Can anyone recommend a good case and screen protector? - HTC One S

I'm looking for a case and a screen protector for my One s.
the screen protector has to be durable and last,
and the case has to be hard, and not make the phone bulky.
I'm planning on using both at the same time.
thanks for you time

You don't mind the top and bottom being exposed then the rock quicksand case or the nillkin super shield.
You want the top and bottom to be covered as well, then the diztronic matte TPU case.

I'm looking for a good cover as well. I just bought this phone and... I'm not going to buy a warranty so I want a good cover lol

I recommend this, Capdase Alumor Jacket, 2 in 1 excellent protection: Soft Jacket & metal outter casing Included screen protector, http://dx-box.com/capdase-alumor-jacket-screen-protector-for-htc-one-s-z520e.html

raybox959 that Capdase Alumor Jacket looks like a great way to go. Looks like its not that bulky and will protect pretty well, alothough the edges dont appear to be very raised... just a bit. Overall a great way to go. I have the Ballistic SG case and love it, it protects very very well.

I bought the D3O case for my One S. I dropped my phone on concrete from the second story balcony and the only thing wrong was the case had a dent on it. T-Mobile told me that it was designed to absorb shock. As for a screen protector, I couldn't say any of them. I personally do not use one.
Here is a link to the case I have: http://www.amazon.com/T-Mobile-Protective-Ultimate-Protection-TMobile/dp/B007V73L2E
Here is a link to their website: http://www.d3o.com/

Hi,
I have already used this site for phone cases and cant complain. Ballistic Smooth + cheap eBay screen protectors (I prefer matte)

here you go http://www.capdase.com/en/product5.php?cid=1&bid=5&mid=2961&pid=30214
i`m using it and it fits great on the phone.Also..comes with an included screen protector.Wich i didn`t use it.For screen i use a Momax antiglare screen proector.

Screen protector.
I use Krusell as screen protector. Amazing quality and transparency. Use it without problems for 5 months now. A bit expensive but it's worth in my opinion.

Using the t-mobile OEM D30 case on mine.
Got a black one from the t-mobile store on clearance, and a clear one from amazon.
In fact, aside from my workphones which have heavy duty otterboxes, i am going to start using these d30 cases on all my phones.
doesnt add a lot of bulk, and protects well.
As for screen protector, i pretty much grab whichever wet install i can find on amazon cheapest... zagg, armoursuit, ghost armor, whatever.

AW: Can anyone recommend a good case and screen protector?
As case I am using Otterbox Commuter case. It is not super slim but also not too bulky. It protects the phone really well. I don't know how often I dropped my phone now but thanks to Otterbox it is still in perfect shape.

I have the D30 case and screen protectors also bought from the tmobile store a couple of weeks ago when they were on sale. They may still be there since they've been clearanced. It was $14.99 on clearance and is so much better than the cheapo ebay case. It doesn't add a lot of bulk but feels safer. Also, unlike the HOS cases sold at Walmart, the Tmobile ones actually fit the HOS.

i also have the d30 clear case, really good case, feel really good on my hand and doesnt feel heavy , however i prefer the black snap on case from ebay better, just a personal preferences. if anyone want the d30 case, ill be more then likely to give it away for free, just pay for shipping

PM sent...please check!

I use anti Glare Screen Protectors
U can find it on eBay
As for case, the best case is the one that came with the phone Out Of the Box

I've been using the Diztronic matte black flexible tpu case for a couple months now with no complaints. It keeps the phone pretty slim and provides enough of an opening for all ports and buttons. Some may not like that the matte back part does show a good amount of scuffs when viewed at the right angle but I don't mind. Highly recommended.

[Review] HTC Desire Commuter Series Case

Hello
A few days ago I received the Otterbox Commuter case for my HTC Desire ..
And I want to publish my review on this case .

The Commuter Series Case comes in three layers :
Silicone case
Plastic cover
Screen Protector
* Design -
It looks much better from pictures I saw on there web site (www.otterbox.com) .
The case isn't more thick from the TPU Case .
* Quality -
High quality of materials .
There is a big quality difference between this case between 1-5 dollars cases on eBay.
* Protection:
The case feels good in hand .
Protection of three layers as I mentioned earlier
Silicon covers all ports (charging / USB and headphones) it's good thing against dust and moisture.
Silicon is higher from the screen so you can put the phone on the table without danger to the screen. Same thing about the camera , The silicone hard plastic gives you the possibility to put the phone against the back of the device without any damage to the camera .
Anyone who wants better protection than that (though in my opinion do not have to) you need to search for Otterbox Defender Case .
* Price:
Case costs $ 34.95 (without shipping) and you can find this case on - www.otterbox.com
- Advantages and disadvantages in Case that I found so far
Strengths:
Case with three layers -
A screen protector, silicone and hard plastic.
Silicon coverage covering all ports , something that I think is very helpful against dust and moisture.
Coverage isn't really thick .
Very easy to press the volume buttons, power button, something annoys me in TPU was hard to press the power button.
Weaknesses:
One small thing that annoys me is the dust on the accumulates up and down the exposed silicon area (because it's not hard silicone, also it has advantage and disadvantages).
Can be cleaned with a transfer finger on the dust or air.
This is an excellent Case . And this is the end result of my impressions from the Case :
Protection:
4.5 out of 5
Design:
4.5 out of 5
Price:
4 out of 5
Total
4.5 out of 5.
Images :
Hope you enjoyed my review
Thanks!

No one liked the review?
Looks nice! I rather prefer sleeves, but might buy a case for my Desire some day just to make sure it doesn't get any nasty damage .
I don't like this case because (from the pictures) it doesn't protect Desire right where is more fragile - edges.
EDIT: Or it does? :/ It seems like it has 2 covers (rubbers + plastic?)... cannot see really good.
i have one of these. agree 250% with your review. nice job btw. good pictures.
i have had one problem. ive taken the case off and put it back on so many times that the hard plastic cracked and the soft silicone tore a little. but its all gravy still works wonderfully and you cant see the cracked plastic or the tear. plus, i think im going to talk to my accessory vendor or otterbox about replacing my ****. they probably will.

Good review. Been rocking one on my Desire for almost a month. My one beef is how slick the hard plastic shell is. It needs a bit more grip to it. Other then that, great case!
How about screen protector
I ordered one commuter case,
And olsa Zagg shield on my desire, What do you think about peeling the old zagg shield ?
The hardcase is a bit too slick. Great review though!

If you don't have any bubbles on your ZAGG screen protector Do not install the otterbox screen protector . Save it until you will have problems with ZAGG .
I can't tell you anything about Otterbox screen protector because I'm using right now Martin Fields screen protector
screen protector works well. No complaints from me
Ive been using this case since the day it came out. I'm a truck and coach/heavy equipment mechanic and its held up quite nicely to the abuse it sees every day. I wonder if the Defender is that much better.

LMAO I totally agree. I went to grab mine, slipped off of the counter top of the sink in my bathroom, and dumped right into my toilet. Fished it out very quickly, phone was fine. well protected thanks to my case. but that sucked!
I had my case in the end. It's ok but it's not stylish as it seems from photos. It's screen protector is easy to install but it's size a little small i think. Case is bulkier than it seems also. But i think it's one of the best in the market. I'm thinking about that Jet black gel cases.

It's not too bulky in my opinion , It gives very good protection relative to his size.
Getting used to it and it Feels better.
I totally agree. I only use otter defender. Size over protection is livable. Dropped mine the other day off a 14 ft ladder and she just bounced no damage what so ever. Can't see using anything else. And defender has protector built in. Bonus.
Set Via XDA App
This is the case if you want protection and not a bulk one.
I lost my phone the last sunday in a snowy park and after 3 days under the snow I found it!
It's in excellent form. Only a scratch on the screen protector because of an iceberg
It was a miracle , I was ready to order a HTC desite hd .
Thank you HTC thank you otterbox

Video: Seidio Active vs. Trident Aegis vs. Case-Mate Tough

I made a quick video comparison of these cases since I know many of you are considering buying one but haven't made up your mind on which.
I need a tough case because I work outside in what can be a rough environment at times. Protection for my device is important so this is about cases which cater to those of us who need the extra protection that usually involves adding some bulk to our devices.
I've had the Seidio Active case the longest. It was pricey but it's the only one that includes a holster which is important to me.
Pros: attractive, well constructed, all corners protected, easy access to ports and buttons, easy to hold, easy to remove while still feeling secure, reasonably slim
Cons: expensive, no hard plastic on top front of device
The Trident is probably my least favorite even though it is not in any way a "bad" case.
Pros: attractive, ports have dust covers, thick silicone provides added protection
Cons: fit and finish (a little too loose), corners not protected with hard plastic, bulkier
The Case-Mate is the one I just received but it's already my favorite.
Pros: complete hard plastic protection over the silicone base, attractive, fit and finish, textured back, easy access to ports and buttons, solid feel while still reasonably thin, fits perfectly in Seidio Holster
Cons: smudging of back with skin oils more noticeable than the others
My choice will be to keep the Case-Mate and use it in conjunction with the Seidio Holster. Hit me up with any questions you may have and I'll try to answer promptly.
BTW, PM me if you want to take either the Trident or Seidio off my hands as I'll be selling those.
Makes me happy that I just got the casemate tough case. For those of you who are interested in the Tough Case, they are on EBay for $20.XX with free shipping from NYC so you won't have to shell out $34.99 on case-mate.com or $27.99 with a discount code.

Great video JL! I just popped your cherry with tthe thanks button lol! Ill be getting a case mate also after seeing your video. Ill keep my seidio combo as a spare! It was also nice to see that the casemate fit nicely with the active holster. Thanks!
Great review. Thinking I am going to get the cssemate case too. Got the seidio surface combo with the holster but this evening I noticed a crack on the case along the plastic part in front of the power button.
I'm a bit disappointed because I have only had the case for one month and it already broke. Not something I was expecting from seidio when the hard case sells for 29.95.

Thanks for the video! I just ordered the Seidio Active combo (mainly to get the holster, will try the case as well). Did you take a look at the Otterbox Commuter? I'm wondering how good that case is in comparison to your favorite, the Case Mate.
Also, I've read that the Case-Mate Pop! case for the Sensation is basically the exact same design as the tough case with a slightly nicer (imo) look.

The Otterbox Commuter looks good but I opted not to consider it because every other Commuter I've had has cracked within 3 - 4 months of use. If they offered the Defender version I would have jumped on it. As far as the Case-Mate Pop! Case, it is a little less protective than the Case-Mate Tough Case because it doesnt have a complete hard backing......it is more like the Seidio Active because the silicone is not completely covered by what I can tell from the pics I've seen.

I couldn't decide on which case I wanted, so I got two! Picked up a Seidio Active blue case and a Incipio NGP black case. Whichever one I like less will go up for sale... lol.
Well, they arrived today. Shipping was incredibly fast! The Seidio Active case is pretty awesome. Haven't used the Incipio case much yet since I've really been loving the Seidio. I'll post a mini review later tonight once I get back to my laptop. I'll include some pics too since all of the reviews I've seen for this case don't mention some key things I wanted to know before purchasing it.

Just ordered a Case-mate Tough! Seems to be really nice and sturdy.
Great review!
I have the Seidio Active with the holster. I do agree that when putting into the holster the silicon can be a nuisance. After some use though you can do the one handed insertion, where you slide the bottom of the phone in the holster first and with the index finger push up on the holster tab then seat the rest of the phone into the holster.
I've dropped the phone a few times on hard concrete at my workplace and no issues with cracking or breaking of the case or the phone. It's quite sturdy. Over all a great case.
Reekdaddie, totally agree with you in inserting the phone with the index finger, I have the same setup.
Probably am going to give the surface another try. I don't like to think about putting the phone in the holster with the use of my index finger. I like with the surface that once you have the bottom in you just push in and hear the snap.

Skin instead of a case?

I love the feel of this phone without a case on it. rather than a case are those skins like bodyguardz or whatever they are called just as effective?
What do I look for and how much can I expect to spend?
I dont believe a skin would "cut it". IF you want some protection, get a soft or hard rubber case. Im sporting the hard rubber clear blue now till otterbox gets here end of month.
I had a Ghost Armor skin on my Gnex the entire time I owned it, worked perfectly.
Its great for preventing scratches or scuffs. Drops? Ehh.. ? Although I have seen friends drop phones w/cases and still break em so?
It also adds more grip, just like a case would, but no extra bulk.
Sadly Ghost Armor has nothing for the One series yet... here are some pics of what I had on the Gnex.

I bought a full body Zagg protector (only covers the screen and back) and I'm happy with it.
Will I buy a case?? Probably not. I don't want to cover the phone and make it even bulkier.
Am I worried about dropping it? Of course but I did a great job without dropping my captivate so I'm pretty confident I won't have issues with only a zagg protector on the HTC One X.
It cost about $30 at ATT.

Why wait for Ghost Armor? I just received my BestSkinsEver skin and it covers the whole phone (screen, back and sides w/ no orange peel) and it's cheaper! The invisibleSHIELD only covers the front and the back, no sides. It cost me $8.99 (full body) with $2 shipping... only thing is you have to make your own solution and it comes in an envelope (no box like others).
More pics of your Zagg dude! I want to see how far it covers the sides. Does it go all the way up to the glossy part of the sides?
Just received on the mail my two full body skins from bestskinsever.com
I paid $8.99 for each plus $1 for shipping.

You know that grey sticker above "Beats Audio" comes off, right? Well, it did before it was "protected"..
I've been shopping around for cases. I used to use a bumper on my i4 so I would enjoy a minimalist setup. Probably just going to get it covered at a kiosk in my local mall since I had the same one on my i4 and loved it.

[Q] Best protective case for One S?

I'm going to probably buy the One S. Which case is best? I prefer one that protects the screen/front as well as everything else. Something like the Otterbox defender for the iPhone which encloses the entire phone in a protective plastic shell.
suggestions appreciated!
I just got a One S and picked up an otterbox case. It has a rubbery case that goes on the phone and then that can clip into a harder plastic case, so there's shock absorption combined with a hard plastic shell. its kind of thick, but honestly i found the phone to be too thin without it. it's at a nice usable weight and feel with the case.
The otterbox case also comes with a clear screen protector which is nice. It wasn't cheap ($40-ish, cant remember) but im really happy with it so far and am not worried that i'll wreck the phone in any way.
Hope that helps.
If you want something very protective but not extremely thick put an invisible shield screen protector on and get a d30 case. Works pretty well but no where near as bulky as an otterbox.

The d30 case can be bought at any T-Mobile store or on their website. And the invisible shield can be found at basically any cell store or zagg.com. there both holding up very well and the zagg has a lifetime replacement warranty

Where can one find Otterbox cases for the One S? They seem to be available by the hundreds for the iPhone on Amazon...

Where can one find Otterbox cases for the One S? They seem to be available by the hundreds for the iPhone on Amazon...

I am just bought an Aegis case, looks like more protection than the Cimo I am currently sporting. The diztronic I got lost out to the Cimo.
I don't want it to be too thick though so the otterbox, etc, are out of the picture for me. I'll post a new thread when I get it. I am hoping the Aegis is a good compromise.
I purchased the D30 case when I bought the phone and use with a thin screen protector. As a clumsy person I've dropped it a number of times - including down my brick stairs onto concrete - and not a scratch or any indication of shock damage! Definitely recommend the D30. (About $40 was worth it.)

D30 case is $25.00 at T-Mobile.
I bought and its a great case minus the buttons which are hard to press. Very irritating.
Now have a Cruzerlite TPU case which is AWESOME. It is the slimmest case I have seen. You feel the actual size of the phone rather than a bulky case. Great protection and buttons are easy to press.
Cruzerlite cases are only 9.95 and have Andy the android bot design on them and come in lots colors.

D3O is what I recommend. Still preserves the thin fell in you hand. Hell I have d3o for everyone of my phones.

THIN case

Whats the thinnest case you have found for the S4? I've been looking at various cases, and they are all so thick ( I usually go naked.. ) but I would like to put something over it for drop protection ( so no, skins don't work ). And don't suggest any of the crap offered by SPIGEN, I'm done with that worthless company ( ALL support issues with them ).
ITSkins has the ghost and Zero.3, but neither is available STILL ( they where suppose to be on the 15th ) and you can't pre-order them either....
Everything else i find just says "Thin" or some other wonderful adj, I'd like a number and facts. Thin is subjective....

I have the case mate barely there case. I have to say, it feels so nice in the hand.. Because of the matt finish. Better than any other case I had. And I also had the spigen neo hybrid. The look is also casual. Really like the style.
Here some foto's I just took.
Hope it helps.
Regards

I have the ringke rearth slim and it looks similar to the barely there above but even thinner (by the looks of his pics). Not much protection but improves grip and barely any if at all bulking up of the phone

i have this tpu case that to me doesnt feel like it adds any weight or thickness to the phone itself. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00BYPZU28/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
here are some pics to show you what i mean. notice 2 of these pics you can see how the case works well with the mime ghost glass screen protector. it's also partially see through.
found this on ebay
Clear 0.3mm Ultra Thin Cover Case Screen Guard for Samsung Galaxy S4 i9500
This 0.3 case covers the top and bottom edges too, this will be the thinnest you can find on the market with a full protection. I've one when i'm using my S3, looking for a S4 one and found this.:good:

I agree. It doesn't add anything thickness but HOWEVER, it does add some to the width making the phone feel wider.
He said no neo hybrid

After everything I have read about Spigen, I am very hesitant to buy one of their products. The casemate looks pretty nice, but I don't like the openings on the top and bottom. I want a thin/light case, but I want a little bit of fall protection in it.
I've just got this one, loving it so far.

Serious recommendation: I was in the same boat, and didn't think I would find anything I liked. I happened to be browsing at BestBuy while my wife picked out case. I noticed some RocketFish branded cases that look really slim. Asked if I could try one on my phone and it fit like a glove, barely added any size to it, but definitely makes it feel like I'm not going to accidentally fling the phone across the roam just taking it out of my pocket.
I also have the Ringke Rearth ultra slim case - which was not only the thinnest I've seen, but also very cheap!
I keep the Spigen Neo-Hybrid case on my phone though - I had an S3 get nicked up at the bottom where the ultra thin rearth case didn't cover. Outside of the neo-hybrid I think the rearth cases are my favorites - considering I bought one for my S4 immediately and had one for my S3 I'd feel confident suggesting it.
I purchased both the Ringke Rearth Slim and the Spigen Neo Hybrid. While the Spigen looks nice it really does add a lot of width to the phone. The Ringke is easily the slimmest case that I have used for any phone. Not to mention it only cost $2. The matte black has also been great for adding grip. My only complaint is that the Ringke case is very difficult to remove.
I have a Spigen Ultrafit. Its pretty darn thin.
I like the matte finish.
Spigen Ultrafit
Edit: it is just thick enough the effectively recess the buttons to protect them from drops, plus it works with a tempered glass screen protector. AND...its only $10 shipped with Prime.
what is the point of cases that dont cover the top and bottom? my dad's s3 has one of those and it got destroyed on the bottom from a small drop

It would have to hit a very uneven surface...the corners are protected. You would have to drop in on gravel or a curb or something like a car door sill. If you drop in on tile or flat concrete it is impossible to hit the edge because of the gap created by the corners. I prefer minimal protection. My main concern is really protecting the corners back and front since those are what are going to hit 99% of the time. And the buttons...you can break the board connections (trust me I know, lol) if the phone lands on its buttons. I actually was thinking of going naked since the battery door can be replaced so easily and it is the entire back. Just a screen protector and a replaceable back. I have insurance. Also, I am a middle aged dad...I am not in the situations that you would drop a phone that often.
All that being said I will probably get another case at some point just because, lol.
I have the Body Glove phone case. Made of soft rubber for a nice all around grip. I purchased it at Walmart for $15. Link is for image of the case.

I had this case for my S3 and loved it......anyone know if there's a case just like this for the S4? I keep my phone in my pocket so I prefer the headphone jack and the charging port to be covered unless I'm using them.

Supposedly the neo-hybrid makes the headphone jack extremely small though...I LOVE the look of that case, but as a Beats user, I'm afraid :crying:
DBA Cases has a thin case that is avaliable in six different colors.

I have the Ringke. It is very thin. I don't feel like it would do anything to prevent the screen from cracking. It would prevent scratches to the back though.
I now have a Chinese knock off neo hybrid. Add with the genuine. .. Pretty thin on the back but it does make the phone wider. I do feel like this will help obsorb shock in a fall.
