I was wondering if someone on rooted stock with TWRP could see if chainfire 3D works on the infinity. I'd try it myself but I want to keep my bootloader locked for warranty purposes and as such don't have backups as a safety net if it bootloops.
I mainly want it for its night mode filter, so if someone can recommend a less invasive way to achieve that, that would also be appreciated.
Edit: Decided to just risk bricking and installed it. It doesnt bootloop, but the nightmode on it does not work. If someone can recommend an app that makes the screen only show the red portion of RGB, I'd greatly appreciate it. Not really expecting something like that to exist though.

how did you make it work? CWM? I am on latest WW with root only, no cwm or unlock. I tried installing driver but after a few minutes CF3D said, "installing mounting /system read/write" and then after that it said "ERROR could not write to /system".

Try Lux Dash instead. Has a mode called "Astronomer mode" (see screenshot as example). By the way it manages the auto brightness better than the Asus tool.
Cheers,

Tried again with cold boot and it works now

I have a treo 750. Its used and I don't know what the guy before me tried to do with it, but it looks like all he did was install the official WM5 to WM6 update. My problem now (and part of the reason he sold it) is that there seems to be some serious screen corruption. I'm inclined to think there may be a driver issue? I cant even see the bootscreen. All I can see are a couple of vertical and horizontal bars (mostly around the top) with a multicolor spectrum. The rest of the screen is blank. Hard-reset, soft-reset, neither works to fix it. Oddly, if I access the device through MyMobiler and regedit/change to font to something that it hasn't used before (ex. calibri, arial) it seems to bring it back to life... still no boot screen, but the os will work fine. If I put it in standby mode and then try and bring it back on, I'm back to the corrupt screen. At the moment I've turned off the power-idle feature and just let it go to backlight off while leaving the device on all the time, but I cant leave it like that forever. Any thoughts? Am I able to update the display driver or something?
PS. Display works on my PC through MyMobiler with no problem.
Thanks in advance.
having exact same problem
I am having the exact same problem. The only way to avoid the display corruption seems, like you said, to avoid putting the phone in standby mode... but then leaving it like that all day will drain the battery very fast, obviously.
I'm curious as to what the cause is. My phone is out of warranty already. Purchased summer 2007.
rjackets, have you done anything since your post?
Hey i Still have the same problem, did anyone find an answer yet?
Is this what you're seeing? http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Bootloader.jpg
no, it's like all the 1st vertical pixels get extended to the right end and the lines keep flashing, i kind find my battery atm but it looks something like this texture, just with pixels:

This is my first app for android
The main purpose of this application is to help people with low vision.
WHAT IS DOING?
When you can't see something from screen, shake the phone and then you can pinch to zoom, wherever you are
STOCK or CUSTOM?
STOCK is for stock roms and CUSTOM is for custom roms like cyanogen7 or MIUI.
Sometimes CUSTOM MODE works on STOCK ROMS.
!!!- ATENTION :
UNFORTUNATELY, YOU NEED TO ROOT YOUR PHONE IN ORDER TO USE THIS APP

thank you... i'll try it
Sorry ,I did not notice your ROOT caution.
My set is not rooted .Hopefully it will work for others.
HTC Explorer,android 2.3.5
not working on sgs2...
what am i doing wrong..?
I cant get it to work on Galaxy note(n7000).
Doesn't work on Razr
Just rooted my razr on 6.12.173 and this doesn't seem to work.
Told SU to grant access first time I shook the phone, and now, after a shake, it pops the little message up that su granted access, waits a couple seconds, then launches a "this page cannot be displayed" (as in a webpage you can't go to) that takes up the top half of the screen. Bottom half is black.
Running on a stock ROM, with root.
-- UPDATE --
Some more info from the web browser. From what I can tell, you're trying to save a PNG, and then open it with the browser to zoom it. The error I'm getting is:
The web page at: file:///data/data/com.vrx.screenzoom/tmpshot.png could not be loaded as:
The requested file was not found. /data/data/com.vrx.screenzoom/tmpshot.png (No such file or directory).
I think it should be just '/data' rather than '/data/data', but I tried saving a png to both '/data/com.vrx.screenzoom/tmpshot.png' AND '/data/data/com.vrx.screenzoom/tmpshot.png' and still got the "file not found" error.
Please let me know if I can help anymore with troubleshooting as I'd love to see this app work! Also, the shake has to be pretty violent for it to pick up; perhaps some other launch gesture as an option also?
Ok, I'm a noob and I'm sorry - I tried to search but couldn't find anything relevant.
This morning when I came to check my phone after charging it all night I noticed something weird with my sensation, the top of the screen is at the bottom of the screen and the touch screen is also out line. (its hard to explain the problem)
I have attached a picture which will hopefully make some sense.

The phone is running ICS senseless, I can get more details if needed - I'm hoping this is software and not hardware
Thanks for anybody reading this and if anybody could help then I would be forever grateful.

You didn't say what kind of ROM you're running? Is it custom or official OTA?
If the ROM is custom I would ask the question in Dev thread, you might get more support there. Or someone might of experience the same issue and have a fix already.
Pretty sure it's the rom, which one are you using?
Yeah ics on sensation has to be custom. Totally sounds like an os issue. Try backing up User apps/data, wiping and reinstalling. If it is an os issue definitely someone on the ROM thread has addressed it.
Sent from my HTC Sensation ARHD 6.5.1XE. Rockin'
Okay, so a few months ago, I rooted my Honeycomb 3.2.1 tablet and installed the kernel from joe.stone.
I'm pretty sure they're compatible and all. The tablet model is myPadP4 (Which is only available in Taiwan I believe).
And later on, the tablet is acting weird.
Sometimes it freezes, randomly reboot/shutdown, and recently, I can't even turn the tablet off, it just shuts down, and reboot. (Note that the battery is irremovable.)
I tried the "Quick Boot" app to shutdown, doesn't work.
I tried shutting down via "reboot -p", doesn't work.
Not sure if it's caused by the kernel OR some app that I installed (That's the most unlikely case I think.)
And yes, I did try to do a factory reset, doesn't help.
Any idea? Or I simply have to send it back to the manufacturer?

I dunno if this is needed but just in case.
I'm pretty sure its the custom kernel that's causing you grief, try going back to the stock kernel
remember custom kernels are not always perfect, they may have bugs.

well if the dev is still supporting the kernel, you can wait for the dev to fix all the bugs.
if not, there not much anyone can do.
guess that is what you get for buying a cheap unknown tablet
click thanks if helped

Well guess that means I have to send it back to manufacturer then.
Oh and it's actually just a ZTE tablet with name changed, just re-published by one of our mobile services.
My phone is HTC Sensation z710e (HTC__M27). Its have is a strange issue.
I had been tried ivanich's new custom ROMs. Also the firmwares in htc.vi8.info , too. I can't remember fix time; suddenly began to appear a special mark in bottom-left of screen(dark circle with red outline/halo). Included all modes; Bootloader and Recovery and main system. Whatever I did, the symbol can't removed(Even if Original stock ROM, all firmwares, "Relocked" and "Unlocked" mode, too).
How can I remove this watermark? Can you help me? I would love to.
P.S.: I just tried to send example screenshots. Unfortunately I'm new user; the forum system allows external links after 10-post.

Mine had this too, after some work a dark circle suddenly started appearing on the screen and I tried everything (putting the phone in the freezer, even changed the motherboard since I had two of these.) but nothing fixed it, I think you should replace the screen. And I don't think it has anything to do with the ROM you just installed, It has to do with the hardware.
btw mine looks like this:

Me too. Exactly same amblem despite its position different.
I tried "Dead Pixels Test and Fix" app and many ROMs. No change. As you said, this issue releated hardware. I will send it to technical service. If there is no fix, I keep to use it with the dark spot amblem.
