using the ntrw tool and your card reader, inserting the card into your phone and flashing the phone. More information on the subject can be found in this thread, except it appears that you don't need to go through the process of using the hex editor if you use the Nowicom version of the ROM - it's a one-size fits all solution. I get lots of "Page cannot be found". I'll try later...

I tried to restore my original T-Mobile ROM using my sd-card according to the manual in this thread. I used the ntrw tool (2.0) to write to my sd-card. This went fine, it wrote the nb1 file on the disk.
After that I hard-resetted my MDA Compact (Camera+Power+soft reset), but it didn't start downgrading my ROM. In fact, it didn't start anything!
It reaches the bootloader mode (dark screen with serial on it), but then it doesn't start anything from my sd-card.
I tried 3 different cards, but no result.
Anyone the same problem and/or know a solution?

Hello everyone,
I'm new to this board and I read nearly all threads about MDA. I bought my T Mobile MDA Compact 2 weeks ago from Germany. Yesterday while I was trying to change its language to English its locked. I installed Windows 2003 SE then device restarted but not open anymore. Now I can not open it. When I try to open it on the top of the screen it writes "Seial" and at tthe bottom it writes "1.00 Version". What should I do? I need immediate assistant; can anybody help me to make my MDA Compact working again?

Problably lots of people already asked this. Believe it or not, I searched the forum and i didnt sow that many information about it. I have a mda compact customized with t-mobile software. Basacly I want to take the T-mobile Stuff out, it dosnt even let me set up a gprs account for another operator.
Any help would be thankfull

your best bet would be to get the device unlokcke, ( see the unlock tool in the general section of the forun for the unkocl all in one tool) and then upgrade the rom with that of an imate's or qtek's

I would like to have my Orange m500 clean too! Only with the applications i'd like to use.
Can this only be done with installing those extendedRoms? Its very difficult for me to find a clear tutorial about this.

The ext-rom brands your magician. When you want to get rid of it just
- make a backup of calendar, contacts, tasks etc.
- hard-reset
- folow initialize procedure on screen
- soft-reset as soon as you get the standard WM background & before the customizatiin (=branding) starts.
You need to do this last step after every hard-reset unless you go for BIG Storage & completely wipe-out the ext-rom & get a storage folder of 27Mb instead of 7Mb.
Instructions for BS are to be found on the forum. No need to search for a special rom, you can do it with your current rom.

Hello, I am a newbie to this forum, but I have already read many posts before making my first thread. I have HTC HD2 (LEO), I have installed NAND Android (dorinmax ROM) with CWM 7, it works perfectly, the system is stable. I made it with SWAP & with SD EXT partition 1GB, no issue till then. But I have problem with market, I get error "Error downloading "Angry birds" there is insufficient space on the device" everytime I try to download and install ap bigger then 2.5 MB, so I am really confused, I have read all possible themes about it, like coding in terminal, wiping cache or Davlik cache and others. also I tried to install marketfix (didn't help). So I have tried all possible options except downgrading Market (but I don;t know how, mine is 3.4 already installed with dorinmax latest ROM). So someone, please help with us. Thank all of you in advance. I would be appreciated if devepoler of dorinmax ROM will answer & help to asssist. Cheers!

Hey guys, aren anybody concerned about it. I downloaded & installed this android for many apps! and what I get - market that doesn't work. it took me 5 hours to do that. and know I understand that new version of this google market doesn't work and they have no solution. I'll donate a small sum for those developer who will help me fix this or downgrade my market so it will work again.

Problem with Auto-installer Xperia CWM

Hi guys.
I have read (or tried to understand the lack of knowledge of English very well) the thread of this program to install the CWM in a Neo V, I have something I did wrong qeu clear, as I have tested this Termianl qeu peuden users install the CWM program downloaded from the market.
I have a Neo MT11i V with firmware 2.3.4 and complication 4.0.2.A.0.42, made the following SuperOneClick with 2.3.3 (I have the locked bootloader by Orange) and backup programs titanium , Rom ToolBox Pro System Tuner and Busybox instaler (if existiense incompatibilities with any of them).
The fact is that I get to my terminal does not support this program, which seems very strange to see, as I said before, that many users with my terminal does not have the same problem.
Since I can not make a catch, I detail the options that I listed and the status thereof:
Available root access: To have it done with the SuperOneClick, I get seen with a white on blue background.
Phone model: MT11i. I get a white cross on red background.
Phone not tested!: I get a white cross on red background.
Reboot to recovery: I get this option, but not see anywhere the option to install the CWM ...
Run Nandroid: I guess qeu igalmente as above. Unable to install the CWM ...
Report problems: I tried using that option, but it was forever trying to get at the end I decided to cancel.
About the application and more: em alone version provides data contributors who have helped translate into different languages ​​and so on. I get that is version 3.0 (for what it's worth).

i am barely new to this and my first question is: is a ROM the same as a TFT file (which includes .sin)?
my problem is that i installed ICS on my Xperia Arc and just fully configurated it without making a backup after the clean install. i wanted to make a backup after my full configuration. during configurating my phone, i installed ICS Browser+. I didnt realize that this is just an extension to the existing Browser.apk and removed Browser.apk. Now my browser does not work anymore. Before i set everything back, i wanted to ask you, community, if its possible to extract this single APK from the TFT file i have used (finding here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1598072)
if so, i could save me some hours of configuration what would be very very nice :/

You can reflash your FTF without wiping data. Should do it.

it worked. i had to change some things back again (deleting branded apps, activating go launcher ..) but that was easier todo then set the whole device up again. now i made a backup
